Just got back from Magaluf and have to say didnt really enjoy it. 

The hotel on arrival seemed nice but having stayed there a couple of nights that opinion changed. The hotel was extremely noisy at night with people coming in at all hours of the night screaming and shouting with no consideration for other guests, and none of the staff appeared to be asking them to be quiet. The beds were changed regularly and clen towels were put in bathroom but the bathroom wasnt really cleaned properley. 

The food in the restaurant was very samey evertday and quite cold, and they do not really cater for vegetarians, and being vegetarian we did tend to  eat out a lot even though we were AI. There was plenty of salads but noy much vegetarian meals. The beach at Magaluf is lovely but the night life is wild and full of groups of teenagers and ot really my thing if you enjoy free shots and getting blind drunk you will enjoy it. the hotel towards the end of the week did start to smell like drains and the toilets in reception were very smelly aswell, again smelling like drains. We did have a problem with our roof leaking and the toilet not working but i have to say they changed our room no problem.

This hotel and resort is ok it depends what you are looking for if you enjoy clubbing til dawn then this hotel and resort are for you if you enjoy something a little more laid back then i strongly dont recommend this resort !!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Just had 1 week in Magaluf, we found the hotel very good, nice and clean, rooms comfortable, staff very helpful, food very good, the choice might be a bit repetative but it was well cooked always hot and our youngsters never complained so it must have been ok. 

The entertainment team work really hard, they are very friendly, there are lots of daytime activities to get involved in and the shows the entertainers put on are great. During the height of the season you might get more groups of young lads, but they tend to come in late and stay in bed all morning so you only see them in the afternoon, we didn't experience any trouble with these groups. 

The hotel is in a great position, 10 minutes away from the centre so doesn't get late night noise, right next to the Pirate Show, and 5 minutes from both of the water parks and a go-cart track. The Pirate Show is well recommended but we couldn't get in, while we were there it was fully booked. When you walk into the centre of Magaluf you are spoilt for choice with bars and places to eat. Magaluf is a young people place but we also enjoyed the experience. If we returned to Magaluf in the future we would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. 

A very good holiday was had by all.

THE hotel Atlantic Park is situated a 10 minute walk from the centre of magaluf and opposit the brilliant PIRATES SHOW a must see

Although advertised as a 4 star it is fair to say a 3 star rating is more appropriate. My wife and i said for a week and booked with Travel Republic, flew with EasyJet (brill) and car hire with Holiday Autos (good). The hotel is clean and tidy having just been refurbed. The pool is very small and the food is very basic and repetitive. We were half board although most were all inclusive - that would have been a bad move. After 2 evening meals we spent the rest of the time eating out.

If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel that is just on the edge of town then this will do the job - just dont expect any luxuries. There is no on site shop either.

I also expect as the season progresses then more and more younger parties will stay there which in turn causes far more noise at night. The noise insulation in the rooms is not good.

We couldnt book a late check out room, but they do provide a shower room.

The resort itself is all youd expect from this island. The beaches were kept exceptionally clean, the weather for the 1st week of june was spot on. Entertainment in the pubs and bars was great and the food was ok to.

All in all a great weeks break but would not return to this hotel as we are used to something a little less basic.

We have used the Antillas /Barbados hotel before , but the last time we used it we were put up at the Antillas Hotel. This time we were placed in the Barbados.This Hotel is a reasonable hotel hardly 4* but acceptable conition. We found the room nice and acceptable and the Bed linen,and towels were changed daily and the rooms tidyied  daily.

We arrived on saturday the 22nd july at 10 o'clock.When i booked the holiday the hotel was called the Barcello but it has changed names and is now called the Torrenova.

First impression this place looks ok reception staff were very nice could speak good english.Went to our room and it was clean but only beds made up for 2 people went back to reception to get pillow and sheets and was told we would have to wait until morning to get them as there was no one there to give them to us.Went out and had a couple of drinks something to eat and back to bed.No wonder we did'nt get sheets for the 3rd bed as we were up the whole night with the noise.I went to reception to report it and was told they would tell the manager but as there was no security there was nothing she could do but sorry. 

I went to reception and asked for a move in the morning and was told the manager would deal with the noise problem.The noise continued the whole week i went back and asked for a move again and was told they would report it to the manager again.The maids were in every day but must have come in for a rest as there was never anything done except the bin being emptied they must have spent all their time cleaning rooms that were wrecked by young ones you could see the mess when you walked past open doors.

The air con went off when you took the key out of the electric but you could get a 2nd key for 10 euros which would be refunded when you left.We found a small family run restuarant on our 1st morning and we ate there all wk morning and night.It is called the CANNY KITCHEN the woman is a geordie and her husband is Spannish  Grace and Juan also their family work there to just good home cooking excellent.That was the only good thing about our holiday.I would say it was a holiday from hell

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just returned last Saturday from a very enjoyable holiday in Barcello Apartments,Torrenova.After reading the reviews prior to going we were very wary as we'd only booked 2 weeks before & we were taking our daughter & grandaughter. We needn't have worried -everything was fine.

We did not realize that the Barcello /Palma Nova & the Barcello Apartments/Torrenova were 2 different places until the airport bus stopped half way up the hill at the Barcello/Palma Nova then carried on up the hill & turned right to arrive at the Barcello/Torrenova.(which I think were the better of the 2)

Everything was spick & span & we had a beautiful view of both the pool & the sea.We found the staff very helpful & extremeley friendly. We had meals in the dining room a couple of nights & had no complaints about food or service.

When you come out of the apartments if you turn left you go down cardiac hill to Magaluff, but if you turn right you go down a more gentle slope to Palma Nova. It's an excellent location despite the hill & we will have no hesitation in returning to either the location or the apartments in the near future.We enjoyed meals in The Boathouse,Flavours & El Mecca also enjoyed a jug of Sangria watching the world go by at the "Roundabout".Also "Ruby Tuesdays"(bottom of the not so steep hill Palma Nova)where you can even follow live horse-racing.Enjoy!!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday at Barcelo Appts Palma Nova,  firstly I would like to say that on arrival to the accomodation some of our rooms were not ready which was not a good start, the appts are full of young and very lively people 18-30, as a family I expected us to be in the majority, unfortunately we were in the minority for the fortnight we stayed, although when speaking to the reps they informed us that for the whole of August it will be full of families, their were only 20 families the fortnight we were their.

The entertainment staff tried their very best to get things up and going but with so many young people their, they were only interested in drinking games and stripping off - not really for families.

We only had around 4 hours sleep a night, because of severe noise everynight, the security man was really helpful and did shut noise up as soon as you reported it, but it seemed it continued untill you complained, we decided to drag our matresses into the living area to get some sleep in the end.

We visited both water parks in the area, we recommend either but if you have young children up to 14 we recommend you go to Western.

We ate out every night, but would highly recommed Ruby Tuesdays - down the hill on the second bend - just passed blue boar restaurant, down stairs, they are lovely friendly english people - from Dagenham, Essex.  Great Food, Great Entertainment, Great company, give them a try you won't regret it.

I am sorry if you are just about to visit this resort, but make sure you make a note of all incidents and fill in a complaint form at the resort if you are un-happy

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. How they can advertise this place as a family resort/accomodation is a joke. EVERY adult we spoke to complained about the noise young groups of teens made when they rolled in drunk at 3-6am!! I am 18 myself but have some respect for others. It was shocking. 

The room was very dirty and dated with no plugs in the kitchen so you have to boil a kettle in the bathroom. TAKE EARPLUGS and a sense of humour - or else you'll cry. It's probably great if you want to go and get drunk and be rowdy. For a family holiday - avoid!!!

Hey everyone! Well i thought i would tell you a bit about the "Glasgow Girls" holiday lol. We had the BEST time ever this is certainly a place u have to go!
Firstly the hotel: the hotel is so nice inside  The reception staff and security guards are really friendly and so helpful.(and considering there was 8 girls we did meet guys there and they didnt seem to mind us running from room to room as long as we werent out of control)The pools are great and so is the snack bars. And yes it is up a big hill but its not that big and you walk 2 mins down it and ur on the main strip amazing!

The clubs: the clubs are amazing, you have to go to BCM it s the main club there but dont go at the weekend because you'll be followed by loads of sleazy spanish guys eww all old btw. Also go to the 5clubs where u pay 10 euros n tht gets u in them all Bananas Carwash n boomerangs is the ones u have to go to really good nights in there! also go to mulligans right across from bananas its good for hot guys girls n the music is good lol. turn left after mulligans n the main strip carries on there is a bar across from mulligans tht if u go get the |PRs to take u in u might get the good deal of 3 euros for all ur drink for an hour. n lush is 1 euro a drink if u get the Prs again lol.

Foam parties are good we only went to 1 cos we had things planned for every other night but def go to one so you can say you've been to one lol

Pirates show was amazin i wasnt to fussed about goin bt was well worth it totally amazin bt if u go with the reps u go to a few bars before hand s eat something first or u'll b starving lol.

the cabaret by the reps in first choice AMAZIN was soo good was such a good laugh i had a great time the reps get naked and girls there is a really hot rep called fabio or something like that didnt quite catch his name :P

booze cruise aww what can i say except go on it!

Very warey about going to this hotel because of the previous mixed reports. The hotel itself is quite nice, it was clean and the facilities were ok. The rooms basic but comfortable. The staff were quite friendly. The "Hill" is quite steep but it keeps you fit, but not so good for prams if you have one.

We stayed here the last two weeks in June hoping to avoid the high season peak weeks and loads of young adults!. This is marketed as a 'Family Hotel' and it couldn't have been further from the truth.
Out of 220 rooms, there was approx a dozen families staying there, the rest were very large groups (we recon at least two groups of 25-30 people) of Young people. We spent the whole two weeks without one full nights sleep, as we were waken by these people shouting, screaming, banging on doors, ringing door bells, running round corridors, singing and generally making way too much noise, all this from around 2am until 6.30-7am. We complained constantly but the hotel just couldn't cope with the quantity of young ones.

First choice should either market this as a proper 'Family Hotel' or an 18-30 holiday but not try and mix the two. It would be really great families hotel!

Besides all that,
The resort is great with plenty to do. We have been here once before, but wanted to return to do the things we hadn't done the first time around. The beech (Palma Nova) is clean and flat and great for swimming in the sea. We went on the beech around 3pm (too hot before then) and we didn't have to pay for the sunbeds as it was quite late.

Eating Out -There are plenty of places to eat, the cafe at the bottom of the hill on the corner has a good full english breakfast for around 3 euros (inc tea/coffe) but the best place we found was "The Happy House" about half way on Magaluf Beach front next to Tom Browns. (We found the service at Happy house far better and friendlier than Tom Browns)

Pirates - We have been before but couldn't wait to go back, and we weren't dissapointed. We went for the Quarter Deck seats this time and because we arrived early (1/2 hour before show) we got to talk to the pirates outside for ten minutes on our own and got seats right next to the stage. Quarter deck is a bit expensive, and the champagne tastes better with the Sangria added to it, but we were right next to most of the action. A brilliant night out and be prepared to loose your voice with all the shouting.

Trip to Soller - Soller at the north of Island is the only area we've not covered before. We decided to make our own way there. If you do go, as we did, catch an early bus (9am) from Magulf bus stop to Palma (2.30 euros each one way. The old Soller train station is about a 5 min walk towards Palma centre. Return to Soller is 11euros (for 8 years +). Beware the train station cafe - Very Expensive!!
The journey to soller is very good and scenic, beware there is a long tunnel, about 8mins to get through. We were going to walk to Soller port but caught the Tram (2 euros) instead, and I'm glad as it's about a 20min journey, and well worth the fare.

We all went to Magaluf from 4th June for two weeks and stayed in the Barcelo palma nova apartments in Magaluf - it was without a doubt the best holiday I have ever been on!!!

Some of the reviews about our hotel were quite crap but there is absolutely nothing to worry about, the rooms were clean and the maid was in every day to change towels/sheets etc and empty the bins. Even though its up a bit of a hill its hardly Everest and we carried ourselves up it 3 or 4 times a day (complete with lilo, boatee and rubber rings!!!)after a good baking at the beach so only the wimps will have any trouble!!!

Hiya to Tracey & Tasha our brilliant reps who were just as bad as us but the best of craic, yous made our holiday. Hope maguire's cd player is pumpin out the tunes in your apartment!!! (The stupid monkey left it at reception when rushin out to the bus to go home DUUUHHH)

As far as the nightlife is concerned, Magaluf has absolutely everything and even a few 24hour bars for the alco's - come 6am everyone flocked round so the nite doesnt have to end at all!!!

There is a wee bar just down from the hotel called the Rose & Crown - Hello Maria!!! We were in everyday for our sex on the beach before going back up to get ready to head out.  A good place to start off drinking was Funky Monkeys (beside Boomerangs) where the DJ's were happy to let us give in tons of requests - (yes you Suzy!) and they even have a resident celebrity as the owner......

Boomerangs was one of our favourite clubs and perfect for single girls to pull in..... just remember to take yer beer goggles off cus eeeeeeuuugh heaven forbid I didn't think I got beer goggles but from now on they will be staying at home! Relax, most of the fellas were actually quite hot!!

BCM is also great fun - and you get loads of free stuff as well as free drink all nite (no catch).  The beer goggle rule applies here as well - at the foam party the fellas like to get their Wilson's out so just member to keep your arms when you can see them!!

The best foam party of all is definitely at carwash, it was on a wed nite but def make sure you go, and wear something old cus the foam literally fills the palce so you cant breathe!! but its great.

Anyway hope this gives you a wee idea of what to expect in magaluf but it was the best place ever, by the time you get home you'll need another holiday to recover!!!!!

Hotel very nice upon arrival. Got to our room & it was nice, basic & clean. Horrible view of the corridor!!!
Not a problem getting sunbeds which was a surprise as sometimes we didn't sunbathe until the afternoon.
Close to the centre of Magaluf & the beach (only if you are fit enough to manage the million steps!!!)
I would stay here again but I would prefer a room with a decent view!!

Just want to say this was the best holiday i hvae ever been on.
I was really worried about going as i read some of the reviews before i left and they all said about the appartment being dirty, untidy and noisy, the appartments are lovely and clean and the reception staff and reps are all really helpful.
The appartments are up a slight hill but dont worry it not that bad!!!

If your going to Majorca you have to go and see the Pirate Show it is fantastic ask your rep about it and they sort it out for you.

Also i thought the food in Majorca was lovely you have to go to Florida 2 Restaurant just below appartments is nice!!

Well all in all i had a brilliant holiday and would definately go back.

First off, I think the most important thing to say is, if u r taking ur family away, MAGALUF IS NOT 4 U.Try San Vincente or something.

However, if u r young party people looking for the best nights of ur life, this is the best place to go!!!!

I landed back in England at 5 this morning, so this is an up to date fresh-in the-mind view.

For the nightlife:
We live in a pretty rough town, if u glance at some1 they want to hit you. I thought Magaluf would be this way but it's not. we met very few people with bad attitudes.
We arrived at 3am, and as the bus went up the hill we saw a man had been bottled, there were police everywhere and it was overcrowded. This did give us a misconception, it's far more chilled out and we never saw a fight all holiday, just lots of drunken fun.

We immediately enrolled in Heatwave which is joint with 2wentys. For those of u who dont know what that is, it's a bit like club 18-30 without gettin pressurised to do things u dont want to do. It cost us £98 to enroll. This was for a barbeque(all u can eat and all u can drink) and a big night out, pirates ( a show with free drink and food), a boozecruise(free drink)and a pub crawl. It was well worth the money as it structures the night so u dont get bored, and it helps you to make new friends. You also get a dvd of ur nights out.

BCM is world famous 4 a reason, it is fantastic and the drinks r free. it's only 17 euros to get in if u get PR'd, which u will and it's free drinks all night. U can get free stuff but we got done out of ours.MAKE SURE THEY GIVE U A BLUE TICKET, NOT A YELLOW 1, OR U CAN'T GET FREE STUFF.

Retro is a gr8 club, as are Tokyo joes and boomerang(we called it Bananahammock coz we could never remember the name). It's only 9 euros to get in 5 of the best clubs, and u get a free drink.

You will get PR'd to the max, at 1st it's fun, but after a while u get pi**ed off with being dragged in places, especially when u are on ur way to somewhere else.  Most of the PRs r gorgeous though, especially one at the English Bar called Alex's.  Go there, it's a great way to start the night off.  The office is also fantastic and u can get keyrings with a picture of u and ur friends there.

Everywhere offers buy one get 1 free on drinks, a free shot(sum offer 2) and sumtimes a big cocktail.
CAN WE SAY A BIG HELLO AND A BIG THANK U TO OUR REPS TRACEY AND JONNY, WE'LL C U AT THE REUNION IN NOVEMBER!!!
The best places to eat are on the sea front.  Apparently the Robin Hood is cheap and nice, we never went there though.

Now for the apartments:
Yes, they r filled with young people, but it's Magaluf, the equivalent or Blackpool, it's all tacky keyrings and teenagers, it's not for families at all, expect noise.
On the first night we had some people back to our apartment and they turned some music on, i swear blind it was on quietly and we were making no noise. a second later we had a guard on the roof outside our balcony screaming at us and another banging on the door, it was slightly over the top, but we never played music again all holiday so i guess they did their job.

The staff at reception are all lovely, decent people.
Our room was actually quite dirty when we arrived.The cleaners are loud, unfriendly and incompetent, if they dont wanna clean up they should have office jobs or something. Our room was not cleaned once during our stay.  Fresh towels were left once or twice and they left us 1 bottle of bathroom cleaner, which i assume was a hint (as if we're gonna clean bathrooms on our holiday!!!!)

The actual hotel was nice though, the pool is always clean and tidy, the bar staff are friendly but speak very little english, so u might not get the right order.  The reception area is particularly nice with marble floors and glass doors.
The hill outside is steep, for an unfit larger drinker like me it's a challenge to walk up all the steps from the beach and then up a hill, but 4 cross country runners it'll b a doddle. I'll admit i did slip straight on my ar** walking down the hill(I was soba), i have the bruises to prove it.

We had a balcony which didn't get any sun at any time of the day, and looked out onto a roof top. it was quite depressing, although some people had a balcony which faced a wall and an avery which woke them up every morning, that would have been worse. Others had pool views with sun on their balconys all day. If u stamp ur feet u probably get those ones.I think they try to seperate younger ones from families, so the best rooms r 4 the families.
Our room was air conditioned, but we were right next door to a generator which was really noisy.

There is a supermarket next door to the apartments so u can rest assured if u've forgotten anything, they'll have it, and they also have chocolate croissants which is never a bad thing.
Palma nova is literally a two minute walk away,it's just a toned down version of Magaluf.  The hotel is out of the noise of the clubs, so it's pretty much a perfect place to be. the strip starts about half way down the hill, which is fantastic.  There is a huge department store in Palma, just a short taxi ride away.

U have to b at the pool 4 9:30 at the very latest to get a sun lounger, people put their towels on them and then sod off back to bed, yes, it's a little mean.
If u've got a hangova, get urself a bottle of water and get out on a sun lounger, if u stay in ur room all day u'll regret it when u go home. We all tanned up nicely because we'd come in from the clubs about 6ish, get a shower, get a bikini on and go straight down for a sun lounger, n sleep there, there's no need to sleep in the beds.
There's a rumer that GHD straightners don't work over there because of the low voltage, this is a lie, mine worked fine.  However, I did look like a troll doll after 10 minutes of leaving the apartments every night "IT'S THE HUMIDITY!!!". Take straightning fluid and smoothing balm, or u too could end up troll-like.

Every teenager is in Magaluf for the s*x. It truly is that simple, it's just a known fact. However, this encourages men to pressure lasses into it, there's about 7 lads to every 1 lass, so girls, don't go with the first, u'll have done better by the end of the night!!!!
Gone are the days when going on holiday was cheap, this cost us £400 each incl. insurance.  But even more galling, everything's expensive in magaluf because they've changed to euros.  Take plenty of money, even if u bring loads back, just to b on the safe side.
The hotel is only about 15 minutes away from the airport which is cool, because u don't want to be on a coach for hours in that heat.

Teenagers, get urself there, it's the best holiday u'll ever have. We only went for a week and 2 out of 3 of us wish now we'd gone for longer.  Families, give it a miss, there's plenty of classier places for you to go, it wont be what u r looking for.

I hope this has helped you, if anyone wants to dispute it, do, but I think this is a 100% accurate account of the way things are.Have a good holiday, it is what u make it!!!!!!!!!

I can honestly say this was the best holiday i have ever had!!

The accomadation was brilliant. we had a room with a view of the pool and the beach, everything was tidy as we arrived no complaints at all! the room service was excellent clean sheets, towels and everything that you need is changed on a regular basis!
Only slight problem was being able to get a sunbed in the mornings but if your up early enough you will get one. Everyone at the resort was lovely and making friends around the pool was good especially as it came to the evening and you all planned a night out together!

I have read some of the reviews and some people have complained about the hill. it is a slight hill, not hard to walk up and down every day! we had like 5 inch shoes on walking down at 10 in the evening and walking back up drunk at 7 in the morning and it was no problem at all!!!!!!
There was shops all around the resort so it was easy to take a quick trip if you needed anything!

There are two beaches in palma nova/Magaluf, unfortunatly we didnt no that untill we had arrived back at home!  we were the blonde 1s who walked 15 mins down the road to a beach rather than crossing the road from the appartment walking down some steps and being at magaluf beach, we will be sure to go to that beach next time!!

The nightlife was excellent, so many clubs and bars to choose from! every club/bar did buy 1 get 1 free on all drinks and free shots, you may even get a VIP pass to some bars where you get 1 free drink every night! you only need 10 - 20 euros a night depending on where your going! BCM's was apparently good, we never got there ourselves which we regret but will make sure we go there next time! its 12 euros to get in and free drinks all night! another good deal is 9 euros to get into 5 clubs and also a free drink! tkyo joes is one of the best clubs there especially if you like r&b, garage type music!

Be ready for magaluf, you wont get in from the night before until 6 or 7 in the morning and you need to get on your sunbed for 9 in the morning for a good day of sunbathing, so you wont get much sleep, make sure you dont spend your whole holiday clubbing all night and staying in your bed all day coz you will go home without a tan and you will regret it!!!!

We enjoyed are holiday soooo much that we are going there again in july 2005! i recommened it to every teenager who is looking for a lively holiday with friends but i do not recommend it to families because they will not get much sleep with all the noise coming from the clubs/bars and teenagers and they will spend thier whole holiday complaining and moaning!!

i am going back to magaluf on 19 july 2005, look forward to meeting new lively teenagers looking for a fantastic and lively holiday! it will the best holiday ou have ever had i promise!

Well after reading the bad reports on this hotel and resort we were expecting the holiday from hell. We even considered cancelling! But we couldn't have been more wrong. We had a great time. 

The hotel was nothing like the reports. It was clean, tidy, staff were helpful. The pools were lovely and clean. And a big thank you to Kat,Richard and Claire (the reps)whom were excellent. Not much more to say except GO and try it, you won't be dissapointed. p.s dont worry about the dreaded hill its a doddle, must be a lot of very unfit people about! And for a family of four, under a grand can't be bad.

First of all i would like to say that when we booked this holiday, only at the end of april this year, we were made aware that these self catering appartments where more family orientated than 16-30, so i was expecting to see children there, as some reviewers on here have complained about, it's a family complex what do you expect!!? Evan though i do like going out of a night i do also like a good nights sleep, but we find that the noise did cause a bit of a problem, from a few lads coming back p****d up, also our room (709) did back onto a road at the top of that hill where there was someone's aveiry in their garden so we heard birds singing at 6'o clock every morning, which started their dog barking aswell!

Apart from the bit of noise in the early hours i cannot fault the appartments at all, for those who have stayed in SC appt's before i personally thought that it was a nice suprise that you actually had a lovely, clean, quiet reception area and desk which was staffed at all hours. we had no problems with security and regulary left clothes, jewellery and other bits lying around in our room, but nothing was taken, we had a lovely pool view but generally like to spend our afternoons at the beautiful beech after having our breakfast at the lovely Florida 2 restaurant down from hill.

Over all i cannot fault this holiday, i had been to Palma nova befor so i wanted to go back and i'm very pleased we chose the barcelo appartments, and for those moaning about the hill i didn't think it was that bad, you spend all that time eating, that hill was a bit of exercise!!

You wont regret booking to stay at the Barcelo appt's, it's just a bit of bad luck for those who have had something bad to say!

as soon as we walked through the doors we were greeted by a smile. the receptionists and security guards were brilliant. arriving back at 7 o'clock every morning you'd think they'd get annoyed but we always had a laugh and a joke.  there were 8 of us altogether and we also met a bunch of boys the same age.  they didn't mind us running round to each others rooms as long as we weren't too mad.  the rooms were very clean, 4 girls in each.  there was enough room for us all to get ready and slap our make up on.  

the pool was wicked lots of good memories.  the hotel itself is situated in the perfect spot.  fine to roll down but a nightmare to get back up after a few bevys.  we're going back this year but unfortunatly not able to stay in the hotel.  we've spoken to the boys and they've changed there hotel to stay there again because they know its good. no doubt we'll pay them a visit.
the bars were brilliant and loads of free drink.  our meeting point was oasis bar just opposite the hotel.  the staff were really friendly and a great laugh.  we'd also recommend stop bar, bananas and boomarangs!!!!
can't wait to go back this year it's fab.
Watch out magaluf the cardiff girls are back, and there's more of us this year!!!

Took a long weekend to Magalluf in October with 2 friends.Flew with Jet2.com from Leeds.Cheap and cheerfull,and perfectly adequate.Pre booked taxi.perfect.No waiting,at apartments within 20 minutes.

Have stayed at Barcelo Torrenova before with family and was not disappointed.Room spotless.Fantastic sea views.Maid sevice and clean towels every day,and air con and TV!

However,everything has a downside and here it's  THE HILL!
Theres no getting away from it.In to magalluf it's shortish and VERY steep,in to Palma Nova it's long,a drag and not quite so steep,so you takes your choice....

As regards october night life,most things open in magalluf,Mano's seems to swing at any time of year,the Three Lions,great for football if thats your thing.
Palma Nova quieter,though Ruby Tuesdays was fun,the Jungle bar directly underneath was great for Rugby League,and there's a gret chinese by the son matias hotel.
Will be back next year,but somewhere just a little flatter!

The Palma Nova Apartments were formally known as Barcelo Torrenova. 

This hotel is advertised with First Choice as an ideal hotel for families and couples.Please Please take note that this is definately not a family hotel. I was assured by First Choice when booking that this is not a hotel that is advertised in the 18-30 brochure. I however cannot believe this. The place is swamped by mainly groups of lads and young girls. In the week I stayed there I did not meet one family. My husband and I like a good time however this took the mick. We were woken up in the early hours by yobs shouting, girls in the next apartment fighting and smashing glasses. When the yobs did arise they took over the pool area and we found this intimidating. 

The apartments are clean but very basic. The air conditioning was very poor and went off at 1.00am and would come on again about 7.00am. We complained to the staff repeatedly about this and they blamed it on trying to save energy. They admitted on the last day that this is turned off to save money. we had to sleep right under the air con unit as it was poor and this was awful in the heat. 

We also heard reports whilst there that some youngsters had money stolen from their apartments. The front glass doors were all smashed and cracked. Obvious signs that yobs had kicked it in. Most nights we were in bed by 1.00am as to avoid the commotion in the early hours. This way we avoided any trouble. The bar staff were really friendly and the receptionist Nora was lovely as well. The hotel is situated right at the top of a very steep hill which is a killer in the heat. 

The apartments are stated as being in Palma Nova, however we felt that they were definately in Magaluf. When you walk down the hill you can go right to walk into Palma Nova or left to the main strip of Magaluf. Most nights we ventured into Palma Nova as this has a much more relaxed atmosphere. Magaluf has become very rowdy with lots of yobs and trouble. I would recommed walking into Palma Nova for a much more trouble free evening. The Florida Resturant however at the bottom of the hill is fantastic for food and very reasonable. The resort itself is very beautiful and the beaches are fab. I have been to Palma nova a couple of years ago and found it great so was willing to return however would never return to this hotel. I did previously stay at the Rosa Del Mar. This is a great family hotel with lovely facilities. We did try to book in their for the last few days of our holiday however they were fully booked. They were happy however for us to use their pool during the day which we did. 

All in all I had a great week however the Palm nova Apartments were the noiseiest, most rowdiest apartments i have ever stayed in and I would never ever return to them. I would certainly say that you should really consider all of this if you are a family wanting a quiet holiday as you will not get this here. The staff seem to have no control over the yobs and dont seem to care for the other guests. The rep Ian was great though and did his best to make things pleasant for us. Majorca is a brilliant place though and there are plenty of other great places to stay. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

When booking the holiday, the travel agent advised us to take a taxi from Palma airport to Magaluf rather than book transfers through them. We were told transport for 5 or more people was readily available at the airport, however we found this was untrue. We ended up getting two taxis, which at 35Euro each wasn't too unreasonable and was quick and convenient, but became more expensive than an arranged transfer would have been.

On entering our rooms, we found that the lights in one of the rooms didn't work and the electric key socket was broken exposing wires!
However after we complained, it was repaired immediately.

Overall we found Barcelo Torrenova apartments a very nice place to stay - great location - Only 5 minutes from both Palma Nova and Magaluf. The hill isn't that bad if your fit (or very drunk).
great views of the sea from the pool and most rooms (but we could only see the children's play area).
Can't comment on the food but there are so many good places to eat in Magaluf and Palma Nova.
The hotel is reasonably quiet during the night due to the silence policy, but we found noisy delivery men and bin men woke us up every morning before 8am!
My main complaint is that the rooms never got cleaned and bedding never got changed during the week.

Would recommend Western Water park (even to those who don't like that sort of thing). Great day out. We had loads of fun.

Nightlife is great however it became really annoying down the main strip with hundreds of PR's trying to get you into every bar. At least we found you can avoid the strip and get straight to BCM from the hotel via the beach. We loved BCM so much, went 4 times during the week - free bar, free gifts and big name DJ's for only 20Euro. Better than any club you'll find in the UK.

I'd definitely return to Magaluf and apart from the cleanliness, have no complaints with the hotel.

Just returned from a week at the Barcelo Torrenova - Magaluf and what can I say? - awful!  As I have never been to Mallorca before I took friend's advice and decided to go to Palma Nova.  When I enquired at Thomson's for PALMA NOVA they offered me the Barcelo Torrenova.  Being new I looked on this site and found only one TORRENOVA in PALMA NOVA and that was the Marina.  I mentioned this to the rep and she never said anything, so I ended up in a dump in MAGALUF!

The room was small, basic, sooo 70s retro and very dirty.  The towels were never changed unless you ran after the maids and made them take them away. The first two nights we never slept because of revellers in the next room in the small hours, who eventually went into the pool at 4am! When I mentioned to the rep that we had asked for Palma Nova she said this hotel was.  Strange thing is I searched for ages in this web site and eventually found it under Magaluf.

The good points to give the hotel marks out of 10 are: the pool, nice, with plenty of loungers, lovely views over Magaluf Bay.  May I also mention the entertainment staff - they were lovely!  Well done to Christain and Nora who went out of their way to put on really good shows.  They deserve a commendation.  Always smiling, pleasant and helpful.  Loved the BINGO!
For what we paid the accommodation was abysmal.  Would never recommend it.  Total rip off.

This holiday was fab!! would go back without a doubt!! i completely disagree with a previous review posted i thought the hotel was very clean an i wouldn't have said everyone was young at all!! the hotel itself was clean an the view from our balconies was absolutly stunning!! 

the location is brilliant for enjoying the nightlife!! the hill can be an issue but not that bad and taxi's are no more than 3 euros iv u needed to get one home from the strip!! the location is great you can actually get a nites sleep if you need one!! the only problem we had were the maids DONT leave anything lying around!! we had bits an bobs go missing from our rooms an we know it wasnt lost!! safety deposit box is a must have an makesure the key is well hidden or with u at all times!! our ipods passports an large amounts of money all stayed safe in there!! just dont leave any change out u may have from the night before it wont stay there!!!! 

air conditioning is great when doors are left shut!!! an the security gaurds can be quite friendly wen u get to know them!! although they did try to give us a warning on our first night!! pool is nice an loved the way u could walk down the path an jump in the sea!! watch the rocks though!! 

overall this was a brilliant holiday and dont let the lil probs put u off its not worth it!! just dont let your gaurd down an the holidays amazin!!

Please check the brochure before you go here. Suitable for couples and families it states. It is a YOUTH UNIT. 85% of guests are under 25.

We found the hotel very noisy lots of fighting and parties until all hours. Security did come and sort them out but it is frightening when you are woken up to the next apartment being smashed up and the occupantants trying to stab each other. The ground outside our apartment was littered with used condoms, people are allowed to sit in the pool with glass bottles of beer.(v.dangerous?).Rooms were broken into while we were there and people had their passports stolen.This place is a candidate for holidays from hell.

The hotel is situated in a very hilly part of torrenova.You have to walk around the corridoors to reach one very old and smelly lift which does not reach every floor or traipse up and down up to 6 flights of steps to get to your room. We were down on the first floor. we had beautiful sea view this was the best bit. After 5 nights of no sleep. we checked out and had to pay one thousand euros to move somewhere else. If you want a holiday with a bit of r&r then dont go here!!!!!!!!!!!!we shan't go back

This was the best hotel on the island....just 5 minutes down the road and you are at the start of the strip...including Carwash, Bannanas, The Venue(Now Mulligans), Fusion etc..
The view from the rear of the hotel is fantastic and the hotel includes a mini football pitch, lovely pool and indoor bar lounge.
You can swim in th sea as there is a path leading down to there (if u dive to th bottom see if u can find my phone for me..i dropped it!)
Overall this hotel and holiday was the holiday of a lifetime!!
Make sure you go to Pirates Night(adult) and the Catamorange (booze cruise) NOT TO BE MISSED!!!

The holiday experience was very good. The only drawback we had as a group was that a mobile phone was stolen from the room one night when we were out in town. No locks were broken so our room was entered with a key. Apart from that the nightlife was superb. Well worth it!

We have just returned from a weeks self catering holiday. 

The hotel room and all areas was very clean and tidy. Every one was very pleasant and helpful. We had a sea view room and the view was fabulous. We looked right over the bays of Palma Nova and Magalluf. 

The only down side to this hotel is THE HILL. My God it is steep. I had read the other reviews and everyone mentions the hill, but seeing and walking up it is believing it!!!!!! Anyone who is not fit and active should avoid this hotel at all costs. I think the hill should be called "Cardiac Hill" I felt as if I was in cardiac arrest everytime I'd climbed up it. I thought at the beginning it would be easier as the week went on, but it wasn't. The only good point is that taxis are cheap. 

We had a lovely holiday and the hotel is very good, it's just a pity about the hill.

Magaluf is a fantastic resort, as a group of 6 friends it was the best choice. There is always something going on. Hardcore clubbers and families both come here and both really enjoy it.

We arrived at the Barcelo Torrenova at about 3 o clock in the morning, so obviously all very tried. But the man who greeted us gave us a lecture about all the things we could do that would get us kicked out. This was a bad first impression of the staff, which didn't get any better - they aren't very friendly! My major problem however, was the maid service. I would recommend that if you do visit these apartments you invest in the safety deposit box. And besides that we didn't get clean towels one the whoe week. Our rep was useless aswell, he just told us where the maids area was, so we could pinch ourselves some towels. Very helpful.

The pool is lovely and clean though, and the veiw is amazing the pool overlooks the sea, as did our balcony. No problems getting sunbeds, although we did go in Spetember, so the apartments weren't full. 

Last thing I want to mention is the hill. It does say in the brochure that there is a big hill, and I'm not going to lie. Its a killer. But if you leave the apartments and turn right rather than left (directly into the bars and restaurants) you'll walk though a more residential area. If you follow this road down you get to the strip. Although its a little bit longer, this is an alternative route to consider on nights when you really can't face that hill!

I would probably go to the Barcelo Torrenova again, but for its location, rather than the service.

Our overall impression of this hotel was a complete nightmare! Upon arriving at 5.00am in the morning i was greeted by a boisstrous receptionist. As i was waiting i could here comotion out by thee pool area only to discover a younglad get hitbyeemed as the hotel security with his truncheon. this bust up continued until the man got what he seemingly deserved. the next few hours were spent talking t othe police, who were no more po;lite than our receptionist. 

the location of the hotel is verey good although th hill is more like a mountain,,,,, its big!! We had no clean towels delivered all week and also had our travellers cheques stolen from the safety box 3 days in,,, great,, no money!!

The actual pool is very modern and clean with a beautifgul view of magaluf bay. This hotel overall i feel is not suitable for families and teenagers alike as the staff do not look after you, nor show anycare or attention to the crime (theft) occutring on the premises.

Magaluf undoubtedly has fabulous night life, suitable for most ages as well (may be too rowdy for families with young children)

The Pirates show is quite simply unmissable. See the adult version if not with kids.

Also any clubbers cannot miss BCM, foam party or R n B night, they are excellant.

P.R's are a pain but who cares when they get you cheap drinks!?

The Barcelo Torrenova is situated on a fairly steep hill however, this would only bother those travelling with anyone with limited mobility. The taxi drivers can sort this out though for a very small price! The pool was very clean as were the rooms and all facilities were well maintained.

N.B. You cannot reach the bottom floor via the lift so don't even try. Go to the 2nd floor then use the stairs!

Where do I start?

Its situated in a great place, although it's on top of a hill you literally slide down to get to the bottom and kill yourself trying to get up, it's near the strip and the beach.  It's close enough to walk everywhere but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet if you wish.

In Aug 04 three rooms got broken into and money as well as other stuff was taken from the rooms.  This all happened in the space of a few days!  Fair enough things like that do happen but we were friend with the people who were robbed and the staff offered them no help at all.  Put them in a taxi to the police station 30mins away, baring in mind they've got no money now, instead of getting the police to come to the hotel.

Our baloney door could be opened from the outside when it was 'locked' and we made numerous complaints about this.  They kept fixing it, it kept breaking.

Our towels weren't cleaned for days so we complained and complained, in the end we threw them in the middle of the floor and the maid kindly picked them up and put them back in the bathroom, dirty of course.

The rooms are basic and they are clean! and the pool is clean too!

Receptionist is a bit scary, walked in one night to him shaking a trunchon at an 18 year old lad about to hit him and he refused to let girls staying in the hotel inside the hotel.

I'd say it was mainly a family hotel with a few youngsters in but not enough to put you oldies off.

Got told off by the guard a few times for being to loud but come on? It's a holiday? Don't really see what the problem was seeing as our next door neighbours were under 30.  Sure everyone want to relax but isn't the whole point of a holiday to have fun?

Theres a spar right oposite the hotel selling everything which is good, sells everything we have here, same prices.

Hotel entertainment wasn't my thing but benefit of the doubt it wasn't that bad.  Hotel drink prices were.

Don't rate the maids at all, they came in every day only to shout and wake you up so you didn't have a clue were you where and to empty the bin.  There are couch beds in the main room where we slept and we found it wrong really for the maids to come in whilst you were asleep, i don't think this would have been the case if we were a family.

the rep was ok with us although being a true sales man tried to pull the wool over our eyes with his money saving 'freestyle' offer.  Take my advice and do your own thing, you'll save money this way.

Anyway if you do decide to go here it's an ok hotel, Florida's a great and cheap resturant to eat in, Magaluf nightlife is undescribable and enjoy your holiday. i did, strangly enough, take it all in your stride and complain like hell.

Barcelo Torrenova is situated on the headland in between Palma Nova and Magaluf. As You come out of the apartment turn left to go to Magaluf or right to go to Palma Nova.
It has probably the best sea view you will get in the resort. As you look off you balconey all you can see is water. Lovley.

The great view comes at a price though, the apartment is litrally built in to a cliff face. This means it is a fair walk up a very steep hill to get there. Because of this it is unsuitable for pepole with mobility problems. But for people like me it is fine.

As it is just out of the way, it is in a very quiet area, also after 12:00am a the apetmaent operates a silence policy along its corridoors which really does seem to work.
The building is very clean, it does have a strange layout though. Most rooms you have to go down to from reception instead of up. The Pool is situated on what can only be described as the roof. very stange.

Overall this a one great apartment and I would definatly recommend it.

Do not go to the Barcelo Torrenova. Staff are abusive and inconsiderate of the guests especially when your room has been broken into. Consistently accused me and my party of vandalism when we were not even in the apartment building and our Thomson rep was no help whatsoever when asked for advice. The manager was a sterotypical Frenchman who was more worried about the apartments and did not give a damn when guests were roobed.

Now the thefts 3 rooms broken into within 24 hours and still the staff didn't do much apart from the security guard who walks into rooms at 3:30am looking for towels which I find rather bizarre.

We have just returned from two weeks at the Barcelo - we booked this holiday 3 days prior to travel and was accommodation on arrival.  I must admit that when we was told we were going to Magaluf our initial reaction was oh my god.  We could not have been more wrong.

Our first impretion of the hotel was that it was very clean and the reception staff were friendly.  We were given a room directly over reception number 716 which had a lovely big lounge, kitchen and bathroom.  The balcony was huge and overlooked both the sea and the pool, we even had air con which was a god send the two weeks we were there.

I must admit that these appartments are not the quietest ones and seem to attract large groups of young male and females which can get a little bit roudy, but our reaction was that for the amount that we had paid for two weeks we could not really complain.

We had a group of Norweign lads on one side of us and a group of Swedish lasses on the other side, and they did play music until around 1 am every morning but then disappeared clubbing until around 7.00 am.  I must admit we never heard them come in and they also asked if the music was too loud for our little girl who usually fell asleep around 12.00 mid night.

Overall could not find anthing wrong with these apparments.

The resort of magaluf reminded us a little like blackpool with the sun, ie lots of groups etc but we found that ok to a certain degree.

Would not go back to Magaluf again as we prefer somewhere a little quieter, but would recommend the Barcelo.

This I have to admit was my first holiday without my parents. sad i know being 21 and all. I went with 8 other lads shareing 2 rooms at barcello torrenova.
The early signs were that things werent looking good after the coach driver taking us to the appartments broke the legs on my suitcase.

Upon arriving at the Appartments we were given a warm welcome by the guy behind the counter. After signing in we headed to the 1st room where we all went after being told the other room was not quite ready.
We dumped our stuff changed and hit the pool and bar!

Later the room was ready and we moved all the stuff across.
The room was very good, spacious, clean and everything you want. The satalite tv required a 5euro deposit for the use but we got the telly working without it. cheeky or just plain cheap. we figured that the money would be better spend on beer!
All rooms had air con and a balcony.
the pool was clean and tidy. the bar and cafe at poolside was well stocked and in comparrsion a little pricey.
A good point of the hotel is the shop litterally outside the main door to the hotel.

the hotel change travellers cheques fr 1 euro commission. reguardless of size.
The staff are friendly even if the cleaner does wake you up early after you have only just got in at 7 in the morning. The cleaning staff are efficent but do like shouting at you in spanish especially if you are passed out drunk in the hall way.

The only thing that does get a little annoying is the security guards that patrol the complex at night are keen to keep the place quiet and will knock the door at night to tell you to shut up!
I found that if you t ry to befriend them, even little gestures such as yes no thank you and please and hello in spanish will help them be nicer to you.

None of us spoke spanish except for pleasentares but we befriended "Leo" the guard and ended up teaching him english and 5 most mornings!

overall despite the hills surrounding the hotel(put it this way you go out you go up hill you come in you go up hill!) and the occassionally over zealous guards the hotel is superb.
Not good for famillies but youngsters will love it

Just got back from a 11 night stay at the Barcelo Torrenova with my boyfriend and had a fantastic holiday....here is my view...

Hotel

The hotel itself is clean and has fantastic views from reception as you walk in. A problem we did find tho was because the reception was not closed off, noise echoed and it was v. noisey in our room as we were hust above reception. But that wasnt too much of a problem!

The pool area was also v. clean and there was also plenty of sun loungers, no mad rush to get one. The snack bar sells reasonably priced food, but as we were self catering, we found the spar across the road useful.

Nearing the end of the holiday, it was becoming v. busy with groups of friends, who did have to get told off for bottles round and in the pool, but that didnt bother us.

Only little niggle we did have was that we had requested a sea view/ pool view, and ended up with the fabulous view of the Spar. The hotel and Thomson Rep were really good and offered to move us on the 3rd day of our holiday, but by then, and after the info that we were on the quietest corridor in the hotel, we had come to like our room.

Another litle niggle about the hotel was we had no balcony furniture, and after complaining numerous times, we finally recieved it........ON THE LAST DAY! ha

Entertainment in the hotel was good, and the general atmosphere was brilliant. A good mixture of families, couples and groups of friends.

Resort

This hotel is situated in a resedential area but is just up the hill from both Palma Nova and Magaluf (the hill isnt that big).

The PR's do do your head in but we found an alternative route (along the beach) into maga to avoid them!

Some good places to eat in magaluf are The Boat Yard and Robinson Crusoes on the front. Very chilled out places to eat and drink at very reasonable prices. Also Florida One and Two do yummy breakfasts. If you like a curry try Los Curries on Palma Nova front- absolutely beautiful.

The nightlife here is superb, a few pubs/clubs to mention are Jokers, Benny Hills, The Green Parrot, BCM and Juniors. And others but too many to mentio!

While you are here you have to do adult pirates! Brilliant night out.

Overall a brilliant resort with plenty to do and the Barcelo Torrenova is a great base to relax and chill through the day!

Majorca is a beautiful island well worth the visit.

The Barcelo torrenova hotel was really good, lovely pool area and clean spacious rooms(take a look at the barcelo website for a virtual tour)The steep hill that people mention isnt that bad, its just a quick steep hill then it evens out!

The pirates show was excellent and good value for money!
Palma nova beach is realy clean with lovely little cafe bars along side it.

Barcelo torrenova is a lovely place to stay; close enough to the action but a good distance to leave the hustle and bustle behind!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Well had a nose at the site today and thought it would be rude not to let you all know about our time there which was one that cannot be forgotton.

We arrived at the hotel around 2 in the morning and headed straight out. Immediately we were a target for all PR'S so do be wary of them. Make sure every pub/bar you go in you get yaself a free drink or shot if they need to fill places out that badly you may get more!!!

BCM is fab but dont book the BCM night with your rep as you'll find its the same price when you get there or with PR's and the exact same deal - 15 euros and all drinks are free!!!!! Also we went a foam party there and could not get a taxi back as they wouldnt let you in wet so either stay dry or face the long and winding road back...!!!
Also if you can fit anything else in your suitcase be sure to pack some fancy dress as there is always something to dress up for like a school disco  night!!

Also more words of wisdom...get ALL YA PICTURES developed out there as you get it done half the time, half the price and twice the quality as at home plus free albums!!! AS well if your pictuires are shocking its nothing they aint seen before so will be less embarassing then getting them done in boots!
We had a sea view room which was fantastic and fab to wake upto in the afternoon!!!

The place to be though is definitely CHAPLINS!!!! They play dodgy games which involves lengthy loo rool gettin attatched from one set of bum cheeks to another and being lighted....all will be revealed once you've been. DJ is also fab there and the atmosphere brill!
Adult Pirate night was fab and theres even a family one so if you dont want the swearing and drunkness involved on the adult you can chill out and enjoy. You get unlimited food and sangria so its great night out and the show itself i couldnt describe in words. Plus the audience can get involved and get up on the stage....FAB!
If you got to BCM make sure you get yaself a ticket from a PR to get some free goodies such as tshirts jackets hats  etc <<<< fab party gear!!

But moving onto...yes you guessed... THE HILL.....
This is no joke you start off walking down it and ya get faster and faster and you feel you need breaks getting to the bottom. But coming up well, another story. You start off staggering and your crawling by the time your at the top. Its like a mountain. i would suggest a taxi or a nice strong chap to help you up!!
Make sure as well you get excess waiver on insurance as you get charged 75 a time to see the doc.

OVERALL THOUGH...we had a FANTASTIC TIME.
Staff were polite as long as we were to them.
Hotel was clean and tidy and thank god for the maids whistling in as we would never have gotton up.
Resort was fab.

For families though I would definitely say go may time as there were plenty of others around and not as many loud and rowdy kids!!

We have just returned from Magaluf and I need to tell you the food at this hotel was the worst we have ever experienced. There was no variation,last nights left overs were put in a suace or casserole and served for lunch and everything was cold. even the things that were supposed to be hot. We spent quite a bit extra money as we had to eat out most nights. Not what you want from an all inclusive holiday!!!

The entetainment was okay during the day and the staff worked hard but the evening shows were poor.

The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly though.

A must for those with older children is Katmandu. It looks like a building upside down. Inside there are all sort of weird and wonderful things. Any Harry Potter fans will love the huge model of Hogwarts made out of matchsticks.

The 2 waterparks are good value and are within walking distance.

I had booked for Palma Nova but was changed the day before departure to Magaluf which I was not happy about. It is definatley not a family resort. The PR staff try to get you into every bar you pass, a tip to get past them is to say you are meeting friends at a bar at the top or bottom of the strip depending on which way you are walking.

we stayed at Marina barracuda with option to use facilities at sister hotel pax. pool area at barracuda is compact and can be noisey, check out pool accessed via 5th floor - much more spacious. sun beds are available at all times of day, only need to get up early(8.30am) if you need a brolley. food is as expected in hotel catering for large amount of people - nothing to complain about, cutlery can be scarce if dining later. activities provided by hotel staff, kids club is very relaxed, kids can join in as and when they choose, activities also provided for adults. rooms can appear small with 4 beds in, but are not too bad, air con helps, check out tv, bbc1 and itv available if you search through the channels.

Hotel is within walking distance of nightlife in Magaluf and therefore does attract groups of younger holiday makers, it's pot luck if your room is next door. We had no problems, but spoke to others who had to contact reception late at night due to noise - security will respond if requested.

over all - a good family holiday.

I had read some horror stories about this hotel so wasn't sure what to expect. We got there quite late at night 02.30 am and the check in was quite straight forward but there was only the 2 of us I had witnessed it when large groups arrived and it was extremely slow. 

The thing that stuck me upon entering the hotel was an overpowering smell of sewage!! this did come and go for the whole week. The hotel was clean and the rooms were cleaned every day, there was lots of choice in the food and it was generally of good standard (puddings were disappointing though) so there would be something for everyone. 

The hotel staff were all really nice and the entertainment team worked really hard day and night they did all sorts shooting, darts, pool, water polo and at night they even put on shows, bingo and a disco for the kids! The hotel was very noisy with stags and hens but I took my earplugs and was not bothered by this but it was a problem for some guests. It was a little distance from the nightlife about a 10 minute walk and the beach wasn't 100mtrs unless of course you were able to fly over buildings!! 

All in all I had a good time here and would recommend it but I wouldn't go back.

We booked this holiday 12 weeks before departure for the Marina Pax.  A few weeks before the holiday we got a letter from the tour operater telling us that we might not get the hotel we asked for.  As we were not told this when we book I think that Marina Hotels have dificulty filling the Baracuda so that is why they have changed there system so that you cannot pick which hotel you go to.  Thats ok if you are told when you book but for us we spent hours deciding on which hotel we wanted to go to , just to be told after we have paid in full that we are not going to that hotel.. 

The Baracuda is the older of the two and does seem to cater for a lot of Hen and Stag partys so beware.  The lounge where the entertainment takes place has a surposed no smoking policy this is not carried out and the room is very smoky afternoons and evening in fact the whole hotel is surposed to be no smoking so any smokers out there this is the hotel for you as they let you smoke anywhere.

Saying all that if you want to be near but not of on top iof the night life this is the Hotel for you.  The Entertainment staff were fantastic so frendly could not fault them the reception staff great, and  food great .  You could use the middle pools as well as the Barracuda pool.  We were near Pirates, Aqua land,

We have just returned from an extremely pleasent holiday that could not be faulted. In a prime area of magaluf, the hotel was very clean, well staffed with a very friendly atmosphere. THe pool area was kept clean and manned by a lifeguard-the bonus was being able to use the facilities of the Marina Pax next door. The food and drink was of good standard all week as was the entertainment. We were never made to queue up for the bar and considering the location of the hotel, there was no rowdiness or noise within the hotel even at the weekend when hen and stag parties were present. The waterparks and pirates were only a short walk away as was the main strip of shops, bars and clubs. 

We were in a party of all ages and all enjoyed our holiday.

We have just returned after a 2 weeks stay at the Barracuda and found it to be very good. We read previous reports and was not sure what to expect going with children. The majority of people there were families, which the entertainment team playing games with day and night. We only saw 2 stag parties but there were not loud or offensive and went out during the evening. The food was ok, plenty of noodles if you like them.
One dowside was the size of the pool and the amount of sunbeds, but use can use the sister hotel next door the pax which is much bigger.

Overall I would recommend this hotel for familes in August.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

5 of us stayed at the Barracuda for the 1st week of August.  We were happy with our holiday.
The rooms were basic but clean, towels were changed everyday. We found the food to be varied each day and the meat was very good quality especially the roast pork.  Snacks through the day were good all the usual hot dogs, rolls etc. they also had pre-prepared sandwiches and baguettes in sealed bags which were ideal for taking to the pool for lunch.

Hotel is situated on a small hill at the end of Magaluf Bay which meant it is away form the hustle bustle of the town but a short walk and your on main strip.  Had a bit of noise some nights but I have stayed at worse.  There were stag parties, a hen party and large groups of lads but we didn't have any trouble from them.  They would stay at the hotel drinkin til about 11.30 then go to the clubs.  

Overall the other guests were well behaved no fighting or trouble.  We were lucky as our rooms were at the end of a corridor so that may have  cut the noise down.  We always used the middle pool it was better than the Barracuda's pool.  The etertainment wasn't the best, they should have charged for the bingo and had cash prizes more people would have played then.  I don't think the alcohol is watered down it's just weaker but we found they gave very generous measures.  The green monkey cocktail was lethal.

It was my 1st time in Magaluf and I was expecting more noise and a bigger resort.  It is very busy on the beach in the day but we could always get sunbeds they are cheaper than mainland spain, 3 euros each and 3 euros for the shade so 9 euros per couple, in Salou, 2004 we paid 8 euros per bed!  

We enjoyed this holiday and I would go back to Magaluf but would maybe stay in a different hotel posibly the Marina Pax, it did seem to be better than the Baracuda.

Just back from the Hotel Marina Baracuda.  Spent a week there with the family and had a good time.  Food was excellent every sitting.  The Hotel is all inclusive and there is plenty of food and drink to choose from.  

The only down side was the pool area within the Barracuda got very busy as it is a small pool for the size of the hotel.  A plus point is you can use the sister hotel the Marina Pax facilities and there are two swimming pools to choose from there.  We spent a week there and the hotel is only a two minute walk from the beach and a ten minute walk to the centre of Magaluf.  Another plus point was you can walk to both waterparks from the hotel which will take you 15/20 minutes therefor you can pay on entry to the park.  The Barracuda also offer a picnic service which is also great if you want to leave the hotel for the day.  

All in all had a good week at a nice 3 star hotel.

definatley a 18 to 18 year olds hotel nothing but noise all night and day ..
blood on stairs every night from fights food and drink all in (joke)one drink a night due to there only being one bar staff on and ques a mile long.
spent an absolute fortune(having 4 kids with us) going out every night.
if you like having no sleep and listening to brawls every night then go here we would not return if it was the last place on earth if you have already booked cancel or good luck

This was the second time two of us had visited this resort and the change that had occured in that year were def not good!
The rooms we were there for 2 weeks and our floor was never cleaned and either was our bathroom!the rooms were very small and we had to ask for the towels to be changed!
The food was terrible i know not to expect great meals in all inclusive but it was so bad that i had to live on crisps or eatin out most days!

The bar and entertainment staff were really nice!the security and night receptioists were very arrogant and cheeky!One night we got home at about 4 and we had a few friends in our room we were not! bein noisy as we were only talkin and this one of our sober nights yet we still got told we were on a final warning! our only warning!!
even tho we didnt have children with us we saw clearly that the staff just seem interested they let older men sit in the baby pool drinking beer all day so that kids couldnt go in!the lifeguard was to busy flirtin with his girlfriend and allowed people to take over the pool with dangerous behaviour meaning children couldnt get the use of it!

We as well as other Scottish people felt that we were bein treated unfairly as us aswell as 2 other groups of people were told to take our Scotland flags down but there was a massive England one above the door and others had them! Neither the Scotland or the England flags were causing any hassel so i dont understand it!!

last of all the bar! you are only allowed 2 drinks at a time per person but the bar staff were given spanish only 3 or 4 drinks at a time! it unfair rules are rules!

Group of 16 women went out on a hen party.  5 out of 8 rooms were robbed.  No forced entry and money had been taken mainly from suitcases bt from anywhere where it was hid,  no credit cards, phones, fags etc were touched.  No help at all from police who just laughed at us snd certainly no help from the hotel!!  8 reports since then from different people.  Another group of people were also done the same night.  The stags were out there the week before and one of their rooms was also done.  Logged with watchdog and awaiting a reply.  It really needs to stop - this cannot continue!!

Went to this hotel on a hen weekend and although the resort of magaluf is excellent with brillant nightlife the same can't be said about this hotel...The food was awful and the hotel security guards and the rest of the staff are a joke!! 5 of the girls out of our group had money taken from their rooms (over a thousand pound) we think they check on the computers to see who has safety depsosit boxes and those who hav'nt they go and have a rake around your room ,one of the guards even walked into my friends room when she was asleep and when she heard the door and saw him she told him to get out and he just went...We reported the theft to reception, the police were called and took statements but that was it.. i know it goes on in other hotels in other resorts but you never expect it to happen to you. If your off on holiday to magaluf you will have a great time just stay away from THIS hotel.

have just come back from a week of pure torture at the barracuda hotel in magaluf.
This hotel have now stopped using tour operators, and advertise on the internet. What used to be a family orientated hotel is now a free for all, including every hen and stag party in magalluf.  the fights, noise, disruption, go on 24/7.
We were all inclusive and spent a fortune going out every night, because we felt threatened sitting in the hotel.  Groups of french and spanish men,fought every night. football chants and fights were common place, and not all these fights were between young lads, these were supposedly mature men.

Whilst the hotel was fairly nice, it was made 1,000 times worse by this carry on.  The rep, when we camplained to her, was hopeless, she offered to move our room, but to where i can't imagine, as the entire hotel was full of hens and stags.entertainment was rubbish..what we could hear of it anyway, over the din of these louts.  They tried to take part in the shows and ruined it for everyone else.  trying to eat a meal in the restaraunt was another nightmare, the noise was deafening. Not to mention that the food was always cold.  

We were under the impression that we could use the marina pax facilities...not so.  the barman actually told us" the rabble from barracuda are not welcome" we could however get a drink from the pool bar, but were not allowed to dine in the hotel..we used the pool in the pax hotel as it wasn't safe to sit at the barracuda pool...we had to dodge flying chairs when the fights started.  and forget trying to get a sun bed.  EIGHT sun beds for a 240 room hotel.  by the end of the week this had gone up to 40 beds...with towels on them from 6a.m. this was the only time the hotel was quiet, so we could at least hope for 2-3 hours sleep before the "fun" started again. 

while we knew the resort is a busy place, we booked this hotel because it was billed as a family and couples hotel.definatley not.  i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.  we are not prudes and enjoy a laugh and a joke with the rest of the world, but this was stretching things a bit far!

Stag party from 11th May to 14th May 2006.

This hotel is excellent if your on a stag or hen party, but not if you old or in a family. 
The drink is water down but it is all inclusive so you can go back to the bar as many times as you like.
The food is good, just don't rush for breakfast if you've been drinking night before, you're not missing much.
Staff are friendly until you make a noise about 4 or 5 in morning, but thats understandable.
Entertainment was excellent, especially the 118 team "got your number" on their stag party and the following night the good looking lad dressed up as a Laydee. suppose I have to say that cos it was me and my mates.

Had a great time and I would definatly recommend it due to my wife to be is on her Hen party there over this May bank holiday, so if anyone sees her say Hi from me.

returned yesterday from hotel Marina Barracuda in Magaluf.On a positive note the hotel was clean and the food was plentiful and had choice, also the staff were helpful and friendly.

The entertainment was practically non existant. Two young people danced with the kids at nightThe hotel was roudy and we did not get any sleep.The british yobs were there swearing and obsene. Alot of the people should have been sent out of the hotel because it spoiled it for most of us.

The staff should call a halt to the excessivre drinking of some of the clientele instead of letting them become legless .
Besides this the beds are rock hard and very uncomfortable. My husband and I have been on all inclusive holidays msny times but would never go there again. Many other people there said the same thing. There were many stag parties and hen parties there but many elderly and families with children. Would not recommend this hotel.
Could not even get a seat outside near the pool most of the time either due to people getting there and putting their things on them even when not there. This was against the policy of the hotel but they did nothing about it. We went there because of good reviews. I find it hard to beleive that it was the same hotel I reviewed

Had a one weeks stay, it's the first time we have been all inclusive, but would highly recommend this hotel,and will definetly return next year.

The hotel is in an ideal position, five mins walk to the beach and five mins to all the main nightlife.

The food was brilliant lots of different dishes that cater for every one, drinks were excellent too.

We ate out at Tom Browns on the beach front, try the steak, and next door is Happy House they do the best breakfast, if like us you are too late for breakfast at the hotel.

All in all an excellent break at an excellent location and hotel, Highly Recommended

just got back after spending one week all inclusive at the Barracuda and we were very impressed with the hotel, apart from the pool (no sun), but we were warned about that so we used next door's pool it gets the sun all day and you can get drinks from the pool bar.
The beach is a five minute walk away,excellent water sports available.
We missed breakfast and ate at "The Happy House" on the beach full english with PG tea for £2.50. Also try Tom browns next door had an excellent evening meal there Steak and all the trimmings for £4.00 watching the sun go down.
The entertainment was a bit naff in the hotel but when the bar closes head to Manos Place, Cocktails are only 4 euros.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definetly return soon.

We came here having booked on the internet and was told it was a family hotel away from the main nightlife.

The Hotel:
We were greeted by friendly reception staff who quickly slapped on a blue hospital wristband so we couldn't escape! and allocated our room.  Room basic but clean, except for the black mould in the bathroom!  One of the beds was uncomfortable and lumpy!.  Main problem was the rooms' location -directly over the pool area which meant that the noise from the bar and pool became a real issue (Generally stopped around 1-2pm but started again as the highclub revellers came back at 5am) and after 4 nights of fractured sleep we asked to move rooms.  We were accomodated well by the staff who appeared to understand the problem.  Second room was quieter, didn't have the mould problem and the beds were a bit better.  Air con good and I suspect this is where the third star comes from because otherwise, not a 3 star hotel.  Only 3 lifts for a hotel this size and one was tempremental.  Good luck to anyone on the 8th floor!

The Food:
Don't expect gourmet food -although there was lots of it.  Menus got recycled so beef came around alot.  Deserts consisted of various coloured 'blobs' and rice pudding (either hot or cold as was also a regular appearer!).
Drinks:
Gassy and limited choice of beer (just the one!) and wine.
Magaluf:
Generally what you'd expect.  No touts this time of year which was good and the weather just about held.  Excellent beach and good fishing.

Overall:
Don't come hear if you want a quiet break as you won't get it!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

This is my first time at Majorca/Magaluf and my parents had visited the Barracudas sister hotel next door the Marina Pax last year and said it was a good Hotel. So when looking for late deal holidays in Magaluf I came across a cheap price for this hotel that was only £690 for two Adults, on a  All Inclusive basis.

I choose Magaluf as it was October and the resort is a busy one there
was better chance of more amenities being open still, so ok here is my review!

Flight and Transfers Etc:
Outbound Flight Birmingham to Parma, Check-In there was a large queue but that was not to much of a problem, Flight and service was very good, Flights to Parma only took 2hr 12m, only problem I had was we was supposed to have in flight meals which we never had (tour operator said they could not remove them when we booked so price went up £20 to £690)
But I will be sorting that today.

Arrival at Airport luggage collection was ok only problem is its a Long Walk to collect your luggage from when you get off the plane, Transfers where fast only 3 stops all close took 25-30 mins.

Inbound Flight Parma to Birmingham, We was delayed in Transfer for 30+ Minutes due to traffic being stopped by police/road block as there was a cycling race on,  Check-Out was fast and was not charged for extra 6 KG of Luggage mind you our outbound luggage was 3 KG over.
Flight was fast 2hr 10 min (no in Flight Meals again), and luggage collection from Birmingham was
fast!

Hotel:
The hotels check in was fast and good service the hotel looked clean and in good condition, rooms where basic but very tidy, had large balcony, safe, good size 20" TV that had 3 English Channels inc BBC1 and 2. There was a kettle with complimentary Tea! but no water or milk, but could get some from hotel.
Bath room was decent size and always cleaned, bath was clean but average size with shower.
The Decor of the hotel was basic but tidy, hotel is very clean, Seating etc in Bar and lounge was not bad and clean, no signs of major
damage or vandalism I.e graffiti on tables etc.

Location:
Hotel faces away from beach so no sea view, there is a good few of picturesque mountings, Marina Pax has beach/sea views.
Beach is not far away you walk out from hotel turn left head towards the Hotel Antillas and there is some steps leading to beach area, takes no more than 5 minutes to get to beach. You are located to the far left of beach but most beach bars etc are around centre which is not even 5 minutes further.

If you walk out of your hotel and to the left a road will take you past the Majorca Beach Hotel this road has shops, restaurants, a little kiddies park area with rides and big bouncing castle, further is a little arcade with kiddies rides etc. From here you will sea a island with the Britannia pub opposite it to the right of that pub is the main bars which to the right always lead to the beach, to the left is more quieter bars etc.

Pool:
The pool is not as small as some say, I have seen much smaller, I do agree that in main season or with 7+ people in it can get cramped, therefore is good for a splash/little swim, but not going to give compare to swimming baths full size pools!
Pool was very clean and kept that way there was always a life guard on duty until 6pm, There was a terrace for sunloungers that was not that big, but did have enough sunloungers, Only Problem was the location of the pool being on side of the hotel that never got much sun, maybe from, 2:30 onwards.
However you can use the Marina Pax Pool and a Pool in-between both hotels called the middle pool, where the daytime activities where centred around, both those pools where larger about 2-3 times than the Barracuda Pool and had life guards to, and was also clean, both with children's swimming pools as does the Barracuda Pool.

Restaurants:
The Restaurant was of decant size and whilst not the most visually splendid, it was clean and staff was busy and excellent, food choice varied from day to day, and was a good choice, and food quality ranged from above average to very good, but that may be down to my palette, I have heard that in main seasons there is even more choice and Themed Nights, All meals where buffet with good choice of veg and fruit, meat choice was good, however it would have been nice to have had chicken breast every night and not just every 3 nights but there was roast chicken every 2 days, the other was beef.

Snacks you had usual chips, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, Burgers etc and fresh sandwiches, between 10:30 and 6:30 only problem is they had to be taken in the restaurant, however people could take out sandwiches.

You could not eat in the sister hotels Restaurant but you could use its outside snack bar where chips etc where cooked fresh and not already made kept heated as the barracudas was (they did throw away and replace food every 1-2 hours though)

Bars:
The Bar was clean and basic not bad but not like 5 star, it had good number of chairs and tables and quite a few sofas. Drinks where served in plastic cups, not cheap disposable but strong cups, these where small cups about 30cl, but they never really effected quality of drink, and as this hotels is a family one is good for kids I.e no broken class to cause injury, of used in dangerous manor by drunken youths I.e thrown etc, there was no Drunken youths however, but plastic cups are good safety measure in case there was. Drink was not watered down you could see them open new bottles of spirits etc when one ran out! They did use cheaper local spirits I.e not proper malibu etc, but tasted just as good, only exception is Martini as I am a Martini Drinker the cheap version just like our cheap versions does not taste nowhere near as nice, but then again I am a Martini Drinker so I am used to the quality original. The Cola,Sprite and Fanta are all the real deal.

You can also drink at any of the Marina Pax Bars there outside Bar and the Middle Pool Bar.

Entertainment:
Every night they had entertainment and also daytime activities such as shooting, pool, darts, quizzes etc. You could find out what was on offer and at what times on the weekly wall chart in the bar!
The Entertainment team where very friendly and gave 100% ok there shows where not the greatest as they mainly danced and mimed to various shows, such as Broadway Grease etc, however although they lacked actual singing to the shows, the costumes where good and they did put 100% into it, kids where kept happy which brings me to the kiddies disco, which got a bit repetitive as it was the same sing along and dance to the same songs for 30 mins every night! but hey kids loved it! and staff was great with kids!
They also have and quizzes bingo etc all free. One good thing is they have Entertainment shows from outside Entertainers every 2 days these included a Hypnotist, Magician, and a Contortion, Acrobatics Knife throwing ect called Revolution, these act where all great the Hypnotist was very funny he had a Irish/Spanish accent the Revolution show was great a must see, (wow the assistant had a body to die for!)
The good thing was if you missed a show then it would also be shown at the Marina Pax next door on another night, so if you missed the magician on Wednesday you could see him at the Pax on Friday etc.

The Guests:
We had nor real problems with guests they all behaved, yes there was some groups of lads etc and a few Hen parties, who sometimes had a laugh but there was no excessive bad language or behaviour, and no vandalism night time skinny dipping etc, those on the lower levels that are above the pool area which lead to bar will find some noise until 12pm ish, due to location of bar etc but it gets quieter after that. We heard some noise at night when people came back including families but again was just talking and laughing, not very loud or bad behaviour.

The Resort:
The Resort is a busy one it was ok when we went but I guess it can be very busy, there is a good selection of Shops, Bars, and Restaurants which are calm during the day, and more bustier during the night, From the hotel once you reach a island with the Britannia Bar opposite it there are two roads the one to the right of the Britannia Bar consists of the lively bars, clubs. The Left road has the more calmer bars and restaurants. to be honest we only went up the strip twice on the night, and yes there was a number of reps with blue bibs on trying to get you to come into bars etc but they was not that pushy at all (Go to Turkey or Bulgaria if you want to see pushy) they would offer you cheap deals and free drinks, which are free shots (that in many did seem maybe watered down, as was not that strong).
As always its best to ask them what offers they do before you order, and even barter by saying no I am off to a place up the road that's cheaper say 4 Euros for 2 Mixers, and they may match the price of offer another free Shot etc.

Prices:
Prices would vary from place to place it a good idea to shop about,
you may find 1 item say shirt that's 5.50 Euros in one shop but only 4.25 in another, as it was coming to end of season there was some better offers about, same applies for drinks some bars to beer at 2E many offer 1.5E or 2 for 3E etc always shop around during day at beer prices and ask inside what prices are like on night, eg happy hour times and offers, so you know where to go on night and can then ignore the reps etc, With Restaurants again prices can vary one restaurant may do Chicken Breast with salad chips for 9.50E others 7.50E whether you get larger portions or nor I don't know, but just shop about.

Beer: 1.40E to 2E Local Beer (3 for 5E 2 for 3E etc)
Mixers vodka&cola malibu&cola etc: 2E to 3E (2 for 4E 2 for 5E etc)
Shots double: 2E to 3E (2 for 3E 3 for 5E etc)
Alcipops: 3E to 4E (2 for 5 E 2 for 6.50E etc)
Vodka Redbul: 3-4E or 5E(Pint) (2 for 6E or 2 Pint for 7E)
Beer International: 2E to 3E (2 for 4E 2 for 5E etc)
Cocktails: 4-6E (2 for 5-6E 1 litre for 6E etc)
Breakfast Full English: 2.55E to 4.50E Mega Size
Meals Day time Snacks: 4E to 7E
Main Meals: 5E to 12E depends on dish I,e T Bone etc.
3 Course Meal: 10E-15E

Many restaurants off free drink with evening meals.

Beach:
Quite long, and very clean yellow/white sand with tiny tiny, shingle and shells very soft to walk on and power mix sugar consitsantsy.
Sea is clear turquoise which becomes darker the further out!
There is a good supply of sports of offer sun loungers etc are 2.50E, but you can buy a inflatable for 4-6E and use that.
Watch out for those selling Drinks and Fruit with fruit make sure you ask and agree on price first use fingers and wait for them to nod yes, make sure you have change! someone near me paid 3E for a huge
slice of Melon yet some women was trying to sell small slice of pineapple for 5E, cokes seemed to be 4E and beer too, always be careful, have change, agree price first, but best is to say no thanks or nod, as shops and bars are not far and can then get can pop for much less 1.5 E ect. Some beach sellers do try to but food in your mouth so be careful, Remember you are not obliged to buy and if the demand money say you will go to see police about it, they will leave you then!

I have heard the Pirates is a must, the Fantasia golf and Western Water Park are good for families, again prices are 10-15% cheaper than from your rep, BCM is a large night club 20E open 10pm to 6am includes all drinks all night, they have themed nights like foam parties popcorn parties, wet T-shirts and Strip shows, if you get in early before 12pm you get various free gifts from Hats/Caps/Bandanas T-Shirts, Towels, Beach Towels, glow sticks flashy badges etc sometime gifts would cost 10-15+E from shops.

Overall I think the Hotel was very good, well worth the price, its not the best AI hotel I stayed in but then again it does class itself as 3 Star, which I would say it deserves, the Hotel/Bar Decor is good 3 Star, Food Service again very good for 3 Star, Entertainment is no 4-5 Star but good.
And Service was 4 Star, (any problems like overflowing toilet urinals etc where fixed within 15 mins). Any one who says this does not deserve 3 Stars or says is 2 Star should stay at 2 star or at least 3 other 3 Stars first, there are some 4 stars that lack the features and quality of this hotel therefore I would say the combined complex Pax and Barracuda is a 3 Star+, I would recommend it to any one to try just once!
You can book direct from 36E a night £25 including you AI food, Drink
Beat that for Value ok you have to get flights £70-£80 return or from £25 each way (on way back flights was advertised at Airport for under £20)
Then Transfers  £20 each way Taxi 20 mins. Rep did say that direct booking can cause you to be overbooked and you would have no rep to fight for you, but someone I spoke to had no problems before. So I guess Rep would say that just as they try to tell you why to book trips with them!

Resort has something for couples, Families and 18-30s, I cant say if
resort would be unsuitable in main season, due to stag nights etc become a more rowdy resort as I have not been in main season but October was fine. Weather was ok 25-30C did rain for 2 days but that was on and off unlike the none stop rain I got when I got home :(

I enjoyed my stay and will be going to magaluf again in may where I may try the Marina Pax hotel directly.

Just arrived back from here with friends really good hotel in good location and not on top of all night life.
Hotel was very clean and plenty going on within the hotel
Was all inclusive and there was a wide choice of food and drink
all staff were nice and would do anything to help you.
rooms always kept tidy
nothing could have spolit hotel all was fine.
would reccommend all inclusive to anyone going to magalluf as some drinks are expensive.

this was our second trip to Mallorca, but our first all inclusive holiday, and would definately recommend it!

The hotel was in a great location away from the noise of all the clubs on the strip but within easy walking distance, and the beach was two minutes away.

the hotel was clean, we had clean towels and sheets every day, the maids were friendly and pleasant. the food was brilliant it was a difficult choice deciding what to eat, and i might add that i am a fussy vegetarian, but there was still loads to choose from! the bar and bar staff were great very generous with the alcohol! they certainly do not measure the shots.

the pool area was quite small and there were very few sunbeds, but the sister hotel next door (Marina Pax) more than made up for this with its 2 pools and a plentiful supply of sunbeds, guests could also use the pool bar at the Pax as part of their all inclusive deal.

overall a great holiday we would definately go back.

Having read reports about it being an 18-30 hotel, was a bit concerned! 

Booked this as a last minute holiday it was cheap and we got cheap. It is mostly 18 onwards groups of male and female - hens and stag parties. Noisey on a night about 4 in the morning with banging "let me in" language is not suitable for children!! Pool and sun terrace too small for the hotel, if you are not out there at 8 in the morning, forget it, you wont get a bed. Food was good and plenty, staff did their best and were very friendly and kind, but people being sick on corridors and lifts not always cleaned up straight away; lifts don't always work, if you didn't get stuck in the lift you were one of the exceptional few. Its a long walk up to the 6, 7 and 8th floor. Air conditioning was excellent and a necessity at night.

Some holiday makers arrived while we were there having booked through teletext to find there was no accommodation at the hotel for them and were found alternative accommodation so be careful you may not be staying there!! Would not go back there as it is just not our type of holiday.

Arrived at the hotel barracuda to be greeted by very friendly and efficent staff. Rooms basic, and compact but very clean and excellent room service everyday, with clean bedding and towels as required. Air con in rooms, very pleasent, a must in August!! The hotel was spotlessly clean with an army of staff who ensured that everything was kept that way.

Our first time all inclusive, and we were not disapointed, the kids got their monies worth just in soft drinks and ice-lollies!! Lots to choose from in the resturant, plenty of fresh food brought out throughout the mealtimes, always found something to enjoy! Lots of british favourites available every mealtime.

Entertainment O.K,in fairness the entertainment team worked really hard, and the kids loved the daytime activities!
The biggest let down for this hotel was the pool area, with only around 30 sunbeds, for a hotel with over 120 rooms, you can imagine the queue for the sunbeds in the morning!! We wouldn't book this hotel again because of this.

we all loved this hotel,untill it was bed time every single night got woke up by groups of lads coming back in from the nightclubs would not recomend going here in high season.Food in hotel was brilliant there is that much to choose from only trouble is u get fed up of eating so much.wasnt to keen on drinks in hotel they were to gassey.hotel is lovely and clean couldnt fault it.all staff are all helpfull and polite and speak good english.would recomend to anybody to go here but just not in high season.one thing u should do while u r in magaluf is visit the pirate show it is brillint .

Just back from the Barracuda Marina, we had 11 nights there and it was fantastic!

The hotel is excellent value.  Food is amazing, there is sooo much choice and the quality is excellent.  We ate so much that we are all on strict diets now!

The pool at the hotel is fine although to get a sunbed you would have to be up early in the morning, we used the pool at the sister hotel the Marina Pax next door some days, it was really nice, and they have a poolside bar where you can get your all-inclusive drinks too.

The entertainers for the kids were excellent - especially Esther, she worked really hard.  There was always plenty of entertainment going on day and evening.  The bar staff were also very good.

The room was clean and tidy with air conditioning which was a great as it was roasting hot weather outside......the shower was brilliant too.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone, we all had a tremendous holiday and hope to go back next year.

 If you are going to book this hotel as a family, please think about it after you have read this review. This hotel has been turned into a 18-30 type club with large groups of young lads and girls who are deteremined to do what the hell they like especially the boys while on holiday. 

I wont go much into the other aspects of the hotel as they are fairly accurate on other posts on this site and I will tell you what we encountered while at the Barracuda in July 05, which if you are a family with kids of mixed ages you will want to know. 

Ok here are some of the antics we endured from the "Lads".... Drinking games, try to drown each other games, walk about the corridor naked games, dive naked into the pool and then run around the holiday makers " for a laugh"  games, have s*x in the pool at 11am games, stand on the balcony drunk & naked and shout at passerbys @ 6am games, run riot shouting at all hours games, create as much noise at all times, especially at night games, are you getting the idea! loud music, drunkenness, rowdy laddish behaviour,... so beware you will not get a good nights sleep, if you get a room next to some of the "lads & lasses"  as the walls are paper thin. 

Before I get some negative response from this post as not all the young people were wild, I want to say, if you are young you will probably love it here, but I went with my grandchildren, and was assured this was a great "family" hotel, sadly it was nothing like it. when we were there, there was probably a 60%/ 40% split to young people, out of 280 rooms! thats a lot of clubbers. Please use this post as guide to what you might encounter at the Barracuda Marina!!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Got home a few days ago and I have to say that this is a fantastic hotel. Being 4 lads all going on our first holiday together, we were keen to be close to the action, and that is exactly what we got in the Barracuda.

Situation:

The hotel is just far enough from the main strip (a 5-10 minute walk) meaning that you can sleep without shouting stuff going on outside your balcony. Some reviews on here have criticised the hill leading upto the hotel but in our opinions it was nothing to worry about whatsoever; we managed to stumble up it with no trouble every night (morning!) and there were also plenty of old folks in the hotel, some of whom had walking sticks etc and who didn't seem to have a problem. The staff on reception were very helpful and spoke excellent English.

Food:

Fantastic. Being 4 growing lads we were looking for an all inclusive basis so that if we ran out of or lost money going out we still had the assurance of regular food and drink. I would definitely recommend that other groups of young people especially look at it this way, as we would regularly tuck into things like steak, BBQ ribs and full english breakfasts only to go out and listen to other people around the town talking about how they had been living 3 pot noodles a day! The bar and restaurant staff were brilliant - friendly and efficient..and VERY hard-working. I don't think we ever waited for more than about 1 min at the bar for a drink, even at night time. The beer was a bit watered down and the strength of some of the vodka etc left a little to be desired but it's what you would expect from an all-inclusive really and wasn't a big problem.

Entertainment:

The night time entertainment wasn't great, but good. We didn't experience alot of it but we did see a hypnotist, a Tina Turner tribute act and a 'Grease' cabaret show from the entertainment team. Just the usual package holiday kind of thing really. Bingo was played every night. The bar was open til midnight.

In terms of daytime activities, these ranged from rifle shooting to water polo. Obviously the success of these depend on the amount of participation and thus I'd recommend that you volunteer! The entertainments team were friendly and enthusiastic.

Other activities for hire include Table Tennis (?3 deposit) and Tennis (?20). Additionally there is a pool table and games machines.

In terms of sunbeds, we did find that the sunbeds around the pool at the Barracuda seemed to go quite quickly, but if you nip round the corner to the Pax (ask at reception for directions as we didnt find it until about 3 days in) this is much bigger and there were always sunbeds available.

The Room:

The room was very nice. As we were in a 4, we had two twin rooms next to each other, which was certainly a bonus. Each room featured two (comfortable) single beds, a sofa, a TV (with BBC1, BBC2, Eurosport etc), a balcony and A/C. Here's a tip: the Air Con works only works when your card is in the slot and the balcony doors are shut, but we found that if you put a credit card in the slot when you're out it activates the A/C and thus you can return to a nice cold room. The bathroom was clean and spacious. It was perfect really - basic but no complaints.

Bar and Clubs/Days Out:

Lots of good bars and clubs in Magaluf. Try to avoid being forced into anything by pushy PR people; we got conned a few times..for instance at Panama Jack's we were told "if you lads come in and buy 4 drinks you'll get a free shot each" only for us to go in and buy our drinks separately and be told we needed to buy all the drinks at the same order. We found that, although hard, if you completely ignore the salespeople then they get the message, whereas if you show any interest whatsoever then they won't let go of you. We were physically grabbed several times.

Obviously BCM is good for all you dance music fans out there..it was e23 entrance but you get lots of free gifts and it is 'all-you-can-drink' (however, don't be fooled; the beer is seriously watered down, given in glasses which are smaller than half pints and on busy nights we were known to be waiting for upto 20 mins at the bar). Try to go to the foam party; it's certainly an experience!

We enjoyed going to the Britannina pub on the roundabout. The lads behind the bar are friendly and chatty and it is a place where you can get a quality beer; probably a little more expensive than some of the other bars but if you get sick of drinking 'pints' which are really just fizzy wazz, it's the place to be.

Also, if you go onto the main strip and look for Alex's bar, there are 2 parts to it. One was an indie bar with music from Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Libertines etc and across the road there is the R'n'B bar which plays Usher etc. The indie bar is cracking and a welcome change from the cheesy, 'oomph oomph oomph' of the Europop.

We went to the Western Water Park rather than it's neighbour, Aqualand and it was a brilliant day out - I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. It's worth going if only to see if you have the bottle to tackle the dreaded yellow slide!!

Overall, brilliant holiday. Would definitely recommend to people of all ages and travelling in groups of varying size.

Have just returned from a week at the Barracuda.  Hotel was excellent with very freindly staff without exception.  Arrived at 11.15pm and check in was very speedy and effecient.  Food was excellent with good variety and entertainment was almost certainly the best we have seen in AI hotels.  

Only downside was although know that Magaluf is a lively resort did not manage to get much sleep whilst we were there.  Were constanly wakened through the night with groups coming back to hotel shouting, banging doors etc.  We will go back to this hotel but probably a bit more out of season when there might not be as many stag/hen nights.  

Would definitely recommend to young people during peak months, but if you like to sleep during the night don't go then.

Our first parent free holiday and annies first holiday abroad and it was amazin! the hotel was great the staff were so friendly and made us laugh!i didnt like the food much but my friend found it nice! close to the clubs n pubs but not to close to be bothered by the noise,Lifts brokedown almost everyday but it gives u a little exercise runnin up n down the stairs! the pool bit small n loud but the sister hotels pool was larger n not so noisy.
 
We had a great holiday prob best two weeks ever had we loved the hotel so much we have booked up to go back again in June 2006!!! Here we come!!

Holidayed here as a last minute deal, went to check the reviews of the hotel b4 i booked it and it was a mixed reaction but mostly good reviews.  

On arriving the hotel doesnt have the name outside so we went inside and had to ask reception if we were in the right hotel, check in very fast and friendly, i emailed the hotel personally after booking with alpha rooms and asked for a sea view (which u can jst catch a glimpse of) and a high rise room, they have 8 or 9 floors i think, we wer on floor 5 and i also asked for rooms nxt door to each other as we had 2 teenagers with us, this was all provided on arrival, so my email was received and they dealt with it perfectly, 10 out of 10.  

The staff are excellent and so friendly, there is a free fone in ur room to buzz from room to room, ours didnt work so theres 1 on reception which u can use free too, i had to use this most mornings to wake the lads up 4 breakfast. handy too if u go downstairs and have forgotten something, buzz the room and get the kids or ur partmer to bring it, saves a trip back up... especially since the lifts are almost always broken every day. 

The restaurant is lovely and clean and the food is very good, breakfsats are english bacon, sausage and blackpudding, snacks at lunch and then dinner, after dinner finishes at 9.00 or 9.30 it is, there is no more food but there is plenty of takeaways nearby. My only complaint i'd say is the pool, its tiny 4 the size of the hotel i do believe there is a better 1 nxt door at the sister hotel the Pax which u can use, we didnt bother.... if theyre putting towels on the beds at our pool at 8.30am the u'd have no chance going nxt door 2 get a good bed, they were queuing up at 8.20am 2 reserve their beds, we preferred the beach which is only a 2 min walk away down some steps behind the hotel antillas which is to the right as u leave the barracuda. U cannot access the pax anymore from floor 5 in the barracuda which u used to, u can use their pool and get drinks 4rm the bar, but u cant eat the food at the pax if ur all inclusive at the barracuda. 

If ur after a quiet holiday! 4get this hotel in the height of season, it was full of stag n hen parties, no problems from them, they wer just out having fun but bearing in mind magaluf dont close down until 6am in the morning YOU DO get the noise of the revellers coming home to the hotel between the hrs of 2am and 6am, apparantantly shouting banging doors!!!! i didnt hear this, i go away 2 have fun aswell so most nights i went to bed with a drink in me so i slept... 1 nite i dint drink and i did hear them come home and it was a bit noisy, so either go out of season or make sure u have a few nite caps b4 bed

The beach at magaluf is gorgeous, we spent most days there as the pool was full of gangs making the most of the free bar and stag n hens partying together playing drunken roudy games, fair play to them, but i preferred something a little more peaceful in the day... i made sandwiches at breakfast to take to the beach and the lads filled an empty bottle up with drinks 2 take, DO NOT!!!!! buy 4rm the beach sellers selling fruit n drinks they rip u off, they make a beeline for groups of girls or lads and offer a free sample of melon... DO NOT take that free sample or consider the melon sold!!!! they charged 2 young girls 20 euros for just 2 slices of melon, the police do look out 4 them but theyre bak in 10mins, just ignore them and dont even look at them and always, always ask first how much!!!!

If u do fancy a drink or a bite to eat on the beach go to Tom Browns resaurant, its very cheap and they do the best coffee in the whole of magaluf, they have a very good menu and just walking past and seeing how busy it is tells u they are reasonable, lovely breakfast 2....

4 a really good nite out go to the green parrott just at the bottom of the road near the mini roundabout, the DJ called DJ Gobshite is fantastic a bit rude and crude but excellent.

We booked independantly through alpha rooms and searched 4 cheap flights, there are plenty of taxis at the airport and we paid 35euros to our hotel although im told that they put extra on the fare if theres more than 2 of u and we had 4 so i dont know till we go bak in sep if its any cheaper 4 just 2 passengers it cost 35euros bak 2 the airport so all in for the transfers was 70euros around 45/50 quid.... still cheaper than coach transfers which if booked at the last minute can charge u up to £50 each and a taxi is much quicker and less hassle.

There is a courtesy room if u have a l8 flight, they provide a room 4 showering and clean towels so no need to pay the extra to keep ur room on, i think it was either 35 or 45euros but that is only till 6pm so a waste of time if u have a real l8 flight, 60euro 4 the whole night, a lot of money when u can shower free and kip on the setees in reception or the tv room, theres enough of them 4 every 1.

If your going soon i hope my review has helped and u have an excellent holiday, i would go bak 2 this hotel but out of season...    Have Fun.

We had a great time at the Barracuda 16 of us went the youngest was 6 and the eldest was 64.The staff were very friendly and spoke quite good english.

Entertainment staff (Paulina,Jonathan,Ester and staphanie) were great with both the kids and adults during the day and the nights.Ryan our rep was great too.The rooms were ok nothing special tv that didn't work for the whole 2 weeks air con that didn't work a kettle that did work but the best thing in the room was the shower.

The food was great most of the time.The kids loved the pool there was a life guard every day .Outside the hotel is a small shop where you can get english newspapers bottled water,ect. A short walk down the road and there is every type of shop you will need including a chemist.

We all meet some great people at the Barracuda who helped make this holiday the best ever.

Bril holiday. Food excellent, just too much of it!!! Staff friendly if you are polite, some people were rude, staff then get annoyed.entertainment typical hotel stuff, mini disco , bingo,a show we had a flamenco, river dance, hypnotist,parrot show,comedian etc , then they end up with party dances/disco, not bad.

Main gripe tho, air con, was supposed to be working ,was advertised, but we arrived 35degrees, no a.c.!We complained politely & a fan was put in our room, later a cleaner came & gave us a 2nd fan, although not the same ,was better than nothing. So if you arrive & this happens to you its worth asking.
You also get a better spot for pool use by the shared pool in between thesister hotel,the pax marina, next door, so you have the choice of 3 pools really, but the 2 main pools get very busy.
Short stroll to the beach, but if you have little ones , lots of steps down.

Would go back again, would recomend to anyone especially families.

Having read all reviews on this site, we decided that the Barracuda sounded like a good choice for our All Inclusive holiday to Magaluff.

When we arrived the hotel seemed to be pretty good, good location outside away from the main strip, but close enough to walk to the major bars.

The check in process was fast, and easy. so we went to our rooms, when we arrived there was a TV in the rooms, we thought GREAT! we can watch the TV. but none of the TVs we had were tuned in, we complained and it tooka week to get them tuned in.

The pool area was good, and was impossible for the kids to escape without having to go back into the hotel.

The evening entertainment wasn't to our liking, but we wasn't expecting much. infact we spent most nights in the bars watching the football! or just walking around the shops till they were all closed.

The dining room was clean, but the food itself left a LOT to be desired, isn't wasn't anywhere near as good as the reviews from last year said it would be, infact the last night we'd had enough and went to the steak house (just down from the BCM) and had the best T-Bone steak I've ever had from anywhere in Spain.

Overall we're all very disapointed in the hotel, the holiday was good, but the hotel was the bad part.

We had never been All inclusive before but we were a bit skint so we decided to try it  - love Magaluf been thousands of times and this hotel is ok.  Its a bit old fashioned but very clean and comfortable, nice staff and the food was excellent.  The all inclusive is typical for somewere like Majorca in plastic glasses and only 2 drinks allowed per order per person and I`m sure theres hardly any alcohol in them!!! But it did for what we wanted a quick relaxing break good entertainment if don`t fancy going into magaluf lots of families but that didnt bother us as out most nights 

overall a good hotel.

This hotel is perfect for all ages but be aware that this is Magaluf and a lot of the 'younger' guests return to the hotel when BCM closes around 6am! We stayed in rooms 708 and 709. There are 8 floors and this was ideal for us.We were never kept awake, infact we met a number of the party people and they are all out to just have fun!
The hotel staff are second to none, the food is faultless, and the drinks are as you expect on holiday.

The pool area was sufficient but I would imagine it gets very busy in high season and you would be forced to use the sister hotel - Pax. That is no bad thing. It makes a pleasant change.
For those not partying, hire a car. Park at the back of the hotel, level 5. We ventured out into the wild and came across some really nice places. Valdermossa being one, very traditonal and an enjoyable day.

The men played golf on 3 occasions, Santa Ponsa was not in the best condition but the most expensive. They rated Son Termes as the best they have played on the island. It is not easy to find though.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would recommend and return to this hotel.

Having had the best holiday ever here last year ,we looked forward to our holidayvery much.Unfortunately,it was not to be-the entertainment budget had obviously been slashed as the brilliant stuff we saw last year was not repeated,instaed we saw mediocre acts not much better than the kids school concerts! The wonderful gala dinners of last year had also all but disappeared and by the end of the fortnight we had resorted to eating out.

We were told that the rooms would be air conitioned but again we were disappointed, unless a small fan in the room passes for aircon in magaluf!Last year we returned and booked up immediatly to go back,sadly we won't be going back unless they can recapture the atmosphere etc of 2003.

Hotel was fab, Food was fab most of the time although in 14 days we hd Roast Beef probably 5 times!! I know were English but come on!

Never used pool in the Barracuda always went to the Pax next door. You need to go to the 5th floor in lift to get there as most of the hotel never knew. Very difficult to get beds some mornings people would put towels down at 8am & not come down to pool till 3pm, so we just took beds anyway & towles went on floor, people also saved beds for there 3 kids whom never used beds all day, so adults would have to use floor.
Lots of very rude Italians there whom seemed to want to start trouble with the English & had very bad attitude problems, but they weren't all like that.

Hotel could get a bit noisy at night but nothing too much, security usually quietened things down, but after all the free booze all day I'm sure most were passing out at night.

BCM is great value, but the reps on the main strip were a nightmare even with a young child they would follow you down the street harrassing you to go into a club in the end you just have to be rude to them. The Red Lion had no Vodka in their drinks. I had two so called Vodka & Oranges & a free shot & was as sober as a judge when I left!!!!
Ask for courtesy room to get changed in if you have a night flight home, we only found this out by asking reception for some clean towels to use in public showers.

Would definatly go here again, there was a rumour that A/C was being fitted this winter. The hotel needs it some evenings you could barely breath it was so stuffy especially the landings leading to the rooms.
My son loved it here aswell & the fact that there was a lifeguard at the pool means to can relax a bit more aswell.

THIS hotel is in a quite part of magaluf on a hill weather was great ,this was the second time at this hotel . the entertainment was ok. but daytime entertainment wants looking at, the reps cabaret is an excuse for a good drink,dont go. The pool at this hotel is badly positioned ,but the other hotel[pax] is better. I got a ear infection at our pool .NOISE from pool drifs up to the sleeping quarters above, try to get your room on other side, hotel food was good, beer was week. 

would not come back again.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Just returned back from the Hotel Barracuda after having a great week there.  Food is out of this world (onion rings and chips for breakfast - heaven), staff extremely helpful and friendly.  Life guard at the pool, which is very comforting with the children and security guards all day and night.  Hotel very clean, and just out of the way of the nightlife of Magaluf.  It was a bit of a problem getting sunbeds - we only managed one day out of the seven.  You have to be on the ball, as the regulars are queing up waiting for the doors to open to the pool at 8.00 am.  

All in all, we had a great holiday and would definately go back.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We booked the Accomodation and Flights separately (A first)and we was extremely pleased with the results.

We couldn't fault the Barracuda, it had everything we wanted!

Plenty of lovely Snap(Food)always plenty of choice for everyone and Theme Nights ranging from English to Spanish, we spent about 3 hours a day in the Dining Room - We all had to diet when we came home! A good choice for the children too, they enjoyed being able to choose from thier own Childrens Buffet. The hotel also provides Picnic boxes for Days trips, which are packed with fruit, rolls, cheese and meat. Toasted Sandwiches are also available until about 5ish, so you never go hungry.

The Entertainment (Johnny and Stephanie) was Brill, Theme nights like Grease (which my daughter Beth loved!) and the Childrens Disco which adults would also get up and boogie too!

Bingo-bingo-bongo which was the Barracuda's version of Bingo which we Won! (Tee-shirt and Vino!)

The drinks (plenty of choice) were available until Midnight which was fine as we had two youngsters with us, try the cocktails we loved them!

We used both the Barracuda Pool the one between the Barracuda and the Pax (sister hotel) which had more sunbeds The kids loved the plentiful supply of free drinks and ice creams and so did the adults!!

The only niggle we had was the Air Condioning which hadn't been completed when we were there, so as there was 4 in our room it got rather stuffy at night! Hopefully they will be installing Air Con in the Winter for 2005.

All in all we all had a Brilliant Holiday and will definately be returning in 2005.

The hotel was fab. The free flowing drink was great and the food was great too and although I missed breakfast nearly every day for 2 weeks I was still able to cure my hangover with snax served all afternoon! Although me and my friend are young and love the lively atmosphere of the strip we wanted somewhere resonably quiet and away from it all during the day and we got just that here in the Barracuda... although kids jumpin on your head in the pool when your hungover was not the best! Used the Pax pool as there was much more space on the terrace! Staff were good and rep was cool (Martin) 

All in all loved the holiday and hotel and the all inclusive was well worth it and I would do it again next year!

Just returned from the Barracuda Marina and I have to say it was a fantastic hotel. 

On arrival the reception area was clean and bright and the staff were fantastic. The rooms are perfectly adequate although the promised air-con has not materialised this year. However there are 2 main things about this hotel which stand out - the food and the staff. The staff will do anything to help you, booking a hire car, organising a picnic if you are away for the day and generally doing whatever it takes. Secondly the food was fantastic. Fabulous selection every mealtime with some themed nights - the gala night was almost unbelievable with the most impressive display of food I have ever seen!

One or 2 pointers however, although there is nothing to tell you - you can use all the facilities at the Marina Pax next door and there is a shared pool in between the hotels which effectively gives you a choice of 3 pools. Useful because the Barracudas is quite small and the sunbed brigade seem to be up before dawn! You can use all the all inclusive facilities at both hotels. Also the hotel is on a hill and a bit of a walk from Magaluf centre if you are maybe not so fit.

But apart from that a fantastic hotel to be well recommended.

Hotel is nice, rooms are big and spacious, 2 beds couch bed and cot and still lots of space. Pool area always full early, with people putting towels on beds 8am and not using them until 2pm, which is annoying. Staff in restaurant are excellent especially with our little girl, getting high chair and putting her in, and making a fussy non eating little girl eat her dinner which was great! 2 minute walk 2 beach up little hill then down about 40 steps, which also has a ramp for the pram which was great. 10 min walk opposite way down hill is all your shops. 

Entertainment staff were also great just a shame our little girl was a bit young to take part. The food is excellent, even for very fussy eaters like my husband is as on previous all inclusive he always says he will never go another 1 again as food is cr*p, he never had 1 complaint all holiday and the majority of the time went up 4 seconds. Chef out every night serving a special dish up were most of time was cooked in front of you, or carved in front of you and he always served it to you, also very friendly. 

Would definetely book this hotel again, just hope they get air conditioning soon as it was hot during night

What can I say about a holiday that was perfect in every way, suiting 17 of us between the ages of 4 and 77, well for a start the staff were friendly, Travel city from start to finish of booking holiday were excellent (thanks for the lilo's which were enjoyed by all) food was great(3 veggies in our party..they said choice  was the best ever encountered on an all inc holiday) beer was good too! rooms and pool areas nice and clean. Very good value for money.
WE WOULD BOOK THIS HOTEL AGAIN

Hotel Barracuda is perfect for everyone, very clean, very friendly and above all the food is 5 star, unbelievable value. The bar is open all day every day and also has ice creams which the kids loved. Even though we were in Magaluf the hotel is situated far enough away from the night life so you are not disturbed however if that is what you are looking for it is only a ten minute walk.

On the beach there are plenty of water sports to keep you entertained and it is only 2 mins from the hotel. Go to the Pirates adventure a must for everyonr and the wesyern Water Park is superb. Book these through your rep, our tour operator got us first class seats in pirates and one free chils place at the water park. Martin our rep from Travel City was first rate and because of him and the service on the Barracuda we have booked again for 2005. 

HIGHLY recommended try it you will like it/

fantatic holiday!!
HOTEL: hotel was slapbang in the middle of the strip, everything you could possibly want in walking distance! your ontop of some of the bars such as chaplins and tokio joes so a bit noisy at night but if your tierd youll sleep!! all hotel staff r friednly, they have an extorcionate price list if you brake anything, prices are skyhigh so b careful!!

POOL AREA: was grand, seen bigger paddlingpools than the pool but was a good laugh! small bar at the reception area, stocks beer n sum crisps but thats bout it! no air conditioning, need t hire a fan, u have to cos its so hot u cant sleep!! your right across the road from the beach, really nice beach plently of space to sunbathe!

FOOD: if your going to eat i would reccomend robinson crusoes just across the road n down the steps, amzing brittish food, n bagettes n stuff if your only wantn summat light, plenty of supermarkets near by too. fabulous holiday!!
1 more thing if your a smoker, buy your fags in the town (26 euros) cos there twice the price at the airport (64 euros)!!

What a holiday. The best holiday ever!! if you want to go on a girlie/lads holiday this is the place to go - ITS JUST MENTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coco apartments are fab! right on the strip - you walk out of ya front door on you are on ya on it!
the night clubs are ace aswell, Bananas was our fave we was there every night its just full of people buzzin like mad heads. but the other clubs are top aswell!! make sure you get pssed in a few bars 1st tho as the drinks are quite expensive in there!
i would definatly recommend magalluf to anybody who want a mental, funfilled holidays! we have just booked again to go next year!

Not suitable for workers but good for tourists, very small and basic but has huge bathroom, nice view of the strip and loadsa mirrors!
good pool area and bar.
best location as yopur right on the strip and opisate the beach.
if u know magaluf, the coco apts are right opisate the bora bora beach bar, tokiojoes, up the street from bcm first floor, kfc and bananas etc.
bit noisy but we love it.
magaluf best in its season in july!

This hotel is sound for end of Sept, had a brill time no complaints wouldn't recomend it for kids though!  we all went for a 40th Birthday celebration and left the kids at home, they would have been dissapointed with hotel, but hey it is Magaluf kids are far and few between there anyway! Tasted food once and filled a hole!! booked not expecting to eat and drink in anyway. 

All in all had a great 3 nights and just going to book to back again in Sept.  One thing I will say we oldies liked the fact that the hotel was about 7mins away from the real night life so it was easy to sleep.

I stayed at the don juan hotel Magaluf in spetember 2006 and i found the hotel rooms below adverage. The food was appauling and under temperature and i would not give the food to a dog, it's more then likely to give them dihorrea. We spent alot of money eating out at different pubs and resturant, our favourite resturant of them all was Tom Browns the food was hot and nice not like the food in the hotel. 

We returned back to the hotel a few evenings of the week and found the security guard asleep in the office not doing his job properley. We reported a leek in the bathroom coming from the bath which absolutely soaked the bathroom floor. Nobody came it was reported around two days after we got there. On the friday of our holiday we sat in our room in the afternoon when a drunken man somehow was handed a key from reception and got into our room thinking it was his. If we had not of been their anything could of been stolen out of our room or he could of fallen asleep on one of the beds and vomited on all our things. 

The rep from Med Hotels was no help to us at all and we hardly ever saw him. We were their for four days before we even knew we had a rep i would not advise anybody to go to this hotel as the staff are rude and they don't want to know anything. I have sent a letter of complain to co-op travel care complaining about the hotel i have stayed in to be passed foward to Med Hotels. The worst hotel we have ever been in since twenty five years i have been travelling abroad.

Stayed at Don Juan in June 2006 and after looking at previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised.  The food was very good, good selection, the rooms were clean and tidy.  The staff were very nice especially Sylvia who was always helpful.  We would definately come back during the months of June or September but will leave July and August for the younger holidaymakers.  

Had a brilliant time and if you get the chance go to the Alexandra bar, on the strip and see "Hooched" a two piece rock and indie band you will be in for a good nite they are superb!

Dont get me wrong the resort is great lots to do and very friendly people but the hotel DON JUAN is very very poor.

Now when u r in the hotel it looks great and the pool is ok but the amount of people who complained to change rooms or even get a transfer to a different hotel was over thirty when we was there.i am putting in a bad report of this hotel because we had our money stolen out of our >>>>>>>SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX<<<<<<< on the first day. we tried telling the staff but they wouldnt listen and we spent 1 whole day in a police station just because they said they couldent do anything even when we asked them to ring the police they said they couldent because it was sunday!!!!! 

if you are young this hotel is not for you there was too many people complaining about noise, i mean come on u r in magaluf. we got told the hotel had a sea front view when actually it was about a ten minute walk to the nearest beach and about a twenty minute walk to the main strip in magaluf.it is out of the way of anything, the hotel receptionists and staff r very stubborn and do not want to help anyone whatever happens.

i do not reccomend ANYONE to go here as it will spoil your holiday like it did mine and u might just end up with no money like we did with no help from anyone.please for your own sake do not even consider it. JAY, LEIGH (don juan hater)

where do i start...wot a holiday! resort is absolutely amazing the nitelife is class and the holiday reps are even better!

we were in magaluf for 2 weeks and it wasn't long enough! be prepared for no sleep..lots of alcohol and the vodka throat (too much vodka and by the 4th day we could hardly talk and were coughing up all sorts)
the don juan hotel is alrite..the foods ok...we ate in it every nite so you don't go hungry and the guard 'john' is alrite if you get on the right side of him which we did! its true he doesn't let boys up to your room but we managed! i think we made his nite most nites...getting caught swimming in the pool...falling asleep in the lifts and bringing r own drink to the bar! (i think he liked the blonde hair)

the reps Paul and Anouska were amazing...they truly made our holiday one to remember! get your MVP cards which get you on the booze cruise, pirates, and into all the clubs free wotever time and a trip to western world!
But you cant loose it.I did cos I got distracted kissing the rep! However..1 of the guys in r group went home on the third day cos he had a hangover so I was able to use his! Not mentioning any names (TY).lol.I think the whole of magaluf heard that story by the end of the holiday!

The booze cruise is great.even better if your not hungover! There is free drink..mite as well just be pure vodka! Western park is good fun.at 6 o'clock the public leave and u get the park to yourself for two hours, then free food, drink and drinking games! Of course we volunteered every time to snog sum randomer and get licked all over by some minger!

Pirates was amazing.absolutely hilarious nite.. and yet again more free drink!
Check out ICON, FUNKY MONKEYS.we didn't go to BCM, we heard that too many Spanish go to it and eye you up and grope you so that put us off! HED KENDI at BANANAS was great! Also went to see Kelly LORENA which was absolutely brilliant! Also THE LOCAL which is across the car park from don juan.does an amazing Sunday lunch.and is good for a drink before you hit the strip.

Some of the PR's are absolutely gorgeous so you don't mind going in and getting a free cocktail just for them lol!
You have to do the SLING SHOT..scariest thing ever but soo exciting! Plus you get a t-shirt and video of you doing it! Also checked out the BCM Square on our last nite..the hypnotist was great..one of the our guys got hypnotised and it was absolutely hilarious!
Gonna go look at my pictures now.I could cry.I wish I was still there!!!! Definitely be back in SHAGALUF! (definitely true to its name)

Went to Magaluf for 2 weeks in August and had a brilliant time. 

The hotel was basic we had quite a small room with only 2 beds in and a bathroom.There was no air conditioning as i was advised when booking it but rooms where quite cool, and you could hire fans. The pool area is not that big but it doesnt seem to get that packed as alot go to the beach which is just round the corner.its about 20 mins walk from the main strip so quiet on a nite time. There is a variety of food to choose from. The nite securtity guard is quite strict about music late at nite as families in hotel. He does let you have lads back to your room but he tests them 1st so if they pass the test there allowed in. if you go visit pirates its a good nite. 

had a great time in magaluf going back next year but not to this hotel. you need alot of spending money aswell.

the hotel was absolutley CR*P. there were big black security guards spying on us everynight, we got done for making noise even though we weren't as noisey as our neighbours and other groups. met some great people though, thats excluding the staff they were rude and ignorant. the food well if u like dog food u would be fine their. they were veal every night that wasn't even cooked and the fish still had the eyes and bones in them. we went for the entertainment on the last night and sat there for two hours whilst they played sclub 7 and much more cheesey songs. WE NEARLY FELL A SLEEP. talk about being stupid they had radiators in the rooms and they was just enough room for 3 people.
the clubs were fantastic especially BCM and recommend the foam party. pirates uncut is fantasticand a great laugh. the only problem is the pr's who harrass you and feel u up and drag u into bars. they don't take no for an answer. we would recommend magaluf and would go back but not to DON JUAN.

This hotel made our holiday at the end of the day! First impressions were it aint the best hotel on the planet but if you are young and going to magalluf for a good time this hotel is a good place to stay. We had a great time here. The rooms are clean and there are cleaners everyday who clean the room to a good standard. 

The food aint the best if you like chips you'll be sorted! The pool is small but it does the job and there are always sun loungers around the pool. I admit this hotel is madness and is not suitable for families in peak season as there is loadsa young people staying here. Before i went i did not want to stay in this hotel i was dreading it, but like i said before it is a good place to stay if you are young and going to magalluf for a good time. I'd go back for definite we had the time of our lives here. 

It is not the best hotel ever no but it does its job.

Magaluf in its self is a lively, happy place, as for the hotel Don Juan it was an absolute nightmare.

The rooms were dirty there was graffiti on the balcony the food was unbareable and the staff were not much help if you had a problem. The pool area was nice but very cramped, the lounge was nice and air-conditioned but the rooms had no air-conditioning so we rented a fan and that wasn't much help we had no hot water for 2days. It is a very noisy hotel and it is hard to get to sleep on a night with the load music playing at 8am. 

Also we had a gang of lads next to our room and they was forever looking over their balcony into ours. The security was just ludicrus as there was a few people who had had there rooms broken into and i saw 2 lots of people leaving the hotel to go somewhere else and i wanted to go with them. I do not reccomend this hotel at all it is a cheap made hostal and is not worth the money.

Before going i read all the reviews of this hotel and as there was a group of 8 lads (17-20) going on this holiday i thought this hotel would suit us down to the ground, however the hotel was awfull.

Upon arrival at 2 in the morning we were greeted by a security guard with a grudge who seemingly had a quota of incident report forms to fill out each night and we seemed to see a fair share of them.

The rooms were not as described in the brochure, they were crampt and such added bonuses as a tv with the plug ripped off the lead. The balconies are just about big enough for a beach towel to dry on.

At this point i do not want you to think that magaluf wasnt an enjoyable destination for a group of 8 lads the nightlife is absolutly amazing, beach is wonderful and there are brilliant people to meet it is just that my grudge was with an awful hotel.

Upon arrival to our hotel on the second evening the roof in my bathroom had decided to fall down a problem whicvh we reported and was eventually fixed on the penultimate day of our stay.

My next moan was the food, there is not alot of choice you have sausage and beans for breakfast which we religiously shunned in place of a visit to a local bar called Dreams which was great, in the evening you had a choice of chips, veal or chicken after sampling the meet again we decided to eat out.

The last but most important issue i had with the hotel was the complete lack of security, we met a group of girls who had 1700euros and all there phones taken from them, this is concerning enough but even more concerning considering all the doors were locked at the time and there was no signs of a forced entry, our conclusion was an inside job, this feeling was confounded when we spoke to a lad we met who claims 400euros were stolen from his safe. This is not the signs of a safe secure hotel.

A few other points were:

Hotel seemed very unclean dirt we noticed on the first day was still there on our last day.

Reception staff were rude and when people staed that money had been stolen from them they just pointed at a disclaimer and carried on with their work.

I do not want this review to put anyone off from taking a holiday in magaluf, i cant put it into words how good it is, just make sure you ignore the Hotel Don Juan as possible accomadation, I dont want anybody to endure the same problems we had.

Where can i start for the hotel don juan ,a week from hell , the food ,i wouldnt give to a dog ,the hotel was full of people with no respect for anyone if id stayed longer i would have been locked up for assault ,4am -7am every night constant noise ,if you want a good holiday dont go to this hotel ,the staff are not bothered what goes on ,we ended up eating at the lady tavern about 10 mins walk near to subway ,and drank at the best pub in the area the oak which is situated in palma nova about 15 mins walk near to the rear entrance of sol magalluf park.

we stayed at the hotel don juan in june and all we can say is it should be classed as a hotel for 18s to 30 only it was full of young people who had no respect for other people we had no sleep for two weeks due to music blaring shouting swearing from 4am till 7am every day we complained to the hotel staff but they did not want to know we made numerous complaints but all to no avail 

we found glass in the childrens pool two young children were cut nothing was done about it the rooms were we retuned back to the hotel up to much wall lights with no shades on bare wires coming from the lights we waited four days for a bulb to be put into a light cobwebs on the ceiling 

the food was disguisting and if you had children it was tough there was nothing suitable for young children to eat the front of the hotel had toilet rolls lillos empty beer cans bottles thrown over the balconies we came back to the hotel after a night out to be insulted by a gang of lads leaning over the balcony they threw wet toilet roll at us we went to get the security guards who told us they couldnt speak english and for us to report it the next day the back of the hotel had chairs tables clothes bottles etc etc thrown from the balconies during our stay 

three rooms were broken into and numerous money stolen six rooms were vandalised the police were called two families left the hotel and went to stay somewhere else they couldnt take anymore on the day of our departure four couples were going home to put in complaints 

we could not wait to come home and we will never ever stay at the don juan again

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

This hotel is definitely not for families with young children or older couples looking for a relaxing holiday! We stayed for 1 week and probably got about an hours sleep every night. Music continuing until 7 o’clock in the morning and drunken people knocking on doors and screaming in corridors is just a taster. Whilst we were there tables and chairs were being thrown over the balcony along with rolls of toilet paper.

The hotel itself has central heating and no air conditioning that we found rather strange. Having no air conditioning was terrible. We often found that when the noise did stop we were unable to sleep because of the heat. There was also no fridge to keep things cold in which made things even worse. 

The food on an evening was absolutely disgusting, about four hot plates consisting of fried pork, pasta, chicken and gravy. The chicken itself looked like it had been lying there for two days. We ended up eating out every night; great Chinese up by the square though would definitely recommend it. The breakfast wasn’t too bad though cereal, toast, bacon, beans etc and doughnuts if you like them on a morning! 

The pool however wasn’t bad at all, plenty of sun beds and still some left at 12 in the afternoon. The staff were also very friendly and speak good English. 

Overall the hotel didn’t spoil our holiday, Magaluf is a great resort and we will definitely be going back (even if it’s just to get the freebies from BCM) just a pity cos with better facilities and less noise the hotel would have been fab!

Accomodation-
Rooms looked scruffy and tired, graffitti written inside bedside table draws. Paint peeling off the walls.
Hotel extemely noisy during the early hours - due to people returning from night clubs ( between 5 & 6 in the morning). Could hear every noise - including conversations, between rooms and floors.

Facilities-
Pool area limited, no shade. Pool quite small.

Food-
First night the food was absolutely disgusting, however it did improve and was actually quite nice by the end of the week.

Cleanliness-
The rooms were cleaned daily and towels could be changed when ever you wanted.

Staff-
Reception staff very helpful, though we had to complain about the noise from the room above us on two occasion-with very little result.

Resort-
Fine if your on a stag or hen party, alot of very young, very drunk people.
The beach is very nice and clean, but don't buy drinks from the sellers on the beach-they charge anything from 5 to 15 euros for a small bottle of water that can be bought from the nearby supermarket for 1 euro. Don't be tempted by the scratchcard people they tell you you've won a free holiday but its a con!!!!

Holiday overall-
Beach good, resort definitely for 18-30 type holidayers!!

we went for 7 days to the don juan (weds - weds).we were a bit scared of the reports we had read on the net,BUT it was the total opposite.

the hotel was very clean with friendly staff.the entertainment was excellant (especially for the kids)u gotta meet esther for the kids,silvia for the adults there a real good laugh.

the food was awesome.so much choice & variety,& the waiters/waitresses are very friendly.

the reps were on hand all day & sorted any problems very quickly (even though we had none).

simply DON`T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ about this hotel we had a super time & will book again if not this year definately next year.

this hotel is under rated it should be a 4 star.great value for the money you spend..

We all went to don juan hotel Magaluf in february for a winter break and a few beers.We was a little aprehensive about what we had read about this hotel but when we got there,we were all plesantly suprised.The hotel was clean and all staff friendly,the bar man Berto was a great bloke.

The hotel was full of spanish pensioners so all the entertainment was tailored to suit them,witch is uderstandable.anyway we only had a few drinks in hotel in evenings we headed up town witch is very quiet in feb.I must mention,while we was there lunch and dinner was served with free wine as much as you wanted,ive never had that anywere before.The meals that we had we could not fault,loads of choice and tasted fine.so all in all we was very pleased.

HI all,
After reading all the reviews on the net before i went on holiday i was thinking what have i let myself in for. But then i thought what the hell it can't be as bad as people make out. Was i wrong it was BAD!! the hotel was really close to the pubs n clubs etc but the actual hotel don juan was terrible. the food don't even get me started on it was awful  don't get me wrong if u like veal and chicken that looked like it had been there days then u would love it. 

The hotel receptionist ween't very helpful at all! they also didn't speak very good english.Our room that we stayed in was also really bad the tv did not work the lights were falling off the wall and there was cement missing of the walls. the shower was too powerful in hurt u. The pubs are brilliant go to the green parrot it's fab and the dj's are ace!.

hotel don juan don hole dont bother waist of money no staff speak english some bar staff are nice though the  rooms have no air conditioning and are small but badly decorated there is always glass in the pool for kids to cut their feet and everyone p1ssing in it 

the food is horrible and re heated it is like fawlty towers the staff are ignorant and if you complain about your room been robbed they give you abuse.

Hi.  My hubby and I stayed at the Don Juan for 4 days commencing 10th Oct. 2004.  To say we were concerned about the hotel prior to flying, is an understatement, having read some of the reviews on it.

I am pleased to say we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.  No, the hotel isn't brand new, but when you work out the low cost of the accommodation, you certainly get more than you pay for.  I think if they gave the corridors a lick of paint, the place would be uplifted, however, we have no complaints whatsoever.

We found the food fine.  If you didn't fancy the hot meals, you could fill up on the salads, cakes, ice creams, fruit, etc..... you certainly would not starve.

The beach is only a few minutes away.  Did anyone notice that 'crazy' gent, who stood clapping and shouting approx four times a day, before waddling down to the sea for his dip?  What a cracker, but he gave everyone a laugh, and succeeded in getting everyone's attention!!!

We found a great Irish Bar, Mrs. Dibley's(?).  Great guy on from 10.30 until approx 1pm (with no break)!  Great atmosphere, and this really made our holiday. (Not at all sure I have the name of the bar correct, but hubby gone to bed - will put right later if wrong)!!

The beach is absolutely lovely.  Weather was brill, so we came back with lovely tans - would think we had been for 2 weeks and not 4 days!!

Please, please, don't take any notice of the bad reviews.  No, perhaps it is not the Ritz, but it is excellent value for the money you pay.  We have certainly paid a lot more on other hols, and accommodation not nearly as good. 

I might add that we certainly would not wish to be there in July/August, but out of season was brill, and we would certainly go again. 

We booked the holiday ourselves over the internet.  Booked flight with Easy Jet, then booked the hotel.  Would certainly do it again.  Only difference is you get no tickets (just need to print a copy of confirmation from comp), and you don't get luggage labels.  We bought a sandwich and drink at the airport for the flight, as you don't get a meal on board.  We think we saved about £70 booking it ourselves!

Well, sorry if I have bored you all, but I was dying to get home to have my say, as we really were worried before we went.

Hi again!  Sorry, but I knew that Irish Bar didn't sound right....... it was Mrs. Doyle's - somewhere near Magaluf Park Hotel, and just up from the large Chinese Restaurant on corner, with three large white menus, giving choice of any three combinations - very nice - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, on the one night we ate out.

A good place for a snack (and a laugh) at lunchtime is Pueto Rico snack bar down at the beach, (second one along on main promenade down from hotel).  The banter from the two waiters is brill, especially the 'little tubby one'!

Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

The reports I had seen on the site had put me of going to the Don juan but me and my wife arrived fearing the worst,however things turned out quite the opposite,we didnt see any rats in the pool or anywhere else, the hotel was very clean as was the bedroom.The maid cleaned every day,new towels after the third day.The entertainment was not to our taste a bit childish perhaps,the food was edible but not to much selection for british taste ie boiled potatoes and sliced meat and vegetables 

The resort has a great mix for all ages with good value in the shops and restaurants

The first thing i would like to say about this hotel is - DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ! Before we went i had read so many bad reports about this hotel i thought my holiday was going to be a disaster. Luckily i was proved wrong. We had a lovely time at the Don Juan.

Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. Maids were friendly and changed towels/sheets regularly. The only bad thing was the lask of air conditioning. For our first week we just left the doors open, but by the second we gave in and hired a fan. It wasn't expensive and was much better. Once the doors were closed we hardly heard any noise at night.

The food was fine too. Homemade soup everynight, a fantastic salad selection, pleanty of choice for the main meal, various deserts and piles of fresh fruit. Breakfast wasn't as impressive, but onlt because the sausages and bacon weren't british.

Lovely pool area, pleanty of sun beds. pool itself very clean. we could see the cleaner from our balcony washing everything down morning and evening.

Reception staff fine, polite  and speak good english. We didnt really have a problem at this hotal at all.

Magaluf itself is FANTASTIC!! I will definitely be going back again. Drinks are much cheaper in the bars, rather than the hotels. The Green Parrot bar is hilarious, Mano's place is good, and just across from the hotel is Dreams, its not brilliant but very good value. BCM nightclub is definitely worth at least one visit, so is pirates. We thought Pirates seemed a bit expensive, but after going we realised it was worth every bit we paid, its excellent!

Have just arrived back from a great holiday with my Mum, Dad and my three daughters.

Was a bit worried as I had been told the hotel was full of noisy young people who were on a Club 18 - 30 holiday but can honestly say that this did not seem to be the case.  In fact, there seemed to be more families with young children like myself.  Made some good friends from all over the place.

Hotel was a bit grotty but rooms were clean, although very basic and maids came every day to make beds and leave clean towels.  Pool area was a bit small but very clean although you had to be up very early each day to get a bed.

Staff there were excellent especially the girls that entertained the kids. Had something on for the kids nearly all day and also mini dicso and bingo at night.

Food was quite good too.  Had quite a good variety.

Overall had a great holiday and would not hesitate to go back.

To start Magaluf is an Excellent resort. Plenty of things to do for all ages. Especially for the younger madder holiday makers. 

We had a great time the choices of pubs and clubs were amazin' and the staff were always up for a laugh. Recommend are the BCM and Bananas. Bananas is great for a bounce playing all the dance and trance favourites that get ye dancin' roon yer handbag. BCM Is excellent value for about 20 euro you get your entry to the club and a few others and a free bar not to mention the top DJ appearances and excellent music. 

Magaluf beach is gorgeous and so is the beach at Palma Nova which is about 10 -15 min walk away. Excellent frozen cocktails can be bought from the wee beach bar Daiquiri Palace at Magaluf beach. Don't really know what to do during the day as most days were spent nursing hangovers but what a way to do it. Lying in the baking sun on Magaluf beach watching people fall off banana boats with a frozen cocktail in my hand - superrbb!! 

As for PRs and stuff play along with them there just doin' their job plus if you get a free drink out it what the hell. Most of them are up for a laugh and give you good tips on where to go if your new to Magaluf. 

As for the accommodation Don Juan was pleasant enough I suppose. Food was ok but nothing special and drinks were reasonably priced. Most staff were great a wee guy (who cant remember his name) worked at the bar at the pool was always pleasant and friendly. Also the woman who worked by the pool was a good laff. I must say that because there was no fridge or air conditioning we did find it a bit uncomfortable. Trying to catch some shut eye during the day or nursing a hangover with warm water to quench your thirst was torture. Also three girls all trying to get ready with hairdryers on the go and allsorts was pretty annoying. Once you'd finished getting ready for a night out you were so warm again you felt you needed another shower. 

One day there was a bit of bad weather - not that we minded it didn't interfere with our pans at all but as the wind was blowing our bathroom ceiling kept moving as if it was breathing which kind of freaked us out thinking it was going to cave in but it turned out ok in the end. 

One thing that really annoyed me was the interference of the guy at reception at night time (think he was a night watchman or something). We had our music on at a reasonable level for a party zone such as Magaluf and the guy just walked straight into our room no chapping or nothing. Me and my friends were on the balcony at the time and got a fright when we seen him in our room trying to take our CD player. At first I though it was a looky looky guy and got a bit anxious but it turned out he worked for the hotel. He got a good mouthful from us anyhoo as we knew he had no right to walk into our room and we complained to our rep the day after.  After that he kept watch at our floor which was really annoying and creepy. 

Regardless of these flaws we had an amazing time and will return one day (not to Don Juan). Definitely recommend this resort to anyone. We met people there of all ages who would agree. Don't be put off by it reputation as being a bit sleazy or by its nick name - its just hear say, just some peoples opinions but at the end of the day its what you make of it and what you go for that's important. It's a beautiful resort with such a large variety of things to do for everyone.

This Hotel was great for Groups of people, I went with my 20 yr old boyfriend but felt Magaluf was not the place for us, One thing that will annoy everybody is the "PR's" - These are people who try to get you in the clubs & bars etc, They will not take No for an answer, We found ourself snapping at them by the end of the holiday, 

Other than that Magaluf was Great, Lovely Beach, Friendly People, The accommodation was Great, Very Basic but the rooms were cleaned everyday and clean towels were given each day, The Pool was clean at all times & the food was lovely - a very good choice. 

I would recommend 'Pirates', It's expensive but worth the money! - This is a 2 minute walk from Don Juan! We went to the Aqua Park & it was a great day out! Also Watch out for people who try to sell Fruit & Drinks on the Beach, it is illegal & they rip you off - A woman had to pay 15 Euros for 3 small pieces on Melon! Anyway, 

Hope this reviews helps alot, I would def recommend this Hotel to anybody

I've just arrived back from Magalluf after a week away with my boyfriend, Hi Jez, i had read the reviews on the Don Juan, and i was abit scared at what to expect, but it wasn't at all what i expected,

 i was quite surprised how clean the place was, as you walk in you can see nice shiney marbled floors, the rooms where decent enough for what we wanted, only down side was there was no Air Con, but, who spends all day in a hotel room anyways?!, the pool was lovely and clean. The bar area was open all day and night! the Lifts seem as though they might breakdown any second, but luckily they didnt. The food wasn't very nice, we ate 3 times there in the 1 week we stayed, but went out for meals! I ate the hot food, i'm sure the salad was nice! The weather was fantastic!

I wouldnt recommend this hotel, or resort for couples or families with young children! its more for single people, a lot of noise at 5.30 in the morning, not good to hear babies cry at this time. About a 2 minute walk to the beach, very nice beach it is! Don't wear heals, lots of hills, no dress codes for the clubs so the ladies can wear flip flops!

Dont believe what every one else has said, find out for yourself!

This was my first time going to magaluf and after reading the reviews was fealing a bit worried, but trust me dont believe all the bad reviews! i can honestly say i had an amazing holiday and i wil def be back next year!

The rooms were clean and the maids were in every day! The staff were very nice and helpfull and were always around the pool talking to everyone and trying to push everyone in the pool! the entertainment wasnt good for good for kids but there was a little disco! there was bingo every nite which me and my 10 palls went to every nite i must say which was a laugh!

the beach was 5 min away and there was a mcdonalds 5 min away to which was handy. there were also a few bars across from the hotel, we went to a place called the local every nite before we went to all the big clubs. the drinks were a good price and the music was really good.

pirates is a must if u go which is across the road from the don juan, free drink all nite and the booze cruise was a good laugh, a recommend that for the younger pep!

i am considering going back to the the don juan next year cause i had such a good time!

I read the reviews about this hotel before i went and thought no it cant be that bad, it is terrible,the rooms are dirty huge balls of fluff under the beds,the food was absolutely apalling we chose to eat out most days even though we had payed for half board.

The pool area was shocking the pool was so full of debris and leaves you could not swim in it and worst of all the local rats seemed to like to swim in there too as well as vist the bar and dining area i was on the fourth floor and watched them most mornings.

I had read about someone else experiencing there room been broken in to and on the third night we were there we watched someone trying to break in to the first floor bedrooms we went down to reception to report this and the attitude from reception was,so what do you want me to do about it.

The hotel is right on the edge of the resort so it is quite a walk to the beach and main attractions of magalluf.I would advise all to steer clear of this hotel it is utterley appalling.Do visit the green parrot bar in magalluf the dj there is very entertaining and it is a truly british bar.

Iv just returned form the hotel Don Juan and have read the reviews from people that went there and i disagree with what most people have said about it. im 15 and was happy of don juan, it was basic but your not going to  stop in your room ALL day was you. for the money you paid what did you expect. 

i thought the staff was very friendly and willing to help with any problems. the food was a wide range in the morning and evening. there was a wide range of ages there, couples, teenagers and yougsters. after dinner when the entertainment started it was the mini disco and it WAS the same every night with one of the staff dressing up as a clown i think the kids got a bit board of it though as only about 3 kids came up 2 dance and do the songs. 

after that it was bingo. and then there was a show like one night it was the 3 members of staff dressing up as differnt stars in 45 mins and did 85 songs it was VERY funny. another night was men vs women which was funny all the way threw as one of the male staff thought he was a big head and the men would win but they didnt and ended up being pushed in the pool lol. 

there wasnt much 2 do in the daytime accept go by the pool if you wanted 2 just stop in and the staff organised things 2 do for children and adults like swimming contests. we stayed there for a week but every day we went out either on the bus or walked around the streets there is alot of shops there but most of them sell the same items so be carefull and watch out for cheeper prices. 

the beach was 5mins walk and was very clean. if you choose the bus 2 travel any where it was cheap around 1.10pp to palma nova or 2.20pp to palma. but be warned the buses can get very cramped depending on the bus drivers and you may have 2 stand for a long time. i would recomend going to marine land it was bril for the money you pay.

i hope thhis review would change any bodies mind about not going because of the other reviews i would recomend going  to Don Juan its good for the money you pay and it is not noisy at night only if you have you balconey doors open.

Don Juan is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. It was full of Spanish - some were extremely rude to the English, the food was disgusting, i had ants in my room, the lifts kept breaking down and when it rained, the roof above the bar was leaking!!
I would recommend Magaluf as it has something for all age groups, but - i would not recommend Don Juan.

WE ARRIVED A DON JUAN EARLY HOURS OF THE MORMING AND WERE GREETED WITH A FRIENDLY MEMBER OF STAFF WHO WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP.
THE ACCOMODATION WAS VERY CLEAN AND TIDY BUT THE ROOMS WERE VERY SMALL.
THE HOTEL ITSELF WAS VERY CLEAN AND THERE WAS LOTS OF THINGS GOING ON THROW OUT THE DAY IE; WATERPOLO FOOTBALL AND MANY OTHER ACTIVITIES.
I WOULD DEFINATLY GO BACK TOMMOROW IF I HAD THE CHANCE YOU COULD NOT HAVE PICKED A BETTER LOCATION IT JUST ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF MAGALUFF ABOUT A 10 MIN WALK INTO THE CENTRE WHERE ITS ALL HAPPENING.

Hotel wasn't the best but could of been worse

We found the rooms fine, not that we were in them much, five days out of the seven stayed in some random lads room, but hey thats what holidays are all about.

Maids came regularly and seemed pleasnt enough, however receptionist was VERY ignorant.

The food isn't the best,but you can just about manage to force it down and all the free drink you can handle makes up for it!!!Plus the measures of vodka are triple i think...well they felt like it to me!

Round the pool entertainment isnt upto much, but then what more do you want when your dying from a banging hangover!
Night time entertainment is ok, very funny if your aged between 18-30 as can be a bit naughty haha.

I wouldnt advise families or older couples to stay at this hotel as can be a lot of naked activity when everyone is rolling in around 5/6 0'clock. I myself was being chased around the hotel by two naked boys!

Loads of pubs and clubs to go to on a night, we especially liked jokers- for a bit of karoke and bananas- bit like wigan pier..BRILLIANT!! As for BCM i wouldnt waste your 20euros, it is full of pervs! Theres about ten lads to one girl, although it may sound good it isnt!  You need your wits about you to survive the night in there!!

All in all is fantastic place to go for young people who just want a great time and plenty of girl and boy holiday action!!!

dont listen to the reports!!! we went in a gruop of 12 ages 14 - 43 n had a great time hotel was clean food was good and staff were very friendly the rooms were cleaned everyday and there was clena towels everyday.
entertainment was fairly good and the night life outside of the hotel was fantastic advise the youngs ones to go 2 BCM for a great night out well if use r goin hope use have a great holidya like we did.

absoultly love magaluf have been for last two years with my sister.stayed in don monolo last yr and don jaun year before.
will be returning to don manolo shortly.western water park is the best fit life gaurds.also loved pirates.
we take local bus to palma only cost about 2 euros.nightlife is brill loads of sexy men expesally prs lol.
loved the water party at bcms and car wash.
dreams i sa cheap bar for cheecky vimto.cafe near to dreams does a great full english if u dont get up in time for hotels brecky.
theres loads to do in magaulf!

where shall i start. the only positive thing me and my group could think of about this hotel is the location near the strip.

the staff are completly arrogant i didnt see one smile from any of them or even anything remotely polite towards any of the guests.the food is nasty and exactly the same every day. the drink is bearable if you are just warming up for when you go out clubbing. the rooms were fine in size, the beds were really uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. the little extra bed is actually more comfortable than the two proper beds even though it brakes if you sit on it. the water in the taps runs brown for about 10 seconds when you first turn it on. the doors slam so hard if the balcony door is open they could seriously hurt someone. the pool area is tiny and there is no sunlight on it so the pool is freezing. and im pretty sure that pool has never had a drop of chlourine in it.

one night three groups got chucked out of the hotel for talking across a balcony which was two rooms away, when questioning why, the manager gave one of the lads a backhander across the face. on the same night another lad was also slapped by the security guard.

magaluf is a great area and i really loved the nightlife but i would never go back to this hotel again. i would not recomend this hotel for families with young kids due to the youths coming home in the early hours.

As a couple, on a birthday celebration we went Magaluf. Not reading the reviews beforehand it was booked, then I got a shock and started to panic coz of the reviews. 

First and foremost, don't go with a narrow mind, a holiday is what YOU make it. Expecting the worst it wasn't at all that bad. Very basic. Lift doesn't really work- u have to stand on the edges otherwise it calculates the weight wrong and doesn't move with even 3 ppl. FOOD- same old buffet everyday. Had an Italian section (pizza Pasta). Large salad n cheese salads, meat of all sorts but I lived on chips (undercooked often) and gravy! (but I am fussy.) Not much to do in hotel, entertainment bingo at 9 then a poor excuse of a show later. Only stayed there once, booze was poor quality. The PR on the 10min strip walk away are VERY pushy and in your face. Tell them to off basically. We were making excuses like we had no money and dodging them it got that bad LOL! 

The season was low so there were mainly couples but groups started to drift in towards our 5 day stay. That was enuf as theres not much to do at all. We'd done it all in 2days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND PIRATE SHOW, just round the corner literally. Adult show was amazing. "dinner show" is hot dog and wedges with unltd sangria. Get there early as the Q was neverending. Fits around 1000 ppl in so dnt worry. Overall expensive and didn't really enjoy the nightlife as was too in ur face. Went with a fake tan, that rubbed off, slightly red shoulders, went on sunbed wen came home! Nuff sed! X

Myself and 5 friends have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Hotel Don Manolo in Magaluf. At first glance the hotel appears dated but generally clean and tidy. Our rooms were a bit stale smelling but after all we didn't plan to spend alot of time in them. 

The food and snacks were most definately not of a 3* standard, and relied upon tourists wanting to eat burgers, chips and some wilted salad 3 or 4 times a day! Breakfast was OK but still not 3*. After the first night, we checked what was on offer and ate out - eating out is cheap in magaluf anyway!
Although we weren't expecting anything too posh, we did expect clean rooms - One visitor didn't seem to mind the food though(he was of a good size!!) unfortunately he was the cockroach we found in our shower!
I would definately not recommend this hotel to families, the walls are thin and the noise goes on til the early hours, and some of the clientele make visits from the police inevitable!
The reception staff were pleasant, and helped us to hire fans, book taxis, safety deposit boxes etc.
The pool was also good - and we never had any trouble find a seat or a sunbed!

Magaluf was good, especially as a young group of friends looking to celebrate imminent 21st birthdays!

Arrived at Palma airport about 11pm and got our luggage. We then went outside and got a taxi to the hotel which took about 20mins and cost us 35Euro's.

HOTEL ROOMS

After we checked in we looked at our room on the 7th floor which was basic to say the very least. The room was very small consisting of two beds, a desk , a bathroom with a shower and a balcony which was more like a window ledge! There wasn't much room but this didn't bother us much as we weren't planning on spending much time in there.

4 of our mates had arrived at the hotel earlier and they had much larger rooms than us as they were on the other side of the hotel overlooking the pool - (book early in order to make sure you get a room on this side of the hotel!)

HOTEL LOCATION

The hotel is located perfectly, just across the road from Pirates (although we didn't go) and only 5-10mins down the road from both waterparks and go-karting. The beach is about the same distance in the other direction and the main strip of clubs is only a short walk further.

HOTEL FOOD/DRINK

There is plenty of food to choose from available from 8am-11pm and although it isn't the best food in the world there is absolutely no way you will go hungry.

I mostly drank Cruzcampo lager but there is a wide variety of alcoholic and soft drinks avaiable till about 11.30/12pm

HOTEL STAFF

Don't like to cast all of them under the same stone but in general they were probably the rudest people I have met - ever! One night we were sat by the bar and were bein' a little noisy as we'd 'ad a few bevies an one of the staff came over and told us to 'SHUT UP!' Yeah like that's gonna work, why don't you go an learn some manners! 

NIGHTLIFE

one word - CLASS! Lennon's Bar is the dogs, Boomerang is quality also. For 10-12Euro's you get a stamp which lets you in Boomerang, Bananas, Tokyo Joe's, Carwash and Fusion with a free bevy in the first one you go in. Gutted I Didn't go in BCM but me mates went on first night an said it wasn't that good! The PR's are like vermin an offer you free drinks + offers if you go in their bar - but they get in ya face an R quite annoyin' after a while.
Most bars are open till about 4am and a some are open till 5/6am. The drinks are reasonably priced as well so you can go out an get wasted without breakin' the bank.

EATIN' OUT

We didn't eat out that much becoz we were stayin all-inclusive but one place I would recommend is Rambo's - the mixed grill is a monster!

I would definitely recommend Magaluf and Don Manolo to any groups of youngsters goin' on hols as your guarenteed a good time - on the other hand I wouldn't recommend it for families unless you like NOISE!

Stayed at the Don Manolo for 1 week all inclusive in july with 5 friends for our first girly holiday!

Hotel was ok if your just using it as a base. Pool was ok but looks bigger in the pictures! Food was horrible and im not a fussy eater! if you dont want to spend your holiday with a dodgy stomach steer clear of any meat!(which leaves you with a choice of chips, bread, pizza and pasta!)Drinks were all local as expected but no complaints in that department! Unlike other reviews we didnt find the noise a problem although that might be cos we were makin the noise half the time!

I was only in BCM for about an hour b4 i had to leave cos my mate had food poisening but the ones that stayed said it was brilliant! (costs 20/21 euros to get in and that includes your drinks for the night) Tokyo Joes was really good aswell! No point going out b4 11 cos nightlife dont get going till l8!

Beach was lovely and even though its prob about 15 min walk it dont seem that long! (plus you can get a tan on the way)

If you wanna go to a water park make sure you go to the one with the boomerang thing (NOT WESTERN WATERPARK - ITS NAF)food is quite expensive tho so you mite wanna take summin with u!

Go to Pirates - best nite out, can't remeber how much it costs but it was well worth it!!

Went for a girly holiday and we had a fab time only for three days.  

The resort is just what we expected nice beach and loads of bars and nightclubs, i have been to alot of all inclusive hotels but i would say this is not one of the better ones when it comes to food, the drinks are the norm for spanish hotels but the food i didnt eat and i'm not a fussy eater.  I think it is better to go self catering of BB at this hotel.  The hotel was full of groups like us and this didn't bother us but it would of done if we were on a family holiday as there were fights while we were there and had men knocking on our door at all hours.  

This hotel served its purpose at it was close to the nightclubs and beach and was cheap but i don't think i could of stood it for a whole week

We arrived and was shown to our rooms. the room itself was small for two people not quite a double bed and no view only over a concrete slab. The pool area was congested with loads of people the pool is small. The food breakfast was buffet everything was tastless bacon well it as bits of fat and chips for breakfast!!
Evening meal the same more or less italian pizza pasta and on the main section whole fish, veal, liver in gravy chips under done . we didnt eat at the hotel we ate out the staff were friendly i would not recommend this hotel.

After reading all the reviews before we went i was a bit nervous about this hotel.  But please let me stress to you it is not half as bad as what some of the reviews say.  Yes i agree the pool area didn't seem big enough for the amount of rooms their were, but we were getting round the pool for 1030 (which i dont think is early) and there were loads of sunbeds left and loads of space. 

The Pool area was very nice, the food was spot on and our rooms, ok they were not the ritz but they were clean and tidy and the maids cleaned every day. 

i will admit the Hotel is really for younger groups and not really ideal for families as people were going out and not coming in till 8-9am.

Magaluf was great it was red hot, the beach was gorgeous and we had a great time.  We met loads of nice people and would definatley go back, and i would definitely go back and stay in the Don Manola.

We flew out on saturday night and arrived at the hotel 4 sunday morning. We had a ticketless airline so once we arrived at the airport in palma we didn't know where to go for our transfers. Every rep we went to sent us else where, in the end there was a taxi man there with our name on a board. It only took 15 minutes or so to get to the hotel.
The next morning we got up early and got our sunbeds. To say there are so many rooms the pool areas not big enough.
The food was nice with stuff for everyone like chips,pizza, pasta etc. Im a vegetarian and even i managed to eat well.
The hotel has a variety of guests from families, teenagers,and couples. Everyone was really friendly and we met some really nice people.

TOKYO JOES is the best place to go out but for a cheap night go to BCM (20 euros in,an free drinks).
I had a brilliant time staying at the Don Manolo and would definitely go back. You definitely get your moneys worth with free food running from 8am til 11pm and drink 8am til 12am.

Visited this hotel at the beginning of May 2005.  We arrived late at night, was welcomed and told to go straight to the restaurant as it was closing soon, which we thought was nice as we had travelled all day and was hungry when we arrived.

The room was very basic, two twin beds and bunk beds which we used to put our suitcases on as there was not a lot of storage room.  However, it was clean and comfy. You get what you pay for!

The restaurant was nice although the food was mis-matched and repetative. 

The pool was nice but rather small.  There was plenty of seating around the pool which was nice. 

The entertainment during the day consisted of bowls, archery, rifle shooting, darts and some other board game which I cant remember the name for.  That was good fun so its worth joining in.  The evening entertainment was ok if you're not too fussy.

One evening the bar was flooded with sewerage water which smelt terrible - they cleaned it up as fast as they could and it was not their fault it happened so one could not complain in all fairness (although some people did!!)

The location was good, close to the main town, shops and clubs.  It took about 10 - 15 minutes to walk to the lovely beach.

It was a lovely relaxing holiday until two days before we left when all the rowdies arrived.  There were large groups of lads and girls who took over the hotel and made it into a holiday from hell.  The girls next door to us played their cd till all hours of the morning (the same tune over and over again), they shouted over the balconies, mattresses were chucked over the balconies and the police were a regular visitor.  The language was atrocious and we were so glad to be coming home.  We felt sorry for the retired couple who had just arrived and they had to spend two weeks in sheer hell. 

When we booked we were not advised that the hotel was an 18 - 30 holiday hotel.

The staff were friendly enough - perhaps because we were middleaged and not there to make noise or trouble.

Overall, I would recommend that to anyone who wants a family or "nice" holiday to book before the first week of May cos after the 1st week, the hotel belongs to the rowdies.

this is the second time i have been to this hotel, the first time i went this was a really good hotel. i have just recently come back from my second trip and have found that this hotel is now a club 18-30 hotel which i was not advised at time of booking.
although my holiday was still enjoyable i think that myself and other familys should have been advised st time of booking.
there is still family entertainment on but i have heard through the grapevine that this hotel will be completley club 18-30 from september.
dont get me wrong the young people didnt bother us in the slightest but i would just like to advise familys travelling there in the next year.

the hotel is nice and the resort is brilliant.

Horrific. We were sent there after finding that Alpharooms had not booked us in to the hotel in Palma Nova that we thought we'd booked. Reception staff at the Don Manolo were rude, sullen and generally disinterested. 

The rooms were dreadful. The pool area was heaving with gangs of 18-30's getting drunk on cheap-and-nasty all-inclusive booze. Do not take children (or adults,or pets) to this place. God only knows what goes on in Magalluf at night when the hordes hit the streets. Thankfully, we managed to get moved again on the first day to the Hotel Tobago in Palma Nova. Far better in every way. Luckilly, we ended up having a great holiday, which would not have been the case if we'd had to stay at the Don Manolo. 

It's great for the youngsters I'm sure, but everyone else-and particularly families-should avoid like the plague.

Location:  Rear of resort but within walking distance of bars including Mano's which has excellent tribute bands on like the 4 Tops, Beatles & Abba.  Only a 3 euro taxi ride to the main Strip.

Accommodation:  Our room had 4 beds even though there were only 2 of us.  This was fine for just the 2 of us but if 4 are sharing, there isnt much storage or space for getting ready to go out.

Food:  Really awful!!!  We aren't fussy eaters but this was the worst food we've ever encountered.  It's like a quiz for the soup because every night it said "vegatable" but as it was a different colour every day we played "name that vegatable"!!!   The same went for the fish as you had no idea what type of fish it was.  The food was lukewarm and just not very apetising at all.

Resort:  You will be spoilt for choice for the amount of bars and clubs.  Best bars are the Eastenders for the karaoke, Mano's for entertainment and Lennon's.

We had a fabulous holiday but would not go back to this hotel again and would only recommend it if you get a really, really cheap deal.

Before we arrived we had read many reviews most put us off. So when we arrived we were suprised, the hotle was clean friendly people. 

Rooms were basic but what do people really expect. Lunch time again we were suprised because the food was actually quite nice towards the end of the holiday we were sick and tired of the food we couldnt even stand the smell it was the same all the time but if u like pizza pasta and chips youll b fine. 

The pool area was nice was cleaned everyday yes there were leaves in it but again wot do u expect in autumn. Entertainment was good the team worked well together and actually seemed to enjoy them selves (you dont see that often). 

Onct we found the shortcut to the beach next to the local bar it took only about 5 mins 2 get there. If you like cocktails go 2 the malibu beach bar and daquari palace on the beach front ask 4 reg at the malibu beach bar hes sooo funny. The 2 trips i would advise u book the pirates absolutley fantastic and the catamaran it was lovely on the whole i would definetley go again. 

The one complaint i have is with the lifts it says 8 ppl but u could only get 4 then it would beep and say too much weight make sure u stand around the edge and not the middle otherwise u can only get 2 in.

Me and my mum have just returned on Saturday from a weeks break All inclusive at the Don Manolo.

We had read the reviews on this site beforehand and was a little bit worried, however we went with an open mind and have very little faults with this hotel and don't really understand what the fuss was all about.

Dedicated holidays were very good and the rep called matt was really friendly and helpful, would definately travel with them again.

The hotel and resort is only half an hour from palma airport, which is good.

Hotel was very clean at all times and the maids done a good job of the rooms.

We were given a 2nd floor room and was a little aprehensive as we had read the reviews on how theives had targetted the first two floors prieviously. we did not hear of any robberies at the hotel the week that we stayed there.

Rooms were a little basic but had everything that was needed and were clean. And anyway we were only there to sleep in them and get changed.

The reception area was really nice and spacious with plenty of sofas for you to relax on.

The pool area was fine, clean and had many sunbeds, tables and chairs so no getting up at 7 to put the towels on the beds! The pool was a little smaller then it looked in the pictures but still a decent size. there was also a entertainment stage and bar close to the pool.

The restaurant was huge and regularly cleaned. Meal times were as follows:

Breakfast: 8am - 10.30am
snacks: 10.30am - 12.30pm
Lunch: 12.30pm - 3pm
Snacks: 3pm - 6pm
Dinner: 6pm - 9pm
Snacks: 9pm - 11pm

All soft drinks, Tea and Coffee were on a  help yourself basis all day. Achohol was given to you at the two bars by staff and was from 10am - 11.45pm

Ice creams are available most of the day too.

A lot of people mentioned the food wasn't very good but to be honest i thought it was fine and there was plenty to choose from everyday. For the price that we paid we could not moan as we certainly got our moneys worth, even if it wasn't food it was definately the alcohol! great selection of meats,pastas,fruit and veg, potatos, chips, pizzas, breads, soups, salad and deserts. our only fault with it was we wasn't so keen on the spanish meat for example bacon and sausages but not everybody is the same.

The main bar area and 2nd entertainment area was nice and comfortable. I personally thought the entertaiment was ok and was different every night, which included Bingo,games and quizes,singing and dancing,a parrot show.

The staff at the hotel were ok and friendly at times, However would of been nice if they managed to smile every now and then. In my opinion this is just generally all spanish people, definately not as nice as turkish people!

The hotel was all mixed ages, Both me and my mum have never been on a holiday where we have met so many people as everyone talks to one another around the pool and in the bar which is nice.

The location of the hotel was great, Just across the road from the pirates show which is good and a 10 minute walk from both water parks and go-karting. We went to the aqualand water park and it was good, however if you purchase your tickets from the hotel reception then you will save a few euros then paying at the entrance.The hotel is situated in nice surroundings and is close to some bars,restaurants and shops and the main resort centre is about a 10 minute walk. The beautiful beach is just five minutes away.There is some great bars in Magaluf to go too such as Chaplins, Pocoloco, pachas and the nightclub Boomerangs. Magaluf is everything its made out to be with regards to partying as there is roughly 180 bars and about 5 clubs there but  Don't be put off about Magaluf being full of youngsters and roudy larger louts because you will be suprised how many older people and families also go. Theres plenty of nice restaurants and family based bars.

We reccomend you go to the show called son amor as it was a really nice evening out. We booked our tickets with Matt the rep and we did actually save some money this way. coach picked us up at 7pm and took us to the show which is about half an hours drive away. We got a lovely 4 course meal and also a bottle of wine each,champagne and liquors. The show consists of spanish,English and Irish dancing, singing, caberet acts, Magicians, acrobats and then at the end the Drifters come on to sing all of their greatest hits and some covers.

The weather for the time of year was great 28-30 degrees.

On a whole we had a great holiday, I don't really understand why so many people have complained about the Don Manolo on this site because i have been to much worse 3* hotels before and  i would say we paid for what we got. I would definately go to Magaluf again but in July or August when it is the busy season. and would even stay at the Don Monolo again. Most people stayed at this hotel on a cheap last minute deal so you cannot exactly expect the ritz with the money you pay, however don't let the reviews put you off and just make up your own mind.

Quite honestly a complete waste of money.

On first arrival the hotel appeared to seem ok however after speaking to other guests around the pool we discovered that there were many problems at the hotel.On the night before we arrived we found out that two of the rooms on the first floor had been broken into and had many items stolen.we were quite concerned when we heard this and spoke to the hotel management to request a change of room as our room was on the first floor,all we were told was we could change rooms in a few days time.

Other problems with the hotel were the food and drink.When you consider you have booked an all inclusive package holiday you expect to get a reasonable quality of food however this was not the case and we didnt enjoy eating in the hotel.The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful and never smiled.

We would advise anyone considering this hotel not to come here and chose another hotel in Magaluf.

when we arrived at the hotel are first impression was very nice as by many of you we read the reviews after we already booked it but it didnt put me off because everybody expertations would be different  

the check in was quick then off to the room we went the rooms were small but clean the only problem was the heat ther was no air con so the heat hit us like a slap in the face we ended up hiring fans for 18euro with 10 euro deposit which you got back at the end of your stay. 

when we had are first meal we thought it was ok but by the end of the week i got a bit fed up with it because it was alot of the same stuff everyday  but you cudn,t go hungry they did cater for all types but i didn,t think there was much for the kids my daughter of 4 lived on bread and chips all week they did have pasta and pizza every day also and i love that but i did get fed up at the end especially when ther was a pizza with sprouts on. the drinks where good i liked the idea of you could help yourself to the soft drinks which was also good for the kids save hasseling me all the time . 

the pool area was ok but we did get up early 2 save the beds and on a few occasions are beds were moved still with the towels on the pool was warm which was nice but i dont think it was that clean it seemed to have a film across it and it had alot of leaves in it i only seem them clean it twice within the week. entertainment bad really bad got board every night only 1 good night with a magician which the kids loved 

i wouldn,t go to the hotel again but i would go back to magaluf again even tho hotel was really handy for the 2 aqua parks which are a must and the pirates show we heard of no break ins and ther was no hassel even tho ther was plenty of young 1ns we wern,t kept up all night with noise so that was a bonus the lifts where a bit of a pain especially round meal times you waited ages and when 1 finally stopped i couldn,t fit the pram in if there was more than 2 people in it . 

overral it was an ok holiday but like i said i wouldn,t go back to that hotel

Got back fron DON MANALO in early hours of this morning. 

This hotel is in a very good location for families, ie, close to both waterparks, pirates, go karting and a short walk to the beach. This is where the good points end, i'm afraid. 

The hotel is like something out of a time warp.In reception you think "not bad". Then you see the pool, not much i can say about this except AWFUL. It is very small and extremely deep. Two men cut their feet on the broken tiles in the water, when staff were informed they pretended not to know about them. Since found out off one of the more friendlier staff they have known about it but have to wait untill the end of september before they can drain the pool to fix this problem. 

The hotel rooms were grim to say the least. dont worry about being broken into, you are lucky if you can open the door on the balcony without putting your shoulder out. Everything in bedrooms needs remodernising, shower floods room unless towels are placed along the back of the bath and floor.  

FOOD well it just got worse, you got the same choice of meals on a daily basis, lunch, dinner and snacks were all the same. The choice of deserts was appalling they never changed from one day to the next. Youll be fine with false teeth in this hotel as all puddings could be sucked through a straw. 

The staff had to be the most miserable lot i have ever met. The kids entertainers were pleasant enough, just a shame they did not have any shows on that catered for kids other than 3-5 year olds. As everyone knows if the kids are happy then the adults are. 

We went out and about, the 2 waterparks were great fun, ask reception day before for a packed lunch and you can take them in to waterparks. The beach is only a ten minute walk from the hotel which is lovely, plenty of shops and bars on way . 

The BEST bar we went in was called THE GREEN PARROT, situated underneath a doctors medical centre,opposite the Britannia pub. The dj was similar to CHUBBY BROWN, he was hilarious, no one was safe from the lashing of his tongue.A little blue but hysterical all the same. 

You could not ask for a better resort for families and clubbers alike, just a shame the hotel was such a HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. This hotel could be great if they remodernised it , sacked the chef, and put it in the contracts of the staff to be pleasant if only for 50% of the time. 

I would not recommend this hotel to friends family or enemies. If you have already booked this hotel,you will still have a good time as long as you are not expecting 3* . We paid 1500 for a week all inclusive, booked a week before we flew. If you havent already booked i would not recommend going to this hotel for half the price we paid. GOOD LUCK

We booked this holiday through the internet with 6 weeks to go.

First of all when we arrived the reception looked lovely we booked in very quickly got rooms on 6th floor which wasn't bad, got to rooms they were very basic and very hot so hot that they were uncomfortable after first night and no sleep had to hire a fan 18 euros per week it didnt feel any different. went down to get beds it was easy any time of the day, 

resteraunt was air conditioned which was nice cause the weather was wonderful food very basic and much the same everyday not much varitey for the kids just chips an chips oh pizza was nice freshly made every few minutes.lots of fish an veal eee.the worst part of the hotel is the entertainment we booked all inclusive so the kids would be entertained of a night an we could relax but that didnt happen it was so amatuer i could of done better we ended up going out most nights which we would of preferred not to trapcing kids in and out of bars looking for somewhere good.

i would never go back to this so called 3 star hotel (more like 2star)and would not reccomend it to anyone with kids, there was a lot of young ones who wanted to party till all hours kept you awake a load of rubbish

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

The holiday didn't start well basically because our rep was a bit rubbish really, she helped a bit towards the end of the hol but she seemed more interested in chatting to any lads in the hotel. We found the reception staff friendly and obliging at first but have a problem and they will really snap! We had a cockroach in the room and asked to have someone to get rid of it and recep woman assumed I was accusing the hotel of having an infestation!

The maid had mistakenly swept up money from our room, so I asked the recep if she was still working to speak to her.(tip:learn spanish if you'd like to speak to the maids)He started going off on one saying that he'd ring the police because I was accusing her of stealing the money which wasn't the case at all!

However, on some instances you couldn't fault the service.There was a fire on first floor and it was promptly professionally dealt with. Our bathroom door got jammed, and a light broke someone was there immediately sorting it out.

The 'entertainment' at the hotel was pretty bad, it's OK if you're a kid or a typical brit who enjoys playing bingo, quizes and kareoke every night. I found the entertainment staff most abrupt, and if you decline to play in their little games they like to publically harrass and embaress you. One night at the BCM we were given lasers and, I would say, 40% of people were using them that night on buildings and whatnot.We were the only people that were told to hand them in because they were illegal in Spain. Of course had we(or neone else)known that we might not have used them.

Entertainment didn't really cater for adults, but then you couldnt fault Magalufs nightlife.In the week we were there, Dave Pearce, Judge Jules, DJ Sammy and Tim Westwood were at the BCM. For 20Euros with an all inc. bar, you just can't go wrong!

We did find the food rather repetitive. Chips, pasta, pizza every night is a bit much, even for the avid junk-food fan. There were other things but the meat just didn't look very nice, and the deserts were quite boring.Fruit was nice though. Standing joke between us and friends were the excellent combinations the chef concocted - deep fat fried broccoli and even deeper fat fried cauliflower... ahh
Although, if you're peckish, go to McD's. You'll never see a huger meal in your life!

All in all this was the second year running to Magaluf, and I'd go back again, the people and package are fantastic. Hotel couldve been a bit better, but perfectly placed and it had everything you needed, was always clean so couldn't complain! I think some people go expecting something outstanding and 5* style, but go with an open mind and you'll be fine!!

Ok guys, here goes.... if youve just booked a last minute deal for this hotel like we did and cant find much info about it or wot u do find is horrifying... i can give u a good honest opinion on this hotel.  

We booked on Monday 19th July with Teletext, sat 24th was the only date left for a last minute deal, and this was the only hotel available at the price we wanted, ( i normally check them out 1st on this website), there were only 2 seats left, and being desparate to book, we just booked, then went on website 2 look at hotel reviews, to say i was shocked and worried about the reviews was an understatement, i didnt sleep much that week worrying about wot we were going to.  

1st of all, 3 star! well every 1 has their opinions on board... but i wuld put this under a 2+, dont get me wrong, ive been in better 3*, but ive also been in worse, so it all depends on wot uve stayed in b4. 

We booked all inclusive, the food was ok, we managed to eat there every nite, no complaints really considering its a 3*, b/fast, lunch, tea, and the constant snacks, salads and meats in between right up 2 11pm, so if u miss any meal sittings u wont go hungry, dining room was spotless, non smoking and the staff was friendly, some people did have a moan about staff "picking on them" or "just being awkward" the ones being as they say "picked" on was the ones who entered the dining rm shoeless, (not allwed), bare chested, (wuld u like a bare chested man leaning over the food u r about 2 eat)? not wearing their nclusive band, (notices up stating bands 2 b worn at all times), 

the hotel itself was clean, the bar is local drinks, sangria, wine and soft drinks, limited, yes, but isnt most all inc hotels.. on checking in, we were told that we had been checked in nxt dr to the don juan, their sister hotel, 4 wotever reason, i dont know, probably overbooked, but this woz just 2 sleep, we used the manolo facilities, both were clean and we only sleeped there. 

NOW magaluf is as they say blackpoool in the sun!!!! its absolutely rocking, which means.... yes. gangs of young lads and girls on their summer hols, like us having a gud time, only they tend 2 b younger and have more energy than us older ones so there is noise at both these hotels, and yes sometimes, (most nites really) it is right up 2,5, 6, or 7am, if its a nice quiet hotel u want this is not 4 u. we didnt mind the noise, a quick word with the culprits in the day (when theyre sober) seems to do the trick, they do listen, and the hotel security does take note of the complaints.  these youngsters are drinking 4rm 10.00am until midnite on (free) drinks, of course theyre going 2 make the most of it but if u dont drink urself in the evening b4 bed, enough 2 make u sleep soundly enough, then yes, u r going 2 b kept awake most of the nite. 

as 4 people saying its disgusting!!!! the only people responsible were the holidaymakers themselves, the staff work hard and do long hrs, drunken gangs were responsible 4 throwing chairs 4rm their balconies, bottles, spitting down 2 were others were sitting drinking at the bar, kids were throwing food and wasting it (its free) who cares woz the reply, this woz kids under 12... so yes, if the place luks like there has been a war wen u wake sum mornings, its not the hotels fault, its the drunken holidaymakers... 

entertainment!!! not much cop im afraid, they need a new P.A system, couldnt hear much if u wernt right near the stage, bingo is worth a go, prize money sum nites 135 euros, and if youre lucky enough (like) me, u might just win... i won 80euros, but its only until 11.30pm then u can go out to the town 5 mins walk to the bars n beach, must visit the green parrot... dj excellent. 

im sorry if ive gone on a little, but if id av got as much info about this place b4 i went, id have felt much better. all in all for wot u pay and if u leave it until the last minute u have got 2 take wots left, if youre not fussy and dont have high expectations u will have a gr8 time here, we did, and yes, we would go back to this hotel... happy holidays...........

we read reviews before goin and were wary but we had a brilliant time!!

the food is fine!it can get repetitive but im veggie n i managed to find something everynight!!the staff do smile, the bar staff laugh and joke with you and all staff (except some maids) speak good english.we had some idiots bouncing round the floor at 6 in the mornin, but one fone call to reception and security were there in 5 mins chasin them all for there passports givin em all a warnin!

we heard of one burglary, they had just arrived and left 750 euros lying around in the room while they went to hire the safety deposit box!i dont leave that much lying around at home!fair enough they dint deserve it but thats offerin it on a plate!

the lifts worked all the time, they do beep if there is to many but most the time if u stand round the edge of the lift it works anyway!we didnt travel with any holiday company we booked independantly but matt the cosmos rep looked after us anyway!!he was brilliant!!organised some great nights out and the booze cruise was fantastic!!one of the best memories of the holiday!!!we were gettin up at ridiculously late hours at times and always got sunbeds!!

this is not a family hotel!!if u go as a family u will enjoy the entertainment and u will like the hotel but u will experience noise at all hours which is neva good with little kids!!the entertainment were gr8 wen we were there!!all a gr8 laugh!and seem to genuinely enjoy wot they were doin!

the fizzy drinks are real!!there is nowt wrong with the pepsi!!the orange is orange cordial but all the fizzy drinks are lovely!we asked for vodka on the first day and the barman started messin sayin dont be borin n made us a well nice cocktail!!we drank it all holiday!

we stayed for one week, we had a fab time!defiantely aimed at young ones tho!!

What a nightmare holiday.  Booked two weeks all inclusive but afther the first week ended up in hosiptal with food poisioning.  Hospital done its best to prolong my treatment for the insurance money but I discharged myself.  Rep was uncaring and useless.  Also holiday company are denying liability desipte the fact that U pointed out other people had been hospitalised from the same hotel.  Food was bad and entertainment was not much better.  After coming out of hosipital i spent rest of my money on eating out

When i booked this late deal i thought, 'i don't mind where we end up as long as it's not Magaluf'and here we were.
Arrived at this hotel late Saturday night quick drink then bed, only we were awoken 5.00ish next morning to music playing loud, swearing, having our door banged on..seemingly our rep at the welcome meeting the following day said unfortunately there were lots of teletext hen/stag nights there in May. I don't mind how people enjoy their holiday, i just would like some consideration & sleep!

Things quietened down Monday onwards.
Food....boring but edible
go to Pirates, good entertainment & a decent meal!

no robberies but a fire on our floor, (6th) balcany small with chairs on, not suitable for children being so high up.
reception staff helpful, Cosmos rep helpful while selling excursion tickets, but promised to 'pricematch' then refused when we found pirates tickets for 60 euros cheaper than he was selling them for!
room very clean but smashed tiles in bathroom leaving a hole.
Wouldn't go back here...but then we only booked a cheap week away, so i suppose we got what we paid for!

to start with the hotel our third all inclusive holiday and this was a dissapointment on the food and entertainment  dont plan on staying in the hotel for your nightly entertainment as it isnt good gets very boring after a couple nights.  we didnt go hungry but the food is of the poorest quality the cheapest i think they could supply.  

the best thing about this hotel was the maid service rooms were kept clean and tidy and our maid was very friendly.  the best place we found to eat out was tom browns tasty food but you can eat else where cheaper but after a few days of the food at the hotel you dont care what you pay for a decent meal.    

waterparks are very close by and worth a visit we found western waterpark to be the better of the two.  and marineland was well worth a visit the taxi cost us about 16euros there and back.
i wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone i know but it served its purpose and we had a really good holiday.

Just returned back from Hotel Don Manolo and like a lot of other people was a bit conconcerned after reading some of the reviews.  However, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived there.  

We were given a room on the 7th floor which turned out to be full of young people on Stag and Hen parties.  When we first arrived at around 7.30pm I thought great everyone was having a really good time and it put me in the holiday mood for enjoying myself. I didn't feel quite so excited though when I was awoken for most of the night unitl 7.00am in the morning when the last of the clubbers returned to their rooms.  

Our room was at the side of the lift which obviously was the worst place for the noise.  Not that I have any problem with people enjoying themsevles and being noisy this is not a complaint, but I do like to sleep as well and as my clubbing days are well and truly over we asked at reception if we could change to a room on a less noisy floor.  The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and they gave us a lovely room ont he 1st floor. This room was much larger, nicer and also overlooking the pool. I didn't get woken up at all on this floor.  No problems with break ins, infact you were lucky if you could open our patio door to get out never mind in.  There were 2 locks on the door and I felt quite secure.  We did hire a safe non the less just in case. 

The food was very good (and I am quite a fussy eater) there was always plenty of choise.  I didn't rate the snacks very much some of it seemed to be left overs from the day before.  The coffee from the coffee machines was lovely, I would suggest though if you can to take a plastic beaker or something similar to put coffee in because the plastic cups you get there are really tiny and hard to drink out of I noticed a few other people had done this, obviously been before.  

The entertainments team were very good, but I do think you had to join in to enjoy it.  Some nights I have to say it was a bit boring, but as we got a cheap deal and most people seemed to, it was't too bad to go out elsewhere on a night. The rooms were really clean the maids were really non instrusive, they weren't knocking you up in the early hours.  We went for breakfast at around 10.00 and when we came back to the room about half an hour later the maids had been in and cleaned and made the beds it was like the fairies had been in the room.  

Everyone in our party regardless of age thoroughly enjoyed their stay at the Don Manolo and I would certainly go back there.  I have stayed in much, much worse places and payed twice as much.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Read writeups before we booked but could not understand why their were such different opinions.
We found the hotel ,staff,food all very good, and would recommend the DON MANOLO to anyone.
The downside were the individuals who were determined to keep everyone awake.
However the night staff did try their best to keep the noise down,but once awake it is hard to'dropoff' again.
I think a mention should be made of the entertainment staff lead by Kes who kept us all entertained.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

6 of us booked the hotel originally and then the other 2 added on later so when we got to the hotel 6 of us were on 1 floor and the other 2 on the floor above. We had 3 rooms of 2 with 1 room inbetween us. We got to the hotel at about midnight, unpacked our cases, got ready and went out. 3 of the lads went home early and the reat of us came back a few hours later. Because you are only provided with 1 key for your room, 1 of the lads was locked out when we got back so he knocked on the door to wake the other lad up. he was just about to knock again when the woman form the room inbetween us came out shouting and swearing at us saying that we have been keeping her up all week and this was the final straw! in the morning she came into our room and said the same thing. 

We told her that we had just got here but she said she was going to complain to the manager. within 10 minutes, the manager had given the 6 of us an hour to get out or he was phoning the police! we tried to explain what had happened and he just ignored us! Becasuse this was meant to be an all inclusive holiday, we hadnt brought as much money out as we usually would have, luckily we had our bank cards and we went and got another hotel, but we ended up spending nearly a grand that week when we had only anticipated spending around a third of that. 

the 2 lads that werent thrown out, who booked seperatley, then told us that some of the things people were getting up to during the holiday, fighting in rooms, shouting etc were just being ignored, they werent getting thrown out! 1 of the lads dad, who speaks Spanish, came out for the last few days to lend his son some more money and to try and sort the manager out. The manager just said that we shouldnt have booked into a family hotel and that it was our own fault for being drunk! he said any problems we have must got through AlphaRooms who we booked it through and that he wanted no more to do with it. We asked the 2 lads left staying there if it was more like a family hotel and they said it was full of young groups of people!!! 

Apart from that the hotel looked okay, rooms were tidy etc, nice pool.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

magaluf fantastic the best holiday you'll have3. bsm is the best club in europe and banannas is legendery. mulligans has the best pint of guiness money can buy. 

don monolo.....well were do i start, the rooms are minging and cleaned once every blue moon, when they do clean the room they dont knock on the door they just come in. the food was awfull they had CHEFS CHOICE, he wernt adventurus at all he served  up veal every day and pizza and chips was the only eatible food served up. 

the pool was small,moldy,and had weird things floating in it. the entertainment higher oor lower in spanish and bingo every night. the brochure described the hotel to be lively, but still we nearly got chucked out for playing music in our room. the lager was watered down it was awfull and give you the sh*ts. the spirits were cheap and made you ill. there was a tennis court with no net lines or tennis equipment. t5here was cockroaches behind the picture in our room. the receptionist were ignorent apart from legend who was on at night who wore a elvis masked and played the guiter.  the pub crawl they gave us.... we went to two pubs across the park and played a drinking game. if you want to go on a pub crawl go with the lybra reps they are fit and up for a laugh.

all in all go to magaluff it is buzzin and they dont call it shagamuff for nothing but if you book to stop in the don monolo your mad i would rather sleep on the beach.

the hotel don monolo is pathetic. bang the pictures and cocroaches fall down. sheetsn were minging and never cleaned. the food was sh*te as veal was the chefs speciality.  we survived on pizza and chips which was sh*te as well. the lager was poor and ive tasted robinsons orange stronger.  the pool was disgusting and had mould or fugii growing at the bottom of it. the ladders of the pool were half off. bingo was the main event at night or you could play higher or lower in spanish. the bar crawl they gave us was sh*te because they took two bars the dearest in the whole of magaluf. 

go to magaluf it is fantastic but don't go to the barry monolo

This has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in....

called itself a 3*....what a joke it doesn't deserve a star rating...I can handle other holidaymakers having a good time....staying up & coming home late....that's all part of partying when on holiday...The hotel was the pits....we had a room overlooking the roof of the restaurant....it was covered in broken chairs & condomms (used i might add)....okay that is not the hotel staff putting them there....but seeing as it was a problem it was their duty to clean it up....that's what we pay our money for to stay in a well run clean hotel.....The rooms were disgusting very dark brown paint on the bathroom doors & wardrobes....covering up dirt ....the bathroom shower was a joke it trickled out tiny bits of water so we had to go next door into the childrens room to shower which wasnt much better.....holiday reps just filed complaints forms but nothing ever got done....had trainers clothes & make up stole from two out of threee of our rooms....as others have mentioned by the maids....couldm't of been anyone else.

The food was of a low standard & very repetitive....the entertainment was like butlins sooooo desperate....but that didnt bother us really as we like to go out in the evenings dont like to be stuck in one place....but seeing as it was all inclusive some people probably hadn't catered to have to go out & spend money elsewhere on drinks etc.
The pool was an accident waiting to happen it was unsafe & very unhygenic....okay a lot of the rubbish & mess lying around is the mess guests make themselves...BUT it is the hotels responsibility to make sure they have enough staff to clear it up....The management don't want to know if you have a complaint....
If you want a good all inclusive holiday try Anamaria - Ayia Napa - Cyprus....with Libra holidays....cant beleive it is the same travel company what a difference!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

 I was expecting the worst when i read the reviews but the hotel is not that bad at all.
The rooms were quite small and basic but they're only for sleeping in. The cleaners are excellent.
There was no problems during our stay - no thefts, no broken lifts, no dirty pool. The entertainment team were good and theres lots of activities going on all day and night.

My only complaint would be the food, but theres lots of great places to eat in magaluf.(where the staff acually smile)
we did hear some other complaints but we just laughed at how pathetic they was. I dont know what people expect to get for £300!

The beach is about 5 mins away. watch out for people selling drinks on the beach - we got charged 20 euros for 2 San miguel's that we didn't ask for!

The hotel is about 15 mins away from the main nightlife so it doesnt get too rowdy and night. Theres places to go for everyone, any age.
I would recommend aqualand, the western waterpark and marineland during the day and boomarang, coyote ugly and BCM at night.

we had a great holiday and we are going back to magaluf next year. If you are going to hotel don manolo, dont expect too much, it is a standard 3* hotel - nothing more, nothing less.

we loved stayin at don manalo we were all inclusive and it was handy being able to go inside n get as much drinks or ice lollies we wanted, the entertainment wasnt up to much on most nights but most people aren't goin to be sitting in the hotel every night anyway. 

the hotel was really close to the shopping centre which was great for buying presents for taking home and buying things we forgot to take with us.our accomidation was quite basic but we didnt mind because its just somewhere to get changed in and sleep in, but nothing like holidays from hell or anything, we would definately recomend people to stay at the hotel it was very clean and the staff were very friendly. MAGALUF BABY -YEH!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Well what can you say about Magaluf except that if you don't go then you don't know what your missing!!!!!!  Honestly this was the best holiday i have ever been on.  There was seven of us all between the ages of 20 and 17 and we had a ball....we were half board, the hotel itself was to a reallt high standard. Although, i didn't care much for the spanish food in the restaurant.  The only down side was you have to be really quiet at night when you come in as Pepe the night receptionist gets quite upset at any noise in the early hours!!!!

On the resort itself, staying in the Don Paco you are about 100 meters from all the main pubs and clubs on the strip......Bananas is the best club on the island by far!!!!  If you go to Magaluf you can't come home without experiencing Bananas and Carwash!!!!!

Oh and if you'r like us and up for a laugh theres a t-shirt shop just about 20 meters up the hill from Bananas on the opposite site who do really cool t-shirts.....anything you want written on them, sleeves, front, back and collars all for e35 not bad!!!

A really good friendly place to eat right outside the hotel is Robinhoods all the staff are really friendly and the food is good value for money and they do a wicked english breakfast!!!!!  Sammys Pub is a nice wee change if your looking for a quieter night out, really friendly staff in there too.

We met a cracking group of guys and girls from Northern Ireland and Girls from Aberdeen, Not leaving out the paisley boys!!!!!  Hope you'r all well!!!!  We're not even irish! We're Scottish! (Private Joke they'll get it!)
