My/Our Holiday Opinion:

After reading other reviews and dreading the Riomar we were plesantly suprised.

Although we booked a studio we were given a 1 bedroomed apartment which had plenty of space and was light, airy and clean. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. We didn't eat there as we had been told it wasn't very good so I really can't say but the bus was very cheap and ran often into Alcudia town (parts of which were nice but mostly like Blackpool with sun!)and there were plenty of places to eat there as well as on the main drag.

The beach at Muro was the best I've ever been to although you do have to get there early to bag a sunbed but the clean sand and lovely warm shallow waters were beautiful.I've never swam in such a clean sea!
To say this was a last minute cheapie 2nd holiday we were more than happy with what we got, there were no throbbing disco's but plenty of lively bars.Although we don't have kids there looked plenty for them to do.The only gripe is the amount of noise from the corridors, day and night. With it being tiled you heard absolutly everything, especially the noisy bint in heels who clattered past in the early hours!!!

On the whole we enjoyed it and although I wouldn't want to spend 2 weeks there as I don't think there would be enough to do I would reccommend it to older couples and families alike.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

first of all i must emphasise that this hotel is NOT in alcudia but in fact a small resort called playa de muro. the brouchere by thomson misleads people who think they are coming to a lively place when in fact it is quite the opposite! we never found one music themed bar in our time their and therefore we bussed it to c,an, picafort or alcudia every night.only 1 euro 30 to them both and 8  euros in taxi back late at night when buses finished at 10.30 ish. nothing wrong with the beach at plya de muro though, only 200mts from hotel    which is lovely!

during our stay their we NEVER SAW A THOMSON REP. in fact they never even came on the coach to and from the airport and instead left it all to an hardworking driver! we had ants in our room one morning and had to get someone in to get rid of them. none of this review is an exaggeration and suffice to say will not be going to PLAYA DE MURO (not alcudia) AGAIN!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

After reading the reviews before we left i was dreading it.The resort was nice, the beach was brilliant for the kids, they can go out quite a way before it gets too deep.Sunbeds & parasol only 9 euros all day.The restaurants that we used were pepe,s & ole the pizzerie, they do fantastic lamb.

The apartments were fine, we had a 1 bedroom which was plenty big enough. The balconies on the third floor were the biggest, as they were the length of lounge and bedroom, the others were only the width of lounge. The staff on the reception were brilliant with any problems or info you needed on places to go.We had a few ants but nothing major.

Now for the bad bit "THOMSON".They were absolute rubbish. The rep was ther about twice the whole holiday, if you managed to catch them.We hired a car when we booked the holiday for 3 days, but extended it before we left for7. We waited in reception for 2 hours for the car, even with 2 phone calls to Thomson. Eventually eurocar came to pick us up to go and get our car, but when we said it was for 7 days, they needed a voucher for the extra 4 days.We phoned Thomson to ask them to fax a voucher for the extra 4 days, no problem they said, but on day 6 the reception said eurocar had been on the phone demanding our car keys back, as they had,nt recieved the voucher.

We had no welcome meeting & their excursions are over priced, one example the western encounter, a wooden train ride through the mountains to Soller. We drove to Sa Pobla (10 mins) to get the train to Palma, where you get the wooden train, that cost just under 15 euros return for all 3 of us.The train to Soller was 14 euro a adult, 7 for a child. It cost us approx 5o euros, with Thomson 158.90 euros, so if you want days out hire a car and do it yourself, it pays for the car twice over.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Having read previous previews on the Rio Mar we were all looking forward to our eleven night holiday.

The resort itself was nothing startling, we spent a small fortune on taxis and buses to take us in to Alcudia and Can Picafort - Port of Alcudia was really nice with a lovely beach front and harbour.  The apartments also were nothing startling, we arrived in the middle of the night and the first impression of the reception area was that it was a bit dated and needed to be more inviting, it did do the job though - the resident cat lying over the furniture was really off putting!!!

The actual room was basic but again done the job for a self-catering holiday (no microwave).   The bathroom and the bedroom were a fine size but the main living area was too small and it was s struggle to open the apartment door when all four were at the kitchen table, when finished at the table you had to push it back against the wall for more room.   I had a daily battle with ants crawling across the draining board and one morning we had an ants' army going from the indoor bin to the front door.

The actual pool are was very nice but not for die-hard sun worshippers, this is because there are so many mature trees casting a shadow at varying times in the day, you would have to be prepared to move sun-beds throughout the day.   We were very surpirsed at the amount of foreign tongues as we believed that this was a Thomsons complex apart from one floor.   Entertainment, notices etc were addressed in German first and then Engligh, we were definately in the minority.

Entertainment was rather basic and not very structured, our 10 year old was happy enough as there were three computers in the reception with MSN on them, one euro for 10mins.  We only saw a Thomsons' rep by chance, there didn't seem to be a welcoming party or pamphlet, she only took an interest when we said we wanted to buy tickets for the Hydropark.   The Hydropark was a good day out, it wasn't the largest of parks and may not be for the more daring as the slides weren't too challenging - suited our age groups. There was a really delicious Chinese Restaurant called the Peking Duck (up stairs)and a good Italians/Pizzeria called Roma a few bus stops away.

Overall the resort of Play de Muro and the Rio Mar Apts were just okay, would have prefered to have been in Port of Alcudia.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Lovely hotel close to shops and across the road from beaufiful beach, hotel very clean, staff friendly, food could have done with improvement seemed to be the same every day, we seemed to be the only english it was full of germans and spanish but apart from them putting towels on sunbeds al day (which we chucked off after they disapeared for hours) they were ok. Hire a car from the airport if you can a lot cheaper, if you like snorkling formentor beach small but loads of different fish to see.

We booked with thomson but didnt see a rep the whole time we were there so we booked our trips out with another rep, if you get the chance you must go see the pirates show sounds a lot of money but it is a must for all ages and the food is good as much as you can eat and as much wine and sangria as you can drink the show is amazing. El arenal waterpark was good take apicnic if you can food expensive and long queues.

Happy holidays

We were so looking forward to our holiday stay at the rio mar hotel.we did what your doing now reading all the reviews.and thought great reviews thats the place for us.What a let down our appartment was teaming with ants.all over the work tops in our clothing ect.

And as for the entertainment what entertainment nothing more than face painting for the kids. And bingo only for adults.I spoken to the entertainers about about the lack of entertainment. They agreed with me.And blamed the management. They stated the the management will  NOT   provide  any more entertainment than they already do.Because of costings ? Things were that poor we spoke to our rep asked for a hotel transfure. Not a chance was her reply .We were outraged by the whole thing. And felt very let down with the great reviews we had read. Our holiday was for 2 weeks we came home after only staying there for 1 week.My review is that of a honest one and therefore i trust you will show this very unhappy family review.

This was our first family holiday and we couldnt have picked a better place, the apartments are spotless and have everything you need, the maids seem to come every day and change towels and bedding.

Although it was quiet around the pool and in the bar, the kids entertainer tried their best to entertain, and evenings we had bingo and a quiz, ponys visit the apartments so kids can go for a ride for 3 euros, staff friendly and very helpfull, i would advise anyone to stay there, beech just across the main road, night life 10 mins away, we were ask to leave the apartments on our last day even though we had paid £30 extra to keep the room til 6 as they wanted to close the hotel early, they then explained to us we can move to a hotel down the road and have all inclusive all day and have a room til 10, lovely!!!!! couldnt complain about that, forget the george and dragon, try the chocolate fudge cake at martins, its down behind the big perfume shop, meals in all restaurants are very reasonable

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We have just come back from an absolutely brilliant 2 weeks at Rio Mar. The accommodation is basic but is big enough for family of 4 (we had a 1 bed apt). The cleaners came so many times and the beds were changed regularly. The air-conditioning was a godsend and we had it on for nearly all the holiday. Also a tv in the room, some spanish channels but also news chanel which was something to have on if you were in the room.

The entertainment day & night was fabulous, The entertainment team, especially Alvero & Michael, were brilliant with the kids and they worked so hard to make the evening entertainment really special. There was entertainment every night and when the team weren't doing it there were other act such as a Lionel Ritchie tribute act, a magic show, tribute to the Four Tops and African & Kenyan dancers. We really enjoyed it all. The entertainment team were around in the day, rounding kids & adults up for games such as pool, darts, skittles and lots more.

The rep Emma was really good as were Scouse & Kristen who did the kids club in a morning. My 7yr old really enjoyed going. The pool is really clean. Did find it a bit of a squeeze some days as lots of people would go down for half an hour and leave their towels on the sunbeds for the afternoon so no-one could sit on them.
As you come out of the apartments, on the corner is a bank with a cash machine which is really handy. Found that most shops along the road where the Rio Mar was, preferred for you to pay in cash.
Loads of places to eat, went to the George & Dragon most days but also ate in the Slow Boat (chinese) and the Rose & Crown. All really good value for money.
We went on excursions to Marineland & Pirates which were really good. If booking for Pirates go for seating in the quarterdeck. If you don't you have to sit up on the balcony and is very hard to see if you are at he back, especially for kids.

We hired a car for 3 days and went down to Porto Cristo to the Caves of Drac. Worked out much cheaper doing it this way as only 8 euros pp and under 7's go free, another really good place to see.
The only criticism of how it was described was that, 'it is over a main road to the beach'. This is true and the road was very easy to cross, loads of zebra crossings. But across the road is another row of hotels before you get to the beach, so no sea view as we expected. Although this was disappointing the beach is 2 minutes away and is really beautiful. The kids can go out in the sea and it is really shallow for quite a distance.

All in all, a fantastic holiday and I would recommend the Rio Mar for a good holiday.

We had a fabulous holiday at the Rio Mar. Had read negative comments on this site and was really worried before I went, but I need not have bothered as the Hotel was great.

Very clean, cleaners in every day, entertainment was brilliant, Hector and Jo are great with the kids. The Hotel had 3 really great shows on while we were there and also did bingo every night which my son really enjoyed.  Do not buy anything from the supermarket next to hotel as this is a real rip off go to one in the main street. Food in hotel was ok but for a great meal go to Martins an English pub, food is fab and so are prices. The hotel pool is nice and clean and safe and the beach is beautiful and only 5 mins away. The local bus service is really good and only 1 euro to go all over the Island.

We had a great holiday and would definitely go back again.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We got this holiday as a last minute.  We were looking for a relaxing holiday and fun for our 4 year old.  It was indeed an excellent holiday.  The room was fine, perhaps quite small, but very clean and maids in every 2nd day, no beasties!!  The pool was safe, and full of kiddies which was great for the wee one.  Indeed the beach was beautiful and very sandy.  We mainly went there.

We felt the kids club was very quiet and felt bad putting our daughter in there.  They should have rounded them up by the pool area.  Entertainment was great, Jo was really fab, and he was so good with the kids. Hector was great too. Jo left on our second week and the entertainment really went downhill.  So we tended to go out of the hotel at nights.  Think this was because it was near the end of the season.
The supermarkets are really expensive, a real rip off.
Some of the visitors clearly had no respect for other guests.  Late at night, people slamming doors, shouting etc, which is nice.

All in all, we were really happy with our holiday, and our daughter really enjoyed it too.  I can imagine it being very busy and noisy peak season though, we went first two weeks in September.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

The Hotel was very clean (no cockroaches as in previous reveiws).

If you have young children don't get a room overlooking the pool as this is where the entertainment goes on till 12 midnight.

The first week there where lots and lots of childres jumping and messing around in pool which you would expect but i didnt go in as didnt want to risk getting jumped on by the kids jumping in,therefore we went to the beach across the road, 7 euros for two sunbeds.

If you are a young and are wanting a bit of night life past 12 then this immediate area is not for you, everywhere in the immediate area closes at 12, the pubs/night clubs that didnt close till later where in the main town which is a 45 minute brisk walk or a taxi ride costing 7 euros ask for belle vue strip.

Most of the pubs in local area didnt have any entertainment, on last day of leaving we heard someone say they had visited other hotels across the way for their entertainment as it was a lot better than the entertainment at the Rio Mar, dont get me wrong the entertainment was great if you have kids, they have the mini discos, bingo and shows.  Mainly aimed at kids.

If self catering the hotel has the same ammenities as other hotels eg toaster, kettle 2 rings fridge.  However we went half board the staff where really freindly, breakfast  and evening meals where buffet style so you could choose what you wanted. The evening meals where ok, but we heard other people say that the selection wasnt very good and they wouldn't class as a 3 star, however I have never been in any other 3 star hotels half board so would not know what to compare this to.

Hope the above helps.

We stay in the rio mar every year and never fail to be pleased. We know all the staff very well and enjoy going to the hotel. How ever since the tour operators have made it an english only hotel we have been slightly put off by a new ROWDY lot of unrespecting people. The people are bad mouthed and make our stay quite unenjoyable, next year we are going to sadly change our hotel.

Good food served during the day at the bar, but we ate out in the evening and came back in time for the entertainment (which was a good laugh)..the beach is 5 mins walk away and perfectly safe for youngsters.
Plenty of restaurants and bars down the road, but all with similar menus!!!!
All in all a great 2 weeks for families

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

...Well here is a truly honest opinion of this hotel. We arrived in July 2004 at Riomar at 5am. To eager to look around we decided to stay awake till breakfast time.

This hotel is very well catered for FAMILIES ONLY. All staff made every effort, especially the maids who were so so friendly. The hotel was clean though we had this horrible sewage type smell that was coming from the factories which were near the marshes overlooking our balcony!! Be warned - this smell happened mainly at nightime we DID complain but the hotel was too full to move us elsewhere.

The beach is FANTASTIC - its absolutely gorgeous - only 3 minutes walk from the hotel, however they did not have the banana boats at that part of the beach so don't get excited thinking they would like I did!

The bars and restaurants near Riomar are VERY quiet and we tended to stay in an english bar called the George and Dragon mainly. I recommend that you get on the bus for 1 euro to alcudia town centre its not that far about 10 minutes away and it is all happening there - thats where it is lively WITH LOTS OF ENTERTAINMENT.

I would also warn you about the old man on reception was so trict and one night he even threw us out of reception and told us to go to bed! Even though there is no rule about having to leave reception at a certain time! Only that you have to move inside at midnight when the entertainment finishes so I suppose anyone that has been or is going to this hotel will surely recognise this grumpy fella - he tended to hover aroud reception shouting -
"Go to bed, people are sleeping" and
"You go to bed when you have finshed that game of pool!"

I was shocked that we were being told what to do on holiday and he even told two women that were having a quiet drink downstairs to do the same! Ever since then I haven't stopped laughing because another review on this hotel mentions him!!

Overall, apart from the grumpy reception man and the smell we had a lovely holiday.

Our Thompson rep was called Annie and we found here lovely, she was so down to earth and very pleasant to speak to. The hotel food from the snack bar was nice, though I only tended to each the chip butty's!

I do agree with everyone about this pool being too shaded - but it is ideal for kids.
Be careful of the insects there, mainly dragon flies and mozquitos not seen any cockroaches though so don't worry!

I finally want to add that this hotel is NOT MADE FOR COUPLES IT IS VERY FAMILY ORIENTATED.

Believe me, me and Rob are a couple and I am being honest with you. Also the night entertainment at hotel is FABULOUS the entertainers made such a good effort - not to keen on the bingo though!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

What a brilliant holiday! I've used this site a few times to check hotels, but never felt the urge to write a review - here goes!

We found everyone at this hotel so helpful - from the chambermaids to management. Our apartment was spotless, and cleaned regularly, and the towels and beds were changed every 2-3 days. We were on the third floor, with a double size balcony, which overlooked the pool area. Although I'm not a "pool person", I have to say that the whole pool area was kept immaculate - the cleaners were out every morning sweeping up after the lazy people who coudn't use a bin etc.

We were half board, and the meals were great. Gabriela, in the dining room, was so pleasant, as were all the staff. There was always a great choice of meals.

As mentioned in other reviews, the entertainment staff were superb! Hector, Jo, and Mayte never stopped working, although they really enjoyed their jobs. It showed!! There was no "false smile" to greet people, and they remembered all the children's ( & adult's!) names, which is a big plus especially for the little kids. Also - the cocktail games, such as Killer darts, killer pool, french boules etc. were a lot of fun, and broke the terrible monotony of having to lie in the sun!!! Everyone was up for a laugh, and make fools of themselves, because the team made it fun! They never seemed to stop - boundless energy, and enthusiasm.

There were activities arranged for everyday - I'd never in my life shot a rifle, a pistol, nor used a bow and arrow - I have now!!! One point to watch - once Jo or Hector gets your name for the activities, you're hooked!! Absolutely brilliant!

As for the reps - well - ours was a waste of time! Our welcome meeting consisted of around 8 of us sitting in reception ( her excuse was that it wasn't worth going outside, and her doing the whole presentation!) - and her asking if we had any questions!! We met other reps throughout the holiday, but the star rep had to be the Welsh lad, Matthew. He was so nice! He joined in the activities - took a ribbing like the rest of us, and invariably ended up getting thrown in the pool! He got his own back though - Jo got a few soakings too!

The shows at night were good fun too - especially the ones the reps out on themselves such as Good Rockin' and The Blues Brothers. I don't know how they got time to rehearse!
All in all, a brilliant holiday.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

This holiday was fantastic.

It was a last minute deal the first one we had done and if this is what we got we will definitely do it again. The hotel was great although the rooms could do with being refurbished. We had 2 rooms for the 4 of us which was good as it probably would have been a bit cramped for 4 adults but they were opposite each other which was handy. There was free air conditioning which could be turned on when you put the key in the slot. In 1 room it was faulty so we could have it on without using the key which meant we could have it on when we were out so the room was nice and cool when we got back. The TV in 1 room didn't work and the balcony door wouldn't lock in the other but that was soon sorted out by the hotel without a fuss.

The entertainment team which consisted of Hector (chicken legs) Joe (the Chinese guy) and Mita were all superb and put their all into everything. They did games for kids and adults during the day which most of the time ended up with them being thrown in the pool (which was entertaining.) In the evening they had a mini disco for the kids and then bingo followed by the evening show which was a live act, quiz or a show put on by the entertainment team themselves. Every evening we saw was great.

We were half board so we got breakfast and evening meal which suited us as we all thought the food was excellent. You got a 3 course meal which was in a buffet style so you get as much as you wanted. The only down side was that we all probably put on weight.

We went on a couple of trips first was half the day at marineland and aqualand which was good because we had the right amount of time to do what we wanted at both parks and only had to travel once as it was an hour trip from the hotel and they were right next to each other. Then we went to western water park for the day which was great and you need a whole day there if you want to see the shows aswell as go on water rides.

The beach was lovely and was just over the road. There were bars and restaurants just down the road and if you wanted a change of scenery Can Picafort was just a 1 Euro each bus ride away.

This holiday was 1 of the best ever and would definitely consider going back. (Just hope the entertainment team are still there)

Just got back from 10 days at the Rio Mar Hotel in Allcudia.
After reading some of the reviews was a little concerned about having booked our holiday here!!

Apartment was very clean, the whole place was cleaned regularly, pelnty of clean towels and sheets changed twice.
Didnt eat in, so cant comment on food.
Pool area quite small, some shade, but the sun does come round all day, so no problem.
My girls loved the pool, bit noisy as lots of kids, but then it is a family hotel so cant really complain.
Entertainment ok, the team try hard!! My kids loved the bingo!! We had never played it before!!

Watch out for the mini markets, a right rip off!! If you hire a car go to a normal supermarket where locals shop!!

Eating out ok, the same type of food everywhere, could't seem to find any real spanish food!! Chips with everything!!

But on the whole, not a bad place for families, beach fantastic, clean and warm water!!

Just spent 1 week in this place, would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.Accommodation was of the very best we have had in Majorca, and we,ve stayed at some good apartments, entertainment was mostly geared for the kids ,but some good adult shows too ,Kool&The Gang was at this apartment one night, Absolutely great they were!A great place out to eat , the 1st restaurant next to the Bank on main road, cant remember its name, but food was excellent, and service.Try the local buses,VERY cheap and reliable, overcrowded, but they got you out and about to other resorts.

All in, it was a great week.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Accomodation comfortable and clean.Maids in daily and plenty towels supplied and changed every 2nd day.We stayed in a studio.Small but had toaster, kettle, teatowel and free air conditioning.Balcony overlooked car park and beyond that kids park which could be doing with upgrading.Quiet at nights bieng at back except for any late nighters who tend to be noisy echoing up corridor and doors slamming.

200 yards from a clean sandy beach.Supermarkets even nearer and plenty bars to choose from.Ate out every night, enjoyed all meals.
Local bus service 1Euro up and down length of Alcudia.Rio Mar situated in Playa de Muro inbetween Alcudia Pins and main resort of Alcudia. With Peurto Pollensa beyon that.

On the down side we found the thomsons kids reps awful. One was named Annie unsure of others.Never saw them during day to round up kids for fun and games.
No club mascot which my son loves. My son was 3 and I took him to club once only to be phoned to collect him after 5 mins.didnt want to stay.No wonder I wouldn't stay with these miserable reps either. No enthusiasm. In evenings local entertainers Hector and 2 girls(unsure if they were part of thomsons or not)done there best to keep adults and older kids entertained.A lot of scheduled entertainment cancelled or on very late due to Euro 2004!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Stayed at the Rio Mar in May 2004, the hotel was really good and kept very clean at all times. The entertainment was inside during our stay which we found to be a bit cramped. However the entertainment was very good. The pool was very nice but rather cool as it is shaded by palm trees. Staff were very friendly and efficient at all times.

The hotel was very near to a great beach just across a main road. We found the resort to be rather quiet compared to resorts nearer to Alcudia Port.

We found it difficult to find places to eat which were both good and within our budget, until we found a brill little place called Willy's where the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good at all times and plentiful. We found it best to avoid the 'British' pubs.

For entertainment, the highlight has to be our trip to Tropical Golf opposite the Belvue Appartments to see the Blues
Brothers tribute band who had been on BBC's Passport to the Sun.

The local transport is very cheap to use but beware the buses get very crowded especially on market days.

We would recommend a trip to Pollensa its a sleppy little village you have to climb the 365 steps which is a bit of a trek but well worth the veiw at the top and there is a little refresments area there as well which is very inviting on a hot day.

We found it very easy to get to the city of Palma which is well worth a visit on the buses the time tabels and prices are available from the tourist information centre at the Port of Alcudia.

All in all we had a great holiday and would love to visit Alcudia in the near future.

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

Stayed at the Rio Mar in Alcudia as part of a late deal package after our holiday to Orlando was cancelled by Hurricane Francis.

Overall the hotel isn't that bad.  It was clean and sufficed for the weeks holiday for what you needed it for although the airconditioning did make both me and my girlfriend bad.  Also be prepared to be awakened by the rude maids very early if your on the top floor near the lifts, oh and if your at the back of the hotel you'll be looking awoken by the bin men and will look out on a swamp for your stay.

The resort though is awful.  Its at the south end of Alcudia and although the beach is nice this is not the kind of place you want to go if you want to get away from it.  Everywhere you look its just full of english pubs selling english food watching english tv.  If it wasn't warm you might as well have been back in the UK.

If this is your cup of tea then you'll love it but if you like going on holiday to expericence something different, don't bother.  You can go to Florida or even the caribbean for the same price if you shop around.  Indeed this late deal cost us more than it did for our holiday to Orlando (£330 for a week).

One plus though is the beach is nice and the sea was calm and safe.  Be aware if you don't smoke though as smokers are everywhere even all over the beach so you'll be breathing in second smoke while getting a tan and walking over nub ends getting of the beach.

Oh, and food is dam expensive!!!  Definatly get bottled water from the supermarket!

My/Our Holiday Opinion:

We spent two weeks at the Rio Mar and really enjoyed it. As already stated by other review's, the rooms are well kept and clean. If you are planning on spending loads of time in the apartment cooking then you might struggle. The restaurants around are not much to write about....no typical spanish food to be seen and its chips , chips and a few more chips for good measure.

There was one lovely grill/restaurant just along the road and I can't remember it's name which is not much help...it had a straw roof and was on the corner opposite the local Guarda/police staion! We got a bus ( 1 euro each to go all over the place) to the marina at Puerto  Pollencia and that is a lovely place, very cosmopolitan and relaxing with  sea food resturants and decent food. The buses stop running around 8 p.m so either go early or get a taxi back .

The entertainment was good and the hotel team brilliant. It was  a shame the Thompson's tots club was not used: we booked the hotel for this reason but no  children went in. Still, there are all sorts of activities for kids and adults round the pool and the team don't pester you to take part.

we went to Pirates and found it a good show but over priced. Unless you are desperate to see it, spend your cash on something else. The meal was rubbish and the seating very squashed ( 8 of us on two small benches)and it was a long drive to get there.

Last thing, take some binoculars as the bird watching on the wetlands area at the back is worth it even if you are not interested in that sort of thing. There are turtles and all sorts of huge birds.
