Just got back from this Hotel and had a fantastic holiday, couldnt fault the friendly staff. Choice of food was very good as Snack bar and pizzeria available outside of main restaurant times. Rooms very clean and spatious. Swimming pools very clean.Enjoyed the nightly barbeques overlooking the beach (which was also excellent especially the slider pedlo's) and kids loved the mini disco entertainment.
Be warned main pool goes from shallow to very deep quite quickly making it easy for little ones to get out of their depth, although the life guard on duty was very good.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Well we arrived at hotel at 12pm room wasnt ready till 2pm which wasnt to much of a problem gave u time to look around.

Room-it was big one of the best as it was on end of building so it had double balcony overlooking the pool and sea it was stunning.Room was cleaned every day and beds made,Air con not that fantastic.
Resturant Food-wasnt the best ive had but always found somthin to eat,got fed up seein veal on menu every day.
Pizzeria-pizza,s are very nice if you get them when just out of oven.
Pools-Are good rather deep and rather cold but i enjoyed them.sun beds and parasols are a problem as always need to be down early to get parasol(7am)crap.
Beaches-are bueatiful sea is gorguoes.

Pool Bar-Food hear is rather nice you could have toasties,burgers,hotdogs,there was salad and always plenty of fruit to hand.can get busy as staff are servin for drinks and takin orders for food,dont know how the chef coped somtimes.
Entertainmant-it was ok watched a few shows parrots are fab,cool and the gang good some fun nights.
Resort Center-it was fab superb shops plenty of them good bars and resturants if u fancy eatin out.
Your Rep-Dawn is fantastic from thomas cook good laugh a bit mad so hi dawn thanks for tha champayne for my birthday.

We went to a place called D,ALFILS bar/resturant dawn our rep recomended it to us so we went on the sunday nite and ive got to say its the best nite ive ever had so much so we ended back up there another twice,theres a singer/comedian (with a difference called jhon hes there on a sunday,wedensday and fridays you have to go and see him hes brilliant he starts his act at 9.30 go early to get seats we had dinner up there and it was fab bar staff are great and a bit mad,mike is fab.

All in all a fantastic holiday would definetley go back.

Overall
A very enjoyable all-inclusive Hotel with some good night time entertainment, reasonable food, a good range of drinks and great beach.

Hotel
Clean pool, 2nd week there were more 8-14 year olds in evidence, even in term time. There was professional entertainment 3nights a week. Much better than that normally expected on this type of holiday.
The air con was intermittent but due to the time of year wasn't essential. The sun beds round the pool were always covered with towels.
Don't have a room over the disco, which is on the left of reception when viewed from outside the Hotel. It apparently continues way past midnight and in the first floor rooms that are immediately above it you can't sleep due to the noise. The management are aware of this, they don't put children in these rooms, but do nothing if you complain.

Food
The pool bar was great for lunchtime snacks & at the 3rd attempt, over 3 days; we got a cheese & onion toasty which if what we ordered. The first 2 were cheese & tomato that were still good.  Don't sit down to wait for your food it arrives very quickly. You could also mix your own cocktail of the day.
The breakfasts were good but the evening meal could have been better presented. The pizzeria was fine if you liked pizza and chips.

Main Bar
Bar staff were entertaining. The list of Included Drinks was longer than I expected.

Resort
The beach was small crowded but only a short walk from the hotel & ideal for children. It was less than 5 minutes from the hotel BUT there are a lot of steps and its not suitable for the infirm.
You could take a boat up the coast to Porto Cristo. By changing boat here you could get to Sa Coma and beyond.
There are quite a few shops bars within 5 minutes walk and there are 2 bank ATMs. If you use   BBVA ATM and have a Nationwide Debit Card there are no charges at all. Be careful to ask for your account to be charges in Euros (NOT STIRLING) because Nationwide give a very good rate of exchange.
Go to the Tourist information office just passed the Hotel Samoa. You can get maps & Bus Timetables for the whole of Mallorca. Only open mornings

There is a good bus service from a bus stop outside the hotel. South to Cala Dor, North to Cala Bona/Millor & inland to the markets and across to Palma. Timekeeping can be erratic. On one occasion, as we were the only passengers, the bus went passed the stop and dropped us right in front of the entrance to the reception.
If you want peace a quite and a fantastic sea view you need to stop in the annex alongside the hotel.
There were few Mosquitoes at this time of year but if you are normally troubled by them take some DEET.

Weather.
Glorious sunshine. We had 2 very light showers in a fortnight.

This is the best holiday I have had in years. 

The hotel is fantastic, right on the beach and the views from the room was superb. The hotel is well placed within Calas de Mallorca and is only 2 minutes walk into the centre, where you can get everything you need (chemist, supermarket etc.,) There is a train which goes all around the area, great idea for a cloudy day. The hotel itself is well furnish and cleaned throughly daily. There is plenty to offer in the way of food and even enough for myself (I'm a veggie). 

The staff are super friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The best thing we enjoyed as a family was the evening entertainment. Mostly it was run by Eric, who is amazingly funny Cuban, just to listen to the bingo on a night was laugh! Great hotel too if you like to holiday with other nationalities, there were French, Polish, Spanish (on holiday), Slovakians,Italians, Czechs, and the occasional Germans! The beach at Callas de Mallorca is stunning, beautiful clear water and a gently sloping beach, makes this beach safe for even the smallest child. My two loved jumping the waves. 

We will be returning the Hotel America again, maybe not next year, but soon!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

When we arrived we were told they didn't have a room for us for another 2 days,  we were moved to the Club Cala Romani and told to come back to hotel America on Thursday and our room would be ready for 12,  it wasn't ready until 2.30.  Not the best start. 

When we got into our room i was pleasantly surprised it was bright and spacious with sea view.  The beds where made every day however couldn't say room  was cleaned every day.  The room has built in air conditioning which was brilliant.

Food:(  not great,  we always go All Inclusive and i have to say this was the worst choice i have come across,  it was either Veal, Pork or Turkey Day and night in restaurant,  The Pizzeria was a waste of time hardly any pizza available at times.  The best food was from the Snack bar at the pool,  The poor chef was so overworked..   at times he completely lost his temper and fought with bar staff.

Drink:(  constant queue at bar day and night and some bar staff unfriendly.  I am diabetic and only diet juice available was coke.  I ended up buying my own drink in town and taking into hotel. 

Entertainment:( This was awful we had Russian dancers, Brazilian dancers,  The best was the parrot show which was the only night entertainment was suited for kids.

Pool Area:( kids pool available for small kids, however main pools very unsafe for weak swimmers.  it goes very deep very quickly.

Resort :( takes about 10 Min's to round main square and that is all it has.  once you done it once very little to do.

We took a boat trip twice to Port Cristo and then to Cala Millor this was fantastic 2 great days out.

All in all the holiday was OK  would not return.  Also think i would have preferred to stay in the Cala Romani that we were in first as the entertainment that was on both nights there was fantastic and the pool area gorgeous 3 large lagoon pools....

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

First thing I have to say about this resort is that if you are young and looking for nights out and bright lights then this resort is not for you. On the other hand if you are in search of a relaxing family holiday with plenty of good food in a lovely location then this place is just what you have been looking for. 

The hotel America is a lovely hotel and the staff are really nice and friendly.The rooms are cleaned every day and fresh towels are provided daily. Every room in the hotel has a stunning sea view and the rooms are comfortable and clean, The food in the hotel is lovely with plenty of variety and you can get snacks from the pool bar and also the pizzaria. The all inclusive basis makes it so easy to relax and let the kids help themselves to whatever they want without the worry of running out of holiday spends! For those wishing to venture a little farther and get a bus trip I would like to warn you it took us well over two hours in heavy traffic to reach the other side of the island and visit Magalluf. There is a regular bus service stopping directly outside the hotel that will take you all over the island but the traffic is very slow moving. We went on a nice boat trip to the beautiful port of porto christo. We went and visited the caves of Drach which we really hated. Claustrophobics beware! Time in Porto Christo is better spent on the beach!

On another note you will enjoy the entertainment at this hotel cos its so bad its good! The presenters are really good but they get some really naff turns on. The best of the bunch are the parrott show and the Kool and the Gang tribute and the worst was an act called Lindas but we enjoyed laughing about them! The bar staff were all really overworked and underpaid but despite this were really cheerful and friendly. We especially liked Zena and a lovely waiter whose name I cant spell but he said to call him chiuaua (woof woof woof)! What a laugh he was! Sure you will know what I mean if you go.

Any way to round things up I think this is a great value holiday for families and I would certainly go back tomorrow if I could but if you want to go clubbing etc. then go to Magalluf or you will be disapponted.

We arrived at the hotel at 12;30 in the afternoon to be told our rooms were not ready for another 2hrs, not the best start to our holiday, but we were luckly some people were being told their rooms were not ready until the next day and had to stay in another hotel this seemed to happen often at this hotel. we did finally get to our room which actually was very nice and beauitful sea views and very large room.Staff at hotel very miserable apart from entainment team.Some really good shows thougth the week food not to bad good choice for everyone.

overall this hotel for the money was really good nice and clean and in a good location for the beach and not to far to walk into the little town to have something to eat there if bored with hotel food.

just back from the hotel america and would find it hard to find fault but have two, the over booking is still a problem as the hotel is part of a chain of hotels and this seems to be there way of filling the others up as this hotel seems to have it all location at beach in town and great hotel we where booked with thomsons and they dont seem to mess these companys about so we had no proplems, and the drink beer and wine, is weak as this is a family hotel is propably a good thing as you will see very few drunks the town is small but has everthing in it that you would want for a good night out odonnells irish pub live music this resort is for familys

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

First time all inclusive. The kids are just 6 so we were worried that the food would not be suitable. No need to worry, the food was fantastic, a little samey but still really good. We enjoyed the copius amounts of wine. Breakfast was everyones favourite meal top notch. The kids found the pool a little cold but the snack bar keept them filled up with hot dogs, pizza and burgers not to mention the ice cream! The beach is just down the steps and is a really good beach, and when you need something to eat or drink just pop up to the hotel and fill up.
The evening entertainment was not good but what do you expect. Kids disco (our kids loved it) bingo then an act.
We booked the holiday ourselves on-line. Flight only with Thompson, hire car at the airport, hotel saved a bundle, great holiday.
We are going back next year!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We arrived at the Hotel America with an open mind after reading some of the reviews on this site.  However, we were very pleasantly surprised.  The hotel is located on a headland with spectacular views all along the coast, including the sandy beach which is only a few minutes walk away.  The beach is gorgeous, lovely and clean with golden sand and very clear turquoise sea.  The hotel is kept very clean and you see cleaning staff throughout the day, working very hard. There is a pizzeria near the pool area, open from 12 noon until midnight as well as a poolside bar which serves snacks from 10.30am until 6pm.  Each evening there is a barbeque from 6.30pm until 9pm which is a lovely idea - the barbeque is held on the lower grassed sunbathing area.  We found the food in the restaurant quite varied, something for everyone and if you couldn't find something to eat then you are extremely fussy.  All four of us had plenty of choice each evening.  

The Animacion Crew were fantastic with the children and worked extremely hard providing lots of different activities throughout the day, every day. Jodie & Jack made lots of new friends and had an absolute ball.  The evening entertainment was varied and children enjoyed the kids disco. 
We went on the glass bottomed catamaran from the beach area to Porto Cristo which takes about an hour and was really good value for money - from there we went to the Caves of Drach, a 10 minute walk - which is well worth a visit. 

The centre of Calas de Mallorca is only a 5 minute walk away and whilst it isn't huge, there are quite a few bars, restaurants and shops and a large childrens entertainments area, with go-karts, bouncy castles, play areas, motorbikes, trampolines, bungee jums, etc.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

The bus journey was an hour from airport to hotel door but that was through the night about hour and half day time, and the little bus we went home on didnt have a loo so my 3 yr old niece use the bucket she bought on hol, best buy he-he. Receptionist through the night was miserable and put wrong band on my son gave him adult, but the next day he got told off and was told to go change it which i though was unfair as we tried to sort it that night but the bloke didnt understand him.

Any way Town, First things first Watch Your Bags!! When on our trip to the shops our bage were opened and 3 men and a lady tried to take our money and camera but luckly i had hid them safley, but another man 5 minutes away lost all his money but we managed to chase them and get it back.

Hotel in a lovley quiet location right next to beach and in a small area with a few shops (tabacco shop not open sundays) the beach is small and about 10 steps down from the hotel but worth every step. (dont buy your buckets and spades etc from the shop on way down to beach as they were twice the price go get them from as we called town).

The hotel its self was lovley room with a lovley sea view, not many plug sockets though struggled with my hair dryer and straightners but hey it was only a week, 1 wardrobe for everyone any 3 sets of drawers, take some pegs with ya as most peoples towels were on the roof of the resturant as they blew away.Food in pizza place (12-12), bbq (6-8)and pool bar (10-6) nice resturant rubbish could find a nice meal all week so ate before rest opened, entertainment ok for small kids my 15yr old bored plus no where for him to hang out!! bless.

We were on the top floor the veiws was great.The pool was a bit cold due to the sea breeze.The food was spot on you could not complain.The restarant choice of food was very good,great supply of burger,hotdog,ice cream.Do not bye any water thing next to te  beach because they are a rip off they are much cheaper at the town.The games for the children were very good through the day,Get down to the pool early for your beds (just after nine)it was our first time inclusive and it was excellant!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We had a really good break at Hotel America, we arrived at 4am (ouch) after a good flight and transfer (no delays) and were given a room in the annex.  This is a small block of 30 rooms 20m away from the main hotel, walked into the room and was impressed by the room. We were woken 4 hours later by the sun streaming in through the balcony and saw the amazing sea view for the first time.

Can't fault the maid service room cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided.

The food was good with something for everyone; Thomas lived on his favourite foods all week having different combinations of sausages, beans, nuggets, chips, hotdogs and icecream which he thought was great.  Sarah and I enjoyed the varied choice of meals trying all the food outlets.

Restaurant

Breakfast -  a selection of sausage, bacon, eggs etc, cold meats and cheeses, croissants and doughnuts and fruit and yoghurts.

Lunch/Dinner - Soup, breads, a selection of hot dishes (pasta, meat in sauce, carvery (dinner only) fish, vegetarian, chips, potatoes, veg, kids menu, salads, cold meats, fruit and desserts.

Pool bar - hotdogs, burgers, toasties, chips and a cold buffet fridge with meats, fish, salads, cakes and fruit.

Pizzarria - as you would expect but with cakes and late night snacks (ideal for munchies after one too many San Miguel's)

We spent the most of our time by the pool during the day and with the choose of 3 there's something for everyone.

The beach was lovely with golden sand and crystal clear seas very busy during the morning with little space if you don't want to pay for a bed.

Overall we got exactly what we went for sun, sea, relaxation and plenty of food and drink all this in a lovely hotel with no stress.

Had a week all-inclusive at the America in 1st week of Oct. 

Were very impressed with this hotel, very clean, and the maid service excellent. Rooms pleasant and very comfortable with a fabulous view of the beach below (we were on 7th floor) and all the way up the coast. Food very good - always plenty of choice, with excellent breakfasts and choice of several hot dishes at lunch and dinner, and always plenty of salad choices, too. We had a hire car for 3 days, and travelled most of the island - Formentor and the mountains are well worth visiting (don't look down on some of the coast roads if you haven't got a head for heights!), and also Cap de Selines, the most southerly point - a most beautiful wild place (don't expect any bars, there aren't any). Port de Soller is well worth a visit - delightful bay with lots of shops, and marina. Back at the hotel - very good selection of shops very close by. The hotel's bar with its outside terrace is very pleasant.  A word of warning - this hotel (as can be seen from other reviews) sometimes over-books. We arrived at 4 a.m. to be told our room would not be ready until 1.30 p.m. and were sent for what was left of the night to the Samoa up the road (not nearly so nice as the America). As it was the day of my husband's birthday, it messed it up a bit, but if this happens to you, do as we did, and complain to the rep. 

Our rep was Kim Brand, and she was wonderfully helpful, and eventually got us compensation from the management direct. If a few more people bothered to follow through on this, they would probably stop the over-booking. However, after getting settled, it did prove to be an excellent week, and we would certainly visit this hotel again.

this was our first family holiday abroad so we didnt know what to expect. the hotel was great,very clean,food was excellent and there were plenty of activities for us all to do. resort is small but caters for all needs. the views from the hotel are fantastic. one minute walk to the beach. we would highly recommend hotel america to all. will be going back next year.
local bars were fairly cheap with some offering 'two for one'or pay ten euros on the door for free drinks all night.very friendly atmosphere,and great fun shows in some bars.
hotel entertainment was cheesy but fun.bingo was hilarious[5 different languages],and some of the shows were good.

Booked a late weeks AI on tinter. Resort quite small, you could prob walk the lot in 15 mins. Would recommend a bigger resort with more going on. We hired a car from the airport as we always do, plenty to see but the local road-signs are a joke to follow so be prepared to "explore". Hotel is clean, well maintained and right on the sea, pools ok but not many sunbeds. Rooms tidy with sat tv (the usual 2 english channels) view from 7th floor brethtaking but not for those who are scared of heights. Buffet meals were very good but the pizzas were a real let down (pre-cooked and kept warm) Drinks were fine with all hot drinks from a vending machine (excellent coffee mind). Entertainment average, magic show was good but the rest very missable! Would struggle to spend 2 weeks in this hotel or this resort but fine for a cheap week!(we payed £150 each AI inc flights) TRY CYPRUS...DIFFERENT CLASS.

Hotel is in a very nice position next to the beach, rooms were very clean and food was ok, but a bit repetitive.  As previous comments not impressed with reception staff who are very off-hand, some of the staff are friendly and some are not.  Only at this hotel a few days as our room along with a couple of other peoples rooms were broken into,and all our money was stolen so we asked to be transferred which we were. Hotel did not seem bothered with what had happened to us so on this I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Just got back from a 2 week hols at hotel America, this is how it went the reception staff were the most unfriendly I`ve come across not in any way helpful! The waiting staff never smiled and had no interaction with guests at all. The bar staff were the only ones who actually interacted and had a laugh with you especially guiseppi and Mercedes who made our evenings enjoyable.

The food at first was acceptable but as days went on it got worse, it was cold and very repetative, they didn`t replace empty trays of food & you could be waiting 5-10 mins for them to return as I was on many occasions! The choice was very poor but if you like Veal then you`d be ok.
The rooms were very clean, but a word of advice don`t take alot of hanging up clothes as the wardrobes aren`t even full lenght or width!!! The complex itself is brilliant 3 pools and we found a lovely sun deck away from the pool where it was alot quieter. The resort is also quite nice and there is everything you need. If you go to the pharmacist they do not speak any english at all.

We would go back to this hotel if the food improved and staff morale boosted.
Be aware they are also known for overbooking as this happening many times while we were there, even to repeat customers!!!!

Do not go to this hotel unless you are willing to get up at 7 am to reserve your place by the pool! On the day we left people were going down at 5.30am to get their spot. The beds get unlocked at 9am and its a total bun fight to get a sunbed :o(

Other than that the hotel is fairly clean but gets a bit scabby by the end of the day with all the plastic drinks cups blowing around.

The staff seem to think that they are doing you a favour by being there and don't really seem to want to serve you with any courtesy. 3 drinks per visit maximum so expect to queue on a regular basis at busy times.

Food is quite basic chips, burgers, pasta and pizza from the snack bars and a self service restaurant with a selection of meat and salads et. Think this may get a bit boring on the second week!

Generally its a Butlins abroad loads of kids - which was good for us as our children made lots of friends.

Pools fairly big and deep cleaned daily.

Beach very close with some great snorkelling.

If you can handle the sunbed situation then I would give it 7/10 but only 4/10 because of the sunbed bun fight every morning!!!!

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews.  We had visited the resort before and enjoyed it.  The hotel was fantastic.  The staff were polite.  A wide range of food was available every day.  Even for the fussy eaters there was always something to choose from.  The pool bar served burger and chips and there was always a selection of salad, meats, fish and also cakes.  The ice cream for the kids was endless.

The rooms were brilliant.  Our room must have been one of the largest.  There were four beds in it and there was room to put at least four more.  The towels were changed every day.  The entertainment was really good and there was always something for the kids to do with certificates presented at the kids disco at night.  The resort itself although small had plenty of pubs and bars.  There were some really good shops with bargains to be had.  There was also two miniature golf courses one being in the middle of the resort and the other on the outskirts.
The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the views from the hotel along the coast from our room.  We met some lovely people.

We booked two trips through thomsons.  They were both brilliant the pirate show was fantastic i would recommend it to anyone.  The western water park was brilliant as well.  

What more can we say except we can't wait to return.

just returned from a week all inclusive at hotel america, and had a great time! our first time all inclusive and what great value for money! staff where helpful and friendly, and always smiling. rooms where great, only thing to bear in mind ladies is theres no hair dryers! the only thing i would say is they could do with a couple more lifts! if you are going here then your in for a great holiday, lovely setting lots to do for all the family or just to have a relax while the kids have fun.
good variety of food and drink on offer from a variety of places throughout the hotel all day.

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of Aug.

The hotel was spotless, staff friendly and rooms clean spacious and had excellent sea views. We found the staff more than helpful and cheerful, which is amazing considering the amount of hours they work and the number of guests at this hotel.

The sunbeds are just like any other hotel we have stayed in. If you want to fight for one then start queuing about 8.30am. It not go to the beach which is just down the steps. It has two nice sandy coves with plenty of sunbeds. The sea is lovely and warm with clear waters. We went on the glass bottom boat to Porto Cristo, and would also recommend this. You can dive off the boat and have a swim for about 15 mins before starting your journey again.

The food in the main restaurant was good for the first few days, but found you were eating the same thing over and over again. We decided to try the bbq, which was fantastic. The food was seasoned and tasted wonderful, especially the chicken, and cooked to your liking. The poolside bar also served great snacks, the hamburgers and chips were nice, and there was also salads if you wanted something lighter. Did not rate the pasta and pizza bar that much though.

In the resort itself there are plenty of shops to browse around. There are several bars to have a drink in.We see a tribute band in the Rock Cola bar on our last night and wished we had of gone there before. Happy hour till 3am!!! There are also a number of restaurants if you fancy something different to eat.

All in all a good holiday. We would stay here again without a doubt. However, maybe not peak season as found it a bit too busy, shuffling around queuing. In saying this is, it would not put us off staying here again.For the views alone it would be worth it.

We read a load of reviews before we booked to go here.  We had visited this resort before but stayed at a different hotel.  We had an absolutely brilliant time.  Our room had to be one of the largest in the hotel. It was spotless.  The food was brilliant and the staff were always pleasant. The entertainment that was on at the Hotel was really good and the entertainment team were fantastic with the kids. The only downside was there were not enough sunbeds although this has not put us off wanting to book for next year. We really think that this should be classed as a 4 Star hotel. We met some lovely people. The beach was small but beautiful. There is a path that goes along the small cliffs right around the resort which is well worth a look.  

What more can we say except that we can't wait until next year!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Our second visit to the America only this time was during school holidays. The hotel has been refurbished and all rooms now have air conditioning. The food was excellent so long as your not one of the pie n'mash brigade. The hotel offers very good value and this coupled with the quiet resort can offer a good holiday for the family with younger children or couples outside of the school holiday period.

Our holiday was marred by the sheer number of older teenagers at the hotel this year who hung around in large gangs. Although it has to be said that most of the kids there were well behaved and well mannered, there was a sizeable minority who appeared to have been abandoned by their parents on arrival and who were abusive to the staff, vandalised some areas of the hotel, set off fire extinguishers, went shoplifting up the town and then came back to the hotel to sell on their stolen wares, wrote graffiti on the walls and intimidated other guests. 

I would highly recommend the America and I will be going again but never again in August.

We read the good reviews on this site for this hotel ...... but be aware when booking this.  It belongs to a large group called Hoteles Globales and with only 5 days notice (we booked 5 months earlier), they told us it was overbooked and there were no rooms for us.  Not an isolated incident we found out.  They did offer us an upgrade to a 4* on a completeley different part of the island - Hotel Cala Vinas in Cala Vinas, which to be fair, turned out to be excellent, but I think it is only right to make any readers aware of the unfair practice this company operates.  We were lucky - others may not be so.

Just returned from a great holiday at the america. We have travelling to the Balaerics many times in the last 15 years, and have been on all inclusives for the past 5 years. This hotel ticked almost all the boxes.
Food - Breakfast 0800 to 1000, take your pick of full english, cereals just help yourself. Missed breakfast, no problem, poolside burgers - hot dogs- bags of chips- or help yourself to salad with sardines - cheese- ham - cakes.
Lunch 1300 - hot and cold meals good selection, all the meat I had there was tender lean and full of flavour
Dinner 1800 to 2100 - as above, with carvery each night! Barbecue also available in lower garden till 2100. Drink was lovely too, one drawback could be the queue but we went peak season so could hardly complain.
Entertainment -  standard fare -bingo, "professional" shows, plenty of activities during day so you can be involved or relax by one of the 2 pools.
Hygiene- the hotel is spotless, they clean continuous and the pool is done each morning too.

hotel very good and the staff were really polite and helpfull in every way. rooms clean with a maid service neally every day,all rooms have a wonderfull sea view.bit of a long transfer from the airport it took about an hour and a quarter with one other stop.food was good but towards the end of the week it got a bit repetative,but there was always a choice to eat.you could get snacks of burgers,chips and hot dogs all day from the swimming pool bar which also served ice cream for the kids and any drink you wanted be hot or cold.there was also a pizza bar where you could get pizza,pasta and pastries for lunch.fantastic beach down a few steps from the hotel very shallow you can walk out quiet a way.

evening entertainment ok mini disco for the kids then all the usual,bingo and dancing shows.town was only 5mins walk from the hotel which had an english speaking doctor,pharmacy and plenty of supermarkets and bars.loads of trips but most of them were over an hour coach trip away.great hotel for families,excellant position,would go again.

Arrived at Hotel America and was very impressed.  We could not have asked for a better room, it was superb.  A separate bedroom for the girls - ideal.  99% of the rooms have either a pool or sea view.  Fortunately we had both and the scenery was spectacular.  Fresh towels supplied daily and the rooms cleaned to a good standard.  Air conditioning is a god-send.

There are three pools, (1 baby) and two large pools, however the depth goes from 1.6 to  2.7 metres very quickly so beware!  Lifeguard on duty but he was more intent on reading his book!!!

The beach is a two minute walk (via a series of steps and a steep hill, so not suitable for the unfit) from the hotel and although the resort is quiet, we found there to be more than enough to keep ourselves occupied. 

There was ample food to choose from, with something to suit everyone - even my children!  The restaurant is clean and the food is hot. There is a carvery most nights, and several themed nights (Italian, Mexican etc). Wine, water, fresh orange, apple and pineapple juice aplenty with every meal.  There is also a barbeque in the gardens each evening (obviously depending on weather conditions), however be prepared to wait because everything is cooked to order.

There is a pool bar serving most alcoholic drinks and Coca Cola soft drinks, from 10am till midnight. The staff were great, always attentive.  Great burgers and chips made fresh to order. (10am - 6pn) How this chef can cook so quickly is beyond me, but I can assure you they were the tastiest burgers this side of the Mississippi!    In the chilled cabinet at the pool bar you can make your own sandwiches with a variety of meats and salad items.  WARNING:  Do not miss out on the DOUGHNUTS, they are delicious!

There is a photographer at the pool side most days and she takes an assortment of photographs which you can view at the side of the pool at night time, with no obligation to buy.  You can then have them printed onto a mug (cost ?10).  Or alternatively have a collage done for the same price.  Superb quality and not to be missed.

There are activities held every days for both adults and kids alike.  Try your hand at archery, shooting - pistol and rifle, water polo, darts, boules and many more.  Great fun.   Do not miss the paella demonstration, fascinating to watch and even tastier to eat.

You can book through your tour operator day and evening excursions.  We went to Western Waterpark in Magaluf  and a great time was had by all.  Definitely don't miss the PIRATES show, also in Magaluf.  This was one of the best nights entertainment we have ever had on holiday with the girls.

There is a games room behind reception with INTERNET access (?1 for 10 minutes).  A LIFESAVER for parents (especially us) whose children cannot live without MSN!  There are also many games machines as well as their own bar. 

Entertainment every evening, starting the kids mini-disco, fortunately my girls have outgrown this!  Then the fun begins with BINGO in ..SIX.. yes I said 6 languages, this has to be heard to be believe!  Good prize money.  There is the usual Spanish entertainment, flamenco dancers, magicians, parrot show, karaoke, men versus woman.  All in all the entertainment was decent.

All in all a fantastic holiday, the girls met lots of friends, and I am sure will keep in touch through MSN for a long time to come.

Would we go back again?  Most definately!!!!!!

Hotel America was right by the sea with beautiful views.  

Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed and very smart bathroom.  The maid kept it very clean and we had clean towels every day which is unusual nowadays.  

This was the first time we have been all inclusive and it was nice to go to the bar and not get your money out! There was a large selection of food for breakfast lunch and dinner, some days better than others not the best I've ever eaten but acceptable for such a large number of guests.  There was a pizza/ salad bar open 12-12 which was handy if you felt peckish. At lunch time they also cooked burgers, chips and salads by the pool, which were nice and there was a barbequeue in the evening which we only tried once.  There were lots of activities you could join in through the day if you wanted like water polo, archery etc, we didn't!  

The entertainment at night was more set up for families and as we didnt have our children with us we didnt partake. The area has plenty of little shops selling knick knacks, clothes and nice leather shoes and bags etc.  There are various bars are favourite was the Rock Cola as it was the livliest and had tribute bands inc. Supremes, Four Tops, Bee Gees etc and did two drinks for the price of one all evening. There are also karaoke bars and an Irish pub which had an excellent rock/pop group on the Thursday.  The beach was lovely too it was a short walk downhill with plenty of sunbeds to hire. 

All in all we had a lovely stay. only complaint was you couldnt keep your room on the day you were leaving and they only gave you the curtousy room for 15 minutes! We had a night flight so it was a long day, the good thing was you could have all inclusive food and drink until you left if you wanted it.

Just got back from a great holiday at the Htl America.  Highly recommended with great food options available - something for everyone ranging from buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with a carvery every night.  You can also eat from the pool bar all day providing snacks like chips, burgers, hotdogs, salads, cakes etc. or try the Pizzeria which is open from 1200-2400. They also have a barbecue area in the garden. All the staff are very friendly and the bar staff keep you entertained in the lounge bar.

Rooms clean but basic with clean towels provided every day and air-conditioning at great plus with the heat.  Sunbeds locked up at night and opened at around 8.45 am.  They are in great demand around the pool areas but we found the garden area a bit more relaxed and not as crowded with more sunbeds but again you need to be there in the morning when they are unlocked.

Activites on throughout the day.  The entertainment at night is a bit basic but the team are friendly and work hard.

The resort is on the small side but has ample shops to browse.  You can travel anywhere in the island using the local buses which are very reasonable and stop outside the Hotel. 

This hotel should be rated 4 star and not 3 star. We plan to return again the this hotel sometime in the futre.

Just back from the Hotel America after having a great holiday. 

The food is plentiful from the various resturants and snack bars. You have to queue for drinks but the staff move you on as soon as possible, Adults 3 drinks, kids one drink at a time, as often as you like. The poolside bar serves burgers, chips etc as well as the drinks so it is busy but nothing to be bothered with. The pizzeria serves pizzas from noon till 12 as wellas other snacks etc. The main resturant kept myself and the kids well fed, always git a table without any hassle. The all inclusive part of the holiday was exceedingly well run.

The hotel is well looked after out room (709) was massive overlooked the sea and the snack bar but the doors were shut to keep the air conditioning working so heard nothing from the bar. Room was well cleaned with fresh sheets towels etc. Rest of the hotel was kept in very good order. The pools are excellent can be busy at times but you can move from one pool to the other isf you wish

 The entertainment for the kids was well run, there were far too many adults in the adults activities making it competitive rather than fun. Kids got 6 certificates each. Nightime entertainment was good, kids disco, bingo then show , same as many other hotels. The kids liked the activities and they were well run.

The beach is very shallow with a small incline in clear blue water and is very inviting, downside is no watersports from the beach due to it being too small for the watersports. Boats leave from the cliff taking you to Porto Cristo so well worth the 2 hour round trip. The resort is all combined round the rabbit warren square and caters for everyone who wants something different from the hotel, (if you want to)

The excursion places in the main center are cheaper than the tour operators and worth the money. went to both the auqaparks again, Aqualand is still better than wacky west and if arranged via the local excursions you get to play there longer.

SUNBEDS. They are locked up until approx 9am, if you go on holiday to queue for a sunbed then enough said. We used to stroll down at 10.30 and always got at least two sunbeds or used the seats that are plentiful . The terrace has piles of spare ones that no one uses becuase they are dirty and last years models. Poolside locations are all taken by approx 9.05am we used to watch everyone from the room window beavering away like ants to get the best loction or same location every day.

You are on holiday relax and make the most of it, this hotel definitely caters for all your needs and is well recomended

Excellent hotel should be a 4star, lovely sea and pool view all rooms have a sea view,sunbeds are a nightmare as some people reserve the beds on the balcony at 3am in the morning, bar tends to get busy late afternoon so you are queing for about 5minutes before being served.lots of places to sit and chill in the hotel when you want to get away from the sun as was very very hot! in july.there is a few bars and shops and restaurants up the road about a 5min walk this is where we would go most evenings for a little drink as entertainment at hotel was not that good.beach is lovely clear blue sea you could swim right out and was safe to do so too as was only a small beach.my son enjoyed every bit of this holiday as he met alot of lads his age.If you love sea, sun and sand this is the place to go.

Absolutely wonderful you cannot fault this Hotel in any way. The staff were always polite and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with clean towels when required
The food was really good with plenty of variation. The only downside is queuing for sun beds in the morning. Entertainment is fine but a bit boring for a teenager, but then what isn't!!. If you have an early morning flight ask for a packed breakfast the night before and it will be at reception for you when you check out, we didn't realise this until we saw everyone else with theirs

All in all a delightful holiday

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We booked this hotel only 4 weeks before departure at a bargain price so we were a bit unsure of what to expect.  However, it was brilliant.  The hotel is very clean and every room has a fantastic sea view.  There were 3 swimming pools catering for every one.  The entertainment was quite basic although the team cannot be faulted for their efforts and always encouraged the children to join in the daily activities.  The night time entertainment was average.  Food in the hotel was great with plently of choice for both children and adults including a carvery in the dining room every night - you could also dine in the pizzeria, the snack bar by the pool or sample the BBQ! Fans of the traditional british brekkie will not be dissapointed either.

The resort was small but ample and there is a coastal path from below the gardens round to the town which is very pleasant on an evening.

On the down side - be prepared for the lengthy bus journey from the airport (ours was 1hr 45mins with only one other drop).  Ignore earlier advice on this site regarding sun beds - we found that they were in short supply and there was a mad scramble for them at 8.30am when they were unlocked.

All in all we had a great week and would recommend this hotel to any other family.

just got back from a really good weeks holiday, hotel is spotless only thing that lets the hotel down is the evening entertainment,entertainment staff work really hard ,just need a bit more variety,apart from that you cantfault the  hotel .all staff really friendly ,we had a small problem with our room which was sorted in minutes by frindly +competent staff .wonderful views from room ,we will definatley go back

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We only have two complaints about this hotel, 

1 - we arrived at 3am, after a 50min ride from the airport there was nothing avalable in the hotel for a drink ,-tea or coffee  or for something to eat, maybe a welcome pack could be given to people arriving after the bar shuts at 2-30am if only a sandwhich or two and some juice for the kids.  

2 - they had varied  entertanment for adults and children but the mini disco every night at 8pm was the same music every night , after five days of hearing bob the builder it can get a bit much. bingo every night in five or six differant languages was a bit of a laugh and they put on some good shows from 10pm til 11.. try not to go in the lounge bar at night time if you are a none smoker, but you can sit outside if you want..  

the hotel is very clean, the staff are very friendly ,i don't know how they can keep going for so long, the food was fantastic, great choice of meals.( sun beds ) these are chained up at night for safty and they unlock them at the same time every morning 8-45  and watch the rush, had a very good holiday at this hotel and would definatley go again. i think it should be a four star not a three star hotel   ( Tidy ) as we say in wales,

The hotel is great and the food was really good. We couldn't fault it and finding a deal to suit 9 people isn't easy ! The entertainment is not brilliant but the team try hard and it aws as good as anywhere else we have stayed in Majorca, The resort is small and quiet and the beach and coast is beautiful. We will be back as soon as we can and recommend this to all , it was really good value for money , You will not be dissappointed at all !

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We enjoyed our holiday to the Hotel America, the hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. Every room seems to have a fabulous sea view and our balcony got sun most of the day, it was lovely. The food is all-inclusive and was certainly repetitive and boring after a couple of days so we started to eat out, but food is so reasonably priced we didn't mind. Must recommend the Pirates Show as an excursion but not for people with very small children or babies as it's exceedingly loud and a very late night. The local bus to Porto Cristo is well worth it for a pleasant afternoon.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Just come back from this Hotel this was our first holiday abroad as a family the kids ages are 16,10 and 8. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting a spotless hotel, fantastic food, friendly staff, gorgeous views, lovely beach, local shops and bars.  All in all this hotel is practically perfect.  Even the entertainment was first class.  We had one day of bad weather, but braved the local buses and went sight seeing only 2 euros return to Porto Cristo very reasonable.  Can't fault Direct Holidays who we booked through at all. Would recommend Marineland the dolphin show was amazing but be prepared to queue for good seats.  

We will definitely be going back but next time for two weeks!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The views were incredible, nearly all rooms have a sea view, and the hotel was spotlessly clean.
There was a varied choice of food in the main restaurant, plus a pizzeria by the pool, and plenty of sunbeds, with two pools to choose from plus a childrens pool.  The beach was only down a few steps and had two fabulous coves to choose from.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The thing we liked most was that there was no need to be down at the crack of dawn to guarantee a sunbed, but it was quieter when we went, so I don't know what it'll be like in the height of summer.

We will definately be going back again.

we have just returned from a week at the hotel america. it was absolutley brill. 

the weather was great. very hot. the hotel was excellent, it was very clean, the food was brilliant, many choices everyday. staff were always very friendly. wish we had booked a fortnight. we had a/c all day everyday at no extra cost.which was a godsend. the resort is not  over commercialised (yet) so it was relaxing. the shops are like a small maze. it took us 2 days to find the same shop again.there are quite a few bars/cafes. there are lovely cliff walks all around the area. the boat trips are very good also. glass bottom boats.cats etc. the busstop is right outside the hotel  but be patient the buses are normally late but turn up eventually. they go all over the island and are reasonably priced. 

all in all we would highly recommend the hotel america and are looking forward to going back next year.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Just returned from fantastic week at Hotel America.  Hotel is lovely, very clean and well kept (refurbished 2005).  Food in restaurant was excellent, plenty of choice at every meal and all tastes catered for (even a very fussy 4 year old ate from seperate kids buffet).  Pizza restaurant was great for snacks too. 

Kids are well catered for with loads of activities during the day and "mini disco" at night.  The resort was quiet when we stayed and there were a few things not yet open but enough choice. 

Pay a visit to Central bar which is situated right in the centre of the resort with a small childrens play park right in front - a godsend if you want a quite drink childfree.  Manuel the owner is so friendly and welcoming, they have a large choice of well known drinks and show sports etc.

The beach is very clean and the sea is lovely and clear.  Sea can be rough at times but exciting for confident children.

If you wish to explore the island, bus stop is right outside the hotel.  Word of warning, Inca is a great market but it takes an hour on the bus to get there through an abundance of small villages.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

First Choice cancelled our original booking with just 2 weeks notice so we had to change resort and hotels. After reading good reviews we decided to book with the Hotel America. We found the hotel to be in an excellent position, overlooking the sea ( we were on the 7th floor)all rooms overlook the sea and the views were fantastic and we couldn't have asked for more.The only slight concern we had was with the food, very repetative and lots of veal!! No fizzy drinks in the restaurant so we had to carry our drinks to the restaurant from the bar. not a major problem but most hotels seem to have fizzy drinks available in restaurant.

The beach is close by ( down a few steps) and the water very warm and clear.I even ventured in as it looked so inviting and i NEVER swim in the sea! 

All in all this was a lovely holiday

I am disguted! Not by the hotel but by Direct holidays.
We booked our holiday 11 months in advance and had done some extensive research to get our booking just right as we were a party of 8.
On arrival at the hotel our expectations were met,however we were only there for two hours (after long and sometimes very heated discussions with holiday reps and hotel staff)due to someones incompetence (no-one wanted the blame)we found that we had been double booked and had to leave.
We moved twice in 2 days as the alternative accomodation offered was unsuitable.

We will never use direct holidys again

I am gutted that we never got to stay at the hotel America as we had numerous conversations with other families that were there, as we were finally placed in a hotel just 100yds away

After reading all the comments about this hotel on this website we were really looking forward to our holiday, 

the hotel itself is very pleasant and in an ideal position next to the beach, the beach is very nice and there are some nice walks along the headland ,all the rooms and areas were kept clean etc, the food was good, but the entertainment was not very good, the other negative thing that lets this hotel down is security, unfortunately for us while we there we and another couple had items stolen from our rooms, and we also heard about another couple that had had a bag stolen by the pool area, the hotel did need not seem to be particulary bothered when I reported it and and were not very helpful with us, 

so on this basis I would not recommend this hotel to anyone which is a shame because it probably has got some good points.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

This hotel is wonderful.  The food is great (my daughter who is 5 can be some what fussy but there was always something which she liked on offer)contrary to other views I found on this website!. The hotel staff are lovely and extremely child friendly especially the reception staff, who were really lovely to us when our bags didn't arrive for three days (fault of Thomas Cook).  

The hotel is spotless and there is always someone cleaning somewhere.  Our room (728) had a lovely seaview and fresh towels everyday. The maid kept the room clean and ant free (we had a few on holiday there when we arrived) for the two weeks we were there. The childrens pool could of been a bit bigger as the two other pools were overcrowded in the shallow parts with teenagers playing ball etc. I won't go there on the sunbeds except to say be prepared to get up early to get one!  The hotel was fully booked when we were there but we never had a problem getting a table in the restaurant or getting drinks from the bar.  The beach is nice and clean and has a lifeguard most of the time. It does operate a flag system as well. The entertainment is ok with the staff working hard - Mara, Eric Enrique, Eloudie and Wille had things on the go for kids and adults all day and did the mini disco, bingo and shows in the evening.  By the way Eric is the spit of Will Smith and Enrique is gorgeous.

All in all we had a fabulous time at this hotel and would definately stay there again.  One last note:  The Thomson Rep Lorraine is fabulous and was always at her desk and really helpful (we booked through Thomas Cook and weren't so lucky).

My/Our Holiday Opinion: my wife and i spent 2 weeks at the hotel america . food was good plenty of choices , bar staff very friendly , plenty of room around the pool we never ventured to the beach as it is on a bit of a hill . shops in the area are very sparse not a lot to do outside hotel , we picked this hotel because we were told it had an adult bar only . ( we do like to get away from the kiddies in the evening ) but dont be caught out the " adult bar " is full with kiddies . we did visit porto cristo which was nice & the caves are good . if you like lazing around the hotel all day this is your sort of holiday . 

we had lovely weather but we wont be going here again , we were very much mislead . one final point if you are smokers like us you have to smoke outside the hotel because as i have already said the so called adult bar is the only smoking area and you wont find an empty seat .

Me my dad my mam and my little sister stayed at hotel amerca for a foufgt night, we havnt got any complaints or anything.
When we arrived it was so miserable, it was wet cold and we felt like we were still in England! but that weather changed, after a few days the temperature reached over 30!
There were 3 pools, a small one for little kids that only probly would only reach their waists, The two other pools were a great size purfect for doing leangths or just lounging on a lilo.
the food was great, they had almost every thing everyday. they also had a snack bar that was open till 12 and perfect if you had the munchies.
the hotel was right on the beach ond only 2 mins away from the town. Most of the staff and manager were always friendly but im not saying any names on the ones that were not that friendly.

Me and my family enjoyed this holiday and hope to go back there again.xxx

I have just come back from a week in Calla de majorca and stayed in the hotel America.

The food was ok but bit cold n i tel u now dont go in october its quiet the bars ar mostly closed around the resort is ded and the bbqs on the grass dnt even exist.

Apart from tht the hotel ws clean the entertainment ws great and the rooms are of a good size and have great facilities the. The pool area is pretty big only they clean the area around your feet at like 10 oclock which is stupid i thought.

Overall a good holiday and it only rained for 3 hours. Also i'd like to say ERIC will u marry me (entertainer god he is sooooooooo fine and a credit to the hotel.)

A lovely hotel. Beatiful view, lovely food, helpful staff,good location. Can't fault the hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, all over lookt he sea, a night the moon on the sea is magnificent. The beach is 2 mins walk and the bars just 5 mins. You can get the bus outside the hotel and go all over the island. Great holiday

We arrived at the Hotel America and were pleased to see that they had updated the rooms and the pool area which is a great bonus although the down side was that the Hotels facilites were very limited due to the time we went which was the begining of October.

I would also like to add that the food was not what we had anticipated and we ate out on two occasions which fo some one who likes to try anything and is not a fussy eater  this had to be bad.
Usually the food in this Hotel for all inclusive is good so i think this was also down to the time we went.
If we go again we will go earlier.

The location to this Hotel is perfect and would be ideal for familys with children under School age and retired couples as it is a quiet resort with everything Hotel based if you drive it is well worth hiring a car although there is a bus stop outside the Hotels into Palma ect.

When I booked to go to this hotel I had read all the reviews and researched it thoroughly.

I travelled with my partner and our three children aged 12, 15 and 16.

We stayed at the Hotel America for 2 weeks on an all-inclusive basis.

The hotel description from the tour operator stated that the hotel was 'action packed and whilst the kids would be kept busy with all the amenities the hotel had to offer, the adults would be able to relax and unwined'.

Well what a dissapointment we encountered when we were holidaying there.

The entertainment staff consisted of two people, and it was sparce.
