My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Don't be put off by some of the bad reviews, this place is exactly what you pay for! Spent first two weeks of August in this large complex full of families from all over Britain with a small minority of Dutch,Italian German & French. The place is huge but there are seven or eight pools to chose from, it's the luck of the draw where you get put & therefore how big the pool will be!

We stayed at Minerva 1 on the groundfloor overlooking the canal & lake at the back, very peaceful & protected from the scorching afternoon sun, so made the room a little cooler. Be warned there is no air conditioning, but that goes for most places in Alcudia, they will never spend the money because it is not an all year round resort! We had a two bedroom apartment which was well equipped with kettle, toaster & microwave not that we ever cooked!! The maids changed the linen & towels 3 times a week, even took our rubbish out. The cleanliness could not be faulted, the pool was just a 'get out of bed walk' & me & the other half took turns to lay the towels out every morning that we spent at the pool. You did not have to get up at 6am but any later than 0830hrs you had no chance! A good time is 0730, for that inconvenience you can sit where you like.....no pain no gain, besides it is cooler sleeping on the sunbed than in the room in the morning!  Don't bother hiring or buying a fan you are wasting your money, just put up with it, afterall you have gone for the heat!

Like I said, lots of families round the pools, children play, that is what they are there for, whether it be lilos, volleyballs, squirt guns, they are having fun......if that puts you off then go to an adults only! With all the mix, north & south, English, Irish, Welsh or Scots I never saw a single argument between kids or adults, just family people on holiday having fun. A great atmosphere! Neither did I see gangs of teenagers roaming the complex of a night.
As for the entertainment......it is not as good as a Haven site in the UK but will appeal to the younger children up to the age of say 8 or 9.  We went self catering as always, would never do 'all inclusive' in the Med, as they don't know the meaning of the word, so no surprises to hear all the people on 'all inclusive' moaning about the queues at the restaurant for breakfast & dinner & bars, not to mention the quality of what you are served.  Use the Colber supermarket over the road from the complex, rather than the one on site, it's cheaper & they give a good genuine exchange rate, we got 1.45 to the pound for cash!

Eat out, Yummy's at the bottom end for good food to Lunas Grill at the top end for great ribs, steak or kebab with the best in entertainment! Check out the Four Tops & Kool & the Gang Tribute bands, very professional! Portafinos also a good meal at the top end!  Best all round restaurant (4 visits) has to be Bugs Bunny's or Pacos, friendly staff, especially Paco, great food at a good price! You will not find better!!  For a good cheap English breakfast try Woody Woodpeckers, 3 euros for 2 eggs, 2 bacon,sausage,beans,tomatoes,toast, butter,jam & a large glass of orange juice or tea or coffee if you prefer!

Don't bother with cheap chinese meals, remember you get what you pay for, the best Chinese is in the UK so don't settle for less, heard nothing but the word rip-off! Cheap meals mean expensive drinks, you get out for nowt! 
Beach is lovely, with plenty of space & clear blue sea. Try a boat trip out of the port area, can recommend 'Anacoana Katamaran' but get there early if you want a spot on the front netting!! 
Western Waterpark is fab for a day out & don't miss 'The Pirates Show', it's as good as anything you will ever see at Disneyworld, with a mainly Brit cast, not to be missed & if you are only visiting once, pay the extra for quarter deck seating, you will not be dissapointed.  I have it on good authority that the adult show is even better, maybe next time without the kids eh!!

I have not visited Majorca for 30 years & did not know what to expect this time.....to sum up, Alcudia is a fun resort for a good family holiday & the Belle Vue is a 'no frills' place to stay, you get what you pay for & this is not 5* but then you do not pay 5* so accept it for what it is 'Butlins Abroad' & enjoy yourselves as the sun costs nothing! Would I go back.......probably not, but that is only because there are many other places to visit, some will be better & some won't!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Fedra 2 apartments in the Bellevue complex. The apartment was clean well kept and had everything  you need for a holiday, fridge,kettle,toaster and a small 2 ring stove. Although this was ok for snacks and breakfast I would not advise trying to prepare a meal as there is not enough room.There is no air conditioning (which we knew ) so buy a fan as it is cheaper than hiring one, around 15 euros to buy.

Our room was on the 2nd floor and looked directly onto the grass and pool area which was beautiful,the area was always busy although you could use all of the pools in the complex ( 7 of them ) which my son did on a pool crawl. The resort of Alcudia and the Bellevue were very busy during our stay but there was always plenty to do. We played crazy golf on the complex 2.50 euros each,and hired pedal go carts which were great fun and cost around 3 euros for half an hour. There are lots of places to eat and drink and I would suggest that you just try them all as we did it was great fun.

My only dissapointment was the vast number of English bars and Fun pubs which were every where, I would like to have seen some more traditional spanish entertainment available.

On the plus side the beach and sea were fantastic if a bit windy when we were there, if you are going I am sure you will enjoy you holiday it is a fantastic resort with lots to do for all ages.

I would recommend that you visit Palma while you are on the Island, it is beautiful and we would like to have spent a few days exploring,we booked through no frills excursions and they were excellent and only speak english on their tours.We also visited the Hydropark which is around 20 mins to 30 mins walk from the Bellevue. It is very compact and great for kids of all ages.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just returned from the Bellevue after having a great 10 day holiday. We stayed in Fedra 2, on the opposite side from the pool, and it was lovely and quiet. No late night noise or disturbances.

The room was basic but clean and contained one single bed and a settee in the lounge area and two singles pushed together in the bedroom. We knew there was no air-conditioning before we arrived (which would have been great) but we did hire a fan from reception which helped a bit. On our first day the part that holds the shower head was broken and, after 1 phone call to reception, it was replaced within a couple of hours. The maid came every 2-3 days with fresh towels and the bedding was changed once but we could get fresh towels from the maid in between times if we wanted. We saw a few tiny ants but hardly an infestation, and one cockroach!

The pool area was slippy, not very safe for young children although warning signs were up. The usual fight for sunbeds happened every morning with towels all placed at the crack of dawn and not a soul in sight! This was despite signs saying that sunbeds were not to be kept. One day a rep went round collecting all the towels off the empty sunbeds but I only saw it happen one time!

We were self-catering and found plenty of variety of places to eat both within the complex and outwith. The prices in the bars in the complex for food were very competitive. The Spar shop on the site(one of several) made fresh baguettes every morning, which were lovely and still warm. Outwith the complex we would recommend Yummy Yummy's, right across from the entrance - good value. Lunas was also really nice, but more expensive. The Picadilly bar (turn left from entrance) had a great evening family atmosphere with quizzes and karaoke.

The entertainment in the show garden was mostly very good; we saw "Westlife", "Grease", "Abba" and "Jackson 5". (Robbie Williams impersonator was poor) and the compere was terrific and even made bingo fun with his antics and command of various languages. We felt there could have been more entertainment on in the other bars in the complex for people who didn't want to go to the show garden. I think the guests when we were there were about 80% English.

I strongly recommend the Pirates show if you go on an excursion. The seating is a bit cramped but the show is tremendous and suitable for adults and children.

I would happily recommend the Bellevue to anyone, I found it to be basic but clean. The staff were courteous, grounds lovely and well-kept. I would be delighted to return. Alcudia is lovely, great beach, lovely marina and very family-friendly. Old town worth a visit, very olde-worlde spanish.

Hope this review is helpful to anyone planning a visit. I certainly foud previous ones useful.

Just returned from a week in Bellevue apartments and had a fabulous time.  I admit, I was a little worried about what I would find after reading some of the reviews, but on arrival discovered I had nothing to worry about and would return in the morning. 

We were placed in Fedra I, which was clean, the receptionists were very helpful and our beds were changed 3 times in the week we were there, the apartment cleaned three times and the towels changed four times - so no complaints there.

The pool was clean and the children had great fun there each day.  The pool at Fedra I was not too big, and I admit, if you had not reserved a sun lounger by 9 am, you had little or no chance of getting one.  By the pool was a play park and a childrens club which was ran by staff from bellevue, which the children went do most mornings and some afternoons, and even got to go horse riding with them on the Friday.  The childrens club which was run by the holiday reps was also on each day, but as the complex is so huge, it was quite a walk to get to it, so the kids were quite happy with the bellevue club.  Also, if the adults get bored, every morning and afternoon the hotel runs activites solely for them, e.g. pistol shooting, archery etc., though we did not take advantage of any of these.

As mentioned, the complex is VERY big, but about 4 or 5 minutes walked us to the show gardens where there was entertainment each night.  Robbie Williams tribute is excellent, though I would give Grease a miss - basically the hotel staff miming to a track.

Tivoli and the Peach Pit are the two places where we got the best grub.  Don't be lured in to some places which offer the 8 euro menu, as whilst it is usually good, for a little more you get a much bigger meal in some of the other restaurants.  We went to Yummy Yummys on our first night, after being recommended it on this site, but waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive - they were extremely busy and people who came in after us got served before us, so maybe it was a one off.

Crepe man along the main street is a must do - his crepes are to die for and it is real entertainment just to watch him making them - he has it down to a fine art.  The hair braiders do hassle you a bit, but just say no thank you and they will leave you alone.  Also, if you are getting your child's hair braided, bargain with them.  They generally start off at 25 euro, but I got my daughters done for 10 euro after a bit of haggling -there is one who is based in the bellevue beside the bike hire, so this is where I went as it was handy.

Beach is fantastic, spent most afternoons there.  We all had one of our best holidays ever in alcudia and I would fully recommend both the resort and the hotel - no, there is no air conditioning, but you can hire a fan, and we had a few ants, but they kept much to themselves.  Personally, I would go back in the morning as a great holiday was had by all.

Just arrived back from two weeks in the belle vue apartments in alcudia half board.
Stayed in minerva 1 ground floor room with pool view exactly what we asked for rating 10/10.
The pool was excellent and had a lifeguard 10-6 and was cleaned every day it was one of eight pools on the complex.

The food was very good but sometimes a little repetitive and had to que at peak times ie 9am  and 8pm the staff where very pleasant.

The entertainment was very good especial Marcel who did the Karoke every night kids loved it.
When watching the shows at night take plenty of insect repellant as the mozzies are everywhere and you will get bit.Take your own repellant as it is three times the price in Alcudia.
If you visit the beach there is a boat that takes you from the complex three euros return two for kids and you wont be disappointed the beach is excellent and the sea is shallow ideal for youger kids and it is also very warm.

Overall we had an excellent two weeks but we did arrive in the middle of a heat wave 115 degrees on first day and there is no air conditioning in the rooms so it was hard to get any sleep you can hire fans from reception but we bought one from the shop cheaper and sold it on at the end of the holiday.

If you are going to these apartments you will have a great time but remember to take insect repellant and a fan .

just got back from 1 week in alcudia stayed at the bellevue in minerva 1,with a ground floor room with a pool view excellent, just what we asked for. 

This was our first holiday abroad and we all loved it as it was a fantastic resort, we stayed half board but had friends that were all inclusive (so we got free drinks :D)we would deffinatly go back there as they had everything for all ages of the family. The entertainment was great especially Marcel and the karoke also say hello to joey, martin and alex the entertainment team( the fit ones) . 

The only thing that we could complain about was that the room needed air conditioning as it impossible to sleep at times.If you were to go there we would advise you to take insect repellant as in the show garden the mozzies were a nighmare as they bite you all over. Over all this holiday was excellent and we would deffinatly go again and would advise any first time travellers abroad with a family to go there as it is amazing. 

The beaches are definalty worth a visit as the sea was like swimming in a hot bath.. it was of the best beaches we had ever been to. Also if you went to the beach we would deffinatly advise you to go on the banana boats as they were cheap and amazing. The show garden was amazing and fun as they put on all kinds of entertainment for all ages such as. kids disco for the younger ones and bingo for the adults.(put your hands up in the air)SO this was a great holiday and would advise anyone to go there.

I stayed at the bellvue apartments for the first two weeks in july 2006 and i have to say the place was discusting we arrived late in the evening and they just dumped us off at this hut looking thing which they called reception and when we checked in they gave us a map with a 10 min walk to our actuall apartment block 

we were all inclusive and i have to say the food was discusting honestly the first morning after we arrived i saw a huge cockroach crawling through the dinning room and enter the kitchen when i told a member of staff they pretended they did not have a clue what i was talking about also if you are all inclusive they will tell you there is a snack bar there is but its not what you would expect its inside all they have is chips and its self service!

make sure you take plenty of insect repellant the mossies will eat you alive honestly espescially in the show garden there are only a few bars where all inclusive people can get drinks and they are given to you in very very small plastic cups we are treated like second class citezens espescially compared to the germans who are treated like kings!

there was also 2 human poo's in the swimming pool while we were there and did not get cleaned out which is discusting

And if you have heard that there are rats its true lots of them running along the wall of the river which you see whilst sunbathing.

I would never go back to the belle vue its filthy and the staff are rude! i give it minus 1* compared to the 3* it gets in the brochure!

Got back from Bellevue at the end of July and stayed in Ceres 1 Apartments, they were disgusting.There was a party of ten of us, two of which pensioners and we were shoved on the top floor despite requesting ground floor(we booked over a year before our departure)and the lift could only fit 2 people in which didnt help. The towels were changed only a few times during our stay and when the cleaned our rooms they only emptied our bins and cleaned the sinks,never mopped or swept the floor.
There was never a First Choice rep on site to talk to until the day before departure and that was a chore for my party members to find them.

We couldnt grab any sun loungers unless we got up at six which defeats the object of a holiday,so we went to the beach most days which was LOVELY!!

They had a beach bar which sold takeaway meals,alcohol,hot and soft drinks at a very reasonable prices and open until ten at night.(you can also eat there if you dont fancy sand in your food)
At night we eat in the Red Lion pub where we had a 3course meal for 8 euros.Service was good at best in the early evening. The Thomson Cook reps there were brilliant.
We also went to the Hidropark which is about 25 minute walk from the main reception.Or 4 euros in the taxi which u can order from reception only!
If you like snides the "looky looky" men have some great knock offs but remember to haggle! The shops are very reasonable great for souveneirs!
There was also a great range of restaurants(not just spanish) that offered good meals. And an English chip shop, over the bridge and turn right.

Overall I had a good holiday away from the hotel.And I wouldnt stay there again.

Stayed in Ceres II. One word on the apartment - ANTS. Hundreds of them. Staff unhelpful, ended up treating them ourselves. Had drug dealing two evenings running going on poolside (evening time). Again, reception staff unhelpful.
Plenty of sun though.

MUSTS: Yummy, Yummys, just outside reception. Premier Cruises @ Alcudia Port. Sounds expensive @ 5o euros per adult, but excellent. We went on 3hr sunset cruise - had the boat to ourselves. English staff, drinks and buffet meal included. Swimming from the boat which moored for 90 minutes out in the calm waters of a secluded beach. Tried La Tivoli bar outside reception. Service very poor, staff couldnt wait for you to finish your meal so they could seat others. Jolly Rogers was fine for a meal, although service slow.
Entertainment on site fine.
We went self catering, but tried the Fully Inclusive breakfast. It was horrible. Seems to only cater for the Germans. Certainly wouldnt consider going Fully Inclusive.

All in all, it was our second time there, we went several years ago. Dont thionk I would go again, as the resort is too British. may as well go to Blackpool!

Hair Braiding women, Sunglass and Watch sellers a pain. As are mosquitoes.

i can recomend bellevue apartments plenty to do pools are great apart from the usual selfish people reserving sun beds with towels then not using them for most of day,room was clean and quite nice same as any other three star iv,e stayed in . avoid yummys unless you like sticking to the table and chairs .bar diana and drunken corner have habit of charging for drinks you didnt have so watch out.

don pedros bar very good and staff very friendly and they serve a very tasty lasagne, flying scotsmans a great bar and the irish bar plenty of chinese resturants to choose from very cheap for set meals
as for mosquitoes yes we did get bit and i had to take antibiotics when we got back as they were,nt clearing up but this is a problem common to alcudia not just bellevue as some havr wrote.

all in all a good hol apart from the fact that when we got back to AIRPARKS SERVICES GARRETS GREEN BIRMINGHAM to pick our car up they had smashed one of my wing mirrors ,they took a photo and said they,d sort it but now they say they,re not liable and that i have to proove they caused the damage needless to say i wont be using them again i may aswell have parked my car on the road side

We arrived at the Bellvue expecting Butlins in the sun and that's exactly what we got.

I would not recommend this holiday to anyone as i dont really have any good points apart from the fact the rooms and pools were clean. I have just returned and foolishly we went high season with extremly high temperatures. it was impossible to sleep at night due to the fact the rooms do not have air condtioning. we hired a fan on the recommendations of reading other reviews. This was as useful as a chocolate tea pot!

We went All Inclusive. The food was horrible, buffet style was always cold, the breakfasts were horrible after the first day we had to eat out. i wouldnt recommentd Yummy Yummy the food tasted horrible. if you want something cheap but good quality try the New Inn. English owners, English staff, English Produce. For a more expensive meal try Lunars, i had Sirloin diana and it was one of the nicest steaks i have ever eaten. That cost around 18 Euros.

the beach is lovely in Alcudia but overall i cant say i will go back again. I much prefer Magaluf, Palma nova.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We spent one week all-inclusive at Bellevue during the last week of July. The complex is absolutely massive - so big that they should have a courtesy bus to transport you and your luggage to your room.  We were put in Fedra 2, which is at the very back of the complex and is a LONG WALK.  You first book in at main reception, then are sent to the relevant reception for your block.  When we asked about trolleys to push our luggage back on the return journey, we were told they were available, but no one could find any!  Didn't find this block noisy as others did, while we were here. 

ROOM - My biggest complaint about Bellevue is that there is no air conditioning.  I did know they had none before we went, but didn't realise how hot and humid Majorca can be without it.  We didn't get one decent night sleep due to the extreme heat, although we had 3 fans going constantly (17 euro hire at reception for one week - 14 euro if you ask at the no frills desk).  Our room was cleaned twice during our week; towels and linen changed both times.  When we needed towels/toilet roll etc we asked at reception and received it no problem.  Rooms were basic but clean.

THE COMPLEX - The complex is sort of divided into all-inclusive and self-catering - there are certain bars you visit for all-inclusive and others for paying customers, however the pool bar nearest you may not be the one you can use!  Another LONG walk!  The closest pools are constantly invaded with children who spray EVERYONE with their water guns - all the time.  We used the Sirena pool, which has an all-inclusive bar, and overlooks the lake.  It was the furthest away and a LONG walk, so we had to make sure we had everything with us when we left the apartment.  However, it is near the buffet restaurant, which was handy.  There is one buffet restaurant that all inclusive can use, but it is at the very front of the complex, beside the lake, so every time we went to eat we had to walk the length again - breakfast was worst.  After just rising no one felt like the long walk to breakfast (took us 15 minutes at least to walk there).  However the food was very good - available almost all day and good variety, and the restaurant was spotless.  The setting is very pretty, and I have to say I saw neither rats not cockroaches during the time I stayed there, contrary to previous reviews.  We took the boat to the beach once at 3-euro return and it was fine. 

ENTERTAINMENT - The Show Garden at night had good enough entertainment, which we did enjoy, but it was quite hard to get seats even though it's huge, as there were so many people staying at Bellevue.  There was a steady queue at the all-inclusive bar in the show garden, but it didn't take too long to get served.  Stood behind one guy for about fifteen minutes though, one night in the Morocco bar (also all inclusive) while he filled a tray with at least 15 drinks while the queue behind him grew and grew.  (We found people quite rude and greedy around the all-inclusive choices.)  There were fights two separate nights in the Show Garden while we were there.  Lot of English jerseys worn both day and night, which I found intimidating.  On holidays people should leave politics at home!

I usually enjoy joining in with the provided entertainment for adults during the day (rifle shooting etc), however as this complex is so spread out, it was quite hard to find what was happening where, and if we did find out, it was so far away, we tended not to bother due to the impending walk in the severe heat.

THE RESORT - We were located well, outside the main gate you turn right and go straight down through the main strip where all the shops are.   After ten minutes or so you reach the beach.  The beach is fantastic!  White sand, shallow sea with warm water - beautiful.  We were able to walk to Puerto Alcudia and to the Old Town from Bellevue (half an hours walk approx to each location.)  However we wouldn't have known this if we hadn't chatted to Seamus of No Frills Excursions (located within Bellevue grounds) He gave us a map and directions to both. 

EXCURSIONS - We used No Frills for a day trip to Palma.  They are definitely the best to use - they only speak English on their trips, they put no costly extras in and their trips are worth the money.  Palma is beautiful, with brilliant shops - but very, very hot at this time of year.

All in all we had a good enough week in Bellevue and Alcudia.  However, I won't be going back as there are much nicer places to visit, with friendlier people and better-serviced apartments.

Upon arrival at this resort at 4am we were given our room key, we were in Fedra 1, which is the furthest away from the entrance to this huge complex. We were greeted by ants outside the door and on entering the room we found it to be uncomfortably hot and very very dated, the room had not been cleaned properly, but as we had two very tired children we decided to sort this out in the morning.  as we had read reviews prior to coming we hired a fan, which did not do much good!

the morning did not get much better we were told that there was no chance of changing rooms as they were fully booked, we were told on day 3 if we wanted to change it would be to menevra 1, where the rooms were the same but they had mosquitos as this block was next to the lake.  There was a constant smell of sewerage from the lake, around the whole complex.   if you like butlins in the sun, this complex would suit you, we found it very noisy and rowdy, the go karts go on well after 12am every night!!!! and the gangs of teenagers around the complex was shocking.  we were not alone, alot of people we spoke to felt the same, we were very dissapointed with the service from the reps whose attitude was, we can not do anything!

We decided to try and make the best out of the holiday and spent all our time away from the complex, alcudia was nice, the beach was fab and great for young kids.  The best place to eat was Lunas grill, which has fab food and a park to keep the kids happy, tivoli was very similar although a little smaller. The crazy crepe man is a must, best pancakes ever!!!

Pirates is a must, fantastic night, make sure you are deffinatley booked on as we waited over 45 min for bus and were told we were not booked on, our 4 year old was not amused and spent he hour crying, not to my suprise we could not find a rep to sort out till following morning after i telephoned the 24hr line.  wild west water park great.

So all in all if you are going to bellevue, prepare yourself and make the most out of it, we felt this complex was not a 3 star hotel, more like a low 2star, would visit alcudia again but nearer the beach as its a good walk from the cmplex.

Could not wait to come home, 10 days too long at the bellevue!!!!!!!

we went to the bellevue 8 years ago so we knew what it was like.we stayed in alcudia last year but at the jupiter,we had a look round the bellevue and we were well impressed, much improved,

we stayed in minerva 1 on the 3rd floor over looking the lake lovely and peacefull,our two teenagers loved it,we never saw them and i knew they would be safe as they stayed on the complex which is large with everything they needed, they made lots of friends as there were loads of kids there age,they did go to burger king just outside main entrence to bellevue,hired a eight seater bike, which there are special lanes for.our appartment was large ,the kitchen was adiquate for what u would use it for,it had a fridge 2 cooking rings ,toaster microwave, lots of pots and pans.

my only gripe is that the beds were not changed in the 2 weeks we were there,towels only twice.there is no air con which i must admit was a problem cos it was so hot,but once upon a time there was non any where, we have all gone soft!every one mentions yummys,go to the jolly roger, down the side street to the left of yummys.show garden great acts, the dolcia vita italian on complex great food.pub above open till 3pm ,night club near by open till late.mozzies a problem,but just take plenty of stuff(may i recommend avon skin so soft,soft&fresh dry body oil, it is not sold as repelent but it works).

we had a great time, go up the mountain it is worth it.one other thing we arrived at 1130am, no room ready till 3pm,apparently this is check in time, not as bad as one family who had to wait till 4pm and they had 4 small children.and yes we did see rats at the canal faceing the restaraunt,but dont be alarmed they were tiny and almost tame they will go were there is water.by the way try the indian down a quite side street faceing the alcudia sol centre, it is fantastic!

hope u have a good a time as we did happy holiday! we went self catering, dont go all inclusive everything people have said is true,even the germans did not rate it ,we spoke to some as my daughter speaks a little german.

We have just arrived back from Alcudia.  

Only good thing to say is weather was brilliant - unfortunately staying at the Bellevue there is no air conditioning you have to pay to hire fans (which aren't much good).  Do not think this place is worthy of 3* more like 1*, if you enjoy Butlins then this place is for you.  

We were in Minerva II overlooking the road, Prince of Wales pub across the road very noisy until 5am every morning,8 out of 14 nights we saw police cars and ambulances because of young teenagers very drunk and fighting.  Beach is absoulutely gorgeous.  Also at the Bellevue saw rats at the lake which stinks.  Kids drinking alcohol in the stairways (some as young as 12 and 13).  

Will not be going back ever again.

Just returned from our 2 week self catering holiday in the Bellvue,found Alcudia a lovely place. The complex was ideal for what we required which was a large swimming pool outside our apartments,a kids mini club which was well run and some great acts at the show garden at night. We stayed at the FEDRA 2 which was very basic and very very noisy at night mainly due to the lack of security, i must point out that the apartments were cleaned every 2 days,no complaints there. 

The biggest problem we had was the mosquitos which attacked us and everybody else every night mainly at the show garden.The mosquitos were so bad this would stop you returning in future although overall we did enjoy the break but wouldn't rush back to the complex.

just got back from 1 weeks holiday at the bellvue. the room was very clean maid service 3 times a week. we ate everyday at the red lion which is on site 3 corse meal for 8 euros.kids 2 corse meal for 4 euros.pools very clean life gaurd on duty 10 til 6 the grounds very clean.boiling hot the beach is stunning. you can walk to the beach but there is a boat that will take you for 2 euros or 3 euros return.go to the show gardens which again is on site 8 pm mini disco til 9 pm great for younger kids my 5 year old loved it. you have to go to the picadilliy go to th entrance of bellvue and turn left from 9 pm kids entertainment owner dresses up as supergirl does all sorts with kidsgames disco etc 9.45music quiz which is great fun. please try the pancake man in main street a must.we met a couple from birmingham with a young boy ben if you read this please get in touch. happy birthday to ben

Well, I wasn't expecting 5 star luxury so I wasn't really that dissapointed with the Bellevue...We booked direct online after we had read the reviews on this site, and on the whole we have very few complaints - However this is not a reason for me to give this a rating of good or higher...
Don't go to this resort if:
You like quality shops - Very few and far between, mostly tourist tat;
You like getting value for money when eating out - Overpriced mostly except the British style restraunts...why go away to eat British Grub?;

However do go if:
You like the sun (Very hot while we were there; Last Week in June - First in July) There were a couple of overcast days but you will still get burned unless you wear protection
You like snide - Tons of Louis V, Prada and the rest at very good prices - HAGGLE HAGGLE HAGGLE...
You like Markets - 2 very good ones are Alcudia Old Town 7.50Euros in a cab
Manacor - Slightly further, best by bus
You don't mind eating English Food all holiday - Yumm Yummy has the nicest breakfast, very reasonable too

MOZZIES:  Big Issues With these little bggers!  Take lots of mosquito reppellent with you as it is twice the price out there (They know you will need it) Between the three of us we clocked up about 100 bites and that was on the first couple of days...
Drains were an issue in our block also the lake tends to give off a bit of a whiff in early evening...

All in all - Good if you are on a budget - May end up costing more than you budgeted though!  Not really for you if you have a tad more ...

An excellent holiday!!! And the staff in the reception of Minerva II were very helpful as when we arrived we had been put on the 4th floor but our double buggy wouldn't fit in the lift! within 2 mins we were given a new key to a ground floor apartment......very efficient.
We had an excellent pool view & if any teenagers went in the pool in the early hours making noise they were soon dealt with!
Where ever you walk round the holiday village you will always see someone cleaning steps, pools or emptying bins......very clean!
Our pool was cleaned every day & had a lifeguard which is great to know when you've got young kids.
We ate out every night which was not expensive (you can spend as little or as much as you want), Luna's grill was our favourite, it had a small park to amuse our 2 year old while we enjoyed the entertainment & the house red wine was v.cheap & really nice.

Alcudia is definetely a resort for kids (young & older), they are welcomed into the majority of bars & restaurants, most have small parks & given lollies once you've paid your bill.

The weather was very hot & at night the mosquitos were rife, so make sure you take plenty of repellent.

We had an excellent time & wish we were still there!!!!! We would definetely go back...soon!

we stayed at the bellevue in june this year the hotel was not as good as the brochure had been made it out to be 

for a start the rooms were not very clean and the beds sheets did not get changed for 10 days and only when i complained at reception did the maid come and wash the floor and give us clean sheets and we didnt get clean towels every three days either as we had been told when we arrived i had to again go to reception to get them, 

the pool was filthy and had human poo in it twice and when we reported it we where told the man would clean it at six oclock that evening after children had been playing in it all day which i think is disgusting as my son could not go in the water after we had seen that, 

the food was awful and they only catered for their german guests who had their own pool with poolside bar which they could get snacks anytime of the day or night but the english people had to walk over to the restaurant to get food which was disgusting and had cockroaches crawling around in it, and yes if you have heard other reports that people have seen rats it is true as while we were sunbathing we saw them running along the wall at the river,

the staff were also very rude and unpleasant and treated the british visitors like second class citizens, 

i would not return to the bellevue it should be a minus 1* and not a 3* although the resort of alcudia is very nice and has lots to do and some nice restuarants i personally would not return to the bellevue, and if you are going take plenty of mosquito repellent as you get ate alive with them especially in the show garden at night.

Bellvue was a great place to stay, Apartment were clean and complex very tidy. The onsite entertainment was excellent with something different every night, Airtours kids club was great, my 4 year old went nearly every day sometimes twice and enjoyed it. 

The onsite Buffet restaurant was very good to eat  10 euros per adult 5 for kids. Outside the complex there is a road full of bars, Gift shops and restaurants, our favourites were Lunas and a Spanish one called San Perfore( down to the beach road on your left before the KFC Excellent for tapas + paella. Beach was very clean and a 30 min walk along the beach front took you to the Port( worth a visit) While in Majorca visit the Pirate show in Magaluf this was an excellent show for kids and adults with Sangria, white wine, sprite and Pepsi all in with the price.

just returned from 2 week stay at bellevue,alcudia.only bad point was at first we were placed in fedra block which was full of spanish students who partied literally all night every night and dominated the pool every afternoon from about 2pm .

we complained to our first choice rep and were moved after 3 days to neptuno block ay other side of complex.from then on nothing to complain about,apartment much better and kids really enjoyed the pools .the complex is great, loads of activities during day for kids and adults and saw some great shows in the show garden on an evening .alcudia is great and the beach is beautiful. the only downside to alcudia is mosquitos remember the repellant spray.lots of nice places to eat , would really recomend tivoli just outside the bellevue complex.hair braidin women on streets are abit of a pain but afirm no if your not interested is enough .

we were there 20th june to 4th july and had fantastic weather wall to wall sunshine all the time .we would recomend this complex to any families but ask that you are not placed in fedra block especially in high season.

My family and I took a weeks holiday to the Bellevue in June on an all inclusive basis, BIG Mistake!. I would firstly like to start of on a possative and say that if you are going on holiday to this venue self catering you will have a completely different holiday to that we had. The resort is good has lots to do and has great evening entertainment. It is situated very well within Alcudia. Room was fine although we only had maid service once during our week there.

But however do not go to this venue if you are planning an all inclusive holiday. You are treated like a second class citizen, you can only visit 2 of the seven pools to obtain your free drinks and ice creams, you will have to pay at all the rest, and depaending on where you are situated you may well have a good walk to the all inclusive pools. The pools do not serve snacks, you can only get food from the main restaurant at the specified opening times, so if you fancy a snack you mainly end up going to the supermarket wich defeats the object.

The main problem was in the evenings. There was a separate bar for all inclusive which was only ever manned by 1 bar staff. My husband and I spent most of our evenings apart due to the HUGE ques every night. To top this we had to look at two big bars which had 4-6 staff on a night for the paying quests that never had a que at all. We we not aloud to drink out of a glass we had to have paper cups, which took about four of these to fill a pint glas (which we were not aloud to have) we were not aloud to have a tray so there are only so many cups one person can carry (if the other person is looking out for the children) so you could'nt really get a few in at a time it was one each and when that was gone, back in the que again. So I spent most of the evenings sat on my own which obviously was'nt the idea! 

The entertainment staff also made ridaculling comments regarding the all inclusive guests alot making out that we were cheap scates.

All of the above really spoiled our holiday, we had been on all inclusives before but never experianced anything like this.

So go if your self catering but stay away if going on all inclusive!

Just back today, First time on holiday with our grandson so decided to go to a family hotel. We stayed in the Ceres 2 apartments, for those not here before, the belleview hotel isnt just one hotel but many, approx 8-10 set around very large grounds, bear this in mind if your going fully inc as we were told you had to go from your hotel swimming pool for a good walk to get your all inc drinks during the day, also meals are just served from one location which is where the entertainment also is...

The apartment we had was basic but enough for the 4 of us. Room was cleaned/ towels replaced 3 times in the week. We spent most of the time at the pool and the beach but there was lots of things for the kids to do if required, football coaching, games ect ect...

The entertainment was fantastic, great acts and a terrific stage for them to perform on, with all the lighting and smoke machines, very professional.

The resort itself was great, mostly family bars and some great places to eat. try Ola's near the bottom end towards the beach on the left, great food and great with the kids. We found that Alcudia itself was very different from the rest of spain, ie Santa Ponsa, Palma ect ect as the people there were a lot more friendlier. We was suprised with the prices of drink, it was a killer, more or less the price you would pay at a niteclub back home.

All in all, yes its a good hotel for families, but, expensive for drinks.
The resort i would give it 10 out of 10, esp the beach as its very shallow for quite a bit which is good for the kids.

So i've youve booked already, GOOOOO but if its all inc, take trainers with you for the walk, think its very bad you have to walk for a drink but never mind.

Oh, dont ask for a wake up call, you wont get it, we almost slept in...   :o)

we have just got back from the bellevue we spent one week there could have stayed for a month on arrival we were put in the FEDRA 1 very noisy with all the spanish students we got moved the next day to CERES 1 which was alot better full of english familys 

there is lots to do on site if you cant find something to do there is something wrong with you we stayed there half board the food was alright 8 out of 10 entertainment every nite loads of on site spar shops very reasonable prices the beach was very nice and clean we got the boat by the restaurant 3 euro return to the beach loads of bars good shops 

we would go back now if we could if you have booked the bellvue dont worry your in for a treat your gonna love it there is also a fair for the kids on site, crazy golf,2.50 euro enjoy we did

where do i begin we stayed in ceries 1 block wich had a lovely pool couldnt keep the kids away from it thats the only time they were moaning rooms were cleaned every other day very friendly staff beach is a short walk from the complex and is beautiful yummy yummys across the road was our place to eat food was nice also the karioke man shaun (my son was in tears when he had to say goodbye to him awww blesss and tito the manager and staff realy looked after us the crepe man is a must best pancakes ive tasted hes funny to watch aswell cheers bar has a good atmosphere mint when englands playin those of yous goin before the final the public bus to palma is only 9.40 euros return and half that for kids well worth it as they take you by coach all in all if you have any doubts dont have them cause youll enjoy it very much food entertainment etc...

Just back from Alcudia ,excellent holiday really great for kids,must try yummy,yummmy,s for brekkie or lunch,just across from bellvue,really cheap.appartments really clean,serviced every couple of days,clean towels etc,peach pit family pub really good aswell.Lovely beaches,can walk out for miles,must have a crep from the crep Mannie.Stay clear of Trivolli resturant 2 up from flying scotsman,food very poor,poor service,attitude of staff shocking,made a complaint got threatened with police,stay clear.

We were a little dubious as to what we might find, given some of the reviews we had seen.  However the holiday was one of the best I've had and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone.

Romms were basic but exceptionally clean, as was everything in the hotel - public areas, pools, restaurants etc.  Maids cleaned the room three times in a week, and sheets were changed once.  No cockroaches, ants or any other creepy crawlies were spotted.  Staff were fantastic, very helpful, although they did take exception to the people that spoke to them like dirt.  We treated them as we would like to be treated, and they were great.  Canal running through the resort was a little smelly at times but not overbearing, and yes there were several sightings of rats.

We were all inclusive so ate at the hotel every day.  No complaints about the food - plenty of variety and always freshly cooked.  The drinks were watered down and service on the all inclusive bars was slow - my only complaint.  You were only able to get all inclusive drinks in certain bars, but I think they should have been available across the hotel.

Entertainment was great - Butlins in the sun, but with young children that was what we wanted and they were constantly occupied.  Plenty for grown ups as well.  Entertainers great - worked really hard.

All in all, you get what you pay for.  We had a cheap week away, but if we'd have wanted five star luxury, we'd have paid double what we did and gone elsewhere. I'd go back tomorrow!

This was our third year at the Bellevue and unfortunately the weather was rubbish for 4 out of the 6 days with rain, wind and temperature drops by 20 degrees, and that was for the end of May! 

To top it all the maid service was diabolical, we had enjoyed 5 days of good service on previous occasions but this time they let us down badly. The bedding was never replaced and the cleaning was only done once. 

Fortunately we had other things on the go and the excursions took the edge off the bad weather plus we found a new bar that had recently opened up called Einsteins.  It's over the bridge and to the left along with a couple of other bars and restaurants.  The owner, a lovely guy called Andy, made is some wonderful cocktails and not over priced like they can be sometimes.  He also does a mean cup of milky coffee, the closest you can get over there to a latte.  He caters for all age groups, in the afternoon he puts on the football for those who unlike me don't worship the sun, in the evening he puts on all the soaps and for the pre-disco goers the tele goes off and the music blasts out.  He stays open until the last person falls out the door.  Definitely worth a visit.
If you feel a bit peckish then try the pancake man just before the bridge, never tasted better :o)

Just come back from the Bellevue apartments in Alcudia, arrived there on Tuesday 23 May 2006 it was raining we were gutted but thankfully it only lasted that day the weather was nice and warm with a breeze the apartments have everything you need, microwave,kettle,2 hobs, toaster and tv although we only used the kettle the only draw back was at night time far to hot, no air conditioning.The best place to eat is The Peach Pit the food is really nice and so is the atmosphere the waiters are really friendly and Boomerang was on the tv, it said entertainment by the pool but there wasn,t any didn't need it though the kids far too busy splashing around.The shops are good the only thing that is annoying are the ladies that want to braid your hair we were asked every night!!!!!

All in all a very good holiday with everything you need would reccomend it to anyone.

Arrived with mixed feelings about bellevue as other reports have not been great but we found it fine very big and with a lot of activities for kids night time is good shows are quite good esp for the kids , kids club run by hotel is great for the children that want to do outdoor activities as the tour operated one is all indoors and a bit boring for the over 4s we went half board and found the food fine but you need to go early for brekfast or you wont find much left as it is getting very busy now(1-6-06) 

if going now you will need to bring some clothes that are a bit warmer for the night as it can get windy some times  but you will enjoy the holiday if you are not too fussy

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the bellevue. It was a last minuate booking, booked a few hours before departing!!
It was the first week of the summer season, We had lovely weather all but 1 1/2 days of rain. On those days there wasn't really much to do. The pool areas were very clean and a lifeguard in attendance at all times. The hotel run kids club was great. It was on every day with lots of activities.
very well run.
The evening entertainment was also very good with a varied programme from night to night.
I only have two criticisims
one is that the rooms were only cleaned three times and the sheets and towels were only changed once.
The other is that there was a shortage of highchairs in the dining room. We had to wait for one nearly every meal time.
The food was very good at the Bellevue with a good choice.

All in all the bellevue is a great place for families with lots to do for young children with its playgrounds and mini fairground and kids club.

Hi we went for a week allinclusive. Rooms were large we were in Leda 3 room 606 we were lucky we had air con and TV which got BBC, ITV and 5 great as the weather was awful as it rains for 5 out of our 7 days. Cleaner can twice and change sheets once, towels twice and rubbish twice. Room was clean as was food good not greasy as other areas of spain.
What I didn't like only being able to drink in 2 pool bars and being segragated to sit in one area of the restuarant as in other all inclusive hotels you can sit where you want. We did not like the wearing of bands as it most places you have a card with your photo on much better. Entertainment was poor but this is low season - would hate to go high season. Other reports state this is like Butlins or Haven by the sea thats correct.
Mossies are a problem - take plenty of repellant. Beware if you are going to go on the free walk to the market it takes 1 hour and is very steep - take the bus which costs about 1 euro 60. Beach is about 20 minutes walk when we went but would probably be longer in high season.

Would we go again "NO".
We met some lovely people which helped to make our holiday so hello to our Belfast friends.

we spent 2 weeks staying in the minerva 1 apartment was great, regular maid service the whole complex was clean and lots to do even though we were there low season, kids enjoyed various activites and all ages well catered for,  the first week we hired a car and visited magaluf palma porto cristo etc it was great seeing the island and not to far to drive around, spent second week at complex pools were great, well looked after, lots of places to eat we spent many nights in a place called the PICADILLY brill time good for all ages entertainment brill dont miss a visit to there you wont be dissapointed, its just over the road from the complex, say hi to sarah and ben and all the staff also dont go home without trying the pancakes from the crepe man 

would definatley being going back just wish it was soon

I booked a family holiday to the Bellevue and it turned into a family nightmare!!
We were dumped in the "Fedra" block which was completely over run with Spanish students, happens every year apparently!

On arrival at the hotel at midday we were told that our room would not be ready until 4pm. When we got our room, it was absolutely filthy so we tidyed it ourselves. Day 1 ruined!!

We went out for an evening meal and the Spanish students were still in the pool when we got back just after 9pm. Everything was quiet for while until the Spanish student started to come back to the complex at 1am. They were shouting, screaming, singing and playing in the pool. This carried on until 6am in the morning. During this period they were climbing up our balconey to get to their friends, my youngest was in tears all night and we had absolutely no sleep.

I spoke to the rep on our second morning and she agreed to have us moved to a different accomodation by 5pm. At 1pm my eldest son went to get changed at the apartment and was greeted by 3 towels covered in human "Poo". We were moved within two hours. Day 2 ruined!! If you go to the Bellevue state that you do not want to stay at the "FEDRA".

I went away with my 2yr old son and my boyfriend on Oct 22nd - 29th. the resort was wonderful and we had excellent weather. we couldn't have asked for it to be any better. the resort wasn't overly busy as it was the end of the season so it was ideal for my family as it is at the moment. we loved the place it catered really well for children. the beach was one of the best i've seem and the water was clear (with no fish, yeah).
the hotel complex was huge and actually looked like lots of separate hotels. we stayed in ceres 1, which was very nice with good facilities in the room. towels were changed every other day and bedding changed twice a week.
there was lots to do on site like mini golf, go karting and squash courts etc all at an extra charge. go karts 20 euros for 8 mins, a lot we thought. golf was 2.50 for 18 holes not to bad.

we thought the hotel was nice but we thought that in peak times it would be so busy that the noise would be a pain. you could hear people in the next room ever now and then and on the corridor.
overall all the 3 of us had a brillant time and would really recommend it. we didn't want to come home. however watch out for the mosquitoes (spelt wrong)they really get u, but they did leave my som along which was good. Excellent holiday : )

This was my first holiday abroad with my son, and i was dreading it after reading the reviews. I honestly dont understand where the bad reviews have come from, but i guess its down to personal opinion.  My son and I had an absolutely brilliant time, and i would definitely go back again and recommend it to anyone but especially families.  My parents have been to many places and said that this was defintely one of the best.
Our apartment was lovely, very clean and the maids were in almost every dayof our 2 week stay.
The pools and grounds were very clean and well maintained, and the pools close now at 6pm so no problems with late night swimmers.

Yummy Yummy over the road from the complex was cheap and the food is lovely.  Lunas Grill is more expensive but the kebabs and steaks are delicious, and the entertainment and atmosphere were brilliant, even at the end of the season.

The beach is stunning, and the water is very safe for children (and surprisingly quite warm).
Everyone was so friendly, and all the staff in restaurants and bars we went to seemed to love children.
The reps were brilliant, always there when they were supposed to be, and dropped everyone off at their apartment block.

Please, please go to Pirates.  It may seem expensive but you do get your meal and free sangria, wine or soft drinks all night. The acrobatics are stunning and the atmosphere brilliant.  we also went to marineland, the dolphin show is amazing.  Rancho grande was another very enjoyable night on the Sangria Express!

We all thoroughly enjoyed this holiday, and can't fault anything. If you're going i would say just go with an open mind and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised.  a holiday is what you make it, and it will soon be over,so enjoy!

To be really honest, I had my reservations on holidaying anywhere but the USA, but a lot of people recommended going to Alcudia.  

After arriving at Palma airport, we were promptly directed to our coach for transfer to the resort, which took about 45mins.  Once at the resort we checked in and was directed to our room (Leda 2 apartment block) which was on the 8th floor.  The apartment was really nice, and clean.  The whole area was kept really clean, although you had to be careful when walking to reception, as it was near the pool and was always wet.   

What parts of the complex we saw were pretty well kept, if I really had to find something to moan about, it would be lack of lighting at night and occasionally the lifts didn't work (which being on the 8th floor was a real pain).  Because of the time of year, a lot of places had already shut for winter, but there were still many places to go (our favorites were Bugs Bunnys which is 2 doors from Linekers bar and Bananas (try the pizzas)).  The beach (10 minute walk)is as everyone had told me - Fantastic, at approx 1/4 mile in the sea I could still see my feet.  Most of the bars were ready to shut and some real cheap nights could be had - and did. Best price for a drink was 1.50 euros (£1.07)for a pint of San Migel (I cant remember the name of the bar, but it was next to the tradeways chippy), worst would be 4.75 euros (£3.40)for a WKD (That was at the London Inn).  

Due to the time of year everywhere was quiet, except for street traders, which are a real pain, especially when you are eating. Thats about it really.  I would go back but like everywhere, everyone has their own tastes, so try it and paint your own picture.  P.s try the go karts, a bit expensive but really good fun.

we visited alcudia recently our first time there booked thro the internet with panorama travel.first of all belleuve is a brilliant place and caters for all ages. plenty of kids activities. apartments are spacious comfortable and really clean.beds made every day and towels changed most days as well.staff very friendly. the resort itself is very busy ,the beach is awesome. 

try a 20 minute walk from the main beach to port alcudia, see hoe the other half live. big marina and plenty of fine restraunts.i found alcudia a bit expensive compared to mainland spain[ no happy hours here]a word of warning, when booking tours beware of the presentation display during the trip. this consists of an hour and a half talk and show offering blankets pillows and mattresses[ very pricey 5ooeuros for a mattress].  a waste of time  we left our hotel at 0845 and didnt arrive in palma[ usually a 45 minute drive away]till noon. lots of irate trippers. we enjoyed alcudia but a week was enough did most things in one week.

although we enjoyed our stay i dont think we would return there again.  for good food entertainment, and craic try yummys across from the complex.

Just got back from the Bellevue and after reading a few reveiws was not suprised to find our room (Minevra 1)was not cleaned on arrival, after calling reception and reporting the problem we got assured a maid would come up as soon as possible.  After returning from an evening meal around four hours later we found the room still not touched rubbish on the tables unmade dirty beds, bins full, Ready to have a good moan we found an envelope under the door saying "sorry here is your new room", we got moved to the next floor to room 502 which was to our satisfaction and also had a pool view this time, At first we was not very happy but after being moved things improved, okay well the weather never but there is quite alot to see and do on site and it is MASSIVE! our balcony was like a sun trap and when the sun did come out we got burnt jus sitting there for 5 minutes.

Although the pool did get very busy i did not find the noise to be too much, Its more funny listening to the Reps getting the kids to join in, although every morning "wakey wakey shakey shakey" got a bit much!! This palce is brilliant if you have kids!!

Of an evening we found the onsite entertainment very good although sometimes quite tacky! enjoyed it more when the weather was bad and it was inside! but the Lunas bar had good entertainment and Cheers is a good night out if your up for a good party.  I would go back here again but i can imagine it would get very busy in the height of season.

The beach is a ten minute walk away and is beautiful, you can walk out for miles!

we never done any excersions due to only takin this holiday as a last minute get away to do nothing, but they all seemed very good days out although some seemed very expensive, Although we did go horse riding for one hour (booked in reception) this was very enjoyable and more worth doing the 2 hour trek as you go up the mountain, (wish we had done so)

I do recommened hiring a car (something else we never done but wish we had) the island seems very beautiful.
So enjoy if you decide to go here, we did and WILL be going back!

After reading the reviews about this place I was worried but should not have been as our holiday was fantastic!!

Even rain on our first day could not dampen a great time. We were in Leda apartments and were first allocatd one on the 5th floor but when I explained I didnt like heights the reception gladly swapped it for us to a 2nd floor room. The room itself was immaculate and well eqiupped. I had not expected microwave, coffeee maker, television as these normally are extras. We had a balcony looking towrads the lake, shops and showgarden but with a date tree beside it so it was not overlooked. Perfect for sunbathing!

The bars, restaurants and show garden on site were ace. They catered to all tastes and my son had great fun. There is even an enclosed playground on one side of some of the bars which meant we could sit and relax as he played.
The direct holidays Kids Club was an absolute godsend! My son loved it and we got a break. Hip Hop Hayley and Cool Jules were fantastic with the kids and must have patience of saints as my son is no angel!! He still mentions Hayley and wants to go back to see his 'girlfriend' evry week!

We went on a trip to see Pirates which was excellent but is pricy!! Especially as my son wanted the sword, t-shirt etc. The show itself is absolutely amazing though with many talented people.

We also went on a trip to a market (sorry cant remember name but the place with all the leather goods!). It was alright but a lot of the same stuff. I was looking for a football shirt to take home but ALOT were bad fakes!!
The entertainment staff were excellent in the showgarden and throught the day with activitites for kids over 4 or adults. My husband did some pistol shooting and I did rifle shooting and archery. Taigo, one of the staff, was an absolute scream!!

I saw the pool areas being cleaned every night with maintenance coming round daily to check the pool water as well. The maids were very friendly and we got clean towels whenever we left out, she didnt just hang them up. The sheets were changed quite a few times as well.

The restaurants outside the site were lovley especially Tivoli Terrace outside the gates. I recommend the kebab on a skewer cooked freshly for you on the bbq it was heavenly. The only criticism is the menu prices were printed without their version of VAT (IVA) which is mentioned in small print at bottom. So you think it is cheaper than the rest until you get the bill!! Still a good price though but I believe other places do this as well.

My only other moan is the traders trying to sell you squeaky flashing junk just because you have a child. It is rubbish and well overpriced (They sell it 5 euros but in shops for 1 euro!). They hassle you too much to try make a sale. Saying that I have seen them in every holiday destination I have ever been so this is no different.

Overall we would highly recommend going here as we will definatly be back!!

'The Most Disappointing Holiday Ever'. A 2 bed apt in Fedra I was verybasic. 1 bedroom didn't even have a window. There was a constant smell of stagnent water coming from the small lake surrounding the resort and an annoying humm coming from the on-site Go Karting circuit until 11pm. The complex is several apt buildings and approx. 6 pools. I didnt see anyone cleaning the pools during the holiday. 

About 2 days before the end of the holiday, my 2 yr old daughter started to run a high fever and began vomiting. On our return to the UK she began to refuse to go to the loo as it was so painful. The first question i was asked on her admission to A & E was if we had been abroad and used the swimming pool. Her water sample confirmed she had caught  E-Coli and this was from the hotel pool. I will not be returning to Bellevue and I certainly would NOT recommend it to a friend.

I have just come back from the bellevue hotel which i thought was great. 

the appartment was clean and a reasonable size for 5 people. we stayed in menerva2, our pool was nice and tidy there was all day entertainment on and kids club. We ate out most nights and the place we went most was the 'LUNAS GRILL' was went for two weeks and ate there 6 times the food was just fanastic. you have to visit the pancake man who is situated just before the humpback bridge you can have what ever you want for £1.20. If your into fishing its a good idea to bring a little fishing rod as there is canals running all the way throgh the hotel complex. Bring insect repelant as there is mosquitos but very rarely. 

the beach is a 10-15 minite walk out the main gate and right down the mainstreet all the way, dont bother taking the boat its a rip off. the beach is a lush stretch of gold sand and the water stays knee hight for 30-40 metres which is great for the kids. If you go on excertions dont go with the reps as it is more expensive go with no frills excertions just outside the complex. i also recommend the western water park which is hours drive to palma but it well worth the money. 

I WOULD DEFINATLY RECOMMEND IT AND I WOULD GO BACK NEXT YEAR.

We have just returned from our holiday at the Bellevue Apartments and cannot understand what everybody is complaining about.

We found our apartment clean, it had a double bed and a single bed, bedding and towels were changed reguarly. There was plenty of room around the swimming pools and i thought i was a good idea to have 3 pools 1 for babies,1 for older children and 1 for adults. 

The entertainment was very good especially the Disney show.I found all the staff friendly and helpful. We ate a couple of times in the dining room even though we were self catering and found the food to be very good and there was an excellant variety with plenty to choose from.I really don`t know what some of these people are complaining about it seems some people complain about anything and everything perhaps they have nothing better to do! You must try Tradewinds for the best fish and chips in Alcudia,also the crpe man is amust see.Also try the large kebabs they are BIG!

All in all we had a very enjoyable 10 days and would recommend the Bellevue in fact our daugher and son in law are taking their children there next year.

After arriving to Majorca into the rain, and freezing weather, had a transfer of around 50 minutes to the resort of Alcudia, which went quite quickly.  We then checked into our hotel (we were in the Diana I) we were all really pleased by the size and location of the accommodation.  We dropped our bags off and went to look around the complex and then for a Burger King, there are 3 burger King's along the main Bellevue strip one being directly over the road from Reception.  The Complex is HUGE but there is something for everyone. 

Woke up on the Sunday morning and it was like being in the UK still, so cold, never took any warm clothes with us, but hey were on holiday, so we took a walk down to the beach, which is absolutely gorgeous.

Monday brightened up a bit in the afternoon, so we spent most of the day round the pool at the Diana 1, which was great, a lovely shallow end for my daughters to playin.  The rest of the week was scorching, we spent a lot of time down the beach as there were an awful lot of flies around the pools at Bellevue, which was a bit off putting, as the pools were lovely.  The beach is just perfect, you can't fault it at all. 

Places we went to eat were the Nevada for breakfast (nearly everyday), Lunas for a kebab, Beautiful, the White Rose, tried to get a table at the geordie pub called "Canny Lad" but was always too busy, the Peach Pit was excellent entertainment for the kids, they have Bob the Builder there one night, baby Pom another and a kids disco and karaoke.  The DJ Neil is really funny as well.  The do a 3 course dinner for 8 euros, where you have loads to chose from.  We also ate at cheers bar.  We went on the horse and carriage that wes 28 eurios for half hour, and we also went on the open top coach trip rpund alcudia and the old town, which was nice to see and that was 15 euros for adults and 6 euros for kids over 2.

Overall it was an excellent holiday enjoyed by all, especially my 5-year-old who didn't want to come back home.  the only downfall was the flies and mozzies.  I have come home with a swollen foot from a bite

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We booked our holiday through Expedia and we didn't pay a great deal for our 10 day break!  If you are after a cheap and cheerful budget holiday, then Bellevue is perfect for you, most of all perfect for families. It was better than we had expected when we arrived, and on a good weather day it's actually quite attractive.  

The pools are ok although we only got time to see 4 of them (the complex is huge - very butlins but 'slightly' classier).  The best pool is by the Sirena 1 complex and this faces the lake and has a beautiful view, especially as you catch the last few rays in the evening.  It's also the most peaceful of the pools.  We stayed in the Minerva 2 buliding. Our balcony backed onto one of the main roads in Alcudia - which isn't particularly noisey.  We almost faced the 'Mad Crepe mans shop' - You'll see, I recommend you go there - the crepes are amazing!!  

Our room was a studio, very clean, it looked good and a perfect size for 2 people.  There was only one complaint - that there wasn't much in the way of dishes etc, we did end up eating our cornflakes out of a glass jug on many occassions!  The maid service was very good.  Out of our 10 day stayed we had a service for 8 of those. The resort has beautiful beaches, however I would suggest walking a bit further (5 mins)to right as you enter the main beach.  Sand is gorgeous, water goes out for about 2 miles before it hits your knees. The water is clear, shallow and very warm.  If you want a nicer, quieter area where it's more Spanish than English then walk to the right over the bridge - It's gorgeous there! Alcudia, unfortunately for us didn't offer anything in the way of nightlife - however, if it's just a beach holiday with a good choice of restaurants you are after then the resort is perfect.  

I would only recommend the holiday we had - Bellevue & Alcudia to families.

Booked a 2 week break to the Bellevue Sept 3rd - 17th. Had an excellent time. Were dropped off right at our apartments on the Sat night. To our surprise we had a 2 bedroom apartment between the 2 of us which is handy seeing as my boyfriend snores like a pig!! We had a big balcony that overlooked the pool, Lake Esperenza and the sea behind that, so we were pleased. We even had a tv with BBC1 and Skysports!! Apartments are clean and we had maid service every 3 days.

We stayed at Fedra 1 which is the furthest away from the reception but only a 10 minute walk & probably quieter anyway seeing as the main strip is just right accross from the reception.
Only bad points were the people above us that constantly scraped chairs etc in the middle of the night?! Why do they do that?!

Would recommend it to anyone especially families with kids. Theres plenty on the site to keep everyone happy and the kids entertainers are friendly and get everyone involved. They even star in some of the shows that are put on in the Show Garden!! where thay get their energy i dont know!!

Theres shows on every night at the show gardens and we went to see the Westlife tribute band who were excellent and a few others that were not bad.

When you go out the bellevue you are right on the busy strip where there is an abundance of pubs and restaurants. the beach is amazing & the trip to Formentera we booked through No Frills excursions was excellent.

I would go back but definitely not July or August as the pool was busy enough in September!!

If you have booked up to go, you'll have a great time

on reading resort reviews on this site i was a bit appprehensive on booking this holiday, although it turned out allright in the end.

the accomodation overall was ok , an bit tatty around the edges but as it was end of season and considering the price i paid i cannot complain.

high points of the holiday were the days spent at the beach, as its clean and shallow and the weather was great.

the pancake man was great and we put on several notches on the belt, hes just opposite minerva 1 where we stayed.

reps where nowhere to be seen but we dident care we booked all our trips on the main street with a company called nofrills, cheaper and none of the usual sales patter.

plane delayed on the way back, 2 hours. as usual no reps to be seen, but what can they do anyway?

will go back but 4 star next time

After reading many of the reviews for Bellevue I was dreading our holiday but we had absolutely nothing to worry about. We arrived at the apartments at 6.30am, tired & grumpy, but were pleasantly surprised with what we found. For a start the reception staff in Fedra 1 were extremely helpful. We stayed in Fedra 2 which is about a 5 min walk from the main reception & probably the furthest away! 

The room was quite basic but clean. We had more than adequate kitchen facilities, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans etc but to be honest we never really used them much. The bathroom was fine with a powerful shower and hot water every time we had one which was twice a day, every day. We got plenty of clean towels and our bedding was changed too. The hotel was, on occasion,  quite noisy for example you could furniture being moved, other peoples buzzers ringing and people on the corridors outside but it was not enough to cause too much irritation. We hired a fan at 18 euros for the week. The room was quite warm without it but not unbearable.

We didn't make much use of the facilities on the complex but did have a wander round and it looked pretty good, especially for families with children.

The pool for Fedra 2 seemed to be very busy with lots of children but we went to the beach every day. I did notice that there was quite alot of flies around the pool. The beach is a pleasant 10-15 minute walk down the main street. You can get a boat from the hotel but we didn't bother with that. The beach was lovely with white sand, plenty of sun loungers (although you might struggle to get them after lunchtime) & gorgeous blue sea.

We found Nevada & Tivoli Terrace to be good for breakfasts, usually 5 euros including a drink. At the Red Lion Pub on the complex you could get a fairly decent 3 course meal for 8 euros. Apart from that we usually ventured off the complex to eat and found most places were reasonable.

You can get reception to order you a taxi to the harbour area for 5 euros. It was nice to go there in the evening for a walk, a nice meal & just for a change of scenery. The Tex Mex grill restaurant was very good. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the Old Town but what we saw in passing looked very nice.

Overall I would say Alcudia is a great resort for families and children. At 27 it was a little quieter than we would have liked but we still had a great time. At the end of the day your holiday is what you make it. I hope this helps in planning for your holiday!

we have visited the belle vue several times we went back in august 2005 this year and would describe it the best holiday resort in the island, there was lots to do in the complex and our room was always clean and tidy.we found the best place to eat on the island is olas where we found the staff to be very friendly and always helpful, we also found that alcudia has a lovely beach where you can walk for miles. 

definatly plan to go back again next year and would highly recomend it to anyone .

We bothed worked in the Bellevue apartments - the Showgarden!we lived in the Apollo apartments in Bellevue and we both thought that the accommodation was excellent, the maid service was regular and gave clean towels and fresh linen often, if you needed anymore clean towel and linen then you can get them from reception. the kitchen was resonable, it was quite small but they provide the basic facilities, like a kettle and a toaster.there are many supermarkets (spar) around the complex that you can get food and drink from.the apartments are not air conditioned, but the reception hire fans out, we would reccommend that you by fans from a local shop especially if you are there for two weeks because it would be much cheaper in the long run.also there is a TV in the room which you have to pay for bbc1 etc for 30e a week.
i think that when you go you have to except that its the largest complex in Spain.

the reception is very reliable and the staff that work there are very helpful and speak good English.

the restaurant, the pizzeria and cafeteria all sell freshly cooked food. the restaurant and cafeteria cater for the all inclusive, where as the pizzeria does not!the pizzeria is a nice place to go for a meal!

the showgarden is brilliant for all ages, and families. there is a mini disco for the children and the bingo for everyone which is a great atmoshpere. also there are adult games between mini disco and one of the many shows throughout the week, which include: Westlife, Robbie Williams, Madonna, Abba, Elvis, the Beatles, Disneyshow and Grease. the bar staff are very friendly and helpful, most of them speak good English.

we think that if you go the Bellvue apartments you will have a GREAT holiday!

Just returned from alcudia. bellevue isnt as bad as all the reveiws depict plenty to do on site if you look for it.

Wasnt very crowded considering size of complex look for a pool to suit your needs.Did find the smell of sewerage in apartments at times very offensive although appartments very clean.Many food options available best being the buffet 9 euros adults 4.5 kids all you can eat on Bellvue site good value.Drinks expensive in show garden.Beautiful beach and sea is very shallow and clear not to crowded  lovely boat ride across the lake takes to the beach.Enjoyed pirate show and rancho grande.Also done caves of Drach trip to much crammed in one day not enough time at each place.Airtours reps very good on site and entertainment team were good .Plenty of bars and restaurants outside complex as well. mosis really anoying very hot as well. 

Ideal place for families.

After reading lots of reviews wasn't sure what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised.
The rooms at the Bellevue were spacious and very clean
The pools and surrounding areas were also very well tended and very spacious.
We ate out all the time and found Luna's the best value with excellent food and great entertainment.
Spent one night down at the port of Alcudia where we couldn't get a drink in one of the Restaurants even though it was only quarter full (miserable waiter) seems to be a different attitude there.

All in all I would totally recommend it.

First time we had been to majorca.
We went from gatwick with first choice as soon as we arrived at the airport we could check our bags in and we where an hour early for check in.
The flight was quite quick a couple of hours and the food on board was not bad the usual roast chicken you get.
We got on a coach at the airport and took about 1 1/2 hours to get from palma to alcudia we were the last drop off about 4 or 5 before.

When we pulled in to Bellevue we could not believe the size of the place it's like a small town it's huge.
We stopped at the main reception whilst the tour operator went to see where we were staying.
We were in Minerva 2 which the coach took us to and dropped us off outside.
The block we were in was 8 floors high but had two lifts but only fit about 3 people in with luggage.
I did request when i booked the holiday for a ground floor apartment we got the 6th floor.
But now glad we did as it was really hot and we could leave the patio doors open and windows open at night and then it was just right.

We had a 2 bed apartment with 2 balconies one was tiny but the other was a pretty good size.
The apartment itself was really good, good size rooms large sitting room and descent sized kitchen and nice sized bathroom and was very clean.
They have entertainment every night the host was a bit camp but that seems to be the norm these days.
The entertainment was very good, we seen robbie williams, elvis, abba, and a few more but can't remember what they were.

on site there is loads to do we have 3 teenagers and they loved it. they where gone for hours swimming in the many swimming pools, the best pool was the one outside the Minerva 1 for our kids as they have games and allsorts through out the day with The vibe team. my son was a poor swimmer when we got there by the end of the week he was really good thanks to the vibe team helping him they also taught him to dive properly and turned out to be good at that.
They also had scuba diving in this pool.
Other things my kids like on the resort were trampoleaning excuse the spelling. The F1 go cars which did 45 mph although 20 euro's for about 10 minutes i thought was a bit pricy.
My youngest son bought a fishing rod on site for about 6 euro's and did some fishing was well happy to catch some fish some were a good size also.

For shopping they have some shops on site like spar's but if you go just outside the main entrance there is a supermarket called Colber's which had more than the spar shops and was slightly cheaper.
There is a crazy golf place called tropical golf and they have a tex-mex type resturant don't eat there the food is rubbish and when you arrive they give everyone a small pot of chilli and a couple of bread roll and when you get your bill you find they charged you for them. Bloody Cheek....
There are two really good pub type resturants outside the bellevue one is next to the Hyper renter car but can't remember the name. They say it's an english bar/ resturant but they are spanish but they do put dell boy on the tv what more would you want. Anyway went there about 3 times for dinner, excellent 3 course meal for 7 euro 80 and also for breakfast about 3 euro's and they where always frendly.
Also there is Yummy Yummys they also do excellent food at good prices we had dinner there one day and breakfast another load of bacon on just the average english breakfast.
Also luna's resturant is excellent the food is out of this would and they cook it all on barbaques burning wood highly recommended.

Cheers bars don't go there unless you want to stick to the table and all the tables were falling down it was disgusting health and safety would have a field day here if they have such a thing over there.

I recommend you got to the crephe man by the bridge outside the Bellevue you cant miss it as there is always a crowd of people there he dances while he make's the crephes
or maybe he is disabled but the food is lovely and he put loads of stuff in them.
Mind the hair braiders by the bridge they seem to be in packs and we had one chase us down the road until i said f*** o***
I never usally swear i hate it but thats the only thing that stops them.

We did go on a tour with 1st choice called big splash for 39 euro's each 195 euros for myself and the wife and 3 kids which included a dinner voucher for burger, chips and a beer or coke for kids.  It went to Aqualand at El Arenal which was not far from palma which was an hours coach journey excellent water park loads to do and some huge ride's.

After we did that we decided to hire a car out which we got from hyper renter car outside the bellevue resort being august they could only get us a car for 5 days and we ended up with a hyundia getz bit small for us really but better than nothing and it had air con and electic windows that cost us 195 euro's for the 5 days.

we went to Western water park also and it has a cowboy them cost us 90 euro's to get in by driving there ourself so thats half the car paid for in saving from the 1st choice tours.
Thw western water park is a must for anyone with kids or love water parks. I have been to a few water parks but this is the best ever, They put shows on through out the day which are excellent.

Caves of Drach in Porto Cristo is also a good day out but you are only in the cave's for an hour and it's a steep walk down a few hundred feet and a steep walk back up the caves are all differant colours and is really nice.
They won't let you take pictures in the caves or video and they have people in there every few hundred yardsand if they see you taking pictures they tell you NO PICTURE'S but no one took any notice.
When you get to the bottom of the caves its a bit cooler and have wooden seats where every one site as soon as everyone is seated they turn the lights out and it's pitch black you can't even see you hand in front of your face.
But then you see some lights comming along the underground lake which is three rowing boats with a mini orchestra on playing music this is really good.
After thats finished you can get a trip on a rowing boat but to honest i wouldn't bother as there will be 200 waiting for the rowing boat trip and they only take you 100 ft.

Please don't go to the Auto Safari Zoo in Sa Coma the animal have little food if they have any and half the pens had no water for the animal.
They have a tiger show but they only have 1 tiger and 3 or 4 leapards and a mountain lion.
The chap who does the show keeps hitting the animals with a stick, he should be hung drawn a quartered for that and the zoo should be closed down. its the worst zoo i have ever been to and they are cruel.

If you want to get fags and that to take home go to Pto Alcudia about 1 1/2 miles from bellevue there is a lot more shops there and the beach is out of this world.
We also went to the old town but this was mostly spanish people here.

All in all excellent holiday better if the Bellevue was in the south of the island but you can't have everything.
If you see comments about the bellevue smells ignore it.
Its the whole island i noticed and it does not smell all the time just every now and then you get a waft og it must be poor spanish sewer system.

After reading all the comments on this sight i was becomming slightly worried, due to the fact that this was our first family holiday abroad.

When we reached the resort it was 4.00am so as you can imagine not much to see.
But when we got up in the morning what a pleasent suprise we all had it was lovely.
The appartment was clean the resort was clean and plenty  to do for the children.
All the bars had excellent food for excellent value.
Beaches were clean not much more to ask for we didn,t think.
We all had a wonderful time and hope to go back one day. 
J P bar seemed to be the best restaurant for us, very English very clean and good value for money.  Our children loved to eat there.

Water park,  Well it was good but to be honest i thought it was going to be bigger but the kids thought it was brill.
Marine land,  Well that certainly is a place you must go, we had an excellent afternoon there but be worned to go with an excursion which includes a Blanket trip
as the kids will be bored.  It is cheaper to go on these type of trips but not worth it unless you want to buy a blanket on your holiday (LOL).
But i must say that Marine land is the place you must go.

Well enjoy your holiday   We did.

We booked our accomodation & flights separately and didn't use any operators. Flights were with Excel and were fine, got a taxi from Palma airport to Alcudia that took 45 minutes and cost 60 Euros inc. a tip.

We found the Bellevue to be a fantastic hotel and had a great time there.

It is a huge complex with plenty to do for the kids e.g. about 10 pools, mini fairground, go karts (both mini & full size),  tennis & squash courts, mini golf, trampolines, kids disco every night and motorised scooters, bikes and karts to hire.

The entertainment each evening was in the show garden which has about 500 to 1000 people in it each night. It's all outdoor and starts with a kids disco, then bingo, then the main attraction ie elvis tributes, madonna tribute ... all were pretty decent and put on a good, professional show.

Our room was a little small but nothing to get upset about. We had a toaster, kettle, microwave and tv (which had bbc 1, sky news, sky sports & a movie channel that showed stuff like spiderman 2, pirates of the caribbean, star wars trilogy, etc), also we saw no ants at all and found the rooms (and the entire hotel and grounds for that matter) to be very clean and pleasant. If you want your room serviced by the cleaners you have to put a sign around the door handle (this is in the room) and they will clean it every day if you want them to. They will change towels left in the bath but no others, so any you want changing throw in the bath.

hotel entrance is on the main strip of restaurants and bars, good places to eat was the american place (out of belle vue and left) and roma (out of belle vue and right and then to bottom of road) really nice food with good service. cheaper options (but still tasty) were yummy yummys, jp's, big bens and the nevada (which did a great breakfast).

just so you know, we're not a gang of chavs  looking for blackpool in the sun but are probably a bit snobbish when it comes to holidays and can assure you this place is superb for families.hotel great, staff friendly and helpful, resort lovely and beach was perfect ... you & your kids will LOVE it !!!!

Having read alot of reviews before going to Alcudia we were not looking forward to our stay, but I must say we throughly enjoyed our holiday from start to finish. We stayed in Minerva 2 in room 524 whiched appeared to be one of the bigger apartments.

Everything on and off site was in easy reach, the beach was a pleasent 10 minute walk turn right out of the gate and just keep going. There is a boat on site that will take you to the beach but at 3 euros for a return trip and you still have a walk we found this to be a bit of a rip off.The Colber supermarket just on the right ot of the gate is a lot cheaper than any of the Spars on site. The evening entertainment on site is excellent we saw tribute bands of Westlife, Abba, Madonna, Elvis, and the camps tribute to Grease was especially good, Robbie Williams was the only disappointing act we saw. The Evening comper Jesus (pronounced HeyZeus)was brilliant he managed to call the bingo in at least 5 different languages. I would advise you to take mosquito repellent with you or make the chemist outside the gate your first port of call. We ate breakfast and evening meals in different restaurants outside the camp and found most of them to be good value. The Nevada and Yummy Yummy were excellent.The Camp and apartments are very clean the maid cleans the apartments every other day when all linen and towels are changed.

All the pools are spotless, if you can't get a lounger there is always plenty of room on the grass just lay your towel on the grass and enjoy the sun.The camp is ideal for families there are kids clubs with loads of things for the kids to do.There is no need to leave the camp as everything is there on site. I had read the camp described as Butlins in the sun, if only Butlins was that good? I would recommend this holiday to anyone just go and see for yourself you won't be disappointed.

This is the first time we have been to Alcudia, (although we have been to Majorca twice before) and we went there on advice from many areas.We were aparty of 2 adults a 14yr daughter and 11yr son. On arrival I don't think we were ready for the size of the complex!! It's nearly as big as the resort itself!!
Resort.
Accommodation was adequate and used really as a base, we were on the second floor of 4, the sockets in the room were poorly maintained,the small hours were noisy with groups coming back at all times, singing and shouting. The Bellevue is so big it holds upwards of a thousand people so it was very busy!!
Just outside the Bellevue is a supermarket called the 'Colber' which was much cheaper the the on-site one.
Beach.
As we are a beach family we found the beach approx 3rd of a mile along the Bellevue promenade and it was as good a beach as we have seen, very clean, the water is ideal for young ones you can wade out for around 200m before the water is up to your thighs, poor snorkelling though - little to see for the youngsters, although you can go out on a glass bottom boat. Loads of water sports average price 10 euros. There are also some good walks along the beach.

Eating out.
Reasonably priced food if you shop around, we found 'Cheers' restaurant served our needs, great staff, good portions for all cost about 25 - 35 euros for a three course meal. 'Linekers' for football and the 'All star' were good bars that we found.
Taxi to Puerta Pollensa cost 13 - 14 euros we couldn't get on the bus on the market days!! (thursdays)
We did a show 'Sonamar' and the 'Western water park' which were pricey but good fun

We arrived back yesterday 30/08/05 from our holiday. We read all the reviews on this site before we left and went with an open mind. We stayed in Minerva 1 in a one bedroom apartment with our children aged 3 and 5. It was very clean and spacious. The kitchen is basic but has everything you need to rustle up a snack. The maid came every other day and changed the towels and cleaned up.

We found all the staff on the resort to be very friendly and helpful, the airtours rep was based in our building and was there everyday. The resort and the pools were kept clean. The kids club was good, you get a free T shirt, hat and drinkning bottle if you booked through Airtours, if you are not with Airtours you can still use the kids club but it will cost you 5 euros a session.

We ate breakfast on the resort everyday but chose a different resturant everynight along the main road to the beach. Tivoli just outside the resort is good if you have yourng children as there is a playpark at the back of the resturant and the food is nice too.

There are alot of mosquitos but the repellents is about 5 euros and works well so we didn't have any problems with bites.

Would recomend it to families.

Pretty good holiday village apart from the food (good restaurants just outside, try the Tivoli opposite as has kids play area at the back). Drunk teenagers also a problem outside the Morrocco bar at the Bellevue as parents go to show gardens and leave the kids unnattended (avoid this by going to the show garden which has pretty good entertainment). And the last problem was the cleaning but this can be sorted by complaining loudly to the reception staff in your block. Otherwise the holiday was fab. 

The resort is beautiful, the sea was blue, the sand was golden, the bars were fun, the entertainment around the Bellevue itself and the resort was good and varied. The pools were fun espacially the one next to the spar and the one next to Minerva I. Lots of shopping and gifts. i would go again but I would go self catering next time.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We went to Belle Vue on 22nd july 2005 for 2 weeks.
I was dreading after reading the reports on line after booking ,but was so surprised on arrival.
We hired a car from europa gold at palma airport (£160) for the 2 weeks and it takes around 50 minutes from palma to the resort.

On arrival we were directed to out appartments .no problems as they spoke excellent english.
We stayed in Leda 11 (which in my opinion is the nicest blocks as directly over the pool and reception and the day time entertainment /childrens clubs all ran from here.) It was a short walk to the show gardens for the evening entertainment/fairground so not too noisy.Evening entertainment ended at midnight ,so not too late.
My kids loved the kids club and went swimming,horse riding,pool games etc from 11 - 1.30 and 3 - 5
each day.

The poolside did get busy but as long as you had a bed by 9am or after 3 you were ok.If not there are 7 pools in total in the complex.There are life guards.
We had a 1 bedroom place with 2 singles in one room ,a single in the lounge in a bedroom area and a pull out sofa bed.The only downside was the kitchen that was very small and had a microwave and 2 small rings to cook on,limited pots etc.Not really for self catering entirely.
You need to hire fans (18 euro each)as very hot around 32 -40 each day while we there.
Show garden was very good,probaly liked west life and robbie williams best.Drinks in rhere dear though .
Lunas grill in high street probably does best food and a family of far dinner and drink was usually around 50 euro for us.
Food was cheaper in the english type things there but we never went to them.
Lots of karaoke bars too.
Hair braiders did keep on ,but a firm no was ok.Not a problem.
We drove to beaches and coves which were beautiful-calla agulla etc.Very quiet and stunning ,all around 25 minutes away.

A day in the formrntor mountains is a must too.End up on a beautiful tiny beach with boat rides etc.
All in all a fantastic holiday.Thouroughly reccomend

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Myself and my family have been going to the Bel vue for the past 4 years now and have booked to go back this year yet again.
After going all over Spain over 25 years including, Palma Nova, Benidorm and Salou, we always agree that this complex is the best ever.  It has everything you need and we didn't venture out of the show garden many nights or for long. We sometimes went to the Irish bar which was just over the bridge and then headed back to the showgarden for the entertainment. 
All 11 children loved the kiddies clubs, the kiddies disco and the swimming pools and when you have 10 children aged between 1 and 9 years old that is a definate plus!!

We stayed in the Minerva 1 apartments and after arriving at about 3am we were greeted by friendly staff and beautiful clean rooms.
Next morning we went down to the pool which was busy but when you have 3 pools near hand that's not a problem.  The kids also loved the wee boat ride over the lake to go to the beach.  The 2 men who operated this were very welcoming and very nice to both the children and adults. They were also very helpful when we had a few prams to bring on board and some inflatables too!!

The beach itself is gorgeous and we felt very safe with the knowledge of havoing a lifeguard nearby at all times.  The water is so warm and so shallow we were able to bring some of the older children a good wee bit out into the sea and I was still able to touch the sand bed.  The children loved that extra bit of freedom and loved the fact they were able to go a bit further out than usuall without getting shouted at!!

There is also a small fairground kind of thing with some rides for the children which our lot enjoyed very much, from the trapolines to the small water boats to the fun house that was a definate stop off.  And also the large play park that is round the corner from the show garden is also a definate bonus!

The views are absolutely beautiful and the people there were so kind I would recommend this complex to anyone!! 
Our numbers for this years holiday have went up from 20 people to 30 and the extra 10 are so excited and that is not just the kids!!

The on;y thing that I would like to point out that because you are near a lake there is a lot of mozzies so would reccomend taking some mozzie repellent but thankfully we haven't had too much trouble with them.
Yummy Yummy's is a definate place to go to and also another restuaraunt which the name I cant remember, was very reasonably priced also.  A three course meal for 7 euros and 50 cents.

bellevue apartment i cant complain about anything, as everything was spot on, maid service came every other day and staff at reception were very friendly and helpful.

entertainment - entertain ment was on every night, i was dissappointed in not seeing westlife tribute act, we ad madonna on for 3 nights

best place for food as to be bugs bunny, food really nice and lovely friendly waiters

would definatly go back to the bellevue, we were in minera II block, very good holiday.  hope you enjoy it to

there for a week only seen a first choice rep once

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

This holiday was outstanding, we booked 6 dys before we left and we where very pleased with what we got. Our appt was outstanding, we had a 1 bed appt and the facilities where great, everything we could have wished for.  We found 1 of the quiet pools and spent many hours there and we also went to the beach which is lovely, plenty of sunbeds, and we got the horse and carts back to the appts 10 euros. There are loads of shops, bars and eating places. We went to Marineland and golfing with the reps which was a good day out. 

When food shopping it is cheaper to go to the supermarket outside the village on the main road, which takes about 2 mins to walk to, it is also a good idea to hire a fan, cos it is very hot at night. We will def be returning next yr as this was a brilliant holiday and we loved it.

Bellevue Apartments are very good - Again reading some of the reviews were concerned -
apartments cleaned twice during our one week stay.  The actual block we stayed in was Federer 1 which was the furthest away one from the reception area - although only 5 mins walk.
The beach is about 15 mins away and is certainly worth a visit - lovely white sand; clear water and plenty sunbeds if you want them at 3 euros each. Fully recommend the rubber rings - you get taken on them by a speedboat and you must try to stay in; banana boat not much fun.  If you have the money do the paragliding - well worth it.
Along the boulevard are plenty of places to eat and the best we found was Yummy Yummy just outside the entrance to the apartments you get a 3 course meal for 8 euros per person.  Avoid Big Bens - not very good service. 
Nightlife is there if you want it - the shows are quite good although a few are dubbed!
No Frills excursions are very good and are the cheapest for trips within Majorca - they can be found within the complex and quite near Federer 1.

All in all a very good holiday and fully recommended by us all - we did our own flights; booked through Suncentre.com and then got Majorca Airport Travels to take us to the apartments and back - well worth booking them - very efficient.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

Bellevue is huge - so if you get apartments on the other side of the complex (we did) be prepared for a walk!
Each apartment block has it's own pool - ours was Fedra and the pool was very busy so we used other pools that were quieter.
Plenty of supermarkets to buy food - but buy in town to save a few pounds.
There was a live show each night which was great some nights and average on others - the tribute acts were the best ones.
We didn't eat at Bellevue but I gather you could get a three course dinner for about 9 euros each (about £6) in the restaurants.

Walk towards the beach (this takes about 10-15 minutes) and there are all the shops and restaurants (the restaurants do tout for business all day so try and get a discount out of them!)

Beach at Alcudia is great - shallow till about 50 yards out so great for kids. Can get a little windy but if anything this just helps you to stay cool! The temperatures were very hot when we were there - high 30's!!! Take high factor sun block - buy in England as it's pricey to buy in Alcudia.

In the evenings, find the Crepes shop for fantastic pancakes and entertaining service!
In the daytime, catch the bus outside Cuidad Blanca hotel and go to the Old Town or Puerto Pollensa (same bus). The Old town is beautiful and has some smaller shops and restaurants to try and Puerto Pollensa is a much quieter resort with a great beach!

just back overall holiday ok too many people for pools had to go to beach 2nd week as pool was to busy.Had to ask for clean towels on 3rd day room and sheets changed once during fortnight.Was in diana 1 building seems further back in the complex ur the more it seems like butlins in the sun. Staff in drunken corner were very nice and meals there great and value for money.

Would go back to alcudia but not bellvue.

Not that much to do in complex unless you are in minerva1 or 2 where all the pool entertainment is.Older kids dont seem to bother if they upset the younger ones trying to play in pool.Also older ones going along corridors on scooters rep said just to be careful. 

beach is great most pubs were good and catered for kids.Cheers was really good for kids .

We are just back from a great two weeks holiday in Alcudia staying at the Bellevue Appts.  

After having read some reviews after booking this holiday I was tempted to change my booking.  I am glad I didn't.  We stayed in Minerva II which was extremely clean and the maid was in very regularly, if not every day then certainly every second day.  Linen and towels were changed regularly.  

The entertainment here was excellent.  The kids enjoyed the mini disco which is on every night at 8.30pm and is then followed by either a tribute act or show.  We saw Westlife, Robbie Williams and a snippet of Elvis.  All were good entertainment.  We also saw the Disney Show and the Grease Show which was put on by the entertainment crew at the Bellevue.  These were great, especially the Disney Show!  The entertainment crew were fantastic and must be shattered at the end of their day!!  They are around the pool during the day for adult and child activities and they are at the Show Garden at night until midnight for the above shows etc.  There was always something to do if you felt like it and if not you could laze around one of the seven pools which were immaculate!

Alcudia itself was fantastic!  The beach is absolutely gorgeous and there are loads of bars and restaurants for every kind of taste.  Just outside the appts there was Lunas where the food was great and the staff were brill!  This was slightly more expensive than other places but was worth it.  The Peach Pit is fantastic for the kids, with a brilliant DJ from England who was very entertaining for the kids and the adults.  There is entertainment for the kids from about 8 or 9 for about an hour or so with visitors like Jake from the Tweenies or Bob the Builder, then games and dancing which was lots of fun for the kids, then after this it was karoake for the adults.  The food here was also great and good value for money.

Yummy Yummy's was just outside the front gate of the Bellevue and was great for a full breakfast and Big Ben was great value and good food with a three course meal for about eight euros!

I would really recommend taking in the Pirate Show in Magaluf but if you book this excursion don't do it through your reps as it is slightly more expensive.  We went with no frills excursions which had a little office just across the road from the Appts.  The journey lasts about an hour and it is well worth it!  Included in the price is your return coach journey, food and free sangria(as much as you can drink) and juice for the kids.  The show was FAB! and I would have paid the money just for the show itself!

Just watch out for the people selling sunglasses and cheap gold chains etc.  They weren't too in your face but are everywhere you go.

If you like cocktails then you must go to Goodfellas.  The staff are really friendly and the cocktails are great - try a 'dogs bollocks' which is fantastic!

We all had a great time and as I said it was brill for the kids and if the kids are happy we are happy!

We are definitely thinking about booking up next year!

Minerva II

We booked our holiday to Alcudia around four weeks before going at quite a cheap price. We just wanted to find time to relax and enjoy ourselves with the rest of my boyfriends family who were going. There was 14 of us altogether but the others stayed in different apartments. I was really worried after reading reviews of this site saying that people had seen rats and cockroaches but in the two weeks all of us were there we didnt even see one.

Alcudia is a brilliant family place. I think we were the only coulpe there without a child!! Even so were enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. The beech is the most cleanest and nicest one i have ever seen and i have been abroad around 10 other times.

We found one place we did really enjoy to eat at and that was the bar underneath the Seista 1 apartments namely the Red Lion. The food was really nice and a three course meal is only 8 euros. Also mr boyfreinds neice and nephew loved the entertainment there and kept them occupied for a goof few hours with Lenny the lion!

The beech is a fair walk around 15 minutes but dont get the boat, your on holiday so get around and walk, it is well worth it!!

Overall Alcudia is the best resort i have ever been to and we have already booked to go again next year. Dont worry and have a great time because we did!

My boyfriend and myself decided to take his 8 year old daughter away for her 1st holiday abroad this year and i think we chose well.

Myself i had read all the reports and had began to regeret where we were going for our holiday but like others have reported some of them were slightly over exaggerated.
We stayed in th Minerva 2 and yes i do agree you need a fan as the building does not have air conditioning but other than that the rooms were fine to me, no signs of ants and they were clean.

One thing i do have comment on is, if you want a sunbed get up early beacuse our entire holiday was spent sunbathing on the grass, we had no chance of a sunbed. personally the grass was ok for us. They where anoucments over the speakers asking people not to hog the beds with their towels but made no effect i regret to say it wasn't the german's towels it was us British.

Anyhow the complex was a safe enviroment for all ages, there were lifegaurds on watch all day which was good to see and for a 1st time holiday for a 8 year old you couldn't ask more.

I felt I had to leave my comments on this site, after returning last night from the Bellevue apartments. I have just spent a week with four teenagers and we all had a fab time. 

The apartments arent top class but they are clean and have the basics. We had tv with bbc 1 sky news etc, microwave kettle toater..two cooking rings and enough cutlery and crockery for our needs. Yes the rooms were hot but we knew that was the case as no air condtioning so just hire a fan for 18 euros a week. there were ants but dealt with by spray. 

The showers were always good and hot. nice balcony. we were at the back of resort and it was so quiet no need for the mantioned earplugs. 

Bellevue facillites are very good and safe, mini golf , tennis, funfair, go karts, plenty of resturants and evening entertainment was very good . A holiday is what you make it. If you want to sit in your apartment and pick fault then of course it will ruin your holiday but we were there to have fun and thats what we did.Go without any worries and enjoy your holiday...it's soon over.

We have just arrived home from our yearly holiday and now feel depressed as we had an excellent time.

We booked our holiday a year ago with tvtravel shop, i had heard of the bellevue as we stayed in alcudia before and knew it was a big complex but was worried when i had read the comments about the comlex once we had booked, tried to cancel but was told i would have a good time, arrived at 12.15pm and was pleasantly greeted by our rep who took us directly to our apartment. We had everything we needed in our 2 bedroom apartment (was worried considering travelling with 3 young children)we even took our own kettle as we read about the comments but we had a kettle & toaster 2 ring hob(didnt plan to cook as im a school cook and for the kids) so wasnt a problem,maids cleaned every other day and if you needed clean towels you just had to ask. We had a great holiday have got no complaints apart from having to come home to all the washing and iroining!!!

we ate out at big bens (turn left outside the complex) huge portions and great value for money 8 euros for a 3course meal.lunas was great got to try their kebabs and the pancake man was good to watch.
we went to the hydropark for the day only 15minutes walk.great fun had by all.
if you have booked to go here have no worries we certainly enjoyed ourselves and hope you do too.

Don't panic about the Bellevue. It is a big place but divided up into smaller blocks around individual pools. The pools are vey clean. We were in Federa 2 which is the furthest away from main entrance but it was no problem to walk about as the site is clean and well laid out.The apartments were fine, quite a big main room with a bedroom behind sliding doors. The bathroom is fine with a good shower and there was always hot water. Maid Service was fine. The towels were changed every three times a week and the beds once a week. 

The kitchen was very small but we had a kettle and toaster, good fridge with freezer compartment and two ring cooker. We didn't use it much as the resort had great places to eat. Try Lunas for great kebabs at a reasonable place but basically we were spolit for choice. Don't be afraid to go into the first restaurant opposite the main entranc, its great too. If you want a good laugh go to the Crazy Horse straight up the street opposite the main entrance and past the lake. Paco is a scream. 

The Hydro Park is good value for money and worth a visit. The beach is fantastic. Get the boat if you want to get away from the banana boats and paddle boats. You can walk to the port along the beach in about 20 minutes which is also worth a look. The market in the Old Town was huge too but I think it is worth visiting on non market days too to really get a feel for the place. There was no sign of unwelcome pests either except the mosquitos which unfortunately are not myth. But don't panic, they don't seem to be the man eating creatures I was imagining. A quick spray with a bite and sting remedy and they disappear. I only got back yesterday and have none left ( i only got a few anyway.

In short Alcudia was a great family resort and I would definately go back. The Bellevue might seem overpoweringly big but just think of it as smaller sites and its fine. Reception were very helpful about anything

as this was our first package holiday we were a bit wary to say the least.But we shouldn,t have worried this was excellent.
we were in minerva 1 on the first floor with balcony overlooking the pool,which was perfect for the kids who were in the  pool every day.the complex had everything that you could need.eating out was a great experience for our kids and their gran.street traders eveywhere but polite and do eventually take no for an answer.
the rep (tom)was first rate .
Bad Point -3-4am noisy group at       
the pool every night  kept kids up.

OVERALL THIS  WAS  A TERRIFIC  HOLIDAY
ENJOYED BY THE WHOLE FAMILY.WOULD CERTAINLY DO IT AGAIN..BUT MAYBE WHEN IT,S NOT  SO HOT ..PHEEEEEEEEEEW

Accommodation:
Most people who talk about the belle vue hotel have something bad to say, I'm not one of those people. I don't have a single bad word to say about belle vue.

Resort:
I have been visiting Alcudia every year for the past 6years, and needless to say i cannot find a fault in this family-friendly, lively resort. It is packed with things to do, the boat rides are always worth a go, as well as the hydro park(about a 15minute walk from the belle vue) with its 14 brilliant slides, and palma is always worth a visit, as well as the old town or alcudia and the port.

Bars:
The best bars i visited while being in Alcudia were:
The flying Scotsman(just along from the oh so tacky Cheers),where Mark, Pepe and Soriya make you very welcome.
Einsteins for the twenty-thirty somethings, with the yummy Dru.
The British Oxford where Danny and Miguel are always up to something hysterical.
Venue 21 and Goodfellas are good for preclubbing.
And Bells, Latino and Menta Disco are the best clubs of Alcudia.

Restaurants:
The Tivoli just across the road from the Belle Vue does the best Chicken Escalope (and also has the internet for 5 euros per hour!)
Nevada is brilliant for breakfast and does an amazing cup white coffee to nurse the night befores hang over.
Casa Del Dragon and the Mei Ling are both very good chinese restaurants.

So, if you are worried about visiting the Belle Vue, don't be, it's brilliant!! Don't forget to visit the Flying Scotsaman!! Have a lovely holiday!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

There is very little of interest in Alcudia, just average eating places, average bars and tacky shops selling an endless supply of football shirts. The beach, however, is excellent. You've to walk out miles to get waist deep in water, which is great if you have young children - it's very safe. The seawater is clean, and the beach itself is very sandy. It's also only a 10-15 minute walk from most places in the town.

We were dissapointed with the accomodation. We stayed in Minerva 1, but were allocated the first apartment on the ground floor, right beside the entrance. Not really a problem, and in some ways useful for nipping in and out from the pool.

The things that annoyed me about the apartments and complex were:

1. Very, very basic. Tiny kitchen, two ring oven, impossible to heat the rings, we never used it.
2. One extra bed in the main living area, but the sofa had to be converted for our second child. This meant that the whole living area became a bedroom - where do you sit if you come back to the apartments and the kids go asleep but you're not ready for bed yourself? I would have preferred if we were in a two bedroom apt.
3. Some noise at night-time. Everything is brick, wood and tiles, so you hear every sound. The main culprit was the air hockey machine right beside the apartment entrance. This drove me mad for two nights with people playing it at all hours, then I just started robbing the paddles and that sorted the problem out. But what a stupid place to put the machine in the first place.
4. I don't think the swimming pools are as clean as they should be. I got a very bad throat and ear infection there, it could only have been the pool.

However the accomodation was reasonably clean, towels and sheet were changed regularly, and I didn't pick up on bad odours, although some other people I spoke said they did.

There were a couple of unruly people there, but my overall impression was that the resort was full of fairly middle class British, most of whom kept themselves to themselves and bothered nobody. One problem is that older teenagers use the metal bars separating the kids pool from the shallowest part of the adult pool to play volleyball, this is also the place where the youngest kids are paddling or swimming, I think this shouldn't be allowed. It's not safe for the small kids.

Karting is good fun, but a lttle pricy at 20 euro per person. The lads there were very good to my seven year old though, and made sure he got a clear run on the track, and that no other karts were on while he had his go. Also top marks to the guys who looked after my 10 yeart old for his scuba diving lesson.

Porto Pollenca is nice for an evening out, you can get up there fairly cheaply by taxi. It's a bit more upmarket than Alcudia, nice harbour.

A trip to the Wacky West Water Park is well worth it - I haven't had as much fun in a long time. An hour there and back with about six hours in the Water Park.

Agree with everyone - the Pancake man is something else. A lot of restruants have entertainment, which you mightn't go for at home but is alright on hols.

The street traders didn't bother me. We used to go down to the only Irish pub most nights and they were always hovering around so we just took the piss. Offer them one euro for anything they offer and stick to your price. Basically annoy them more than they annoy you and you'll have a laugh.

Eating out is not cheap - lunchtime is good, but later in the evening for a proper meal, I didn't think it was much cheaper than home. Romas is nice, there's some other place called Lunas was OK too.

Overall we enjoyed our holiday, but I only went for a week. I think that two weeks would drive you mad - quite simply Alcudia is not interesting enough and there's no luxury in the accomodation whatsoever.

Since I've seen it now, I won't be going back - I'll try something different next time.

Belle Vue is obviously very family orrientated but i went with my sister and we still had n excellent time, we were gutted when we had to leave.

It's great for kids with pool side games and enough entertainment to please the whole family. It's great for the adults to watch and sometimes join in themselves.

As a younger person the night life was suprisingly lively with good pubs and clubs, including Bell's (our favourite) and menta with an indoor swimming pool which would be fun. Also a club called cheers is also entertaining and children are welcome too.

The food at Belle Vue wasn't particularly great but there are loads of restuarants around alcudia that have decent food (not spectacular though and quite English). The famous Yummy Yummy's served great food.

belle vue have standard CLEAN and decent appartments which is all u need. You only spend a certain amount of time in the appartment. There are mosquitos around but again what's the big deal?! we saw about 4 mosquitos the whole week and they really aren't such a problem.

As for the 'smell' there is a slight smell around the lake but it's really not that bad!

Overall this is a great place for families and people who like english food, there arent many 'majorcan' restaurants. The beach is fabulous i would recommend it to anyone.

There is nothing wrong with this complex at all.

Last year my partner and me went to Playa del Muro which is a short taxi ride away from the Bellevue Area of Alcudia, each night we got a taxi down to the Bellevue strip as we really enjoyed the restaurants and the bars. I am 21 and my partner is 19.

Because we enjoyed it so much we decided to go back this year but book up a hotel nearer the Bellevue Complex. So we went with Direct Holidays and stayed in the Bellevue Complex from 2nd July to 9th July. I went on a few holiday review websites and was devastated to read some of the reviews, I thought we had booked a week in a complete dump and was really gutted, we decided not to worry and just take it as it comes, we knew the resort so even if the hotel was cr*p we knew we would have a good time.

First impressions were good, the airline Direct Holidays use is Monarch, very good airline, big planes and the flight was the best I've ever experienced, normally you can feel the plane rattle as it takes off but I think due to this being a bigger plane it just glided, very comfortable flight there and back.

When we got to the Bellevue complex we were preparing for the worse, so imagine our surprise when we pulled into a large complex set around lakes with little fountains in, also the grounds were well maintained with colourful flowers and trees. The coach took us to Minerva II when we checked in the reception area was very well maintained (we were expecting a bomb site) we went to our room the lifts and corridors were very well maintained as well, the key to the room was electronic, once inside we found a very spacious room with 2 very comfortable beds, kitchenette with everything in working order, bathroom had a shower which worked superb, all this rubbish about not getting hot water at certain times of the day is nonsense! I had a shower every day before 10am and the water was hot, a shower around 2pm and the water was hot, a shower at 6pm and the water was hot and finally a shower at 2am when we got home every night and guess what? The water was hot.

The Bathroom was also well maintained and was all we could of asked for. We had a living area with sofa, chair and table with the TV, when we asked at reception we were told the TV was free, imagine the delight when we found we had access to Sky News, SkySports News, BBC 1, eurosport, never had that in a hotel room before. Balcony was nice, no ants, mosquito's seen all week, so where some people got that it was a problem are having a laugh.

The pool for Minerva II is located next door at Minerva I, large pool with bar, plenty of sun loungers, found the pool area noisy (loads of kids) but what was excellent was being able to move the loungers down onto the grass by the lake, laying there in the sun next to a big lake with palm trees, was so relaxing best sun bathing location ive seen and ive been all over Europe on holiday.
Elsewhere in the complex there is mini golf (good fun, apart from when my girlfriend beat me) tennis, which was a laugh! They have a boat that takes you over to the beach in Playa del Muro.

So all in all a fantasic holiday complex, I couldn't fault it and it makes me wonder why all these people were moaning about it. Infact they are so proactive there on our first day 2 engineers come up to fix the lightbulb in the fridge! We hadn't even reported it as not working, so they are on the ball when any prolems go wrong.

The resort is fantastic, loads of bars, restaurants and clubs, recommend taking a taxi to Playa del Muro only ?5, loads of bars and restaurants down there as well, go to the Rose & Crown for DJ Danes quiz night, he is hilarious.

Felt the need to post this review as anyone thinking of or going to Bellevue shouldn't worry.

Go and enjoy it, I bet you will be back on here posting exactly what I have said.

Just back from an indifferent fortnight in sunny alcudia at the belle vue apartments.

Stayed at Minerva II on the far side overlooking the busiest main road this side of the M25.First thing you notice,no air conditioning,no fan nothing,you are pretty much forced into hiring a fan from reception (18 euros a week,15 euros deposit),it does very little really bar blowing the hot air round the room,but nevertheless an absolute godsend.

Rooms pretty basic,by the way if you,ve booked a twin room be aware what you get is one room with two beds and a camp bed,bit of a swizz really.But by far the biggest nightmare is having to share the average size pool with Minerva I,bearing in mind at one time you have about 750 people sharing about 50 sunbeds,you can imagine the complications involved.We found a great little pool the other side of the Neptuno I hotel directly opposite Minerva II,small pool but very easy to get a speck by the pool.Nightime entertainment very good,particularly Robbie Williams,Factor X (A westlife tribute band},Madonna and the beijing acrobats are particularly good.

Childrens club is absolutely useless,the club itself is based in Ceres 2,which is about 20 minute walk from Minerva 2,the board goes up about 6.30pm for about 15 places for the following days activities,but by the time you get there the places are alrerady taken,pretty poor really,but amazingly when the activities require payment there are an abundance of places,mm funny that..

Good places to eat Yummy Yummy great meal there for 8 euro (about £6),karaoke there ,nice chinese just over the bridge ,opposite the bouncy castle,and for the kids the peach pit is an absolute must,but the childrens entertainment doesnt start till 9.15 so dont get there too early or you'll spend a packet.The Pirates Adventure is a great night out its expensive at approx 160 euros for a family of four,but you get meals and drinks (but no beer,you have to pay seperately for that,but oops they forgot to tell me that),but very good night out,its an hours drive on the coach but we had a good laugh on the way back.

I hope i have clarified a few problems you may have had,but all in all a very enjoyable fortnight in a lovely part of the world.P.S if your wondering  pint of san miguel about £2.35,fosters £2.50,but forget blue/red wkd its about £4.50 a bottle.

Before we went to the Bellevue I read alot of mixed reports and was very worried (nearly cancelled), However the mixed reports were correct.  The place was noisey, busy, great for kids although alot of the entertainment such as the bouncy castle cost extra.  If you don't go with high expectations you will enjoy your holiday if you go with expectations of 4 or 5 star you will be very, very disapointed.

One thing I will say if that the accommodation could really benefit from air conditioning as even with the fans they charge an absolute fortune for it makes very little difference. 

If you have booked - have a great time if you are thinking of booking - don't!

After reading all the silly reviews onmthis web site i was very scared to be going to this complex. The holiday was no where near as bad. The complex was clean the rooms basic but cleaned every other day. We had toaster, microwave, kettle and everything already there. 

The pools were lovely if a little busy at times, if you didn t get a sunbed there was always grass verges to sit n whci actually were alot better as you didnt get the kids running past and soaking youevery few minutes. The only down side was the fact that we went half board anfd the buffet food served was disgusting. we ended up spending most of our spending money eating out - there were spme loevely restaurants abound - Lunas was espeicilly nice. Beach was fantastic and there was a boat on site that took you there in a couple of minutes. It dropped you off at a much quiter place on the beach than if you were to do the 15 minute walk there. 

The beach is perfect for kids as the water is very shallow and you can walk out for miles. Allin all for themoney we paid - whcih wasnt alot this was a really good holiday. I personally would come back again but would go self catering.

After reading reviews we were worried, especially considering it was the first time abroad with the younger two. We had nothing to worry about, the apartment was big and clean we had everything we needed. The maids were excellent had our sheets changed every couple of days. We stayed in Ceres II weather was good & ate out everynight. 

The Peach pit was a favourite with the children, cheers was good, The canny Lad was really nice, big portions and friendly. The Tivoli across the road from the hotel appears to be more expensive, but the portions are HUGE!!! We found this to be better value than the 3 courses for 8e meals which we ate in the 1st week. 

Excursions are best booked off site as they cost around half the price that the hotel tries to charge you for! Marineland was good but don't go there for the full day as once you have seen the 2 shows on offer there is nothing left to do, we combined this with a trip to Palma to do some shopping was well worth the money. Beach was nice and also safe for the children, it is really shallow for the first 50 metres and great for them to play in. The onsite entertainment is good, and I truly hope for anyone going this summer they have replaced the Robbie Williams tribute, Pretty naff if you even remotely like Robbie!!! If you are taking travellers cheques take Sterling as you can get 0% in a lot of places where Euro cheques charge you wherever you change them. 

Will almost certainly be back...

just got back on june 30th 05 after reading other reviews we had mixed feelings but wow it was brill it was our first holiday abroad as a family and we have had the best week ever (not going back to skeggy again )

we arrived at about 12.30am got took to the apartment within 15 mins first impression very basic and no air conditioning. woke up early and sat on the balcony it was like sitting in an oven the view was amazing, there were 9 floors on fedra 1 and we were on the second, 

went on the boat from the site up to the beach 2 euros one way or 3 euros return that was good went on the beach and oh my god it was beautifull golden sand clear water fishes in the sea wow. 

there are 8 pools on site and you can use any if people go in the pool at night its not to bad unless they start screeching and it only happend once and we phoned reception and they sent a gaurd and he gave them a clip round the ear and sent them packing. 

the lucky lucky men and women are ok if you just say no thanks but i asked how much for the sunglasses and he followed me right up the road to my family amusement. 

we ate at the drunken corner in the complex which was so freindley and the food was good and cheap, also big bens just outside the complex to the left was brill eat from the 3 course menu 8 euros large portions  also nevadas was good we also tried the allyou can eat buffet on site next to the show garden it was ok but the staff were not friendley the price was 9 euros for adults and 4.50 for kids 16 and under 

do hire the saftey deposit on the last day i left my watch in the bathroom after having a shower and when we came back from brekfast it was gone. 

airtours were helpfull if you needed them and if you are phoning home buy a card from the reps for 10 euros and you get lots of talk time but you have to use the phone of the complex, 

went to the old alcudia town market it was good but very crowded and to hot got the bus home it cost 1 euro and dropped you off just outside the complex, the show garden at night was truley fantastic they had grease, madonna, westlife, robbie williams and best of all the disney show the compare (the little bald man called jesus) was so funny he had us laughing every night, 

use colbars supermarket just off the site much cheaoper than the spars on site, 200 fags (soverign)16 euros, grants 1 litre whiskey 8.99 euros and vodka 4.99 euros. there is mozzys but if you buy incense sticks from the shop on site next to the morroco bar they stay away 

all in all it was a truley unforgetable week and we would go back again

We went to Bellevue on 18th June - 25th June and had read some of the reviews which seemed to be quite mixed. We were determined to have a good time on holiday, despite it being a very cheap holiday (less than 400 for us both).

We were more than happy with our large 1 bedroom apartment in Minerva 1, which came equiped with kettle, toaster, microwave and a spare bed, large settee, and arm chair. The balcony overlooked the swimming pool and we had a lovely view of the river and mountains in the background. We enjoyed some breakfasts and evening drinks on the balcony and there was a place to dry out clothes.

There were a few ants that found their way into the sugar we bought, so I recommend buying the small sachets, so that they are anti-ant! I also recommend taking plenty of mosquito repellent and making sure you spray yourself before you go out in the evenings as one night I forgot and got bitten 8 times! Some sunscreens come with insect repellent.

I didn't rate the resort for the food because all of the restaurants seemed to serve the same types of food and not great value for money. I had a spaghetti carbonara at Romas as it was recommended on this site, but the carbonara was awful. It seems that if you buy steak then you get a good meal, but other meals aren't so nice. We tried spanish omelette, which is nice and also had paella which is typical spanish food. American Cafe was good for nachos, tacos, fajitas etc but we had poor service there (they forgot to make our meal). The atmosphere in Lunas was nice. Total Tapas was nice and we tried the tapas which wasn't as spanish as I'd hoped.

The pancake stall was great to watch and really really popular. I tried one and it was delicious! I also frequented Haagen Dazs cafe quite a few times. KFC was handy for caesar salad lunches, but buying fresh baguettes in the stores opposite the apartments worked out cheap and tasty.

The Sunglasses men do try and sell you their sunglasses, watches and also drugs, so they should be watched out for and apparently the ladies who braid hair might pick pocket you if they can... We got warned this on the coach there. We personally had no problems.

We went to Kaos which was a popular bar for twenty-thirty somethings - and they recommend Bells NightClub, which we didn't actually go to. Another chilled out place to go is the Oxygen Style Bar, but I personally found it slightly boring and opted for the cheesy places with Stevie Wonder impressions.

The entertainment at Bellevue was faultless. Bingo for those of you who like it. Watch out for "Put your hands in the air" a song which is quite addictive and sung in multiple languages.

The pool by the apartments was quite busy, so we opted for much quieter option of the pool just a few seconds walk from there. We bought lilos for a couple of euros each and took them to lie on, so a good option if you can't find a sunbed.

I reckon that Bellevue could get quite busy and packed out during July and August. The time we went was perfect as it wasn't too quiet or too busy and was nice and hot - about 30 degrees C  - not too hot though. I don't think I could go in July/August as there is no air conditioning. Would have to sleep on balcony!!

Take EARPLUGs. They are really useful for the flights anyway, and blocked out any night-time noises. People arrive and leave during the middle of the night, so there's bound to be furniture noises. I never had problems sleeping with my ear plugs.

Lastly, excursions... well we walked to Hydropark which was a nice day out and only 15 euros each. Would have liked to have gone to Western Water Park as it looks really good. Advice is to buy from the street outlets.

We also went on banana boats on the lovely beach of Alcudia. I hurt my leg falling off one though - it's still bruised! Ooops. Parasailing was also great fun - sixty euros for the two of us but worth it - you go on a jet boat for an hour and take it in turns to go up in either twos or threes. You sail across the skies - great views and lovely feeling!

All in all, the holiday is what you make of it, so enjoy yourself and get ready for a great time!

Me & my boyfriend stayed in the bellevue - Minerva 2 -  4 11 nights, The accomodation was basic, had evrything you needed - i.e Toaster, Microwave, Iron, Kettle.

The beach was fantastic, clear sea, sky was very blue. You could go out a very long way - & was still shallow. Theres lots of watersports u can do.

Yummy's was a good bar, If you have kids they are very welcome in all bars.
We ate in the same restaurant, every day mostly called bugs bunny . The staff were so friendly, put a smile on you face everytime you was in there.
Anybody going to stay at the bellevue take no notice of any comments made to sya its not all that. Definatley going back there again. Was very tempted to stay there.
Loved every min.

Also a lakes there, where u can go fishing. Very beautiful.

We stayed for a week at the Bellevue in Alcudia during June 2005. It was the first time we had been to Alcudia and will definitely go back again because of the fantastic beach.

The Bellevue: The rooms were cleaned every other day, the pools were clean and the entertainment was good. It is billed as the largest apartment complex in Europe, but as far as I am concerned that is it's downfall. The access roads around the apartment blocks were quite busy and there was some rowdy behavior which went unchecked because the site was so large. 

If you have booked a holiday at the bellevue already don't worry - it's not as bad as some people make out, but I am sure there are much better places in Alcudia which are just as cheap. Don't shop at any of the Spar shops on the complex as they are a rip-off. Go to the Colbear supermarket just opposite the main enterance. Don't forget your mossie spray.

Just to let everyone know that we are actually here at the moment, this is our 4th day and we were dreading coming here because of all the reviews on here.  This place is absolutely brilliant. 

We are in Minerva 2 complex and this whole place is spotless.  The pools are excellent, the entertainment is brilliant every night, we have watched the disney show, madonna tribute and last night it was westlife, there is a funfair onsite for kids and they will love it.  There are go karts, ten pin bowling and loads of other things to do.   it is great.

The apartments are spotless and if you need clean towels or anything just ask at reception they are so helpful. 

There is a laundrette for doing your washing and the kids club fo airtours is in neptuno 2 block if you are looking for it.

Dont worry book up for here you will love it.

We were a little bit worried after reading some of these reviews but we really enjoyed our holiday in the bellevue apartments. 

We were there from May 31 till 7 June. The weather was hot all week, late 70's to early 80's temperatures. We were in Leda 3 in room 503 on the fifth floor and we had a gorgeous view of the mountains outside our front door and a nice view of the pool and the strip from our balcony. We had a kettle, toaster and microwave in our kitchen so we only had to hire the safety deposit box. 

We went to Yummy Yummys, Nevadas, Lunas, kfc(for kids) and The Tapas bar twice. All were very good meals with Lunas being the dearest. We went on the horse and carriage to the nearby Hidropark which was an excellent day out for the kids, 15 euros for over 12s and 8 euros for under 12s. Its only a 20 minute walk to the beach, Went to Alcudia beach twice which is gorgeous, (we've been to Mexico & Barbados & believe me the beach in Alcudia is not far behind in terms of beaut.) Swimming pools were good, our baby was always in there. Colber supermarket is good value over the road, cheap water and coke, nice freshly baked baguettes. 

Entertainment in the show garden was pretty good Abba, Grease, Madonna & westlife were the best we felt. Drinks are expensive though.

We felt it was a really enjoyable holiday for our kids and now they're looking forward to Florida in December.

we  stayed in Ceres 1 self catering apts, very impressed with cleanliness and space we had. Large clean complex covered in grass and colourful flower beds. A selection of pools, enclosed childrens playground and regular evening entertainment. One main street to resort which was a pleasant stroll down to the beach which was gorgeous. 

Overall a good value family holiday. Recommended.

We were dreading this holiday after reading the bad reviews but honestly when we got there we couldn't have been happier. 

the apartments have absolutly everything we needed. they were situated in the centre of everything. our room was clean and cosy. the only problem we had was that the lifts were broken 75% of the week (we were on top floor) We got Lyda I which are right at the front iof the complex. Very Handy.

If you want to eat out you have to go across the road to LUNAS. the food is to die for. And for all thoses Irish holiday makers out there, The Irish Bar is a must. you can't miss it. its at the end of the street where all the english bars are, beside the canal.

The beach is a stones throw, and the port is a must see.

We took afew trips. The adults pirates was really good. unbelievable at times. we booked with our rep. when we got to the venue there was a que a mile long which we had to join. thankfully once the doors opened we were all seated in minutes.

We booked the Rancho Grande twilight horse trek for our last night. it was perfect, complete with happy cowboys, gorgeous food and all sorts of animals. look it up when you get there.

I would definatly go again, but in warmer climates, the pool (1 of 8 big pools) was still freezing at the beginning of May so beware.

We found the resort to be brilliant.  I was worried before we left having read other reviews but we had no problems.  We stayed in Leda 3 overlooking the pool.  The apartment was clean and the maid service was excellent.  All the staff were brilliant and spoke perfect English.  

The entertainment team were really lively and worked hard each day and night.  The were activities for adults and children of all ages including horse riding, rifle shooting, archery and pirates.  The evening entertainment was held in the Show Garden and included performances by tribute bands such as Abba, Westlife, Grease and Robbie Williams (Madonna was not too good!!)  

There were plenty of places to eat.  We enjoyed Lunas which is just across the road.  There was a huge supermarket across the road which came in very handy.  There was no need to hire a car, everything was to hand.  The Port D'Alcudia could be reached by bus or taxi costing only 4 Euros.  

We would definitely return.  One tip though you have to get up early to get your towel on the sunbeds!!

Just returned from Alcudia 28 May 05, staying at the Belle Vue.  Our apartments were in Minerva 2.  At first we thought the view onto the main street was ok, but at night it was very, very noisy.  Poolside was packed with no sunbeds to be had at all after 8am!!  But it was clean enough and the maids were very good leaving fresh towells and changing the beds. Reception staff were very helpful, especially with the kids.

Never saw a Direct Holidays rep apart from the Welcome meeting where the childrens rep made an appearance.  There were however, always an airtours rep in attendance or someone who could help.

Watch out for the street traders trying to get you to buy sunglasses, 'gold' chains and braid long hair.  I was glad my kids were boys as I think I would have got fed up with them always pushing a picture of their previous hair do's in your face!!

Try the Sangria in the Banana bar, I found this to be the best. (I tried a few!!) Food there good too.  Also the food in the Geordie bar The Canny Lad was good value, but watch out for the waiter, a bit of a nutter!! They can also book you on trips to Marineland etc with good prices, but the bus only picks up at one point which may be a bit of a hike from your hotel, so watch out.

Took the local bus to the Port, only costed 5 euros for 5 of us.  Good booze and cigarette shop (quite cheap) there so we took a taxi back!! Worth the trip to look at the boats.

I have to admit I read the reviews on here before I went and wasn't really looking forward to the trip but I really enjoyed it.

I had read the reports on this website 3 weeks before we went.  I tried to cancel but would have lost 70% of what I'd paid so we decided to go and hope for the best.  I've got a baby and was really dreading going!  However, I can honestly say its one of the best holidays we've had and are going to go back next year.

We stayed in the minerva 2 block.  It was well equipped and had a toaster, kettle etc.  The room was clean and if you wanted clean towels, you just put the old ones in the bath (there was a sign in the bathroom to tell you this).

The complex itself was spotless and there is nothing at all we could have complained about.  We went half board and the buffet restaurant had plenty choice - you'd be hard pushed not to find something to suit.  People on previous reviews were moaning about the food, but again, no complaints from us.

There were 7 ( i think) different swimming pools in the complex and we were at most of them.  Its also only a 10/15 minute walk to the beach, or you can get the boat from the complex for 3 euros return.

The cafe in the complex is really nice and dirt cheap.

The showbar is good - entertainment 1st class and my daughter loved the mini discos.

There is a funfair and a massive swingpark in the complex to keep the children entertained.

We had use of the direct holidays kids club and again, my daughter had a ball.  The 2 reps, Jo and Jules were lovely and helped to make her holiday really special.

There were 7 airtours reps to deal with direct hols, airtours and panorama and they were always there when they should have been.

If you are booked to go to Bellevue, I'd say if you want to enjoy yourselves, you will.

And finally, the pankcake shop opposite the complex is amazing!

We have just returned from 5 days in Alcudia. After reading previous reviews I was a bit hesitant about going, however there was no need. 

This is not a place for those who want a quiet holiday as it is very noisy everywhere. Our first apartment on the 7th floor of Minerva 2 was facing the main road which was noisy until late and then on the second night our neighbours decided to play their music louder than that in the street most of the night! The next morning we asked to be moved and without any fuss we were moved to the 2nd floor facing the lake (much quieter). Lots of the usual furniture moving in the middle of the night but you have to ignore that. 

Even with 8 swimming pools if you got there after 8.30 all the sunbeds were taken (by towels, not people) even though it was stated that this was not allowed there was no one there to make sure this did not happen.We used the beach which was very close by and reasonably clean. 

There are lots of great places to eat the breakfast in Nevada was wonderful!The rooms are basic but clean and the maids came in most days.Only saw one cockroach and that was outside by the bins and did not see any mossies.There was quite a strong smell by the entrance to the complex but that is where it stayed. 

The entertainment in the show garden was mostly good but the Robbie Williams unfortunately did not seem to be able to sing at all. 

Although we would not go back it was a good holiday and would recommend it for families who want to keep busy, the staff are all very helpful and obliging.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

My partner was a bit worried about some of the comments made about this accomodation but I am glad to say the place was fine. In fact it was so good that my partner wants to go back next year. 

Some of the brochures say that you have to hire kettles but the kitchen had a kettle, microwave and a toaster. The kitchen is a bit small but is fine for preparing meals. We were in the LEDA 2 complex which had a balcony looking on to the main street and it was a wee bit noisy but the music from the restuarant/bar across from us stopped about midnight.

There were 3 swimming pools, 2 for children. The main pool is only over a metre deep so no real swimming can be done in this but my children loved it. The snack bar at the pool is good, a small beer cost 1.80 euro and a large beer is 2.80 euros.

The apartment was clean and if you wanted your room cleaned then you just hang a notice that is provided on the room door, dirty towels are dumped in the bath if you want them changed. There is also a television in the room which shows 9 channels but only 3 are English speaking - CNN, Eurosport and Travel. These are free but if you want satellite channels they can be hired through reception. The complex is good with bars and resturants and a short boat trip can be done to the beach. We went to the show area on 3 nights and saw Westlife, Abba and Grease which were all good.
There is a kids club run by the complex which is from 11.00-12.30 and 3.00-4.30 and is free and is done around the pool area.

The best place we found for eating was across from the complex called Yummy Yummy were you can have a 3 course meal for 8 euros and a childrens meal is 3 euros or 4 euros if having a dessert.
We took a local bus to Porta Pollenca which cost 1 euro and you can also take a local bus to the market in Alcudia itself for 0.80 euros.

The hair braiders and street sellers don't give you much hassle, all you have to say is no and they'll leave you alone.
The beach is a straight walk down the street and you can walk along to the port of Alcudia.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday and I would recommend this accomodation to anyone.

ive just recently came back from the belvue and i must admit it was 100% better than i expected.
I came onto this website before i went away and the remarks were bad, so i was expecting a bad holiday.
when we arrived into the belvue we got off the coach and we were all covered in Oil and none of it will come off. Then we checked in and we couldnt find our hotel even though we were over the road from main reception we were staying in Leda 1.

The rooms were clean and very big. we had everything we needed for a self catering holiday. Microwave, cooker, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, fridge/freezer. we had two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. but had the couchbed in the living room. The balcony was big but the but others werent so big. the swimming pool was big and clean, there is also a spar supermarket between three hotles(all 17 of them), The complex is massive.. me and my dad went out for a walk at 3 in the morning and it took us 45 minutes to walk half way round the complex. There is a show garden which has entertainment everynight whcih is sometimes Excellent. Grease was good and Westlife was good but the Begees were poop. there is also Robbie williams, Elvis, The Beatles, abba and madonna tributes which we did not see. The bars and restaurants are all just outside the Belvue which makes it fast and easy to get to were you want to go. There is a lot of chinese restarants i recomend Mei Lings, just over the bridge on the left.. it was 6 euros for a 3 course meal and it was very nice. There is also two burger kings a KFC and a pizza hut. the bars were all spot on and the staff are mostly friendly.

While walking along the main street be careful.. there are people trying to sell you sunglasses and they are really scary... they follow u everywhere even when you are eating you dinner.. theyer nasty. and there is the other people trying to braid your daughters hair.. the women wouldnt let my little cousin past because she didnt want her hair braided.

The beach is nice and only takes about 10 mins to get there, but the water is freezing.
Overall i found the holiday nice and relaxing with all the bars family friendly.. apart from The Prince of wales which is an adults bar.

Recomendations:
The Shine (great bar for the family, its quite cheap and do nice meals aswell, we were there everynight singin on the kareoke)

Jolly Roger ( This is good for food but its deer but has a swimming pool outside the pub which u can use for free)

Linekers ( Great for all football fans, you can watch every match its gr8)

Cheers (Were all the reps hang out... but its good its open till very late and the kids are welcome.. every night theres kareoke)

The Canny Lad ( A geordie pub what does boss breakies for cheap)

Days out:

Pirates (Great night out for the family.. funny and you have a meal b4 the show and the pirates come round and ask for your support and talk to you etc.. all your drinks is included in the price aswell as your food)

Any boat Trip ( All the boat trips looked good, i went on one with Robinsons Boats which was good)

All in all it was a Brilliant holiday
i would recomend it to Families only.

Oh dear me its not good!
We had to carry our cases for miles to find our hotel.We have been to Alcudia before lots of times and never had a problem.

We arrived at our room and we had a veiw of a tree the staff moved us no problem to the ninth floor and that was very nice.We could nt believe the pool was so slippey and somebody is going to get hurt badly one day.The water runs out of the shower in a very strange manner!!!!We have had no hot shower and no sleep for two weeks due to poor water flow and some wonderful holiday makers swimming in the pool at 3 am.The resort is a mad house every one is free to make as much noise as they want they want no matter what the hour!!!!!!
there was no security at night to stop the people performing in the pool not only is it disrespecetful but very dangerous.
Where was the kids club????
Ihave a six year old daughter and she had no t shirt no holiday songs no fun with anyone but us!!!!
Never again will we visit this place it is a Bulins in the sunshine.
Weather and beach was fantasic!!

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

As other people on this site were, we were pretty sceptical about going here after reading all the reviews but we needn't have been.  We booked our flights and apartment seperately on the internet and found it cheaper to hire a car with www.doyouspain.com than to pay a taxi from the airport.  We paid 100 for a brand new people carrier for the week compared to Thomson wanting 120 for coach transfers.  This also meant it took less than an hour to get there and it was an easy journey on one straight road. Our apartment was in the Diana II block which was very quiet. Towels and sheets were changed almost daily.  We travelled mid august and there was no problem getting a sun lounger by the pool as long as you were there before noon.  Failing that there was a large grassed area next to the pool where you can lay your towels and lilos on.

We found the reception staff to be very helpful and their english was excellent.  The only complaint I have about the apartment was that there was no air con. A fan could be hired but the problem wasnt so bad until the last couple of nights so we didnt bother.

The complex is surrounded by places to eat.  They are all very similar, some being very cheap at less than 8 euro for a 3 course meal.  The only place I will say to not go to is Romas.  Its an Italian near to the beach and we found it to be expensive.  My daughter asked for a little mayonnaise and we were charged 1.75 euros extra! We had a sunday roast at Bugs Bunnies and found Paco, the owner to be very nice and funny.  The Peach Pitt has excellent entertainment for younger children as does cheers bar next door.  Hope this review helps!

The Bellvue appts. were excellent, we were in Ceres 1 overlooking the swimming pool. The acomodation was just what we expected, clean, spacious, comfortable. The swimming pool was great my kids were in every day. the only downside were the uncomfortable sun loungers, visit the other 8 pools on site as some had better loungers.

recommend the caffitiere to eat at, on site just beside the show gardens. the service and food excellent and cheap. The Tivoli for breakfast 4euros 50 for large breakfast plus tea/coffe and juice.  Also The Big Ben pub for 3 course meal 8 euros,all located just outside bellvue.  The Crown pub for any tv programmes you can't live without.  Didnot like The Canny Lad, or Chineese opposite Lagos or Yummy YUmmy.  Lunas excellent for a meal and entertainment.  Trips Rancho Grande, excellent and if you like horse riding there are stable at the end of Siesta 1 appts [they take your for a gallop 16euros for 1 hour}Pirate show well worth the price we were next to the stage. Trips can be bought cheaper from other sources than your reps. Our reps were excellent, always available very friendly. My daughter loved some of the kids clubs. The show gardens are great fot entertainment,and bingo.  The downside is how many times can they take your photo on all trips etc. The all star pub great for sangria.  Buses in and out out Alcudia on market day a nightmare.

We had a fab time, loads to do for all of us,spent loads of money, good tans, met nice people. Our only downside was the 14 hour day we had to put in, after checking out, before our flight home at 5.30 a.m. Leda 1 has commfortable sofas ,which we sat on for about 5hours.

we saw the reviews for this and was really regretting booking it.we desided to just go and make the most of it and we are glad we did we loved it.

we stayed in minerva1 for 2 weeks the apartment was very clean.the cleaners was in 5 days a week.our balcony looked over the lake the reviews said it stank all the time and it didn,t it only stank a few times and not for long.we used the neptuno2 pool it was a lot quieter and the kids loved because it was deep.the pool bar was very expensive and the food was not very nice. the show garden is huge. the kids loved the bingo the enterainment westlife&madonna a must they where very good.outside the complex the shops are alot cheeper.

the restaurants, nevada,s did a lovely brittish breakfast,j.p. you got a 3 course meal for 8 euros,try luna grill big kabab u can smell for mile,s and its verly nice too, there,s also a brittish chippy with lovely homemade chips, next to the chippy there,s a chinese you get 3 course for 5 euros  95 cents the spring rolls a must.

We read the reviews on the site, which were not good, however we went with an open mind.
We found the accomadation excellent, our rooms were cleaned every 2 days and there was evrything that we needed available.I have never been to a resort where you can catch the ultimate comedy boat to and from the beach.
if you choose to stick to the bellevue strip then may be you would find it a bit blackpoolesque, but surely you dont go to a resort like alcudia for anything else !!
Past the strip though was the oxygen bar, goodfellas peach pit and bells which were all good for cheap drinks, a laugh and meeting people ! Also club menthe which holds a foam party every thursday !

Pirates was amazing well worth the visit and also the western water park in magluf.

We found it a brilliant holiday and would recommend it, because surely your holiday is what you make it !

After reading reviews written by previous guests at this complex, I was rather nervous about going to the Bellview. However, we were all pleasantly surprised at both the accomodation and the 'village' complex. It was a safe environment for the children, allowing them the freedom to hire scooters and go-karts without the worry of them being on busy main roads. The entertainment provided was quite high standard with tribute performances by Madonna, Westlife, Abba and Robbie Williams, and various other shows.  

The accomodation itself was of a high standard, maid service every other day - and staff very helpful and friendly. We all enjoyed our stay at the Bellview but would only recommend it if you have children!! 

My only complaints would be the walk to the beach.....we only went once in a fortnight.. and the mosquitos! Go armed with repellent and you'll be fine! Holidays are what you make them and if you dont have a good time here then its not down to lack of entertainment or poor service. 

A very friendly, family orientated complex.... Have fun !

This was my first time abroad in 44 years,so I did`nt know what to expect,a friend told me to look on this web site to read the reviews.This happened after we had booked through first choice who recommended this holiday.

At first we were a bit disappointed in some of the reviews shown, but its all down to personel choice.myself and my family & friend personly found the resort excellent there are great swimming pools on the complex,everyday they are being maintained to the highest standard,and cater for all age groups.We were in an apartment which slept 5,2 seperate bedrooms and a bed settee in the lounge,all these apartments have ample balconys.

There is great cabaret in the majority of restaurants down the main street,we would recommend solimindos,if you want a great breakfast try yummy yummys starts 9.30,this is also great for karaoke and cheap drinks on the evening.
We found the reps welcome talk very handy being first timers,try the aqua park at el arenal through your reps it`s an excellent day out for the family.the beachs are white sand and very clean its a bit expensive for sunbed hire 3.35 euros cheaper to buy a towel maybe.

Overall there is plenty to do at alcudia for all the family WE WILL BE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR TO THE SAME RESORT AS WE WERE VERY PLEASED.GRASIAS.

well i was not looking forward to going to the bellevue after reading some of the comments about these apartments,well i must say what a fantastic  holiday we had.the apartments were spotless the complex,infact the whole place was spotless.

The reps were great with the kids plenty to do all the time.the reception staff were exellent and the reps. the was plenty to do every day,the kids favourite was horse ridding in the hills brill.beach 10mins walk and what a fantastic beach.jill at the prince of wales pub was great was very hepfull and made you feel very welcome,thanks jill your a star: 

so if your of to the bellevue sit back and enjoy a great family holiday.

Have just returned from 7 days at botel alcudiamar on a Thomson a la carte deal - normally these hotels are top class but this hotel is definitely not worth its 4 star rating! Weather was fabulous and the pool and garden facilities are wonderful but the hotel room, food and staff were terrible! 

Food in most of the Thomson 4/5 star hotels is usually fantastic with great choice but at choice was very limited - one night there was a small whole roasted pig on the ehated range but no one to carve it and no implements to allow guests to carve it either! Each evening at dinner we had a problem in managing to attract a waiters attention to allow us to order drinks - ditto at breakfast to order coffee! The position of the hotel on the marina is wonderful but downtown Alcudia is rather tacky and not very clean. 

However the Thomson airport taxi service was excellent as usual, the cleanliness in the hotel was good but beware the room safe - we spent ages on arrival attempting to use the safe - it appeared a standard room safe but could not get it to work - went back to reception where we found out we had to pay and then receive a key that unlocks on the inside of the door! tried that then found out the battery was flat so had to wait for a maintenance man to be found - very frustrating! Flights from B.ham were good -no delays but standard of this hotel just does not justify the cost.

My/Our Holiday Opinion: 

We have just stayed at the Botel this July 04 for 12 days.  Overall we found the hotel had some strong pluses but also some strong negatives.

The pluses:
The hotel is very well (and exclusively) located at the end of a port in the bay of Alcudia. It is only 300 metres from the very heart of the town etc.
The hotel gardens and infinity pool are top-class, with ample (in number) and comfortable loungers and absolute freedom to plonk oneself wherever.  Very relaxed atmosphere.  The pool is at least 30m long, kidney shaped and has a bench under a small waterfall.  The gardens are sufficiently large to accomodate and space all guests comfortably with the hotel at capacity and beautiful palms provide sufficient shade.

The staff are extremely friendly and professional and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable.
One can take breakfast and dine either inside or outside at the edge of the gardens in a very picturesque setting looking out over the bay and the beaches.

There is an internal pool, gym and jacuzzi, though the jacuzzi was cold, there were only 4 dated machines and the gym was only open from 9-20hrs - when one most wants to be outside in the sun.
The beach at Alcudia is endlessly long and very wide with fine sand.  Very crowded at peak.  The water is very calm with almost no waves given the protected nature of the bay - so it heated up quickly and is very child-friendly.
Large towels were supplied (unlimited) and exchanged at will.


Negatives
This is actually a 4-star hotel (as rated by itself) but the rooms were an ENORMOUS DISAPPOINTMENT.  Long but narrow, very sparsely and cheaply furnished (wicker) with not even a stand for suitcases, one small wardrobe and a bathroom of absolutely minimal dimensions.  

The TV was miniscule and old and the lighting poor and dim.  One had the distinct impression that they were going as low cost as possible.  In fact they definitely are!  Discussions with a few other guests revealed that all had complained and requested a change but all rooms were much the same and didn't merit a move.  The suites are just large versions of the standard - certainly not any more luxurious.  However, the wooden balconies were sufficiently spacious to relax and the cleaning and maintenance was faultless.  

We have a 10m old baby and so spent a larger proportion of time in our room - space, storage space and comfort are all important (there was no sofa for example).  My wife is Spanish and we have travelled extensively across Spain and the world.  We have stayed in hotels with rooms 3 times as large and luxurious in the south of Spain for just Eur88 as opposed to the Eur200 here.  It took us 2 days just to calm down from the disappointment!!

There is no room service nor porter!!  We arrived at 11 p.m. and had could not even get a cold sandwhich.  We lugged all our luggage plus 10 month-old baby nigh on 100 metres to the most disappointing room of our lives.  We were racing each other back to reception to complain!

Parking:  The hotel has parking spaces but these are not owned - upon entering the port area one enters into public parking at Eur6 per day with no concession for the guests - not much by UK standards, but criminal in Spain and obviously it adds up over 2 weeks.  

The standard of the food was also a real disappointment - a huge variety was available, the quality was poor.  Breakfast eggs are fried in small circular moulds and the chef infrmed me this was to increase production and reduce the cost of cooking oil - back to the issue of cost-savings!  Breakfast was certainly a lot better than dinner.  The choice of quality dining in Alcudia was limited.

The town itself was also very disappointing - highly touristy with really tacky shops akin to the worst of Blackpool or Brighton.  The tourist crowd was very down-market this year since a lot of unsold packages had to be dumped last minute.  Lots of Brits, Scandinavians and Germans, but no rowdiness thankfully.  Little or nothing to do at night other than wander.

Despite all I've said, the hotel is perfectly acceptabe if the room is not that important to you, nor the food.  However, quality is a function of the price you pay and I would never pay more than EUR120 per night for those rooms, even at peak.  Beware that the hotel (craftily) quotes its prices per person for the double rooms (Eur103 each person).
