After reading some very poor reports on this site my partner & I were some what put off, however upon arrival we found that the hotel was actually very good. We stayed all inclusive for 3 nights.
The food was excellent, breakfast was your typical english (Bacon Egg etc).
Lunch was very varied with a wide range to choose from, Dinner was also varied, with a Carvery every night with a different meat, and throughout the whole day snacks are available. There was also a wide variety of beverages from 08:00-24.00. One area of concern was the size of the pool in relation to the hotel size and the lack of sunbeds, however the beach is a 3 minute walk away and is very nice, cheap for Sunbeds (3euro) and very clean. 

Would definately recommend this hotel and will be going back next year for a short break.

Just returned from this hotel yesterday.  The hotel is very nice with friendly staff.  I was a bit concerned with the reviews I had read on here prior to going but everything was fine.

The meals as part of All Inclusive are also good and varied.  Breakfast is available from 8am-11am with lunch 13:00 to 15:00 and evening meal 18:30 to 21:00.

I would say the majority of the people in the hotel are over 30.  There aren't too many people around my age (21) so it was a bit dissappointing for us.

I would definitely return to this hotel.  It is in a good location just off the sea front and only a 4euro taxi ride to the Magaluf strip.

I wasn't too impressed with the hotel entertainment as I think it was geared to the older residents but it is the only flaw.  We did hear that there had been a couple of thefts in the hotel but I'm certain you will hear this in most hotels all over the world and wouldn't let it put you off.  You can get a safe for 35euro with 10 being returned at the end of your stay.

We went to this hotel on a 4 night hen weekend After reading the reviews we were all a bit dubious what we might find! But thankfully it was not at all as bad as people had described.

We were on an all inclusive board and had read that the food wasn't up to much - how wrong! Food was served HOT all day long and there was plenty of it! It catered for everyones tastes you had a choice of rice & pasta dishes, chicken, meat, fish, salads, fresh fruit, chips, burgers, sausages, new potatoes, soups and lots lots more! The various desserts were nice too and the plentiful wine!
The staff were a bit abrupt, especially the bar staff, but one nice barman called Carlos was very pleasant and reminded us that champagne was all inclusive too!

Our rooms were cleaned every day but beware of the rooms next to the church! the bell seems to ring whenever it feels like it and its very loud and continuous! Not good with a hangover!
We didn't get to sit by the pool during the day as there was never any beds available and they were all squeezed in anyway! Also it didn't appeal as there were quite a few stag parties around who just seemed to chuck each other in the pool all day and get drunk! So we went to Palma Nova beach which is a lovely beach about 5 mins walk away, the sand is fine and white and the sea was really clear and warm. There is also a fantastic Haagen Das ice cream shop on the front which we visited every day!
Between the hotel and the beach there is an 84 hole crazy golf course which is great fun and its open till 1.00am! There are also a few nice restaurants in the resort.

All in all it wasnt as bad as people make it out to be but it is ideal for a 4 night stay like we had. We met people that were there for 2 weeks and were very bored! The weather was fantastic too and we all returned with great tans!

Try to avoid going in this hotel at easter. over run with the spanish people taking their free holiday from their government, also this hotel was open to all other spanish people on holiday leaving no seats for us in the entertainment end.If you're looking for good entertainment i'd advice you to look else where, only the staff who take care of you supposedly during the day to try to entertain you on a night. take plenty money and find the enternment outside.

pool area very poor and shaded in most places, food luke warm and what you had for lunch you could gaurentee it would be for dinner in a different way. the women bar staff had a attitude problem with all the english people all though the head barmaid was great.Smoking end right at the end of the eshtablishment so had to do the walk of shame everytime you wanted a drink. rooms are clean and chamber maids are friendly. resort very clean and tidy.

My wife and I wanted a good quality break after a busy and stressful few months so from the write-up this alleged 4-star hotel seemed to fit the bill.  Not so - when we arrived on Thursday lunchtime we were appalled to find our 1st floor room in the centre section very basic, tired and tatty.  There was no TV, the fridge didn't work and there were drawers missing from the furniture. 

When we went to sit on the balcony we were driven back in to the room by the loud, brash and crude language and behaviour of multiple Stag and Hen parties, this only got worse as the day wore on and they got drunker by the minute - one evening 3 armed Guardia Civil needed to be called to sort some of them out.

We had to suffer the stench of sewage coming from the plumbing in our room for 3 days until we were eventually moved to another part of the hotel, several other guests also complained of a similar problem.

The food and wine was basic and varied little from day to day, the drinks whilst free on all-inclusive are sometimes harsh and entertainment was poor (one night excepted).

The only real good point were the staff, they all worked long hard hours and always had a smile and a cheerful greeting for the guests.

The hotel was probably a very good one in years past but not now, I would not stay here again.

Having stayed at this hotel three years ago, was surprised to see how it has changed. The food and staff are still excellent but it is now been spoilt by short stayers, hen and stag partys and worse the cigarette runners. They come just to get drunk and cause a riot, whilst we were there the Guardia came to the hotel ten times, also rooms were broken into. 

Having stayed at the hotel for five weeks we would not return again.

Read a few bad reports on the palma nova palace, I enjoyed it the food was good always something I enjoyed, plenty of sweets, food quite hot only drawback was the spanish pensioners they think they should get preferential treatment, but ignored them and got on with it. The entertainment wasn,t up to much but met plenty of nice people who we sat and talked to. Few hen parties and golf parties who enjoyed it and didn't cause any trouble in fact they were good company.Our two reps were brilliant, Jade and Naz, they couldn't do enough for you. We went to the pirates show not to be missed absolutely fabulous. Also marine land, not too big but spent a good few hours there most enjoyable. The show bar on the main street was good , the guy does a passable elvis, and the barmen , denis and "juanita" He's a guy, were fun. Most of the cafes alomg the front do a nice snack in the afternoon if you get fed up with hotel food. 

Iwill go back next year.

this was a hotel that was not a 4 star nor was it even close,

no porter, staff rude, although they seemed to be having a good time,safe deposit near 30 pounds,

no dress code,meals very poor ,cold,veal and pork every night,
grounds  very poor , no where to sunbathe,

fittings and furniture from the early seventies,

very dissapointed would not recommend,

how this hotel, ever got a four star rating i will never know,

would we come back no never.

Resort is typical holiday resort, quite clean with the usual shops bars clubs etc the Marina is gorgeous and well worth a stroll.
The Hotel seemed lovely - from the outside, the rooms were ok, not great definately not 4*
We had to walk past the smoking area to reach everything, bar, pool, reception,restaurant ( we dont mind people smoking but the place stank, its not nice to get up and showered and then make your way through black clouds of stale smoke)
The staff were friendly and helpful the bar was well stocked
This Hotel is mainly for the over 75's I suppose we should of expected it as we went out of season, therefore the entertainment was not to our taste.
The food was awful veal,veal and more veal, chips that tasted like they had been cooked in old oil (the whole place stank of oil) eeuugh!!!!! We saw cockroaches in the breakfast cereal!!!
The pool and surrounding area is small also the pool bar was mainly closed (not enough staff to run the indoor and outdoor bars

We do not recommend and would not return to this hotel.

Stayed here 4 years ago,certainley went down in star rating since then.Would only give it 2-3 stars now,entertainment very poor,food average.Whilst there between 20-30 robberies took place from various rooms,including mine.No sign of entry into room,everything pointing towards staff,other guests thinking same.Management not helpful in any way,did nothing to help the situation,all robberies were reported to police at time.

Will not recommend a stay at this hotel.

I would not reccomend anyone go to this hotel, we arrived and was made to wait 3 hours for a hotel room, staff were arrigant and not friendly to talk to, pool was tiny no splashing no lilos do people call this a holiday??

this hotel is more for the *older people* infact i think u have to be over 70 to go there! we had heard there had been a few thefts lately, so the reception staff very kindly decided to let another couple have the spare key for our room! me thinks they need to be a bit more vigilant when givin out keys to a room thats already been taking!i would seriously think about it b4 booking to go to the palma nova palace

Just came back from palma nova palace hotel 2 weeks was not suppose to be at this hotel booked condes alcudia arrived told no rooms 4 us so ended up here resort very good hotel like a 2 star 1 dining room food rubbish no snack bars eat fruit and crackers 4 2 weeks very noisey at night piss heads coming back all hours creating hell every person spoke 2 was booked at another hotel 2 me this is just a over fill hotel ur here so lump it, entertainment 1 night show 1night quiz boring been 2 a lot better 3 stars if u decide 2 book this hotel it is a 2 or at most 3 star on a good note made friends with some lovely people all in the same boat as us so by 4 now all the best 2 the mcdonald clan.

Just back from Palma Nova Palace. We went AI for a week and I had read previuos reviews here prior to booking.

WE had an enjoyable relaxing holiday. The weather was very hot and sunny! The air con in the hotel lounge reception and room were great and really needed.

It can be a chore getting good sun bed positions. The pool area is on the small side and there are only a few umbrellas. If you need a bit of shade like us, but also want sun for the whole day then you must pick the correct positions. Needless to say you need to be up around 0830 to get these! But there are plenty of beds and other places to put them. And the pool itself is nice especially with no kids splashing around!

We felt the food was great. Plenty of variety, the warm stuff was warm and there is plenty of fruit. We did not starve in fact I probably ate too much. My wife is a fussy vegetarian and although some of the veggie options did not excite her she ate well from the other non meat selections. The food hall is by its layout a bit cramped and people do tend to walk over you a bit when you go for the food which is all self service. But that did not spoil it for us.  

The staff do in deed work hard and are mostly friendly. The wicked witch howvever behind reception could do with a lesson in the customer friendly approach, but she was the exception.

The hotel was clean as was our room. Cleaned every day with new towels.

A word of warning though. Near the end we heard of an elderly women who had her handbag snatched from the dining room and she lost a lot of cash. The police were involved and I did not hear the outcome.

The room safe is worth it. Ask at reception for the front door if not present and pay the 24Euro for a week!

palma nova is lovely we have been several times. we had been to this hotel 3 years ago and it was wonderful. this time oh dear!

the food is poor. breakfast andlunch still lovely but evening meal awful. we ate out.
the tables are not cleared and at 8pm we had trouble finding a table without dirty pots on it. the staff in the dining room are unfriendly and almost begrudge you being there especially after they have been open for an hour. a lot of main courses only lasted for the first half hour and were not replenished "is finito" we were told on several occasions.

groups of young men and women are being allowed in especially hen and stag parties and of course are very noisy of which management is well aware but does not seem to deal with the problem.

young children in pool being a complete nuisance and when mentioned to the rep it turns out it was quite common and again nothing done. this is not what we paid for.
our fridge did not work either because the electric in the room is only on when your key is in the slot so it is defrosting all the time.

Please beaware of this before booking, as a move of accomodation is very annoying, when you pay good money to stay a named hotel. Hotel had good food. reasonable entertainment, but I would not go back as you could not get a nights sleep parties of lads running around at night, jumping into pool all night long, no security to stop them. We were wakened every morning at 4.30-5.00am by lads running amok in the hotel.In the dining area the tables were not cleared fast enough, bearing in mind this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel as you finished each course you were struggling to find space on the table for the next course as the dishes were not cleared away.   Also no facilities on balconies to dry clothes

I had been to the Palma Nova Palace 5 years ago.I felt that in the last 5 years the hotel had went down hill.
The last time we were there you had a table at the side of the pool and jugs of cocktails etc.  where you could help yourself there was nothing like that.  Also previously in the fridge in your room there was a complimentary bottle of water this time there was nothing and the reception staff were unable to give us change of our notes to buy water from machine in foyer and as we had medication to take this was most annoying.

Just returned from holiday, we had booked the Mimosa Park as this had better reviews than the Palma Nova Palace, on checking in we were told that the Mimosa was fully booked and we would be staying at the 4 STAR Palace, we were quite upset about this but realised we could't do much about it so we  got in the taxi  provided for us.On arrival we were given our room pool view and clean. We have both stayed at numerous 3, 4 and 5 star A/I hotels and this does not measure up to any of them it would be lucky to make a 2 star.

There are no snacks at the pool, if you miss breakfast and go in after 10.30 am there are chips, beefburgers, sardines, salads and ham and cheese, who wants these for a late breakfast?

The lunch and evening meals were very repetitive with limited choice, there is no beer served just discinfectanty water and awful red or white wine which would be better served on chips!

The pool and sun areas are very small for the size of the hotel,but it is kept clean.

As for the evening  entertasinment, well if your idea of fun is how many toilet rolls you can stack up, how far you can flick a playing card or the 1st person to take 5 bras to the DJ, well you will have a ball!!

Plusses are no kids,  air con in the rooms and the staff are friendly thats about it.

we stayed at the palma nova palace third week in may 006. good food v. clean and friendly staff
hired a car from europa , good company and the car a polo was v.clean
returning car to airport is a major problem. i stoped to ask  directions and during the few minutes i was away the car was on a tow truck being impounded.i had to pay e70 on the spot.my wife was also charged with assult as she touched him on the arm while explaining our problem,but thanks to the lady from europa cars common sense was restored
we also played golf and the courses we would recommend were andrax and son vida.
be prepared to pay e70-e80 each plus-e40 for a buggy

Just back from 5 night break at Palma Nova Palace.  There is no way this is a 4 star hotel.  We've stayed in better 3*, namely the Hawaii.  The only concession to this being a 4* is that the corridors are carpeted so you dont hear people clattering along of a night.

The rooms are comfy but not very big and the tv only has 2 english speaking channels which are both news channels and who wants to hear the news when they are on their hols!  The bathroom was small with no bidet or even a toilet brush.  The room key is attached to the card supplied for the electricity to your room which is a great way of saving electricity but what is the point of having a fridge in the room when it stops working everytime you leave the room!!

The dining room wasnt the cleanest we've been in and the food was very repetative with not a great deal of choice especially the puddings which were either day glo blamange or cold rice pudding.  The entertainment room is comfy but long and narrow so if you are at the back you cant see the stage and the speakers went off on the karaoke night but that wasnt such a bad thing!

The pool is tiny and its hard to get a sunbed so we went to the beach everyday which cost 9 euros.  A taxi into town was about 4 euros each way so next time we will be staying at the Hawaii as it is a much better hotel that this supposedly 4*

I have just returned from a 10 day all inclusive holiday at this hotel.it was a surprise christmas pressie for my mum who had her 65th birthday while we were there.

hotel is clean and facilities are good (i wonder about the 4* status - have stayed in 3* as good as this if not better). food was very good always a good variety of hot and cold choices. Bar Service very good with plenty to choice from.
My sister also booked to stay with us for 7 nights at this hotel, only to find out when she arrived it was overbooked and she was in the 3* palma nova next door. We picked this hotel as it was ADULT ONLY as we were all over 18 and wanted to be away from kids for a relaxing break. They were issued with 2 wrist bands so they could use both Hotels, but we were not allowed to use their's which was a bit of a pain.
There were about 6 or 7 hen/stag parties staying who were very loud most of the day and night, this didn't bother me too much as i like a party atmosphere, there was however plenty of guests who found them offensive, and many complaints were made.

i had a good time and would even go back to this hotel again, but not in peak season as it would be far too busy in the resturant and around the pool (both areas are small for the size of the hotel) if you want a quiet restful holiday you may be lucky and stay when there are no hens/stags, as most of the other guests were probably over 70. 

All in all as with everything you get what you pay for and we paid less than £40 per double room per night and flights of around £60 per head - you wouldn't be able to stay in england for that and the weather was good most of the time.

Just got back from a week at the Palma Nova Palace and had a great time.
This is not by any means a four star hotel but the company made it that way.
Rooms were big enough but our fridge wasn't working and one of the lights had gone. The central heating was working and found it to be quite handy as the weather wasn't that warm. Clean towels every day and room cleaned.
Food was varied and there was plenty of it. Some days it was fine other days a bit hit and miss. We were all inclusive and the snacks which were on between meals sometimes seemed better than the meals. Fruit was always available on reception and you could just help yourselves.

Entertainment was bingo,quizes and some other types of entertainment which we didn't see too much of as we were in the smoking room based at the back of the hotel and this was were most of the entertainment was !! If we hadn't gone in there we wouldn't have met such great people (hello to Carole & Jay,Pauline (Hyacinth)& Keith,Alan,Linda & family and not forgetting Alan & Jane who thought they were drinking Vodka & Limes all the time but we were just getting them straight lime juice - sorry).
The bar states you can only get three drinks at a time but we were getting a few especially at last orders which was 12 midnight.

Resort was a bit quiet in March but there are a few good bars about. One was just up the road past the Police Station and turn right and that was called Karens Bar.
Good for John Smiths and Pool. Barman let us get a Kebab from next door and eat it in the pub. Golf Fantasia is one of the best crazy golfs I have seen and that is just around the corner. There are 54 holes and it is cheaper if you get the tickets from the hotels.

All in all a very good holiday and can't wait to go back in June but staying next to the beach next time.

Nicely decorated and very clean hotel, Food was piping hot and different most meal times, Good reception & bar staff, Good car park, These are the only 4 star bits!           

Dining area a bit cramped, at breakfast if you require toast allow an extra 15 minutes( only 2 very slow toasters) There are no tea/coffee facilities in the bedrooms! No Fridge or mini bar as promised. Bathroom is tiny, bath about 3/4 normal length, Poor lighting and most fittings pulling the wallplugs out,as usual no window and extractor fan did not work, Poooo! oh and only 2 tiny bits of soap, nothing else! The tv has only 2 news channels to watch and no remote control. We were on the ground floor with patio to the pool area, get moved on first day because the noise night and early morning is bad. Heater and air con ok. Small bar but no problem getting served, only 1/2 pints and plain cocktails(no fancy brollys etc.) No indoor pool! There is no problem with smoke now. The rep is good and there for a few hours each day. Very easy walk to beach. 

Would I recommend this hotel?  As a 3 star Yes, but not as a 4 star.

Palma Nova Palace is sold as a over 21 hotel, more like over 60's. The food was fine if you were vegetarian if not you were left with pork & hake for lunch and dinner every day. On our last day we were treated to some beef for dinner. As it was geared for the more older generation the entertainment at night was pretty poor as well. Bingo was called every night from 9.30pm and then they would have a further show after that. 

Overall the PM Palace was a dreadfull choice for a week in Palma Nova, there are a lot better hotels out there.

Having booked this holiday as 4star hotel I was so disapointed the best I would give it is lower 3 the dinning room is very small food repeated over 7 nights dinning room manager very misrebale.Bar staff only talk amongest themselfs not to us the guest.Only allowed three drinks per visit to the bar and that was half pints if you had a beer,no food or drink to be taken out of the dinning room,no porter, safe 22 euro per week.Swimming pool very small lucky to get a bed I willnever go back to this hotel again.My wife and I looked at other hotels in Palma Nova that were 3star and thats were we we will go next time because they were better.

This was our 3rd visit to this Hotel and many changes had been made. First there is now only certain areas of the hotel you can smoke and if you do then don't expect to see the entertainment on the evenings. 

Second change was the quality of food that was served on the evening. Now let me make this clear the breakfast and lunchtime meals were supurb but the evening meals were poor. Previous years we always had a nightly carvery i.e.( pork, veal, turkey etc ) but this year it was either chicken or spare ribs.  The sliced meat on offer was always tough and cold . The hotel itself was as in previous years clean and well maintained and all the staff were helpful and always served you with a smile.  

We are going back again next year but I do really hope that the new Management will look at both the no smoking policy as well as the chef who prepares the evening meals.

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel in the beginning of October 2005.

The hotel was very clean, rooms very clean etc. Good bar service at all the bars with pleasant staff.

We were all inclusive and the food was good, my only gripe was that everyday one of the courses would be Veal. There were carverys on the evening meal and the meat was cooked perfectly.

The hotel is a short walk from the beach and the resort centre, i would say about ten minutes at a slow walk. The Fantasia golf course is close by and is well worth a visit, very good fun.

The rooms that look out from the front of the hotel can be a bit noisy as the road outside is a bit busy, i recommend several all inclusive beers as a sedative.

I would recommend this hotel for people who are wanting a relaxing time, especially at the time of year we were there. I will return to this hotel.

We went in september after reading the coments on this site.How disapointed my wife and I were.

First as a SMOKER I found it hard to have a smoke anywhere in the hotel only round the pool O.K when not raining it did 2 days.

Food  reapeted every 3 days Bar staff could not give a monkey about guests.As a 4 star I expect 4 star service, no porter to carry your cases you have to carry them  yourself May I have a safe not till after 4.30.pm? did not matter no door on safe.I under stand this hotel was aquired in July by another group and are running it with less staff,only staff I tiped was room service/maid great.They closed the outside part off the restraunt so made the inside very cramped,no dress code at all for eavning meal restraunt staff not very good sat with my first/second/and sweet courses plates through the whole meal more than five visits to the restraunt.I did e.mail globeles with my complaint and they did admit they have cut staff so they can keep the price down.

So if you do not smoke,like the same food every 3 days,dont mind a safe with no door at 22 euros for 7 nights bar staff that like to ignore you and talk amongst themselfs.This hotel should be rated as a 3 star at the most

We booked this holiday at the last minute and did not really know much about it.
Upon arrival the hotel looked very nice and the receptionist was very friendly getting us checked in as quickly as possible.  We were on the fourth floor and was glad there was a lift as cases were heavy.  We walked down a very nicley decorated corridor to our room. Upon entering the room first thought were basic but very nice. On the first day we went to get a bed by the pool which was near impossible as it is quite small and all good beds are taken very early. So we went to the beach and was not disappointed. The beach has very clear water beautiful sands and is great for getting a tan. There is also a very nice bar on the beach if you fancy a nice pint or two.  

Whilst staying in Palma Nove we visited two water parks in Magaluf which are both a short taxi ride away and a must for everyone. Would take food if you can though as it is quite expensive and very large queues. I would recommend this resort and hotel to all ages as it is a great place to relax but entertainment is not too far away.  

If you are thinking of going here I would strongly recommend it. We are going back again in June 2006.

My Girlfriend and I have just returned from a short 4 night break at the Palma Nova Palace and have to say that we were both impressed with the Hotel and the value for money it represented.

The room was clean and the airconditioning effective, there was also a fridge in the room.

A tip - get 2 keys as you need to put one in the slot in the room to keep the electricity on i.e. aircon and fridge (A tesco points card also works!) although this was removed and I never saw it again!
so don't use a credit card ;-)

The food was excellent and plentiful. We always found something tasty for breakfast and dinner. We tended to be out and about during the day.

The pool area is quite small, but if you don't get a sunbed there are plenty of chairs to sit around in and the pool itself is very clear and welcoming.

The western waterpark in Magaluf is worth a visit. Make sure you see the stunt show, the high dive is amazing, it made my nerves jangle just watching.

P.S.
The hot weather, the beaches, the clear sea and the sangria are all fantastic.

The hotel is brilliant, we stayed for 6 nights and didn't need to eat out of the hotel once, the food was very good, always hot and always a varied choice. evening meal was avaiable until 9 pm which we thought was great.

we were on all inclusive, drinks were available from 8am until midnight and they were very generous with the measures!

rooms very nice and clean, miad came in every day, loads of wardrobe space. i think that the rooms can sleep 3 but in my opinion it would be a bit of a squeeze!

hotel in really good location just 5 mins walk to the beach, and to shops and bars, definately give the stadium bar a try, its excellent!

now for the down side, pool area very small very limited sun beds so you have to be up early to get one. all meals are served in the restaurant, a pool side snack bars would have be a welcome addition to the facilites.

would definately go back! happy holiday!

I looked before i went to this hotel and read mostly bad reports and got a bit worried.I decided to wait and see for myself and went feeling a bit apprehensive. I should not have worried at all as this is the best hotel i have ever been in in every way. 

The hotel was clean and modern, the staff very friendly, the food was absolutely fantastic - there was always plenty to choose from and something different everyday - the entertainment during the day was extremely well run and again at night. The location is perfect being near the beach and shops, bars etc. and also a short walk into Magaluf. The staff were always cleaning, the rooms were spotless and all the public areas. The pool area was lovely and there were areas just above it which were more private and relaxing was easy to do. 

I would definitely choose this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone. some stated that it was only for old people but there were a lot younger than us there and they seemed to be enjoying it. So try it for yourself!!!!

Before going on my holiday to palma nova, i kept checking the websites and all i could see were bad reviews. This was making me a little worried.
However, when i got to my destination resort i was more than pleased.

Me and my boyfriend are only 19 and although i was a bit shocked to see the majority of people being 50 and over, there were many couples just like myself who wanted a nice little break.
The entertainment everynight was more than enough, something for everyone. If you did have any complaints yo could always go out or play some games.

The food was fantastic. Breakfust, lunch and dinner had so much variety that you could not get bored. There was always something different to have each day if you wanted.
The weather was good and although the pool was a little on the small side, there was always plent of space to sit in the sun and enjoy yourself. The beach is also only a small walk from the hotel and is lovely so i would advise people to visit it!
The bar drinks were very good aswell. Lots of unlimited alcohol and soft drinks are great for everyone. I did find that after you have been drinking the same drink for a while it can get sickly, but there is s much choice, its hard to get bored.

The only down side of the hotel was the reception staff. Although they were helpfull, i found them very abrupt and sometimes quite rude.

Im definately going to go back and i would advise others to do the same.

This hotel is an ideal for a winter or early summer break. The food was excellent with a good choice at each meal.

The bar staff went out of the way to be helpful and serve everyone quickly. Most of the people at the hotel were on all exclusive tarrif and there were rarely any delay in getting served.

The lounge is small and was full most evenings. Only downside is the smoking section of the lounge is large and smoke does get everywhere. The entertainment was typical for spanish hotels, and was pretty poor.
The outside terrace is small and the pool  is also small.

Our bedroom was more than adequate and the heating system provided plenty of warmth on cold nights.
The hotel does not take children and so provides an ideal location for a winter break.
Whilst we were there, leading up to the Easter break the Hotel was full and was suffering from over booking .
An excellent location for a winter break to re-charge the batteries.

We have just returned from a week at the Palma Nova Palace and think it is one of the nicest holidays we have had.  The hotel is lovely,excellant food, clean comfortable, with friendly staff.  The entertainment crew are suitably mad and do their best to ensure you enjoy yourself. (kissy kissy)
I would happily recommend this to anyone looking for a decent holiday at a very reasonable price.

Nothing like we had read about before we went, we didnt find a thing to complain about although did agree the entertainment wasn't the best. Didn't use pool as weather was cool but it looked nice enough.

Food was probably one of the best we have come across in spain so far and after many years of going you soon get used to the same repetitive stuff, only there for a few nights but each meal was varied and never repeated and also included the chef carving beef and turkey. Only used the snack bar once but found it ok for a quick something, microwave and sandwich toaster to use as you want.

Staff friendly but work long hours, hotel cleaners worked all day round but it showed.

Wasnt full of 18-30's or over 70's as previously read was widely varied in age groups (maybe going in march made a difference).

Would recommend this hotel to anyone and we are booking it again for september we enjoyed it that much.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Hotel very very good, we arrived just after the snowfall and although we found the weather quite mild, the locals were freezing.
Hotel kept very warm with central heating on warm in the bedrooms.
Rooms very good size and huge mirrored wardrobes.
One of our rooms had a good sized fridge the other didn't have one at all.
Furniture good standard and balconies decent size.
Sun deck and pool/pool bar not in use due to time of year but didn't appear that sun got round onto sun deck very early in the day.

Restaurant very good food to suit all tastes, including fussy Brits.Snacks available until Midnight.
Bar small but coped well. No two drinks only rule when we were there.
Staff overall helpful, but not very smiley.

Only real problem were the large cigarette run parties arriving late evening, drinking as much as possible buying as many cigarettes as possible and then leaving next evening for the flight home. Not a major problem if well behaved and I suppose the Hotel has to get money where it can early season.

Unfortunately a large group of females, with a couple of males in tow arrived on our last full night and having drunk until midnight at the Hotel went into Magaluf until 8am when they installed themselves back in the Hotel bar where they drank until taxi to the airport at 6.30pm, pausing only to by the cheap ciggies. Their language would have made a docker blush and quite while the Hotel stood for it is beyond comprehension, I bet certainly in season a gang of young lads behaving like that would have met the local Police very quickly.

A few of the older guests probably would consider returning again, a shame really as everything else was excellent.
Lastly a mention for the two entertaiment girls, both very good and with great senses of humour, they'll probably need it by September.

Magaluf and Palma Nova pretty well closed down but enough bars and shops open to pass the lazy days.
Palma is 2.20euros one way on the Bus, great place for visiting but Cathedral is closed for renovation for a while so I'd check up if thats what you're going to see.Plenty of millionaires yachts in the Marina.
Good break and would almost certainly go back to Hotel again, booked through Book & Stay.com although people were booking direct with Hotel.

We booked this hotel because our usual hotel (Levante at Cala Bona) was closed and we had been to the Palma Nova Palace before and had a great time, but my don't times change! 

when we were there 10 years ago this was a brand new hotel and it was excellent. Now it is a 10 year old hotel and it shows, we had to move rooms because of the noise from the ventilation ducting from the kitchen and we were on the 7th floor. The guests behaviour was a disgrace and was encouraged by two of the worst entertainment organisers we have ever encountered, what with the drinking games at night and the Karaoke twice a week this should be reclassified as an 18-30 hotel. We were disgusted to find we had been sold this holiday as a 4T+ only to be told by the Thomson rep it was actually a 3T, but only rates a 1 or maybe a 2 at most. These drunken louts were everywhere lying across the furniture, smoking in the no smoking area, there is nowhere in this hotel to escape the smoke and the noise even in your room you cannot escape as the walls are paper thin.

On the plus side the food was very good every day and the staff were friendly, if you were, the rooms were kept very clean and the resort has the finest miniature golf course we have ever played "Fantasia Golf" is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel and has 54 excellent holes to keep you amused for hours (it took us 5 hours to play all 54 stopping for refreshments after each 18 of course).

This was our first time all inclusive in Majorca and we were not disappointed. This hotel was clean, friendly and with unlimited great food and drink felt no need to go elsewhere. There were no children which was quite a change. We were on the fifth floor opverlooking beach and mountains and unfortunately the church which has bells ringing from 9am but soon got used to switching off to these.

The rep, Suzana, was loud, fizzy and kept everyone going. We especially had great fun joining in the games as there was a mix of all ages - 16 to 80.

The resort itself was spotless and did not lack entertainment or restuarants and the beach was cleaned every day and the sea was clean and warm.

I would not recommend this hotel to 18-30's but if you want a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of a lively resort (5 mins from beach, bars and entertainment) then this is the place to go.

We to had resavations,and they were indeed founded
Made the mistake of asking for a safe deposit box on arrival. 22Euros thinking you would get a partial refund at the end of the week YOU DONT. These safe's are keypad operated and they have to send someone up to show you how to set it up. (small card would have done)We were told 10 mins. We waited 30,I phoned reception who promised to send somone straight away. Then 1 hour passed and so was our holiday so we went out !!Got it sorted the following day.

Rooms were OK but on arrival my wife noticed a plaster on the floor near the toilet, it was still there 5 days later.
The resterunt was fine the lady manager and staff was smashing and helpful.Food was varied,nice,well cooked,plenty of it as we were all inclusive.

If you are one of these that like to stay round the pool then be prepared to be up around 6-7 am to get your towel on and reserve your sunbed. There is approx 50 beds serving this 250+ hotel.Complaining to the manager brought a one day response where he removed the towels into a pile much to the anoyance of the claimants!
Although its not a great walk to the beach it is down hill and on return in the heat it can be a bit trying if you have walking difficulties.

The prom in P/Nova is excellent for walking as it is long and flat ideal for wheelchairs,the beach has timber boarding to get prams and wheelchairs down to the water.There are full time life gaurds.

Loved the place, but would not go back to that hotel again. In my opinion only rates a 3*

Well well then!! After booking in May this year I decidded to try to find out a little more about the hotel etc.  Found this web site and must say that I really was apprehensive about going there but boy was I in for a shock!!

Hotel was winderful.  Very very clean and just what the doctor ordered.  We wanted a nice quiet peaceful hotel and this just suited right.  there was entertainment every night all be it the PA system was not working as there had been complaints by the local residents to the police but we made od.  The entertainment staff were very very loud but also really funny and made the best of a bad job.

We went half board and the food was fab, having worked in 4 star hotels in the UK the food was on a par and did change each night, yes there was chips but then us brits would moan if there wasn't!!  Breakfast was also good with lots of choices.

Drinks from bar were quite expensive but we stayed in and went out some nights so it didn't really matter.

Went out in Magaluf a few nights and was very gald we were not staying there.  Nothing wrong with it just wasn't what we wanted but it was only 5 euros in a cab if thats what you want.

Yes the average age of the guest was probably about 70 but it made a change as we had cobversations with people who we normally wouldn't talk to. 

If you wanted a loud girly holiday this is not for you, if you want a couple or quiet holiday this will be for you.

We are going to try to go again next year but there will be lots of us and 3 children so will have to go to a different hotel but would definately recommend Palma Nova.

Food was very good with plenty of choice each meal,Hotel staff very pleasant and willing to help(with the exception of one english receptionist who did just enough to keep her job).we were on top floor (8th)and had good views of Palma Nova.The room was air conditioned and cleaned daily by friendly staff,lifts to and from top floor were no problem no waiting.Hotel entertainment was typical hotel entertainment,some good someok some aargh.the outdoor activites were well patronised each day .

Enjoyed nights in Palma NOva at the Stadium Bar and Amigos Bar near Saga Nova Apts.beach was very clean but be on guard sister-in-law had bag taken.Went all inclusive didn,t stop hotel all night but went out for drinks,still found AI very good value would do same holiday again.

We where relocated to this hotel three days before our holiday by Expedia and after redaing some of the unfavorable reviews on the internet we where extremely apprehensive about going.
Upon arrival we where very surprised at how nice the hotel was. The rooms, although small where very clean and sufficient for two adults. The food was excellent- a wide selection that catered for everyone. Being on an All Inclusive you could literally eat all day long if you desired!!

The entertainment I felt was poor and was aimed towards the older visitors. Although All INclusive we did find ourselves going to other bars after a few drinks just to escape the dire acts!!
The location was excellent, just behind the Fantasia Golf and five minutes easy stroll from the beautiful beach. Definately on the quieter side of Palma Nova but with plently to do. This was definately a bonus when you needed sleep after a heavy night on the tiles!!

The pool area was very small in relation to the size of the hotel but I think this was because it does not cater for children under 13 years old- the beach being so close definately made up for this.
I would go back again, I have very fond memories of the place and would recommend it to anyone. I have stayed in various other places on the island and this is definately the best of the lot.

Some people on the web site commented that it should not be classed as a 4* but when you see some of the other hotels on the island you will see that you have chosen wisely.

We stayed at the Palma Nova Palace from 26th September until 4th October 2004 we stayed on a half board basis, this hotel was also all inclusive, when we arrived we were checked in by a very ignorant receptionist she did not seem to want to give us any information i had to ask what time meals were served and she threw me a leaflet i then had to ask where the lifts were after being thrown my room key then when i enquired about the safe she said she was busy and to come back later!!!

The room was on the seventh floor we had a double and a single bed a tv, air con, fridge and large balcony the view was excellent we could see the bay of palma nova and also the hills, the bathroom was also very nice apart from the smell of the drains which we told our thomson rep about, the next day the smell had gone but the day after it smelt again, luckily the bathroon had a window and if we kept that open and the bathroom door closed then it was just about bearable.

On the first evening we went down for dinner when we got out of the lift there must of been 30 people infront of us queing for the dining room after a 15 minute wait we were rushed round to a table and told to SIT!!! the dining room was extremely small and cramped, we then went to the buffet which was heaving with elderly people (time of year)and the choice was extremely limited also the salad was dried up the vegetables looked like slop and the main dishes consisted of chiken drumsticks swimming in grease and something which resembled boiled dones!!! needless to say we upped and left and went out for a meal. 

Next morning we went down for breakfast at 8am guess what another queue when we eventually got a table the orange juice tasted of bleach the coffee and tea were weak and the toaster took a lifetime to cook the toast, for the rest of the holiday we ate out although we did try the dining room once more and there must of been 50 people infront of us so we didnt bother.

The sun terraces where extremely cramped and didnt get much sun and the pool was freezing also the women doing the daytime entertainment would pester you to join in so we started to spend our days on the beach, the evening entertainment left alot to be desired especially when the elvis impersonator began singing frank sinatra and Jerry lee lewis songs???

This holiday was the most expensive self catering holiday i have ever been on and we would not recommend this hotel we will definately not be going back, the hotel is definately not a 4 star i would say 3 star at a push.
We changed our travellers cheques at reception who charged a hefty commision they also charged an extra 50 euros on the price of the daily papers which is just greedy.

On a brighter note the weather was excellent, also some of the best restaurants we ate at and would recommend are:
Real Dion
Le Petit Bistro
Son Matias BBQ (Near Santa Lucia hotel)
El Mecca (for breakfast)(Also nr Santa Lucia)
This hotel is for people over 70 who dont want to leave the complex and dont mind eating tasteless food.

i would have liked to have put a good review here about palma nova palace but !
on arrival on the 10/09/2004 we were informed by the hotel staff that there was no room in the hotel,and were bundled off to the panama hotel by taxi.
the panama hotel was apparently french run and majority of customers were french.
the hotel was a lot lower standard than palm nova palace and so our holiday was pretty well ruined.
while there we spoke to several other english couples who had been bumped from the palma nova palace !.they were also pretty annoyed.
wont be going to majorca again.

This particular hotel I would not class as a 'palace' The swimming pool was small with parts in the shade for the most of the day - we used the beach everyday (which is stunning)but is a 5min walk away.

The food in the hotel is unimpressive,the samesoup for 5 days - kept getting more watery - the main meals where slightly better. The rooms were a reasonable size with plenty of storage space and were cleaned everyday. I would not return to this hotel- however it is cheaper to stay at than the majority of hotels in the resort.

Palma Nove as a resort is excellent - I would not fault it. It is quiet enough to be realxing but not quiet enough to be boring. There are plenty of bars/resturants to chose from - the beaches and surroundings are beautiful! we've booked to go back to Palma Nova this summer - but not to the same hotel!

I would rec palma nova to anyone - especially 'Golf fantasia'which great fun for the young and old. There is plenty to do both day and night and is certinaly one of our favourite places to hliday.

The hotel was great.
Lovely for older people and couples not for a younge group.
but for a younge or middle age couple it was brilliant..!
The rooms were always clean and tidy.
and we had a fridge thank god..!
and air con which was def needed in the middle of aug...!
The pool was not very big but it was ok.
The food was lovely something different every nite...!
didnt stay in to see the entertainment although heard it was OK...!

You cant go wrong with location of the hotel only a couple of minutes walk from the lovely Palma Nova Beach.. and the center of Palma Nova.
did go in to Magaluf one nite but not at all impressed..!

You have2go and c the pirate show (adults one is excellent).

And some where very good at nite was the stadium karaoke bar that was the best with a different act every night like robbie williams .

i'd 100% go back to this hotel and palma nova... the best holiday EVER!!!!

We booked this holiday on the recommendation of our travel agent who informed us this would meet our request - total relaxation.How untrained was she. 4* is not the rating i would give this hotel. The room we were showed in the brochure was obviously a show room!!! The room we stayed in was small, cramped, and we had a mini bar for a fridge.As your electricity is operated by your key, when you leave your room your "fridge" switches off and the small volume of water you manage to store is warm by the time you return.

The entertainment was a disgrace. My 9yr old sister and her friends could have put on a better show!!

The pool reminds me of a postage stamp,and if your interested in staying by the pool during the day i suggest you reserve your lounger when you book your holiday. Obviously the warning  "Please observe other guests and do not place towels on loungers when your not using them" means nothing to some peolpe.
 
The rooms were very clean but be prepared for your maid arriving at 9am to clean.  God help you if you have a hangover or want a long lie one morning.

The resort and places outside the hotel were lovely. I would recommend the Stadium Bar, who had live entertainment every night.

The entertainment rep was obviously some relation to a Banshee, as we could hear her wails and screeches in the morning through the double glazed balcony doors and TWO sets of curtains!!!!

Our 2weeks were ruined by this poor excuse for a hotel. Not worth the fortune we paid.

Palma Nova Palace is in a good location, right near to the beach and Golf Fantasia.  The hotel was very nice, air conditioned throughout, rooms were cleaned everyday.  Reception staff were  ignorant.  The Pool was on the small side and you had to be up early to get a sunbed.  No pool games or lilos allowed (infact no fun allowed around pool, thats all the poolside sign was missing!). 
 
We stopped all inclusive and there were no problems getting served at the bar, just be aware that gangs of young people can now afford these types of holidays and can be very rowdy taking advantage of the "all inclusive bar" before heading off to Magaluf.  We would recommend the all inclusive at BCM's for 20.00 euros. 

Don't waste your time attending the rep's Welcome Meeting, the same excursions can be booked in town for a lot cheaper price.  The "Lazy Days Cruise" booked with the rep was a waste of money, falsely advertised as having free drinks, we just got a drink on boarding, a stale sandwich for lunch with no drink. The cruise only lasted 2 1/2 hours instead of all day and we had to walk back to our resort from Magaluf.  One rep, was a waste of time, he forgot to book our hire car which we arranged with him at the beginning of our holiday and spent half the day hanging around waiting.     

Overall, we would recommend this hotel and resort.  Just be aware that there is a Church next door to the hotel and the bells ring on the hour throughout the day!

Before going to this hotel we were very worried after what we had read on hotel internet reviews. When we arrived i was surprised to find the hotel very clean and the rooms very comfortable. 

It is true that this is NO 4 star hotel.  I would class it as a good 3 star. When we booked our holiday approx 8 months beforehand, i stated a room on highest floor which is what i got. I would advise people to do the same, as in past reviews people have mentioned a church that the bell tolls which if you are on a low floor close to the church it would annoy anyone. Also you get groups of lads and girls on holiday who are loud near lower floors. A bad point of being on 8th floor is that the showers run hot and cold. 

We were stopping all inclusive and found the food to be very good, the only bad thing i can say is breakfast,(spanish just can get it right can they)it was the usual bad bacon and cr*p bread and everything deep fried and greasy. Also being all inclusive we were allowed to have snacks during the day which were cold chips, cold croquetes, cold burgers (no buns) the same each day. 

The bar service was very good you never waited more than 2 minutes and they were very freindly except 1 (you always get one dont you). Reception was not freindly, they were very sharp with you and no politeness. If you are traveling with thomson, portland, tui do not go to welcome meeting, do not waste your time. All they do is try and sell you the day trips and give no useful information. They also state that they are the cheapest which is cr*p as we went to the kiosk on the main street and they were cheaper, all they want is their commission selling these trips. 

Do not go on the lazy dayz catarman trip, it is advertised as free food and drinks, when all you get is a drink when boarding and 1 stale sandwich for lunch. The best way to see the island is to hire a car but book it yourself as the rep who forgot to book ours and we lost half a days hire waiting outside the hotel. Would recommend BCM 20 euro all inclusive.

Please do not see the above and think that we are moaning i am picking out the major points of a holiday in which me and my wife enjoyed. We would go back again but to a different hotel purely on the basis that it is right on the edge of palma nova away from the action. This is a good hotel and if your cruise and staying remember a cruise ship is 5 star plus this is a 3 star hotel.................

i'd read reviews of this place after i'd booked and was quite worried about goin. but i was a lovely hotel. too far away from magaluf for my likin, 45min walk there and back every night!! but hotel lovely, food decent, reps wonderful, sorted out problems as if they were their own. 

pool area was nice, but not enough sunbeds to go around unless u were up early, not gonna happen after a night in magaluf!! and we were the youngest people there by far, not so good for a girly holiday away but for relaxin would be great. 

all in all, a good holiday, but will be stayin closer to magaluf this year!

We stayed at the Palma Nova Palace during the Whitsun holidays 2004. The journey from the airport was nice and quick, even though it was night time! On arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by grumpy faces by the lobby staff and they were squabbling in spanish, but it was so obvious they were talking about one of our party who was 13. The hotel has a no under 13s policy, but did they're attitude was disgraceful. After eventually being asked to join in their discussion and showing them his passport, oh then it was all change, and their slimey smiles appeared. The rooms were nice and kept really clean.

The reps were no-use at all, "oh I'll have to check with so and so" or "I'm not sure uhmmm!" Really helpful - Not!! Anyway, the complex was mainly full of old biddies and mutton dressed as lamb over fifty's who just peered down their noses at you from behind their huge cheap sunglasses and daily newspapers. The hotel had a pool which was nice, but everytime you went to use, you were gawped at, we just ignored them and carried on as if they weren't there. 

The hotel was really close to several lovely beaches we spent our time at the lovely beaches or at the aqua parks. The bar in the hotel was awful, more like a kitchenette in a hostel. The nighttime entertainment was awful but very funny at the same time, we couldn't stop laughing at the people complaining that the music was too loud or that they've seen it before. We didn't stay very long as those who were smoking filled the room was smoke, it was passive smoking at it's best!! 

The food was good and the staff there very friendly and pollite. A four star was probably pushing it, a three star hotel more like it! The reception staff were I'm sorry to say - useless! We had a slight accident, a cut finger, as the surgerys were closed on a saturday, we returned to the hotel, the english woman at reception was a right misery. She finally produced an empty printer toner box, which contained plasters, etc - this was their first aid box - we couldn't beleive it. As there was no first aider in the hotel so she got Marie-belle, the cook, to look at the cut finger. Marie-belle was wonderful, she cleaned and taped up the gash in no time.

We'd go back to Palma Nova again but not to the Palace. On the whole, the weather was great, the beaches were great, the food was good, but the hotel, I'm sad to say wa o.k. and boring.

Prior to going to the Palma Nova Palace i had read the reviews on this site and was apprehensive. But when i got there i was pleaseantly suprised. 

The hotel was nice and clean, the staff were friendly, the food was varied and nice (sometimes could have done with being a bit hotter) but basically we had no bad things to say about this hotel. All the people who complained in our hotel where from Cruise and Stays where they were used to being waited on hand and foot on cruise ships. I thought it was a 4 star and resulted in a fantastic holiday for the two of us. If people persist in moaning about the food etc may i suggest going to the Tigne Court in Sliema Malta then you would have something to complain about.

But as previously said the hotel was great and i would tell anybody to go there. Ye its a five minute walk to the beach but hey your ready for a drink when you get to the beach or get back to the hotel.

Fantastic Hotel, Fantastic Staff and Fantastic Resort.

The resort was OK considering the time of year but the hotel is nowhere near its 4 star rating.

I booked this last minute so had a single room. I was on the top floor with separate bedroom and bathroom across the other side of the corridor. If I was prepared to put up with this, I would have booked into a youth hostel. No TV (not that I really wanted one) and the safe door had been ripped off. Balcony was tiny and the bars on the fence were loose. No air-con or heating in this room, not even a blanket which you'll need at this time of year. Also the cleaning staff must have hearing problems as they knock then take no notice when you shout don't come in.
Asked the very patronising reception staff politely to be moved for a couple of days after which I think I was more stressed than when I left home. Eventually moved me but they weren't happy about it. Would still only rate the room I eventually got as a 3 star.

Airtours rep (saw her once during my stay) said she had only ever had one guest stay in that room and he also complained for exactly the same reasons.
Like other people have said, the food was repetitive and the choice very poor. Have stayed in 3 star hotels in Majorca which put this one to shame.

Well not sure where to start!

we landed in palma airport on the 2nd of october we was told to go to coach p32 we got there the coach was full and about to set off yeah great start! we had a word with a rep he went away came back asked to look at our tickets to prove we had payed for the transfer he told us to get on the coach and sit at the front no rep came on the coach with us! everyone was complaining. we arrived at Palma nova palace and just abandoned with our luggage we went into the hotel booked in payed £30 for a safe for 2 week thaught that was bit expensive £30 to keep out passports, money,tickets  etc safe.

we got to our room we was on the 2nd floor the room was very clean with T.V(3 english channels)fridge and a hairdryer (no good to women with thick/long hair good job we took our own!after we had eventually got unpacked lunch had finished so we decided to go for snacks which consisted of hotdogs boiled hamburgers pizza and rubbery/cold chips oh and stale bread yeah we decided to give it a miss .

we went down to the bar they had a very good selection of different spirits all local drinks but they were just like the 1s at home they had san miguel and soft drinks.there was mainly old people in the hotel we felt like children! anyone under 50 stood out like a sore thumb.
the resort itself was good with a good range of bars,restarants and shops.
about 2 minute walk from the hotel is a crazy golf place which was great fun and resonably priced works out a little bit cheaper to get your ticket from the hotel reception.

We attended the thomson welcome meeting which was informal but basically they were trying to sell there excursans they all work out cheeper if you go yourself on the buses. Theres a marineland about a 20 minute drive from the hotel which was a good afternoon out they do a parrot show and a dolphin and sea lion show (great fun) again a little bit cheeper if you get your ticket from hotel reception.
The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained.

The food well what can i say it was all the same nearly with a poor choice the food was never hot just warm there was allways veal  just cooked in different ways and a different fish they was allways chips and a different form of potatoes ,2 soups on a evening and 1 on a dinner time there was allways a small selection of salads and hard bread rolls the best meal was breakfast they was a full english and continential plus cereals.

they was a daily and nightly entertainment programme there was 2 entertainers who was very good and worked very hard they was friendly and helpfull they did a quiz and bingo every night followed by a act (singers,comidians,dancers and karaoke)the bingo was expensive we worked it out and we had spent nearly £100 on bingo playing 3 cards each every night.

they was alot of thefts in the hotel ranging from cash,duty free,cameras and towels.

Reception sell daily newspapers but its much cheeper to get them in town they also do exchange poor exchange rate and they charge commision we took travellers cheques in euros but would of worked out better if they had been sterling.

the pool is small and if you want a sun lounger you have to be queing at 9am when they get unlocked or you have no chance of getting one due to people putting towels down on the loungers and going out for the day!
theres a few good bars in palmanova we enjoyed a karaoke bar called cheeks and another called stadium they have a live act on every night aswell as karaoke.

First of all this is not a 4 star hotel, 3 star would be better. The rooms are o.k comfortable but cramped. food is very good with a good selection. Staff are friendly but are over worked. The pool area is small,nothing like in the brouchre, better to go to the beech, 5 min walk away.Now for the entertainment, it was terrible, we had a young girl rep with the voice from hell doing it, in the evening and every evening it was a quiz followed by bingo then a turn, it was so bad,best to walk down the front plenty to do there.

Now for the trips on offer, DONT take the Thompson trip the hotel does the same trips and will cost 40-50% cheaper with the same result. Anyway we didnt hardly see our rep, went for the first day meeting and they didnt turn up. One good thing about the place was that it was all Brits staying there.Palma nova is very nice and clean with very good beech.
Have fun and dont drink to much.

I have been to Palma Nova before and it has been great, but this hotel has to be the WORST hotel i have been in for a while.  It is no way a 4* hotel and barely a 3*.  We never normally comlain but booked this hotel because it was our honeymoon and was supposed to have no small children.  Instead it was like a 18-30's hotel with groups of hen parties and young groups of guys.  The food was good but repetitive and the entertainment was rubbish.  The security in the hotel is very poor and the door handle in our first room fell off.  Everyone was complainig about this and the fact the balcony doors never locked in most of the rooms.  The rooms are very basic and the pool is tiny with very limited sunbeds.

Our other room we moved to had ants running about in and the bath was disgusting.  When we had a freak storm the hotel got flooded and the entertainment moved inside, which is very smoky with no air-conditioning on and the seats need a good clean.

I would not recommend going to this hotel EVER and the money Thomsons is asking for it is a rip-off.

Palma Nova itself is a lovely resort with plenty of bars and good nightlife.  Golf Fantasia is excellent and so is Son Amar.  Son Amar is a brillant night out and well worth the money for all ages.  Another bar which is good is the Stadium, but watch out as the drinks are a rip-off nearly 13 euros for 2 smirnoff ices, Wait until happy hour which is but one get one free.  Please BEWARE of this hotel as it is definitely not up to standard.

Just returned from 1st all inclusive holiday - BRILLIANT.
Bit taken aback by some of comments about this hotel - we had a fabulous time.
Food was excellent all week - rooms very clean -staff friendly.
Some holiday makers seemed to delight in complaining about anything and everything - we would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday without small children running around. 
Well situated - air conditioning a God-send.
Only 1 initial worry and that was the size of the pool however it was never too full and we spent time there each day just chillin.

Met some great people who also seemed to be having good time.
Would recommend a visit to the Fantasy golf- just around the corner. We payed ?8.15 for three courses and spent a good few hours getting around 2. Passes out are avaialable so we decided to go back in the evening and play our final course in the dark.The course is well lit and is really good at night.

AFTER THE FIRST FEW DAYS PASSED WE HAD TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SEVERAL DISORDERLY GUESTS WHO SEEMED TO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO ANNOY AND INTIMIDATE OTHER GUESTS BY SPLASHING AROUND THE POOL AREA, THROWING UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE IN AND GENERALLY BEING OFFENSIVE AND ABUSIVE TOWARDS OTHERS.

WE FEEL THAT THE THOMSON REPS HAD NEITHER THE NECESSARY TRAINING, SKILLS NOR AUTHORITY TO DEAL WITH THESE BULLIES, WHO AFTER BEING TOLD OFF COMPLETELY IGNORED THE REPS WARNINGS. THEY SEEMED TO TAKE GREAT ENJOYMENT FROM THEIR BAD BEHAVIOUR AND RUINING OTHERS HOLIDAYS.

NOT ONLY WERE THERE DISRUPTIVE GUESTS AROUND THE SWIMMING POOL AREA THERE WERE OTHERS WHO WERE THROWING THINGS FROM THE BALCONIES ONTO THE SOCIAL AREA INCLUDING LIT CIGARETTES WHICH WERE LANDING ON PEOPLE, NOTHING SEEMED TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS, AGAIN IT WAS NOT SAFE TO SIT THERE IN THE EVENING DURING THE ENTERTAINMENT.

THERE WERE RATS RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE RETAINING WALL BY THE OUTDOOR SOCIAL AREA.

AND FINALLY ON THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING THE COACH NEVER PICKED US UP, EIGHT PEOPLE WERE WAITING FOR THE SAME COACH TO THE AIRPORT WHICH SHOULD HAVE COLLECTED US BY O9.05 BY 09.50 WE HAD TO PHONE THE THOMSON LINE ONLY TO BE TOLD THE COACH WAS FULL BEFORE GETTING TO THE PALMANOVA PALACE AND TO GET SOME TAXIS TO THE AIRPORT. 

THOMSON'S SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY WERE DUE TO PICK UP AND ARRANGED ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT FOR US BUT THEY DID NOT SEEM BOTHERED THAT EIGHT PEOPLE WERE LEFT STRANDED AND PANICKED AT NOT BEING ABLE TO GET TO THE AIRPORT TO CHECK IN ON TIME. THE REPS AT THOMSON DESK AT THE AIRPORT  DID GIVE US OUR TAXI FARE BACK BUT WE HAD PAID FOR TRANSFERS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP BY COACH ON TIME.

OUR HOLIDAY COST US £1671.38 AND WE SPENT AT LEAST £250 MORE THAT WE BUDGETED FOR ONCE WE GOT THERE DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE THE HOTEL EACH DAY TO FIND SOME PEACE AND RELAXATION.

THOMSON DO NOT CARE ABOUT DECENT GUESTS AND THE REPS AT THAT PARTICULAR HOTEL SEEM TO WORRY MORE ABOUT WHAT THE YOBS WILL DO TO THEM RATHER THAN DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY. ALL THE TALK AT THE WELCOME MEETING MEANS NOTHING AND THE ONLY TIME THAT THE REPS ARE INTERESTED IN YOU IS WHEN YOU SPEND MONEY ON EXCURSIONS.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Flew with Britannia but the flight was delayed by 10 minutes whilst we had to wait for Judith Chalmers, Ruth England and entourage from WISH YOU WERE HERE, to come from the VIP lounge. Flight was good and arrived on time.
Had to pay ecotax at reception on arrival before room was allocated but room was ready on arrival at 12.45pm when lunch was being served from 1pm, having travelled all since 2am this was a good start to our stay.

We have stayed at this 4* hotel twice previously and booked again this year as were aware that the majority of guest were from our age group. However this year the hotel we inundated with large groups pf singles ie one group was of 16 males aged, I would guess, between 18-25. Whilst they caused no problems in the pool or food areas, they were intersperesed in rooms where they were waking up other guest at any time between 3am and 7.30am. Our room was situated between 2 rooms containing these guest. They were also bringing femlaes back to there rooms who were not, to say the least, the quietest individuals.

Jusat to add insult to injury, these large groups of singles had mostly booked last minute deals and had paid less than half of what we had paid. I expect better from a 4* hotel.

The accomodation itself was basic but the cleaning staff were excellent and we had 4 changes of sheets in our 2 weeks stay which because it was so exceptionally hot for the time of year was very welcome as also, was the air conditioning in each room. The staff were mostly very friendly with the exception of one middleaged Spanish recetionist who treated guest as if they were a complete nuisance, she did not even have the manners to say please or thank you even when spoken to in Spanish, however all other staff were very very helpful and pleasant although they were very short staffed. The staffing problem was evident when we noted that the head waiter did not have a day off whilst we were there in 14 days.

The resort itself is excellent, we have been going there for the last 20 years and would still go back but not to this hotel.

Food was varied in choice and there was something for everyone to choose from. This year we noticed that the hotel has started to use plastic glasses for drinks around the pool and entertainment area. We thought this a good idea as on a previous visit we noticed how many glasses were broken around the pool, which is very unsafe as you walk around with no shoes on, we has no such concernes this year.

On the whole I was disappointed with the hotel in that I feel the standard is not now that of a 4*, although this is a package and all inclusive I feel that standard ought to be higher. WE have stayed in 3* hotels with a higher standard than this.

The hotel was upto the Star rating that was stated and we found all the staff very helpfull. All though most of the personnel staying there were on the older side the hotel did cater for all ages above the requirment age of 13. There was differtent activities everyday consisting of Rifle Shooting, Table Tennis, Shulan, Archery etc weather permiting. We both found the food to be of a good standard especially when they had the carvery on twice a week. The entertainment was very good having Profesional acts on 5 times out of the week the other two nights consisted of Karaoke and a show put on by the Reps. There is also plenty of things to do around the area as it is only a short walk to Magaluf with all its shops (which the wife enjoyed) and bars. On arrival you get a welcome meeting from the reps who are there to get you to book the excursions my advice is take a look around first as you can book the same excursion possibly cheaper at some of the booking offices in town and also through reception. All in all my wife and I had a lovely 2 week holiday and would not hesitate returning to this hotel in the future.

This is a hotel with no children under the age of 13, and to be honest there were no children there at all!  When we got there at the beginning of June, it was totally the oposite to children, more like OAP's!  But by our second week, there were a lot more people in our age range.

The pool was quite small and if you wanted a sun bed you had to be prepared to get up at the crack of dawn.

The hotel was very clean and so were the rooms, couldn't have wished for any better.

The bar closed at midnight on the dot and you had to leave the pool area and sit inside.  The entertainment was not good at all, although some nights were better than others.

We found that a lot of people that were there had been before so it was pretty much a regulars hotel.

It was just about to be taken over by another hotel group so not sure if it would be as good or not.

Loved the resort too!  Would go back without a doubt!

Booked Ola Club Panama through Holidayroomsdirect. Was very sceptical as we hadn't booked online before but worked out great.  We paid £182 for two people, all inclusive for 5 days, which we thought was great value. Panama was, as I had read on reviews, very dated and could do with refubishment.  However, rooms were spotlessly clean and maids were in every day.  

Food was excellent value with a good variety for lunch and evening dinner, although dinning room was very cramped when full.  The bar was self service which meant you never had to queue.  Hotel was a few minutes walk from the beach and Palma Nova is a lovely resort.  Beach is beautiful and clean.  The only down side is that the hotel is on a busy and noisy road and traffic starts quite early in the morning.  The majority of the rooms face the road so there really isn't any escaping it. 

All in all we had a very enjoyable break but if you like little luxuries (such as glasses to drink out of, not plastic cups) while on holidays, this hotel is not for you.  If you like standard amenities, good value for money then it is for you.

Hotel was fantastic!

We were transferred there from another Ola hotel in Portal Nous called the Tomir.

Hotel Panama was all inclusive. The meals were fantastic with a great selection of food every day. There was also a snack bar opened from 10am - 11pm every night with a very good range of food and drinks available all day.

There was a good mixture of people - mostly French with a few Dutch and English & Irish. This was great because the French people were very family orientated and there were no all day or all night drinking sessions going on and no drunken parents & out of control children!

The kids club was excellent. They really made an effort to include all of the children. Great shows and entertainment every night. Palma Nova is also a very nice place with a beautiful beach and unlike Portal Nous, not a rock in sight!

We have booked this again this year. Would highly recommend it!

we arrived at panama at about 11.30am, we were greeted with a warm welcome, we had a look around the hotel only to find that we were one of a few english families the rest of the guests were french at first we felt a bit intimidated, but they were all freindly come the 2-3 day alot more english people had arrived and the twins had made freinds.  there is a nice park for the kids the swimming pool also has a schute in this is good for the big kids as well, there is also a life guard on duty between 11-7pm.  pool was very clean.  you could alos use the jacuzzi gym free of chargr although we never used them.  you can book watersportas through the hotel for a reduced price - we done jetski we paid 10E it should have been 70E.

the food was very nice with plenty of choice even for the kids i.e. chicken nuggets, fish fingers.  picnics were available.  A snack bar was avilable outside of meal times were cut meats were avaiable tuna, cakes chrisps and fruit.  the bar shuts at 11pm on a night so you have to stock up your fridge in your room full of drinks. 

the rooms are basic but have fridge bath shower air conditioning.  the maids came in everyday to make beds sweep the floors and they changed your towels every other day. 

The entertainment team were great they are always trying to involve you, the kids entertainers were great too, they would play with the kids in the park or take them to the mini cub room were they could colour in paint watch videos the twins loved them on a night time there was a mini disco were they would give free tickets to the water park or marieland.  The evening entertainment was always a professional show a lot of effort always went in to them.

our holiday this year was very good and i would definatley recommnend this hotel.

We didn't book here but transferred from Ola Maiouris near Arenal.  We were so glad we did - along with 16 other people that week.  Nothing wrong with Maiouris itself but it was in the middle of nowhere and 99 % German which meant there was no company or entertainment for us.

This hotel is 3* but compares to the 4* Maiouris favourably.  The only down side in comparison was plastic cups for drinks outside the restaurant - so what when the bar is self service and well stocked !! It closed at 11pm but then if you fetched a couple of extra drinks just before !!!

The reception staff were all friendly and helpful.  English was spoken by all of them and all the entertainment staff, thought French was the dominant language of most.  The entertainment was always in English as well as French, so at least we understood what was going on.

The rooms are clean and we think they are refurbishing as Ola have just taken over this hotel.  The bathroom is small but fully equiped even with a hairdryer.  There was a fridge in room.  Most important there was a double bed (and a single with another tucked under) there were a table and chairs in the room and relaxers on the balcony.  Hangoing space good for 2 but would be tight for a familyof 4.

Pool was pleasant and palm trees give shade.  No saving of beds allowed !  Few people here as the lovely beach is so close.  Gym, jacuzzi, sauna and a massage all free.  But beware you have to book the day before, and you need to do that at 3pm for jacuzzi and massage or you won't get in.  We were not made aware of this as there were no signs or information books in english.  Any information given was not given in English (apart from entertainment board) so unless you routed around and asked you were not aware what was going on.  Pool towels were available too.
Restaurant was good enough.  What you could expect from 3*.  Plenty of choice - even if it did seem strange to have battered veg for breakfast !  Loads of salad stuff if you didn't like the main courses.  Good desert selection and freash fruit.  Daytime snacks ok.  The packed lunch knocked spots of the 4* we had come from. 
The resort is lively but not brash.  The beaches are sandy and clean and quite large.  Usual seaside shops and bars, but all very pleasant.  This is ideal for couples and families.  Singles and livelys could easily walk to Maguluf for the louder stuff - only 10 mins walk.

We didn't need to eat out once.  Some did but then they didn't exept thatfood was not all traditinally english.  We didn't even drink out unless we were out for the day.  So all inclusive meant that.  All we needed was petrol for the hire car and money for pressies.

There was a wonderful person statue on the prom.  If you see a white lady do stop and give her some money and she will blow you a kiss.  So serene and beautiful.  The chap painting there was so talented - ask and he will do things in the colours you want and change the pics to suit you.

Caves of Drac - I knew they were wonderful as I'd been there years before. But I didn't think it was the same !  We realised we were in the wrong caves !  They looked so convincing as you approach Porto Cristo !  Make sure you are in the right ones !!!  Go on into the town to find Drac. 
Inca Market is the biggest - and remember they all have same stuff.  Barter or loose ! We started at 120 and ended up buying for 30 on one item.  They will tell you they are the real mackoy but they oh so aren't !  Smell to find leather. No leather smell - no leather.

Hire a car.  You can choose not to pay fro transfers from airport with most companies and that goes towards the cost of a car.  Also trips cost a fortune.  In the long run its cheaper even for two to hire a car.  Get aircon for sure.
We went up in the mountains where a coach would not go.  Real Spanish life and nobody in sight for miles over the rugged landscapes.  Take the main route through Port Andraxt (stop there) then go on round into the mountains - spectaculor is not the word !  Soller can be reached from Palma on a rickety old train if you don't want to negotiate the hair pins.

Drive up to Cala Fornells near Paguera and find the most beautiful coves for swimming with the fishes.
The hotel is situated where you can park your car.  You can walk around resort in the evenings, try the prom that goes round the headland to Magaluf as well as the main one.
Yes we were pleased we made the move to the Panama and Palma Nova.  Both we would gladly visit again !

read all reviews before going and were satisfied with our choice, good basic accommodation, good pool, no loud youths, close to all amenities, cook needs to learn to be jolly! one side of complex has road running past, can get a bit noisy at night. did not like magaluf too much of a blackpool, not for us, but palma nova very clean with good beaches plenty of bars, if you want good food with good service you must try Portifino restaurant, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for, very nice! would recommend saboners and palma nova anytime!

In an ideal location for Magaluf and Palma Nova and the beach, you can't really get it any better.  Hotel is tidy and clean and well maintained by staff. You don't have to be out your room untill 12 midday on departure, but word of warning, if you have a late flight and want to keep your room on then book it when you book the holiday - with us going in pretty much low season i thought it would be ok to just ask and pay when we got there but it was already booked up solid.  Alot of people in the hotel that we talked to were returning holidaymakers which shows you how good the accomodation is, good value for money.

Practical stuff - you can only get 300 euros out of the cash machines per day, there are 3 machines at the bottom of the road opposite Papis bar (really good fresh food!)Good exchange rate.  I was quite surprised to find alot of the perfumeries and clothing (French Connection etc)shops would accept GBP, which worked out cheaper than paying in euro, there are good deals to be had!

Didn't really eat out all that much as we had a dodgy paella from one of the beach front restaurants, so was overjoyed to find a Subway sandwich shop which is situated beside Eastenders karaoke bar.

Prices of drinks vary, 2 vodka and coke was 10 euros in most bars, sometimes you get free shots as well!  2 bottles of wicked in the hotel bar was 8 euros, chicken and chips 5.50 euros so not bad at all. 

We liked Torrenova which is a lot calmer than the strip but with a good atmosphere, the PR people will walk on water to try and get you into their bars, I was really cheeky and said i would only go in if they played Snow Patrol and a few of my other favourites and each one did!  So i got my own personal DJ for the night for free!

We are booking up for next year in these apartments, not least as there is a really hot hotel barman  called Nicolas!!!  He could melt your calypo with  one flash of his brown eyes!

Have fun everyone, wether you are going to party or with the family you won't regret going to saboners.

Just got back from our holiday & wish we were back there! The weather was great - hot hot hot!

The apartments were in good condition & clean & all rooms have large balcony with pool view. The pool is really clean & is set in tropical gardens. V nice. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Even the entertainment was ok - we saw a hypnotist which was hilarious. These apartments are great for families and couples - wouldn't recommend them for singles.

The resort itself is very nice although Palma Nova was more for couples and the older generation & families. We walked into Magaluf most days which is a 10 min walk. There is much more to do here eg water sports, boat trips plus you must go & see Pirates show - really good night out. There are 2 water parks to keep you going although Wester Water Park is apprently the best as it also has shows. Also there are no clubs in Palma Nova but plenty in Magaluf! Really good nights out here. Must go to BCM 20 euros to get in  - free bar all night plus free gifts! Im glad we weren't staying in Magaluf itself as i doubt we'd get any sleep as most places are open until 6am!

I would definitely recommend these apartments and this resort but if you're after some culture - forget it

We have just got back from probably the best holiday we've had.  Palmanova is a great place for a quiet family holiday.  The beaches are great and the pool at the apartments was lovely.  The pool and surrounding area were well kept and we had no complaints about our apartment, other than the lack of a sharp knife in the cutlery drawer.  We had been advised to go to Florida bar and Tom Browns and did so and found these both to be good value for money, especially Tom Browns, who had an extensive childrens menu.  We also had a fantastic meal in a "real" spanish restaraunt called Meson Son Caliu. Pricey but well worth it. Recomended by the receptionist in the apartments.  The kids club was great, really friendly girls there, especially Vicky and Gemma.  We visited both aqualand and western waterpark but preferred aqualand as it wasnt as spread out as western waterpark.  Tip for that if you go to Mcdonalds on the beachfront and get happy meals you get a voucher for free child entry to the waterparks.  we saved quite a bit doing that. 

All in all we would highly recomend these apartments and this resort.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Spent a week in the Playa C'as Saboners in Palma Nova in late August.

The accommodation:
In a word: excellent. If you prefer self-catering you can't go far wrong with Saboners. The rooms are spacious, most of the balconies are large, the pool area is excellent (large pool, plenty of sun beds, no over-officious life guards blowing whistles every time someone accidentally splashes someone else) and there is plenty to do there (pool, table tennis, arcade games, internet portals, bar, big screen showing football, decent snack bar, organised entertainment on a night and games of water polo during the day).

The rooms have a TV, two-hob oven and microwave. They are also air-conditioned (which we found very effective and not too noisy). We did spot a few ants here and there, but not enough to cause concern. Other than that, the cleanliness of the place and the maid service could not be faulted.

The location is right where Palma Nova meets Magaluf, meaning you're nearer the Magaluf strip than you would be if you were staying in Magaluf itself, you're a three-minute walk from the beach, and Palma Nova is easily accessible. That said, the surrounding area was quiet.

The clientele tends to mainly be families. During our week we encountered no noisy behaviour or rowdiness until our final day, when a couple of noisy gangs did check in.

The resorts:
We barely went into Palma Nova. It was very attractive when we did, but the pool and facilities at Saboners meant we had little reason to leave our accommodation during the day. We did walk along the beach near the apartments though, which was very impressive, and we went to the Fantasia, which is a 54-hole crazy golf course. This was excellent and took up a full afternoon, but was well worth it.

Whenever we ate out we seemed to find a high quality restaurant. The pizzas at the restaurant near the Saboners (Soprano's?) were quite poor, but if you walk towards the beach from the apartments and take your first right, stay on this road and eventually you'll end up at Flavours. The staff here are very friendly and the ribs they do were worth going to Majorca for alone.

The nightlife is also excellent. We've been to many of the lively resorts on the Med and found Magaluf to have a better variety of bars and clubs than anywhere else. Whatever your tastes are, you will be catered for. The two indie bars were very good. The main problem, however, is the reps. Some of their tactics to get you into their clubs bordered on assault. Not good.

All in all, the apartments and the resort come highly recommended. There seemed to be something for everyone in Palma Nova and Magaluf, and the Playa C'as Saboners is the ideal place to see it from if you want to stay self-catering.

We have just returned back from the playas cas saboners and we were very pleased. 

The swimming pool was very clean and large. there was plenty of sun loungers even though you still had to get up early to claim your sunbed. We were very pleased with the apartments. Every apartment has a veiw of the pool. you get a kettle free of charge and all the usual stuff like saucepan etc. (even though we never ate in!) There is a television. You have to pay 3 euros for 24 hours to get the english channels. These are sky news, bbc1, bbc2, cbeebies etc. the apartments are very clean and spacious with maid service 3 times a week. the staff are very friendly and are always there to help. The staff are brilliant with the children and are a great laugh. The snack bar is very reasonable for food, but is very expensive for drinks. There is a supermarket right next to the apartments and here it is very reasonable for your needs. 

The beach is only a minute away! as you come out of the complex on the right is some steps. down the steps is the beach. the weather was fairly dissapointing this year as there was a number of thunderstorms. Because of the weather conditions there was a huge problem with mossy bites. i reccomend you take solutions with you as the prices are cheaper here. I reccomend you go to pirates. absolutly brilliant! we went to see the uncut version and had a fabulous time. Remember to get your tickets by the beachfront. NOT by the rep as it is must cheaper there. Im sure you will have a brilliant time at these apartments! you will not want to go home. Dont listen to any bad reviews! trust me i have been to so much worse!!!

Hi, just had a lovely week in palmanova,this is the second time we have been here.

The beach is fantastic,clean and great for the kids,and easy to get to with buggies,weather was great sunny every day!,The apartments was basic, the entertainment what we seen was ok,swimming pool was lovely but watch your children as they walk in to it, my four year old slipped on the tiles and banged her head,and i seen a few other kids do it whilst we was there.if you just want a base there fine,and the location is good.

palmanova is a lovely place,we really enjoyed our week and wished we had gone for two! we will go back to palmanova,and maybe these apartments if we couldnt find anything else.

My husband and I booked these apartments after trawling through a number of brochures. The main reason we chose them was the fact that it looked to have a decent pool and it offered creche facilities for our son.

We were really impressed when the coach dropped us off - the reception area was a low-rise glass-fronted building which you walked through to reach the pool. The apartments are built in a horseshoe shape around a central pool area, and every apartment had a patio/apartment which overlooked the pool. There were also three lifts, all in working order, so we didn't have to carry our cases/buggy up the stairs.

The apartment was cleaned every other day except weekends, with linens and towels changed every time. The apartment itself was quite large, especially the bedroom, which comfortably fit two single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and our son's travel cot. The kitchen area was quite small with a breakfast bar which made access to the living room quite dificult with the buggy. However, there was plenty of room in the hallway which is where we tended to park it.

The kitchen had a microwave which was great for warming our sons food. However, there was no toaster supplied which we found a bit bizarre. These can be rented at an additional cost, but we just had bread instead of toast.

The balcony was the largest I have ever had in all my years of holidaying abroad and our son absolutely loved it. It doubled the size of the living area.

The pool was cleaned every single day and there was a man pruning trees/weeding etc on a daily basis as well. The complex was well cared for. There was a small amusement bit for the kids with trampolines and stuff, and plenty of tables to sit at.

We did not eat in the snack bar but it looked to have a varied menu and there were plenty of people eating.

We used the creche facility about 5 times during the fortnight we were there. Our son really enjoyed it, even though there didn't appear to be that many toys. It was an ideal place for him to play out of the sun for a couple of hours. The charge was 15 euros per 2 hour session, and we thought it was good value for money.

We had a fantastic holiday. The only negative I can think of was the sunbed situation. There weren't that many anyway, and the complex was not even full. However, people with ground-floor apartments were taking them for themselves and using them on their own patio areas. Also, the 'You must not reserve sunbeds' rule was not enforced in any way by the hotel officials.

There is loads to see and do at Palma Nova/Magalluf, and the area is really family-friendly with loads of playground areas for the kids. The beaches are absolutely immaculate and the sea is lovely and clear with not much seaweed around.

I would recommend these apartments to anyone.

Apartments are situated close to the beach, either down approx 5 flights of stairs which can get tiring on a night, although can easily access by going down the hill (not steep). Very good location easy access in to Magaluf or Palma Nova, far away from all hustle and bustle and annoying reps. Only problem we found-using bath runs out of hot water faster than using shower! Pool was cold but lovely once in. Staff @ apartments are very helpful, polite, could not fault any of them. Good Tip -apartment phone is so much cheaper to use than pay phones outside. Very reasonable safe hire approx 3euros per day, and deposit refunded @ end of stay. 

Will definately be using these apartments again when visiting Majorca!

We stayed in Playas Cas Saboners in August 2005.  

The resort was very good, the beaches were lovely, lots to see and do.  However, the brochure was described as a family hotel, which it was to a certain extent, but still had noisey teenagers, but the security of the hotel dealt with difficult individuals.  However, what the brochure does not tell you is that half of this hotel is in a nice quiet location, but the other half where we stayed was right next to a main road with 3 junctions off of it and it was literally like staying in the middle of the M1.  The noise from the traffic was constant and did not ever get quiet and it was impossible to sleep.  I resorted to sleeping in the living room every night with my son, but this still did not help me sleep and some nights I was awake until 4/5 a.m. Not good when you go away for a rest, so bear this in mind when you book.  And yes we did ask to be moved but the hotel and reps were extremely unhelpful!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Cas Saboners and have had a great time. The accomodation is spacious but showing its age in places, the rooms are cleaned frequently with clean towels provided every other day,the air conditioning is great although a little bit noisy. the snack bar in the hotel is cheap and nice with a varied menu. The bar staff Marcos Oscar and Toni are fantastic always very funny and efficient and I can thoroughly recommend their sangria and harvey wallbangers. The bar prices are very reasonable and there are special prices from 21.30 to midnight.

The JMC reps are very nice and the welcome meeting relatively short and informative and not just a sales pitch, also at the apartments is Dee a sun care consultant who gives advice on safety in the sun and tanning , after years of enduring  prickly heat I took her advice and bought her products which cost 17 euros each and had a prickly heat free holiday as all the products she sells are natural products. 

Entertainment in the hotel is watchable and mainly led by Jacko the entertainer who the kids loved, every Sunday their is the hypnotist who is very good but I felt personally that he did not have a lot of patience with the children in the audience who were making a noise,which is what children do n holiday. There is also a parrot show, dancers and acrobats which all seemed ok to watch after a few sangrias.The kids reps were brilliant especially Jenn and Mikey.The best resteraunt that we found to eat out was  El Mecca across the road and down some steps and we would also recommend Naaweb, if you like indian food which is situated on Magalluf beach front.

We booked this the day before we left, it was all we could get and we were a bit dubious. however we were pleasantly surprised, large rooms, nice reception area (more like a hotel).
as we had arrived early morning, we went straight to bed, got up at 11.30 and not a spare sunbed in sight so we spent the first day exploring.
That night we ended up in Magalluf, too busy for us but a good night if thats your thing.Try whispers bar,for friendly hosts.

We spent the rest of our holiday nights in Palma Nova,much more our thing. There are plenty of nice places to eat out, try EL MECCA, FLORIDA, MARTINS MESON, (LOVELY PAELLA EXCELLENT SERVICE).If you just want a drink, Boro Boro bar cheapish, Scots bar usually has good comedy DVDs on.
The Anchor bar had just opened when we were there,quiet but good barman.
Tropico cocktail bar very good,with free peanuts with every round of drinks.
Prices are very reasonable, not as cheap as Tenerife but still ok, plenty of good offers for meals and drinks.
The apartments are ideal if you have young children, everything you could wish for on site - mini disco, family entertainment,late bar and food, playground, trampolines, good pool, even a resident hair braider!

The only things that spoiled this place for us, was the road noise and the lack of sunbeds. Even the sunbeds that are there coud do with being replaced as many are broken.

Cas Saboners: Amazing. 

I went there with my seven year old daughter and was quite apprehensive about spending two weeks on my own with a seven year old.  Although I needn't have worried.  Everyone at the Cas Saboners was really frielndly.  Jessica fell in love with most of them behind the bar especially, Toni, Oscar and Marcos.  Every night she would go running up to them hugging them, she even helped clear the tables one evening.  Although I suspect she just wanted a kiss and a hug from Toni!

The Kids club was really good, although she missed a couple, as she slept in a few mornings.  The pool was really nice and the whole complex seemed very secure. 

The entertainer, Jaco, was brilliant.  He kept all the kids and even adults entertained day and evening.  All you could hear from the kids were shouts of
'What is this right now' and 'COME ON', which were two of Jaco's favourite sayings.  He spent alot of time getting to know adults and the kids, and we all thought alot about him...... 

I will definitely be going back!!!!

We arrived end of July & just by luck we had just missed a few young guests that were evicted due to noise. The Aptmts were ok Maid service was a bit below standard only made the beds in the bedroom and not the kids bed, also towels only changed 3 times in ten days.complex is good for the kids with kids clubs most morning and evenings and diff shows in the bar most nights. the pool is a very good size but it is over 6 foot deep in a few places which was a bit of a worry especially with smaller kids.
there is also a road behind the complex which is very noisy at night.

the hotel is in a great location only 2mins from beach and centre of palma nova, and only about 5 mins to centre of magaluf (which is good to walk through but is a bit too mental late on for younger kids).
plenty of shops and places to eat in palma nova but I would not say its the best resort for kids as the pubs dont really cater for them as they do in places like alcudia.
weather was great and all in all we had a great time, I dont think I would go back to palma nova with young children but if I had to I would definetly stay in these apts again as they are family friendly and reps and kid clubs were excellent

WE all travelled out here on 7th may 2005 for 2 weeks .Didnt really know what to expect and was a bit weary because our holiday the previous year was diabolical.

When we arrived there we couldnt beleive our eyes,the complex was excellent,better than we all thought it would be. The complex was spotless.The pool was great with childrens play area right next to it,also there was a toilet block with showers which looked like they were new and spotlessly clean.

The accomodation had twelve apartments per block with a lift and stairs up to your rooms.Rooms were very clean and tidy and they were very generous with bedding.they also leave you complmentary soap,shampoo & shower gel in the bathroom.Plenty of towels aswell.

You get a cooking hob,microwave,fridge & elerctric kettle in the rooms.You can also hire toasters if you want (dontknow how much they were though)but we just used a toasting pan.Iron hire is 12 euros per week but you have to put a 20 euro deposit down which you get back .You can hire anything from babies buggies to them moterised cars old people use.They have safes in the rooms but you have to hire a key from reception ,it wasnt that cheap but worth while.

There is alot of entertainment that goes on in the complex at night time eg;acrobats,hypnotist show;parrot show from marineland just to name a few.There is entertainment put on earlier in the night for the kids usually a disco competitions & facepainting.kids clubs also run but be warned you do sometimes have to pay between 5-15 euros for your chidren to go to the evening kids clubs,but you dont have to send your kids if you dont want to.

Also you can do trips through the reps if you want but i would suggest hiring a car and doing it youself as they can work out quite expensive.We found the cheapest  car hire place jst down the road,come out of the complex,turn right,and its just after the supermarket on your right,we paid 199 euros for a 9 seater for 3 days,insurance and everything included.

the cheapest supermarket we found was turn right out of complex,striaght down the road till you come to a junction,turn right again,cross the road and its just after the pharmacy,5 litre bottles were only about 85 cents where as everywhere else was between 1.20-1.60 euros.

The beaches are absolutley stunning and water very clear.There are some very nice places to eat out.we found the florida and el mecca very nice.Food in the complex not to bad but a bit over priced we thought as well as the drinks but that usually is the case.Say hello to toni and oscar 2 of the bar men,they are hilarious.
also visit the caves of drac,marine land,western waterpark(this one is best if you have kids)and do the soller train ride to the port of soller its great.

for night life for you adults i would strongly recommend BCM night club you pay 16 euros before midnight and all your drinks are free plus you can leave and go back as many times as you want,you get free gifts aswell.tis club is open till 6 in the morning.

Anyway hope you all have a fab time like we did.

The accomodation is very good. It is begining to show its age in places but good. at its highest it reaches 4 stories but in the main it's 3 high. The reception is smart, clean and well run. The pool is nice with depths to suit all and it has a seperate kids pool.
The apartments form a U shape round the pool and all have balconies facing it. there is lift access to the floors as well as stairs.
The rooms (we had a 1 bed) were roomy enough for a family of 4. The kids had the bed room we hade the sofa beds (which were quite comfy).
The catering facilities are limited to 2 rings and a kettle. (We had a micro wave but I'm not sure if they are standard). You can rent a toaster and other stuff.
The on site cafe is resonably priced and tasty.
The aircon is built in and appears to be free.

There is a good family feel to the place and the entertainment was not bad at all. (The bingo costs to play though). If the kids want an icecream it is cheaper to got to the shop around the corner (1.2E compared to 2.5E).
I enjoyed the complex but as a first vist to Majorca I was not taken by the restaurants. Everything with chips sort of fare. The Gran Mundo Chinese does a good all you can eat buffet fro under 10E and the restaurant just up from it is good. I did not find eating or drinking as cheap as expected. If you get the cahnce take in the Pirate show piratesadventure.com/home  htm). Not cheap but a stunning evening.
The resorts were nice and clean and the beaches well facilitated and there seemed to be some sort of play area for kids every couple of hundred yards or so.
The Thomas cook staff were excellent and always seemed to be around. 

Over all a good holiday let down slightly by the basic restaurants around.

cas saboners were lovely apartments not very big but you don't go on holiday to spend it in your room. Air condtioning was a blessing as there was a heat wave when we were there. Staff at reception and bar were very friendly and helpful.Plenty of shops and resturants in Palma Nova just a short walk away.

The pool was a great size and well kept, there was a little park with swings and slide if kids got fed up of pool.

Overall had a lovely holiday and met some really nice people, only downside we thought was that the entertainment on a night time could have started a bit earlier, it didn't start till 10:15. Could of done with something starting at 8:30 for the kids after all it was supposed to be for families.

Well worth a short trip by taxi to Magaluf to see the Pirate show,it was excellent and the kids loved it,
Would definitly go back to this resort.

although the apartments were okay the experience we had as a family was NOT.we were broken into but with no signs of a break in explain that one.the hotel staff wre not helpfull they didnt want to know the rep gave us the number for the police that was it.we were not the 1st to be broken into with no signs of a breakin.one woman had over £200 taken yet none of the locks had been tampered with.the rep explained it could be that previous people had stayed and got keys cut and watched for people to go out for the day.be carefull.

apart from that the beaches were great and the nightlife to try going to the Green Parrot in magaluf you will have a great laugh as the dj Martin locally known as the boro gobsh1te is great.very crude but well worth it even the kids will love it.

we are going back in july 2005 for the 14th year so it must be good.

This was the second time we had stayed at this accommodation, the first time no problem, lovely room, pool location etc. 

Last year we stayed there in July, had a brilliant time as usual in Majorca but unfortunately we were broken into (twice)!! The first time someone took my mobile phone. We reported it to the rep who was quite helpful and also to the Police.  There was no forced entry. The second time, two days later my son had left some money on the bed thankfully not an awful lot (about £50) and this was taken with NO force entry. The rep and ourselves knew it was the cleaners but we couldnt pove it. Also we learned three other people had their rooms broken into with no forced entry. We all complained to the management but to no avail even our insurance didnt cover it!!!!  trying to get blood out of a stone.  Its a shame cause the hotel is brilliant in itself.  

Visit Son Amar and Marineland, Western Water Park and for brill nite out The Green Parrot at the bottom of Magaluf. The dj is so funny you will laugh all night plays brilliant music (lots of oldies) and the staff are v friendly, been going there for 12 years now and GP 3 years, Martin used to be the DJ at Red Lion - absolutely brilliant.  Cant wait for July this year when we go again (staying at Royal Beach Magaluff)!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

First time we had been with JMC and were slightly disappointed with them.

Playa C'as Saboners is a lovely holiday destination, large pool which the staff battled well to keep clean, good onsite food and some decent shows in the evening.

Do not take a room on the roadside as at 5 am the Grand Prix de Palma Nova starts every day, a few bevvies will see you through it though. Rooms could do with a spruce up ours had damp patches in the roof.

JMC Kids club Rep's are easily the worst we have come across - cancelled numerous events, seemed to spend the day recovering from the night before.

If you go to Magaluff then you must see the Pirates show - excellent entertainment, kids loved it.

Palma Nova was full of quality Restuarants such as El Mecca easily reached from Saboners down some steps.

More shops and Pubs than I could believe and very cheap. Excellent.

One thing that baffled me was that JMC advertise C'as Saboners as a Kidsworld resort yet there were large groups of single males holidaying there, partying and drinking all night. Kids tired from lack of sleep is a real pain - beware!
We will definitely return to Palma Nova but not with JMC.

Booked this holiday 3 weeks before and didnt really know what to expect, but it was brilliant  ,  all apartments facing
pool  , staff behind bar friendly food excellent value for money . only 5 min walk to magalluf if you wanted it lively but there was no need. plenty to do in resort.   

marineland a good day out if you have children.  taxis cheap but local bus service excellent. Football was on when we were there and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Overall a great holiday.  More suitable if you have small children but for june time is was great  for us.

Great place to stay if you have a young family, Apartments were spotless and spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful JMC Reps REALLY helpful came round the pool area every day to see if everything was fine.

Hotel was situated in a good position,some steps to walk down to PALMANOVA beach, which is only a couple of minutes away or turn right and walk down a slight hill which takes you to MAGALUF which is also just minutes away. SUPERMARKET next door which was very handy but if you walked passed it and walked down the hill turned right there was an even cheaper SUPERMARKET, well worth the walk if you have 2-3 of a family and are staying for 2wks, prices totally different.

WOULD definetly go back to cas sabones but the only downside trying to get a sunlounger,some people were actually keeping them in there terraced area or putting there towels on them at MIDNIGHT yes its hard to believe and there was,nt a GERMAN IN SIGHT. I,ll give you a clue it was,nt the scots ,irish or the welsh. If you don,t want this hassle just walk down the steps and enjoy the lovely beaches.p.s IF THE MANAGEMENT SORTED OUT THE SUNBED SITUATION THIS PLACE WOULD BE SIMPLY BE A FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY AND ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY.

Booked this holiday as a last minute deal so was unsure what to expect, IT WAS BRILLIANT!!!

The apartments were by far the best in Palma Nova for self catering, and with the best look.

We arrived at 6am after a delaed flight to find all receptionists friendly and willing to help.  With out room keys we were given plenty of information about the hotel and the resort which we found really useful.  Chema on reception was excellent as we had a few queries and he dealt with these quickly and efficiently.

Our room was clean and spacious, and we liked the fact that all of the rooms had a pool view, what a pool!  Clean, big and tidy, only drawback is that there is a lack of beds and umbrellas that are all reserved, even though it was not high season.

Palma Nova is a quiet resort but there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. We found it very English, not many spanish restaurants, however we did visit El Salmon in the centre which had lovely food but was quite expensive.  We also found Maritimo pizzeria on theMarina Arcades.  This was by far the best restaurant, really good quality food at a reasonable price, all meats cooked on a bbq in front of you, and free champagne with your meal.  To top it off it had a sea view which is rare in this resort.

We would definately recommend these apartments to anyone, any age, we had a great time and would like to go back there again.

We went away on a last minute deal, and were panicking a little bit before we got there. We needn't have bothered. The apartments were lovely, clean and spacious, and all have large balconies that overlook the pool.
The staff are absolutely great, really friendly and all speak excellent English.
There is entertainment on site in the evenings if you want it, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance if you fancy something a bit livelier.

The resort is nice, but watch out for the people in the vests handing out scratch cards, if you win they send you to collect your prize at an office, where they spend half a day trying to sell you holiday club membership! Definately one to avoid.

The beach is within 5 minutes walk of the apartments and is spotlessly clean.
We had a great holiday, and will definately go back.

This was the best holiday we have been on out of the three years we've been going to majorca.  The complex and everything about it was fantastic....

The rooms were spotless and were big enough for five as we had one of the bigger rooms... and they all have pool views...

the kids were totally satisfied day and night with the great entertainment which was all organized by EMILIO who our little dylan adored... cos he gave him sweets every night...

it was quiet yet it was not boring during the day.... i'd say it was RELAXING...

All the staff were very polite and friendly... and the kids reps  ZIG ZAG ZOE, SUNNY SARAH, AND LITTLE ONE were brill with the kids and they even had organised trips out for them which gave us time to chill out on our own.....


ALL IN ALL I WILL BE BOOKING TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE PERFECT HOLIDAY AT THE C'AS SABONERS

AND WE MET SOME VERY NICE PEOPLE NOT RIF RAF LIKE YOU GET IN SOME PLACES

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We had a fantastic time at the Playas C'as Saboners.We were only there for 3 nights but it was just enough time to explore Palma Nova and Magaluf.

The apartments were lovely, all with views overlooking the pool (which was lovely and clean). The rooms werent huge but were the ideal size for a couple. Just watch your phone bill if you use the one in the room. It did say it was the same charges as the local phone boxes but I've never spent EUR 46.00 in a phone box before.

The facilities are clean and well kept and the staff were lovely. The food was'nt fantastic but for a quick snack you cant really go wrong.

We would recommend that if youve got to pay for transfers from the airport you dont. Its only 20 minutes away and the taxis are out in abundance, and it only costs about EUR 25.00.

The location is excellent. The road it is on is very quiet and pretty much seperates palma nova from magaluf. Both places are realy well kept and the locals were really nice.

If you walk to the bottom of the street turning right out of the apartments you are at the start of magaluf and if u turn left u are in palma nova. There are also 3 cash machines here all of which gave excellent rates compared to getting it from the uk or locally.

I you come out of the apartments turn right and head down a set up steps opposite this takes u to the beach and our favourite restaraunt in the hole of Majorca. Turn left at the bottom of the steps and head past the chinese you will find Brandys. Its an English run restaraunt owned by a couple called Bill and Sandra. The food is absolutley beautiful and all home cooked using mostly english ingrediants. The breakfasts are the best and they are really lovely so please go and say hello.

All in all we had an excellent holiday even though it rained for the entire weekend. We are going back to the C'as saboners in July.

Arrived at apartments quite late on in the evening,from the outside it looked clean and well presented and when we went in we were not disappointed either it was just the same with a nice reception and staff to match,we were given plenty of leaflets with our keys this included about the apartments themselves and the resort- we found these were very helpful.

We found our apartment very easily (unlike other holidays we have taken in the past when you needed a degree just to find your room),on entering the room it was found to be of a good standard-clean and tidy and of a decent size-the only draw back in my opinion is that of the sofa beds not that big or comfortable for adults(we gave the children the beds as we were afraid if they fell they would hurt themselves on the tiled flooring)the air conditioning was a god send as it was unusually hot for that time of year.

The following morning we could see the pool area properly for the the first time it too was very clean and well maintained,we took the kids on the play area which is only two swings and slide but they were happy enough.

We went to the reps talk it was o.k- mainly wanting to just sell their over priced trips ,but worth knowing where the nearest chemist etc is,although we have visited palma nova in the past it was a different area than on previous visits so we decided to have a breakfast in the hotels bar before settting off-it and the rest of the food we had during our week was a little bit more expensive than going into palma nova itself but of good standard.

These apartments are well situated,either cross the road and down the steps (there is quite a few though)or turn right out of apts down the hill(very nice pizza's on the right at the bottom of the hill)and turn left at the bottom and your near the beach and plenty of shops and bars etc.

All in all this was one of the best holidays we have been on and we will be returning to this resort and these apts in the near future.

We went to Palma Nova in the beginning of September 2003. Although the weather was awful (we had a tornado and 3 thunderstorms) we had a fantastic time.

I've been to Majorca a few times so i know that we were just unlucky with the weather.

We spent most of our time in Magaluf, day and night, having our daily trip to Daquiri Palace for a strawberry daquiri. The nightlife is fantastic and the PR's, although slightly annoying, got used to us and didn't hassle us as much towards the end of the holiday and some of them are lovely. Especially the PR for Geordie Pride (who do the best strawberry vodka shakes!)

We also loved Lennons and Chaplins and we went in Tokio Joes alot.

Palm Beach is an ideal place for snacks at lunch and they're salads are delicious.

Our favourite beach was Son Matias beach, really clean and not too busy.
We also recommend Pirates show, it was such a laugh and a great way to meet more new people. Plus, the guy who plays Sir Francis Drake is so s*xy!!

The apartments were great. Alot more than we expected. Poolside was clean and tidy and the snack bar is really handy. Nice that all the rooms have a poolview. And a really small distance to walk to both Magaluf and Palma Nova. Shops are great too.

Definately be back this year if it's available. We loved it and had the time of our lives!

Palma Nova is a brief walk down steps opposite hotel which is well situated.Hotel very clean and tidy and onsite food very good but a little over priced compared to local bars and restaraunts.Daytime entertainment was very good and was highlighted by Emillos sense of humour,bloodyo hello. evening entertainment excellent with hypnotist etc. i would definately go back.

Went back to playa c'as sabones this year after having an enjoyable stay in 1996. Had a great stay again, had a few added extras this time including a microwave and air conditioning. the hotel is in a excellent location it is far away to get some peace and quiet but close enough to walk into the palma nova and magaluf. the best way to the beach is straight across the road down the steps.

The things i liked best about the apartments are that you make up yor own 7 digit code for the safe, the pool starts off really shallow for kiddies and it has lifts (even though there are only 3 floors) if you are looking for the night life we recommend poco locos, the car wash and lennons. they are all within walking distance and have great english staff. cant wait to go back !!!

Apartments were spotless,complex was brilliant,Pool is lovely,JMC rep was useless only interested in selling trips.
Palma Nova isnt as noisy as people say,only noise we heard was the taxi drivers screeching their tyres on road outside apartment.

Only downside was we thought cost of holiday was a bit steep for self catering but at least the kids could annoy other people in safety inside complex.

Western waterpark was ok as long as you dont mind queueing in 40 degree heat,diving show was good tho.Buy tickets from sellers in Palma Nova as you get free transport and free kids place with every 2 adult tickets bought.
Weather was HOT daytime average of 42 degrees,even at 1.30am it was still 31 degrees so the air conditioning took a beating.

Overall an excellent holiday and we would definately go back to Palma Nova/Magaluf and would return to these apartments if the price was more realistic.

The appartments were lovely-really clean with decent sized balconies for a change!
The food in the bar was great too.
But these appartments were more suited to families and the slightly older age group not young people out for a laugh.
We were the youngest people in the complex and the only irish which i didnt really like.

The night life in Palma Nova wasnt great but Magaluf is only down the road so it wasnt too bad.
BCM is some spot to go tuesday and friday are Rn'B nights which are brilliant and make sure you go down before 12 to get your free stuff!

Its really worth your while taking a trip to Santa Ponsa the night life is ten times better and theres loads of irish and its only five mins down the road in a taxi (the taxis are cheap)
the best spots are GREEN HILLS (the best place ever) FAMA or DICEY REILLYS.
Kitty O' Sheas is a kip!

These apartments are great,we found there was plenty of room for two but four people would be cramped.

Good kitchen with the normal plus microwave.Toasters you'll have to hire.

Bathroom has a proper bath with fixed shower head which worked well,beats a room with a hole in the floor and water everywhere.

Room air con fantastic.

Our room was by the road which did create a little noise escpecially at night but soon got used to it.The sangria helps.

The snack bar/lounge was superb,good food,
sky television and full air con.

The pool was great and clean,but found most sunbeds taken up with towels by 8am,as always,but it was high season.

Palma Nova is good for bars and a fantastic restaurant we found on top of the marina arcade called Maritimo with grea views and food to match.
If you want buzz then magaluf is only 5/10min walk.

just returned from the ponent mar in palma nova what a lovely hotel couldnt fault the hotel or the resort.

we had a 1 bedroom apartment with seaview overlooking the pool it was beautiful. pool was great plenty of beds lifeguard on duty all day. the people in reception were very helpful  didnt use the restaurant but did use the pool bar meals and drinks very reasonably priced and very nice.loved palma nova not too loud nothing like magaluf had some lovely meals one place that was very cheap was palmanova gardens we had 4 meals and 4 drinks for 25 euros .the stadium was good at nite had tribute bands on seen abba and robbie and takethat both great nites.also go to the pirates in magaluf brilliant nite well worth the 200 euros we paid for 4 of us.western waterpark was a good day and fantasia golf.booked the hotel with preston travel but you can book direct only hotel i have been too that i cant wait to go back lots of nationalitys so not loads of us british lager louts it was just right. 

only problem was 1 week was not enough.

we went to this hotel in september 05 and had a fantastic time. a friend of mine recommended it to me as she has\been about 5 times in the past.its positioned right on the headland with great views of palma nova bay and palma harbour.the food was\really good and plentiful andwas buffet style. the bar was quietish and reasonably priced. the measures were huge!!!

rooms were very clean and the maids did a good job. there is a nice pool and a pool bar doing drinks and lunches/snacks all day. very clean. waiters were very professional. we didnt pay alot for this holiday which we got from a travel agent in preston (we went on their site to get prices ) and it was like a really class hotel for say 3star prices. they organised the flights and a car hire for us too.
the manager of the agency knows the hotel director and gets the best rooms so im told.have a nice time.

Upon reading previous reports was worried about our booking, so contacted Cosmos who advised no reports of break ins this year so should be ok!!! Rent the safe and be on your guard at all times, make sure you securely lock all doors, even when ur in!! We put furniture against everything so that should anyone try to enter the scraping would wake us!! 

Staff not too quick at sorting problems out - our heating thermostat broke and hot air system bellowed out for 2 days, finally I (woman of 47!!) managed to somehow jam if to switch off and never saw anyone from the hotel during our 10 days to fix it!! Hotel bar only opens 'now n again' so with nothing else for families to do during bad weather kids are left to their own devices. The older ones lounge about in reception til all hours of the nite whilst the younger ones run round the hotel playing football in corridors and riding in lifts - nice families!!! 

All in all I would not recommend this Hotel for a quiet holiday, possibly Magaluf would have been quieter, and that's saying something!! Location is lovely, just off the main Palma Nova seafront, and the local bars are great value for money - now that's where the parents got to!! Try Hennessey's and say a big hello to Vicky n Stu they made our holiday for us. Wud go back to Palma Nova - but not the Portanova! Only
real down side was we found that this year everywhere seems dirty, with loads of dog mess along pavements, so please watch out with yr kids n pushchairs.

Having stayed in these appartments on several occasions, i find it is value for money for just getting your head down, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from best food and value for money was Karens Bar just around the corner opposite the supermarket offering a wide choice on the menu and a good selection of beers, and open late. staff very friendly.

Good flight - good weather for November -Very poor apartment -

Room 218 - 2nd floor - check the wiring for the wall and ceiling lighting   - check the patio locks out - check all the floor tiling on the patio - all lifted up nearly causing you to nosedive over the balcony when you trip over them.

Very poor - mingy mattress's, full of mossi's....need i say anymore -

DUMP!

1 Star perhaps - thats possibly for the entrance where you walk out of the hotel - however new indoor pool just been done - and we was first to test this out -

But very in need of full modernising -

Portonova apts are located at the end of Palma Nova away from the bustle but still only few minutes walk to the bars and restaurants.  Had several very good meals and would recommend Port Royal and The Mocubar (which always looked quiet but did fabulous food). If you want a more "lively" atmosphere you will need to walk further up (10-15 mins) where you will find a few disco bars.  I don't recommend going any further i.e into Magaluf - if you don't like tacky!

Apts are a little on the old looking side but were fine for our one week stay - cleaned regularly and pretty spacious with all the essential kitchen equipment.

Pool area was nice, good number of sunbeds. Pool area doesn't open until 9am so no-one getting up at crack of dawn to reserve sunbeds.  Kids entertainer on site 6 days a week.  He does this on his own and the kids seemed to love him.  Usual bingo around the pool everyday!
Shops are what you would expect in a resort such as this - perfume shops, tobacconist and gift shops.  For better shopping you need to go into Palma which you can get to easily on any of the 3 buses which come down the main road - cost was about 2.50 euros.
Apts are within 2/3 minutes walk of a nice beach and overlook the Palma Nova Nautica Club where water-skiing, jet skiing etc goes on.

All in all, a nice resort for a short break.

excellent value for the price, clean, free entertainment and kids club. large pool area with snack bar, happy hour at 5pm and 8pm (try the sangria has more spirits than the cocktails !!!).
quiet area with some bars and restaurants nearby (hi to all at Karens bar)better off walking down towards the magaluf end.
Stefen the entertainer works hard and on on his own six days and nights of the week a very nice bloke and great with the kids. Apartment very good with all you need fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster etc. Cleaned most days free shower gel and water always hot (rare).
Magaluf spoilt by all the touts, however if you have kids make the journey to Popeye's bar (opposite Guadalope above Mano's) run by jimmy and josie (massive wednesdayite from sheffield - take him a bottle of henderson's !! and reminise). They have free bouncy castle for the kids and PS2 plus dvd films. Great host.

This is 2nd time this year we've stayed at the Roc Portonova. Apartments are 1 bedroomed and really quite spacious.  

Kitchens are well equipped with kettle, fridge & microwave.  Everything as it should be no complaints (except no towel change in 4 days this happened in April too)! Indoor & outdoor pools, bar, internet access & nice public areas, staff very friendly especially Eva. Right accross from beach, walking distance from everything including bus-stop if you want to travel a bit.  Palmanova itself is a great resort, plenty of cheap n cheerful restuarants and a few not so cheap but really nice ones.  If you are over 30 do not go to Magaluf! It's the pits.  We were booked into the Fiesta Jungla, it was soooooo bad we had to leave even before we spent the first night there. Luckily we were able to get into the Portonova, what a relief. (Although no help from Thomsons - they didn't want to know). Magaluf was dirty, smelly, white plastic chair city with loads of gangs of girls/guys being quite loud brash, showing their    "privado parts" (whats that all about) being inconsiderate for anyone else within their surroundings.  I used to quite like Magaluf but obviosly I must be getting too old for it! This is turning into a Magaluf review so back to Palmanova, which is more my cup of tea.  

I could recommend Natalies & Karens bars for a cooked breakfast, the Son Matias BBQ & Zorros for a nice sophisticated evening meal, & loads of in-between places Spanish, Dutch, Chinese, etc.   All in all a varied, clean safe resort which would appeal to anyone looking for a value for money holiday in the Balaerics.

 We had an amazing time in this hotel, basically due to the fact that that although we were a young group of girls - we didn't want to be kept up all night by the partying.   The hotel was a mix of ages with more families then younger people and party goers.

Your right on the palma nova beach with this hotel and a short taxi into central magaluf, so overall a brilliant location.

the rooms are quite basic, which is a shame after the glorious entrance. however we did have a horrible flight time home and the hotel let us use a spare room to freshen up and relax in.

the only downside to this hotel is the 'small' pool. although normaly this pool would be average the kids dive bombing made it seem very small which was a little bit of a pain.

All in all i would reccomend this hotel, and have since made a booking for my aunt and uncle who were also impressed by the pictures and stories.

Two young at heart wrinklies, three teenage boys and one boisterous 12 year old have just reluctantly returned from a wonderful holiday. 

By day we lounged by and cooled off in the adequately sized safe and clean pool,got involved in the low key poolside entertainment or walked the all of 50 metres to the beach.Each evening we dined in an excellent value for money restaurant just opposite Macdonald's.We would then stroll along the lively seafront into Magaluf and go our seperate ways for a night out. 

The teenage boys were in 7th heaven but after midnight we wrinklies and our 12 year old were not quite as well catered for entertainment-wise as we had been last year in Bendidorm.However we had a good time and were always safe in the knowledge that no matter how much we had 'over-consumed',a taxi was always close at hand to take us back to the apartments.The taxis were cheap and never once did they attempt to rip us off.The area in and around the apartments after midnight was peaceful and quiet and conducive to a restful sleeping off period.I am apprehensive about praising this location too much as I would hate to find that next year that there's no room for my family and friends!We were there in the height of the season and no-one in our party heard any tales of theft,burglary or muggings etc. We were reassured by an appropriate police presence and often felt safer there than we would in our own home city.

We really enjoyed our stay at these appartments, they were very clean with towel changes every day, and they made our beds too!!! All rooms were big and fully equipped with things such as iron, ironing board, toaster, kettle, washing line, even shower gel!! we had an excellant view from our balcony with pool and sea view, and you could also see magaluf! Rooms were quite breezy with air con (not that we needed to put it on because we had 2 sliding doors that you could have open) The pool was clean but a bit on the smallish side, and if you wanted a sunbed you had to get up at 6 o clock in the morning and put a towel out (which people did). We spent most of our time on Palma Nova beach as it was literally on the doorstep, and was great!!

There were lots of great food places nearby, one of the best is the Moca Bar and the chinese which is right next door to the appartments!! Didnt really go to the bars in Palma Nova much as we spent our nights in Magaluf, which was only about 5 Euro's away in a Taxi!!

All in all a great holiday, great appartments, and we enjoyed it that much we are going back in September!!!!

We arrived at the hotel and was greated by a very helpful member of staff who hurried the cleaners up who were in our room so we could go straight up.  We were given a 3rd floor room (which we asked for) and was very impressed with the accomodation.  some people have commented on a nosiey dog on the same floor we heard nothing for 11 days (we did see the dog) the appartments are at the far end of palmanova so it is nice and quite at nighttime. 

The enterainment people do a very good job, there is something to do through out the day with a kids club in the morning. there is alot of sunbeds and the pool is great.  A good selection of bars and resturants a short walk away. The beach is just over the road(very handy) The equipment in the kitchen kettle, toaster gas cooker,fridge and on the back of the kitchen is a balacony with washing equipment and washing lines very handy.

We would definetaly visit again.
With this being residential appartments they are very strict with noise so another plus point if you want a good nights sleep.
A must to stop at.

Well where do i start!! We had booked my mates hen weekend out in Majorca and came across Portanova and booked up as it was cheap and close to Magaluf. 

I cant fault the accomadation as it was £100 for 6 of us for 3 nights and we had a pool although not a great one. After reading some of the other posts on here i had to write to add support in the amount of thefts at the hotel. As i said there was 6 of us all female and out for a friends hen weekend which turned into the holiday from hell. We went out for the night (second night stay) all drunk, only to arrive back at 2am to find all our personal belonging had been stolen. No sign of a brake in, our mobiles, money and jewellery had gone. Our suitcases had been slashed open with what looked like a knife (they were locked with our belongings inside). We called the police but it was clear from the beginning it was an inside job. The guy at reception didn't give a sh!t and was actually joking with the police about something, which made us annoyed and suspisious. 

We were speaking to another couple who had their room robbed earlier in the week and another group of lads that had had designer trainer stolen. Nothing was ever done about it and by the sound of it its still happening now. This ruinned our weekend away and we left a day early and got another flight home as we were all upset and didn't wanna stay there any longer. Needless to say all but one of the girls said they will never return to Majorca because of this which is a shame as there are some great hotels out there.

great apartment it was 1 of the privatley owned ones in the portanova block incredible views over palma nova bay lovely and clean pool looked great but we prefer the beach .this block of apartment is only half owned by a hotel comp and most of top floor is privatley owned we used hotel room on last day of holliday to shower and hotel rooms was very dated and dark but the private one we booked was great .

palma nova /magaluf were to start been 12 times in last few years nothing changes only it gets better if you want it qiuet stay in palma nova luvely bars /restauraunts on sea front for a great coffee or beer try tokay bar opposite cabaret bar if you walk round listen to the prs yes there a pain in the bum but we got some great deals for drinks off them in 1 bar we got 2 pints ,i pint of vodka red bull and a pint of cocktail for 6 euros wot more do you need .
food the choice is endless try in magaluf lady taverner great shoulder of lamb mallorcan style big menu great value [just watch when you get your bill twice they tried to charge us for a xtra round of drinks ]tom browns is good ,cottage as well happy house great,in palma nova try the happy house chineses on the beach front set menu 10 euros a head includes starter main sweet and drink .if you like upmarket food try portafino steak on a board you will love it .

DOWNSIDE
while we were there twice people who were stopping in hotels rooms reported there belongings missing money cds ect ect but no sign of break in [be warned]also watch while walking on shop side of palma nova promenade on a nite some little toe rag targeted my nans handbag but we knew what he was up to and he was inches from getting a right hook they walk really close to you then when you pass a side street the grab your bag and are gone .

last on the beach people come round selling fruit and drinks DONT buy them they charge you silly amounts of money 10 euros for a can of coke i fella bought 2 slices of melon gave the girl 50 euro note she threw him 10 euro change and was off he went after her but was put off when she ran to a couple of big uigly types .
be warned people were getting there bum bags stolen off there waist without even knowing KEEP YOUR MONEY SAFE

The appartments are a bit tired looking but were adequate for what we needed.

Staff are helpful, breakfast is not that good, you can get far better for less cash just about 100 yards from there.

Portonova Apartments - Really nice, great location at the end of the resort across from a small Marina.  We had a 1 bedroomed apartment, nice & spacious, with TV, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster.  Only 1 slight downside although we were there for a short break, (4 days) there was no maid service/change of linen or towels.  The staff were really nice, the pool area was lovely.  The restuarant was closed (too early in season?).  

Palma Nova itself is really nice, with lots of lovely restuarants.  We tried the Bahia Palma Nova and the Son Matias restuarants which were lovely.  Overall the prices were very reasonable.  The beaches were very clean and the resort felt nice and safe which is more than can be said for Magaluf!  We ventured up there but to be honest it really is for teenagers looking for a mad time.  You can't walk about without PR's trying to get you to go to this pub that club its a real pain in the a***.  Its a bit manky and in the cold light of day you can see the vomit/blood/takeaways on the pavements.  Don't get us wrong, us girls like a bit of a mad time too, but Magaluf is too in your face. 

To sum up the PortoNova apartments are great.  I have been going to Palma Nova for 22 years on/off, and would reccommend it to anyone.

This was a good base for a family holiday. The building is starting to look a little 'tired' but it is clean, well kept and managed and staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious, overlooked the pool and with direct access. It was clean and bright. The furnishing were adequate as was the kitchen.
There was heating (we went in March) and an indoor heated pool. There is an outdorr pool and patio area with sun beds.

The apartments are sited at the quiet end of the resort which is an advantage.
There are a lot of steps into the building and you have to pass along three levels to get to the lifts/stairs etc. This would make it difficult for an individual to cope with very steep ramps that are available. Having said that it can be managed with assistance. During out visit there were two people who used wheelchairs and had no difficulty with assistance from their friends/family.
We would go there again.

Arrived at 9.30 in the evening.  We were allocated a 2 bedroom apartment with a seaview.  Visited January 2005.  The heating in the apartment was excellent.  You could have it on 24 hours if you wanted.  Beds very comfortable with a separate kitchen. No washing machine or microwave as advertised by Alpharooms when we booked last year.

Only problems were:-

1.  The night porter allocated our apartment to some men from England and they arrived at 1.45am when we were in bed!  Imagine the shock.  The day staff couldn't have been more apologetic, not to mention the men who got as big a shoock as us when they arrived in one of our bedrooms!

2.  There is no heating in the public areas.

There is no food or drink available here in the Winter.

When booked 2 1 bedroomed apartments and requested a sea view and rooms next to each other. When we arrived we told that there were plumbing problems and that we could either have a 2 bedroomed apartment with a sea view or 2 1 bedroomed apartments on the ground floor 2 doors apart. With us being young we wanted privacy so went for the 2 single rooms with the view of a busy street which bin wagons went up and down at about 7-8am EVERY morning! 

When we got in the room we really liked the way it was set out. The decor was really nice. We went to the pool and were being harrassed by 4 teenagers. That was really annoying as we choose that hotel to get away from all that. The outside doors have white doors to pull over the patio doors to block out the light. We pulled the bedroom ones closed and left the living room doors open. My partner was in the bedroom reading a magazine while I was in the bath. He said he heard the white doors rattling and thought it was our mate from don the hall climbing on the balcony and rocking the doors. Then a dark skined man in a blue top popped his head around the door and ran ut of the appartment. We thought it was our friend but when we met up later they said it hadn't been them. They said they had also seen a shifty looking man walking up and down the street outside of our rooms. That was the first fault with the appartment. 

Then later in the week we found a cockroach in the appartment it was about as 2 -3 inches long, also earlier in the week our friends had found a nest of ants behind there beside cabinet. There fridge was also like a freezer but we weren't complaining. Although there hobs in the kitchen didn't work. There are alot of English bars if you would like to go for a drink or breakfast. We never tried the hotel breakfast. The area is generally peaceful and quite with the exception of the teenagers. Throughout the whole week of being there I don't think there was many young couples that were in the apartments. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

All in all we had a bad experience here and will definately not be going back.

What a holiday, sun, sea and Quiet. It was 18 degrees t-shirt and shorts.

We arrived late on a Sunday, I will advise you to take some bottled water or drinks from the airport to the apartments as all shops are closed by nine, we got to Macdonalds just before 11.15 and they were closing at 11.30 we bought some water there. 

The apartments were excellent we got the best balcony. These apartments don't provided a bar or refreshments but the supermarket is 100m. We had the indoor pool all to ourselves for about 5 hours a day, that's all the kids wanted to do. When we did get them out, they just wanted to play on the parks that are provided all along the beaches, one park every 200m. We didn't spend much money at all, most of the shops were closed. Cheeks Bar excellent for drinks, also henneseey's made the kids welcome. Tony's bar excellent for meals, this is behind the cala bona hotel.
walked to Magaluf one a night, what a ghost town in the winter. One bar the benny hills was brilliant for the kids.

Well 11 of us 3 adults and 8 offspring arrived with some trepidation having not done the 'not the package thing' before. and were plesantly surprised. The taxi journey from the airport beats the coach journey any day and arriving at our apartments altogether, all be it in three taxis was something of a miracle. Our apartments were found to be clean and in good order.  Although I should point out that one member of the group was in a one bedroom apartment - next to a road and across from other apartments whose water sprinklers were on constantly.  The two bed apartments were however perfectly situated overlooking the pool and with a sea view that could not be beaten.

The staff were all courteous at all times and the rooms cleaned regularly.  However it must be pointed out that one member of the party had to call upon the odd job man on a couple of occasions and when he arrived he too completed his task admirably.  The air conditioning was another matter, although none of us wanted to complain this could have been improved upon.  Two rooms were boiling hot and the other, on the dare i say, cold side - not the room next to the road that is! 

The pool was a decent size and plenty of sunbeds to be had, although more umberellas would have been appreciated but the weather at the time we were there was unbelievably HOT.  Stefan the entertainer tried hard and in most cases succeeded, things were there if you wanted to do them and there were always enough people who did.

However if you did not want to do something which involved moving he also came round with little games wich took a couple of minutes of your time and made you feel involved. He organised the evening entertainment which was ideal for us having two younger members who just wanted to be in familiar surroundings and able to go off on their own to do their own thing, as much as a seven year old can.  All in all he worked hard and his friendly manner to all was refreshing. There were a mixture of guests, English, French, Swedish, Dutch. Who all seemed to get on together with a nod and a smile.  However one person managed to spoil the start of our holiday by shouting at some youngsters in the pool for 'monopolising' it.  As they were the only ones in at the time apart from a lady happily swimming up and down it was hard to see what he ment.  He spoke witha phoney american accent with a slight german tone to it!!!!! 
the resosrt of Palma Nova was just of the right mix for us - and a trip to Magaluf one night proved that to us 'old ones'

The teenagers visited a Kareoke bar in Palma Nova on the last night and wished they had gone there before as most nights were spent sitting by the pool, talking to others and playing pool and table tennis, before retiring to bed sometime after 2.  It was an easy relaxing holiday, no pressure, no high sales of tours and no problems.  Would we go back to Porta Nova Apartments, personally speaking I never go back to the same place twice, how can you compare a brilliant holiday!

Just stayed the one night, couldn't face any more. Was offered room for 3 with a seaview, the 'seaview' might have applied if we were giraffes. Balcony shutters & balcony patio windows were insecure and following our complaint a clasp & latch were fitted by the complex odd job man, which a small boy would have been able to circumvent. 

The 'Air-conditioning thoughout' seemed to apply to the fact that the front & rear doors of the complex were constantly open as were pretty well all of the windows in the corridor. The badly-named 'room air-conditioning outlets' simply circulated the warm air within the complex and when the talented hotel technician / engineer / odd job man paid a visit to diagnose the fault he said "well the hotel air-conditioning pump is very old & small and it is a very hot day".

There was nothing in our room (Room 104) with any information on the Hotel or for that matter any details on what to do in the event of a fire, such a shame as this complex has 5 floors. Presumably knotting bed sheets together would in normal circumstances prove an asset in the event of a fire, shame we only had sheets for two when the room was booked and paid for three occupants. Oh yes, and then there was the defective fridge with a freezing compartment which didn't freeze, a television which needed a hand controller to perform even the most basic functions, we later found that we needed to visit reception and pay a deposit for a hand controller. 

The write-up also boasts 'fully equipped kitchen' well not in my mind, a kitchen that fails to contain even the most basic of utensils 'a potato knife/peeler or similar utensil', does by no stretch of the imagination constitute  a 'fully equipped kitchen'.

In our experience the Portonova Appartments were showing their age, tired, lacking basic maintenance and not the sort of place most people would rave about at the end of their holiday.

But it wasn't all bad news as after the first night we had a really good 2 weeks experience in a couple of super, clean, well appointed and well maintained appartments in Puerto Pollensa for the 5th year running.

One final point, first impressions of Palma Nova were that the beach was fine but the rest of Palma Nova is a bit busy, noisey and not liable to attract us back again, Majorca has so much more to offer.

these apts are excellent for familly holidays the staff are friendly there is something going on all day pool excellent and views across the palma bays are stunning.food wise there is a chineese next door and numerous very good resturants nearby but you must use the apts resturant for breakfast as you pay 5 euros for a buffet breakfast and eat as much as you want.well we had a brilliant week(wished it was 2)and would certinatly travel back here.

This was our third visit to Portonova Apartments and we were looking forward to a relaxing holiday in familiar surroundings.

How wrong could we have been! From being a peaceful haven where many families holiday it seems to have turned into an 'end of season' favourite for football teams - we had no less than 30 young lads hell bent on having a good time.

Nothing wrong in that, I'm only 33 myself and enjoy a good laugh as much as the next person.

But being woken by what sounded like a pack of animals at 5am every morning after their sessions in Magaluf was not nice! They were keen to show off their football and linguistic skills at the poolside (never mind the children! they have to hear bad language one day!)

The apartments' exterior need some maintenance as it's strating to look a little 'tatty'. Won't be going back there again which is a shame as it used to be such a lovely well run place.

Palmanova however is a lovely resort with nice (some very nice) restaurants, I would highly reccomend Port Royale Restaraunnt for one!

Go to Palmanova it's a lovely place with everything you need for a lovely holiday but do yourself a favour and avoid Portonova Apartments unless of course your a gang of boys with a couple of braincells who struggle to string a few words to together....'Engerland, Engerland.......etc'

"WHAT CAN I SAY" WOW!!!

 It was the perfect holiday for us.As soon as we landed in Palma i knew well we all knew we were going to have the time of our lives.The airport is huge so just make sure you keep going in the right direction or you can soon get lost. Once that hurdle was out the way it was plain sailing.

 We didn't have a clue what our hotel was going to look like, but when the coach stopped outside the hotel, our mouths were wide open. It was absolutley stunning,and i couldn't believe how close it was to the beach & the Marina.As soon as we got into the hotel everyone was really friendly including the rep she was fantastic. The rooms were spotless we had maids 4 times a week.When isay all the staff were brilliant i mean ALL of them even the maids. The bar staff in the pool bar were great fun too. We found a great bar called THE STADIUM we maid that our local for 2weeks the are super poeple who own it. They treat you as one of their own

 The local cafe's & resturants were really good too they all bent over backwards to help you. It took us less than 5 minutes to walk to the beach, which was of course out of this world.I plan on going back there but libra holidays are not doing Portonova apartments this year as they have lost the contract. 

Oh!! if you do go there you must go to the Marineland in Palma Nova it is fantastic.And also go to the Aquapark in Magaluf. When you get to the Aquapark you must go on the BOOMERANG.My daughter was only 5 last year when she went on it with her dad and she loved it.Well i think i've covered everything.

We have just returned from a 4 day holiday booked through Globespan and had a great time.  The Hotel was really nice and the views breathtaking.  I could not fault the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.  The only point would be at dinner time it was sometimes difficult to find a table but the staff worked their socks off to clear tables and re-set them and the dining room could get very warm.  The food was very good and had no complaints on that score.  Santa Ponsa is a lovely place and as we were half board we did not eat out, but there was plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity.

I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of going and as we went outwith school holidays there was not a lot of children about.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Me and my girlfriend ended up in Mallorca because our original holiday to Dubrovnik was cancelled on us less then 24 hours before departure!

I have been before and stayed in Palma Nova at the Voranova Apartments which is a place worth avoiding at all costs by the way...

The Punta Negra Hotel is situated about a kilometre outside of the main resort on the way in from Palma city. It is in it's own secluded bay next to the 5 star Mardaval Hotel. It's a 4 star hotel but only God knows why!

In my opinion it is the best, most pictoresque hotel I have ever stayed in. It was very strange being in Mallorca but staying in such an unspoilt haven.

The hotel has extensive meandering gardens that lead you down to 2 exclusive private bays. The stone steps that lead you down give you a sense of authenticity that you really are lucky to be there.

Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 4 days and didn't even feel the need to leave the resort. There were 2 swimming pools, 2 restaurants, hundreds of sun loungers and the most pleasant willing staff I have ever come across.

Don't get me wrong it is not cheap but worth every penny for the experience and tranquility. The breakfast alone was worth it! buffet style of hot, cold, continental, diet & anything else you would need for your morning feed.

You can always find your own little space in the grounds to just feel the sea breeze cool your face. The pool is never crowded, the sun loungers are the most comfortable in the world, everyone is just happy!

I would warn of one thing though. This is very much a locals hotel. There a few Italians and Danish here but generally Spanish holiday makers. They don't appreciate loud tourists spoiling their tranquility.

But then again that's exactly what I wanted and so may you...

This was our second visit to these apts this year and I cannot fault the accomodation, clean & spacious - we had booked a 1 bed apt but were allocated a 2 bed overlooking the pool/sea which was great. However our stay was let down due to not been able to keep our room on. We were promised there would be a courtesy room but this wasn't the case and we had to shower in the indoor pool and dress in the reception toilets which is not ideal when other guests are coming in and out.

We love the location, literally across the road from the beach and lots of nice places to eat, try the Real Dion, its excellent. If you have daytime flights then this is a great place to stay but be wary if you're flying home at night.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just arrived back from holiday from the PortoNova Apartments in Palma Nova.  I booked this accommodation through Wintersunshine Holidays last year and got a very good price for a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom apartment.  On arrival the rooms were ready and we were on the ground floor, us having a 2 bedroom and Debs having a 1 bedroom apartment.  Her apartment was facing the road at the side of the hotel and was very noisy with dust carts emptying the rubbish first thing on a morning.  Her room had a balcony with white shutters on the outside only secured by a tiny bolt which made security very very poor.  It must have been bad because there was a long wooden curtain pole holding the patio doors shut at the bottom.  The lock on the apartment door outside had been forced previously but the apartment itself was spacious clean and tidy with toaster, kettle, oven, microwave and fridge and the air conditioning was good.

We had room 18 on the bottom floor overlooking the pool.  Again the door had been forced open previously with a crow bar as some of the wood was still smashed.  The patio doors inside were held shut with a tiny little bolt that was no use for security at all and there was a door from the kitchen into a court yard at the back again with a tiny little bolt. 

When i saw the state of security i went straight to reception to get myself a safety deposit box key that was 5 euros deposit and 3 euros per day, all 8 of us kept our camcorders, passports, money and t cheques in here for safe keeping.

We thought the apartments themselves were nice and clean, very spacy with all the amenities you would expect for self catering, reception was lovely and the pool area was kept clean by the pool attendant every morning.  Beautiful sea front location with a beautiful view from our balcony.

The day before we came home, there was a family who said they had been broken in to, passports, travellers cheques, money, jewellery had been taken, there was no sign of a break in.  This family had not paid for a safe so the hotel were not liable for their lack of security.  The same day and night, another five yes i said FIVE apartments had been broken into, again each family not having a safety deposit box and some no sign of forced entry into the rooms.  Money and passports again were stolen. 

There were 80 rooms in this complex and 42 rooms were empty.  To say that 6 apartment were broken into that means that nearly one in six were targeted.  That is a high percentage of rooms to be broken into.  I spoke with other families and those who seemed to have deposit boxes did not have their rooms broken into so i believe it is an inside job - ie staff telling outsiders who has safes and who hasn't.  Those rooms that were empty were not touched, that must tell them something.

Security is ZILCHO here so if you are going to the PortoNova get yourself a safe, 3 euros a day gives you that peace of mind as the hotel has to insure you against theft from it. 

I loved the holiday, the apartments are spacey and airy, the air conditioning was good and the location is brilliant if you want a quiet holiday.  The entertainment was fairly good but Stefan the only entertainer for the complex worked his little sox off bless him, he was always chirpy and polite and tried to get all the kids to join in activities.  He was a lovely guy and always talked to us when we were sat out on the balcony.  The thefts would not put me off going back there because i always get a safe,  i will probably go back there next year.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We stayed here at peak season in august and took 2 stroppy teenagers with us who were in dire need of cheering up and the roc portonova did just that. It is at the far end of palma nova overlooking the marina and with great veiws over the bay. The rooms are large with good kitchen facilities if a bit dated. We had a room on the ground floor which i would reccommend because we stepped out into the pool area. There is an outdoor pool and an indoor pool for the winter which is heated. There is an entertainment area poolside and every night there was some kind of show on which we enjoyed thoroughly. The staff are friendly and the rooms are cleaned daily. There is an internet station where the kids could for about 50p chat happily to their friends for an hour ( very welcome that was )

The roc portonova is not an expensive hotel but we had a ball there and could reccommend it to anyone for its great location and large rooms. However i hope it gets a refurb soon it would be better but then the price will only go up so cant win!!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We went for a week and wished we could have stayed longer.  I was a bit worried after reading some negative comments before we left but these proved to be no problem.  The 2 bedroomed apartment was the biggest we have stayed in and was really clean.  We had no problem with security or thefts and didn't hear of any while we were there. The apartments are at the quiet end of Palma Nova with a lovely view over the small marina and sea, sitting on the balcony in the evening with a drink was a perfect way to end the day and wish you never had to go home.

The resort itself is excellent, the beaches are fab and there are so many restaurants to eat in you are spoilt for choice.  We took the kids to the aqua water park and they had a great time, it was a good day out and the price was reasonable too, the only down side was the food was ruccish to buy, it would be better to take your own in a cool bag.  

All in all a great time was had, would recommend the roc portonova and would definately go back.

Most places are cheap and cheerful for food. Apart from a bad experience at Karens Bar situated at the marina end of Palms Nova.

My husband ordered a T-Bone steak which was more expensive than most restaurants.  What he received was a not too big beef chop which didn't look at all appetising.  When he questioned it and said he couldn't eat it we were verbally attacked by first the 'cook' and then the 'manager', when my son tried to argue in his father's favour a 'bouncer' type chap arrived on the scene.  They were extremely unreasonable, wanted our money and that was the end of that.  So we paid and went - never to return.  Be warned, you can be extremely vulnerable in situations such as this.  We felt totally victimised, they are not interested in giving a good service, or listening to ANY complaint, they just want your money in this particular eating place/bar. - I would avoid IT!

Apart from that - a lovely resort!

The Rosa Del Mar was in a great location for us it had a good pool our grandson loved it he was in everyday! we had a studio which was fairly spacious and was cleaned 4 times and towels changed 3 times and beds once in a week.
We liked the food in Katies Kitchen on the front,El Mecca futher in a bit and Monroes. also a good breakfast in Ennis Irish bar just across the road their lunches are good too.Papies Pub at the foot of the street is very nice and do great milk shakes and ice cream desserts for the kids, drinks for big kids too and good coffee. Did'nt like Godfathers very expensive and not too good.
Loved Palma Nova and would definatly return to the Rosa Del Mar but not in high season.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Visited in early April ~ good location although I can imagine that in July and August it could be unbearably too close to Magaluf.  Local beaches and sea very clean. Good variety of restaurants ~ Torrenova end of the bay. Recommend Maritimo on a roof terrace. Very good food and sea view. El Salmon, Blue Bar also very good. Rosa Del Mar close enough but very self contained. Good pool. Lots of loungers. Apartment clean with lots of cupboard space. Kitchen well equipped. Good supermarket out of the main gates turn left and walk for around 50m. Well stocked. One advantage was the secure car park for your hire car ~ saves you parking on the main road where it is bound to be bumped. Safety deposit box in your room around 20 euros per week though 5 euros deposit returned. 

All in all a good accommodation in good location.

The hotel was great although you could tell the staff were treating us slightly with suspision because we were young! the room was good with air con and was great 4 us 4 girls although it wouldnt be ideal for a family as there was no seperate bedroom. the 2 beds sofa bed and pull out bed were all in the living space,,, but it was ok 4 us! becareful if you all go out on the balcony too as not to shut the door else u will get locked out (as we found out) and the kind lad from nxt door had 2 go down and get our key for! i thought this was abit unsafe though as the receptionist didnot come up to the room with him 2 check he was tellin the truth! they could of given any one our key!

palma nova i didnt think much of. not very nice restaurants but nice for families i suppose. the strip in magaluf was really good as was bcm but the prs do ur head best thing to do is jus ignore them n walk away! wen cumin out of bcm walk back through bcm square and turn left up that road. wil take u straight bk to the hotel jus 5 min wlk. saves d 15 min wlk bk up d strip! i think this hotel is gr8 location as it was smack bang in the middle of palma nova and magaluf. 

i would go again definately!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

The Accommodation was very good, with the Hotel being in a very convenient location between Palma Nova and Magaluf.  

The main 'Strip' of Bars in Magaluf was only a couple of minutes walk away, as to was the distance to the nearest beach. The Centre of Palma Nova where all the restaurants are, was about a 10 minute walk around the corner.  Also just down the road to the Hotel were 3 Banks (should you need money), a Pizza Takeaway (for those too lazy to cook) and around the corner a Supermarket called 'BIP', which was very cheap.  Being in a group of blokes, we were allocated a 4-bed room in the lower ground floor (presumably to minimise noise pollution to other rooms), which had air conditioning and basic cooking utensils for self catering.  

The only downside was our bathroom having Ants in it, which we didn't really bother us too much after keeping a light managed to scare the away.  The Hotel seemed to populated mainly by English, Scally's and Scandinavians, which we found to our pleasant experience, as a stunning Norwegian girl knocked on our door in the early hours asking for a lighter with her baps hanging out! The swimming pool was of an adequate size and depth (not for serious swimmers) and the pool bar was reasonable priced (open until 5pm everyday).  The evening Entertainment was pretty good (for those with families), as we watched most of the shows having a few beers before going out, particularly the Acrobatic Cats show which was pretty impressive stuff.

As for the Nightlife, we found it was not as busy as we'd experienced it to be in previous years, so perhaps the resort is proving less popular these days.  We made our regular the Prince William Pub, which was quite busy and had Karaoke on every night.  This inevitably attracted talent ranging from good to terrible, as we experienced in way of two blokes from West Ham who persisted on taking to the stage saying 'I know we're sh*t, we're only doing this for a bet (and a free drink', then started to jump around the bar like something crossed between a Pilsbury Dough Boy and a Gummy Bear.

Afterwards we moved on up hill towards the strip to a place called Poco Loco's.  This we went to every evening, as the tunes were brilliant and seemed to be one of the busiest places around, although it isn't the biggest of places.  We also went in Boomerang's nightclub, which cost us 13 Euros and found the place to be overated and on the night we went was empty at 4am!  The other places to mention down the main strip that were pretty good were Crystal's Bar and Officer's Pub.

So all in all, we had a great holiday but won't be going back again, as the resort seems to be on the decline.

Got back in the early hours of Saturday Morning after a fantastic albeit tiring week in Maga. Just thought I'd put the record straight on the Rosa Del Mar.

Don't be put off by the fact it is advertised as being in Palma Nova, yes it may be but its as close to the strip as any place can be without being in Maga. Come out of the hotel, walk 30 yards to the right, cross the road and walk up past the Papi's pub on your left and I swear in no more than two minutes you are on the strip, albeit near the top opposite Banana's and Lennons but you're on the strip all the same.

If you ever go in the future you could do a lot worse than this place, quality hotel, nice pool, pool bar, nice apartments/studios and an all round great place to stay with a great location. Quiet Palma Nova seafront bars and restaurants one way, the strip straight ahead and BCM square a 10 minute walk the other. And this place is cheaper than many Maga hotels of the same standard simply because people see it as Palma Nova and don't consider it when its actually closer to the strip than most Maga advertised places.

When we were there it was a cross section of families and groups with a few couples dotted about. Mainly English but quite a few Spanish along with a few Norwegians.

We booked 7 nights for 7th to 14th July direct with the hotel via their website for £153. Got return flights seperate for a further £99 with First Choice and Jet2 so all in all a superb week for £254.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

My boyfriend and i arrived at the Rosa Del Mar with good intentions as he had already been here twice before. The room was fine, very good air conditioning and clean and tidy. our balcony was amazing, pool views which was very nice. we did find that there was quite a lot of ants on the balcony, so make sure that you keep the door shut if you go out on the balcony, and dont leave any crumbs as you will have thousands of them in no time! another problem, was that there were three sets of roudy lads in the rooms next door, we got woken up four times at around 4 in the morning and complained each time, but still nothing happened. it wasnt a major issue to us, but i can imagine what people with young children would be like.

the resort itself was fabulous, palma nova beach is beautiful, quite touristy but still very clean and the sea is wonderful to swim in. the strip of palma nova is lined with bars and restarants. we often ate out at the grill, where they do lovely steaks, and also abracadabras pizaria, best pizza in the world!
magaluf on the other hand, is not really as good as people say, i know i went with my boyfriend, but we still do like to go clubbin sometimes, were not old fogeys, its just it was a bit intimidating when every 2 metres you were getting dragged into a bar! families i would not recommend magaluf, stay in palma nova!

marineland was brilliant, i would definatly reccommend this its only 18euros and you get a free bus, but be careful as ours did not turn up on the way bak so we had to get a taxi, but this only cost 7 euros anyway!
overall great holiday...booking up for rosa del mar next year!

Just returned June 2006. Had a brill time would def return. Go to Magaluf beach its well nice. Loads of places to eat.Loads of bars its a must!!!!!!!!!
